Arrested Because He Joked About Mandela: Police Hold Shopkeeper for Eight Hours, Take His DNA and Seize His Computer

Wills Robinson, Daily Mail (London), December 9, 2013

A sandwich shop owner endured eight hours of questioning by police and had his computer seized for three weeks—after making tasteless Nelson Mandela jokes on the internet.

Neil Phillips, who runs Crumbs in Rugeley, Staffordshire, says he was also finger-printed and DNA-swabbed after officers received complaints about what he insists were harmless gags.

Neil Phillips

In one online post, the 44-year-old wrote: ‘My PC takes so long to shut down I’ve decided to call it Nelson Mandela.’

Mandela, the former South African leader, and Nobel Peace Prize recipient, died on Thursday, aged 95.

Mr Phillips was arrested at his home onSeptember 10 and was taken to a police station where he was quizzed about the postings on the Rugeley Soap Box website.

He said: ‘It was an awful experience. I was fingerprinted, they took DNA and my computer.

‘It was a couple of jokes, Bernard Manning type.

‘There was no hatred.

‘You can question the taste, but they’re not hateful. I told the police they got plenty of “likes”. What happened to freedom of speech?

‘I think they over-reacted massively. Those jokes are “out there”, anyway.

‘When they took my computer, I thought, “what the hell are they looking for?” To be questioned would have been over the top, never mind arrested.’

Funniest comment of the past few days.

He didn’t buy anything, at least not with earned money. I thought the joke would have been about which circle of hell is reserved for those who put flaming tires on women and childrens necks

Nothing funny about the Thought Policeman’s knock in surveillance-state “England”, but very revealing.
    Nothing funny about Nelson’s & Winnie’s victims.
Nothing funny about his POST-apartheid “legacy”.
Nothing funny about Poor Old Charlie Windsor as another “Rompilger” alongside Bill the Penis Clinton and other Celebrities at the “Greatest Global Funeral in Human History” for the “Greatest Man Who Ever Walked the Earth”.

      You safe, David?

      • David Ashton

        We’ll see. Thanks for asking.

        • NeanderthalDNA

Good. It’s really chilling for me to see this stuff happening over there. I used to poo poo all the “thoughtcrime” hysteria of the rather anarchist pseudo-left and libertarianesque right but…

Wow. They really did that, didn’t they? Not something out of some kind of obverse “V” plot eh?

Know that should the Royal Thought Police come knocking there is absolutely nothing I can do to help you and you will be in God’s hands and my prayers. Wish there were, but…

At least the arrestees are not “disappearing” yet, are they?

          • David Ashton

Our Head of State and the Royal Family are constitutionally required in public to act on the “advice” of their “democratic” ministers, not vice-versa. For years the Oath of Allegiance to the Monarch by our Armed Forces and the Police have been a protection of our nation and its liberties above party politics, but this (like much else) has been subverted incrementally by the “left” in various ways. The aims were well summarised by Nesta Webster in “World Revolution” nearly 100 years ago (whatever her other views).

The long-term objective is a multiracial republic within a “socialist” world order, though the Arabs and the Chinese are posing problems, when it should be white Americans and Europeans who should be doing so.

Our victims are usually the small fry, “to encourage the others”, but there are those of us who know the score and…let’s leave it there.

          • Emperor Naked

Being in “God’s hand’s” has never done anybody any more good than being in their own or no ones. Positive thoughts are nice, though.

          • NeanderthalDNA

I stared into the Abyss and the Abyss ignored me. Thereafter I became the mouthpiece of God.

          • Emperor Naked

Statistics say that relying on God is as good as staring into an abyss. Anyone who thinks they have become “the mouthpiece of God” is delusional at best, a maniac in the making, likely, but a White Realist, NO. (You’ve got to be a Realist first).

          • NeanderthalDNA

If I really believe myself to be the “mouthpiece of God” I cannot be a White Realist? Regardless of the veracity of the assertion how does this logically follow?

How ’bout “the Late Blooming Antichrist”? Better?

          • Emperor Naked

You can be a white advocate, but not a realist and so not a white realist or race realist. Realism means being logical and rational and religious belief is contraindicated in the definition. If you think that claiming to be “the mouthpiece of god” is a demonstration of rational logic, then there is little I can tell you except I don’t care what color an invader is, if they come at me with this religious fanaticism I become an equal opportunity defender, in every way.

As for your “antichrist” stuff, that’s for your Inquisitional tendencies and religious definitions, not a demonstration of realism in action intellectually or actively. But I was questioning the logic and rational sense of Christianity when I was seven years old, sitting in the church choir.

          • NeanderthalDNA

There is a difference between Truth and truth. The first is “fixed” and “eternal” – the way it is. Not a soul in the universe need believe It for It to exist. Contrast this to the concept of “lie”, which a; is utterly dependent on the primacy of Truth and b; must be credited by someone or some thing in order to exist.

            Truth – not relative

            truth – possibly, usually, relative

lie – dependent on primacy of Truth

Sometimes Truth looks different from different perspectives, but this is a function of the relativity of the observer.

Ultimately we shaved apes are prone to hubris, in that we are the smartest thing we know, but have we reached the apex of our intelligence?

Look into Omega Point and such. Long story short I’m a confused nut who is basically a Gnostic Christian with heavy Buddhist influence if I have to self identify. Most of my friends are blessed atheists or agnostics. I think “God” “loves” things like science, that we are evolving in multiple ways, and that the quest for Truth is no different from love of “God”.

            Antichrist? He’s pretty cool too.

          • Young Werther

            Truman Capote

          • Emperor Naked

Anyone that believes in myths like “God” hasn’t even begun to approach the issues of what makes something a fact and what makes something a claim of fact. The True Believer must keep things vague in order to maintain the illogical cosmos they imagine themselves to be in. Realists fearlessly face the facts and their inherent curiosity is what motivates them. They also constitute the vast majority of whites that brought the West to prominence, not dogmatists and religious cowards. (Yes, it’s based on fear).

          • freddy_hills

Don’t bash religion. I don’t believe in the supernatural myself but studies have overwhelmingly shown it to be a positive for mental and physical health as well as for families and society. That doesn’t mean it can’t go off the rails. But it does mean you shouldn’t spend your time trying to argue others out of belief when the only result will be that those whom you convince will be worse off for it.

          • Emperor Naked

First, I don’t obey orders handed out by strangers on the internet. Second, tell me where all these “overwhelming number of studies are located. The latest polls incidate that most Americans no longer consider themselves religious. Also, the first problems with national obesity occurred in among the most devout Christian groups. So I don’t buy it at all.

I will only grant that as Nietzsche observed, ordinary people need the crutch of religion, but ultimately religion is damaging to the individual and society. European whites are largely secular and having lived there for a while myself, I can tell you that they are quite comfortable without religion. I have a good paper on how Christianity acts like a thought virus. I’m a doctor and I’ll assert that just having a cat around makes up for not having a religion to deceive yourself with. Cats at least, tell no lies and love to cuddle and purr at you. Overwhelming studies have shown that having pets or even being visited by one helps mental attitude and survival rates a great deal. The trade off that religious self-deception and all the social harm it has historically caused and will likely go on causing is not worth it.

As a doctor, I disagree with self-deception of any sort, including and especially religion. Ever notice that Christians begin to loose their faith if they don’t go to church constantly? That’s because it takes lots of repeated and assurances that what they know logically isn’t true and what is completely ridiculous is. Those that sort of hang out as half-believers are just lazy people that take the easy way out every time. Once people are deprogrammed, there is a wealth of discovery and knowledge available to them that was before denied or guarded against. No religion is good for ultimate mental health. So unless a case can be made for the value of perpetuating big lies, the biggest being “It’s all part of God’s Plan,” I will continue to encourage anyway I can, the rejection of religion and for whites a complete rehabilitation from Christianity, which is so full of defeating edicts that affect white exclusiveness that no one can take a white that professes it seriously when they also profess race realism or white exclusivity of any sort. It’s going to take Ubermen to save the white race, not a bunch of backward White Christians repeating the same old bunk. No one listens, or if they do, they know that they are scripturally wrong. People who offer up their beliefs as their justification get laughed off “the stage” continually and this site is too often a big, tragic laugh to read posts on.

          • Brian

Would it be safe to assume you consider yourself to be one of these Ubermen? You sound like a ‘precocious’ high school student who’s in that Rand/Nietzsche/Salinger/Joyce phase. Show us the way, Doogie Howser.

          • Young Werther

If one is a white advocate doesn’t that make one inherently a race realist?

          • Emperor Naked

No, it only makes them a white advocate. Being a realist implies by definition the recognition and practice of a philosophical view where the material proof of things and critical argument is the highest consideration. Critical argument means debate based on facts, not emotion, not wishes, not anger, not revenge or any other emotion. Christians are automatically not likely to simultaneously be realists. I suggest that you or anyone reading this actually look up “Realism.”

I’m pro-white and have been posting on this board for about eight years. I am continually amazed at how much whites here don’t know their own history and how poorly educated they often are in just the basics of things like history and the practice of logic. I often get replies where the poster reveals that what they think is logic is merely rationalizations based on illogical premises or assumptions, like the one on this thread above by Ms. Anthro.

          • Brian

‘Race realist’ means that one is a realist _about race_. It implies nothing about any other subject. You seem to have a misunderstanding about how noun adjuncts work in the English language.

          • Young Werther

Interesting, in its basic form that is what I *like* to think it is.

          • Young Werther

I too appreciate the ancient Western foundations of critical thinking, the Socratic Method, and so forth. Yes, any religion, by its nature based in and upon mythology will be difficult in so far as critical application is concerned. As for the poorly educated and the inabliltiy to apply hard logic, that is to be expected all things considered in present society. One does not have to be an intellectual or hold a phD in philosophy to comprehend the times in which we live. In this case it is important for the intellectual leaders of a group to make complex issues much easier to comprehend, not to make them more difficult for their followers or would be followers to grasp. We all have subjects in which we can speak with authority, but the level of understanding of all or most subjects rarely lie in one individual, if in fact it ever has, and even when we see the rare fellow we know he is speaking from his own unique phenomenological perspective. Religion can have its place and can certainly be useful in various ways. It can also be an imposing obsticle.

          • Emperor Naked

“All religions are equally sublime to the ignorant, useful to the politician and ridiculous to the philosopher.” – Lucretius 99-44 BCE

The underlying hallmark of Western progress has always been the pursuit of knowledge and curiosity. Religions, in particular Christianity have traditionally fought this because it quickly leads to straightforward challenges. One of the most famous examples of this was the murder of Hypatia by a Christian mob in Alexandria led by “Saint” Cyril in the early 5th century, the last teacher of the Greek tradition in the ancient world. You can find it in Gibbon’s “The Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire,” Volume 5, page 18.

I think that the value you are putting on religion is simply the value of community spirit. You can have that without needing to adhere to ridiculous beliefs and rituals, insisting on them as facts, etc.

The problem isn’t that the well educated and informed are talking over anyone’s head or making people feel inferior intentionally. The problem is that at this point, even the white population is so dummed down and lazy- and/or vainglorious that the main dialogue of interest are those that evoke emotions and give cheap satisfaction. Quick, comfortable explanations must always be suspect. “The unexamined life is not worth living.” – Socrates. I don’t have much patience for posters here who obviously are merely insisting that their old outlook be the nation’s model, with no intention of flexing a brain cell to recognize that white survival is going to require all of us to change and give up something for it, (don’t think I haven’t had to work at it and still do). I’ve always paid a high price for every step to intellectual independence I’ve made.

If we don’t know our history, our real history, good and bad, we can’t know who we are and if we don’t know who we actually are, we can’t really do much to help ourselves. The usual quip is; “Those who don’t know their past have no future.” But Patrick Henry said in his famous “Liberty or Death” speech that “There is no way of judging the future than by the past.” If we are mistaken through either other or own own deception, willfully or not, we still fail.

I feel so strongly about this that I have come to think of the true, objective study of history (in detail) to be the most important and most worthy of any subject because it is our human story. This is why among many ancients (and some religions today) ancestry and ancestors are so important. So the most accurate, professionally established version of our story is sacred, you could say. The sin is when one distorts it for any reason, for personal comfort or advantage or institutional/political advantage, which is what BTW the Christians did from the start, even willfully destroying records and all memory of previous history or culture as possible. Bu the worst thing about Christianity is that it makes Whites who wish to save their race into instant imbeciles for all (but apparently themselves) to see and easily debunked.

          • Young Werther

That line you give by Lucretius sums it up. Some things never change. I suppose I love order. As do all good wasps. I hate chaos, in my personal life, in politics, in all things. Religion can work to create order as well as chaos. *Jesus* was a walking promo for Communisum. There are places where communism is needed, some places need a monarchy, some can’t handle democracy…A friend called me one day and said *hey this guy on tv by the naame of Glen Beck is saying things you were telling me back in the1990s* and it was true and I listened a little wondering why this is NEWS, (He was talking about the New Left aka weatherman, infiltration of lefty radical into all levels of American society, SDS, Black Panthers and so forth 50 years too late!!!) until he started talking about Jesus, God, The Bible, Israel and how Christians have a responsibility to die for Israel…so Christianity does have a way of making Whites imbeciles, as you say. William Buckley Jr. was cool in his day but goofy as hell when it came to Catholicism. Christianity made Buckley an imbeciles. All religions and all politics (religion is politics) can make one radical, or nuts…ahhhh history. Yes, but it has been determined by the forces of power in power that the White Race concept must be abolished while at the same time the colored races of the world must be idolized…so teaching Western Civilization must be stopped, replaced by Black Studies, Women Studies, Minority Studies, Critical Theory, Critical Race Theory, and on and on because the white man must be put in his place, and that place is firmly below the heel of the boot of Political Correctness, How clever to create and idea whereby we eagerly slit our own throats. *HISTORY, GIVE ME REWRITE!*

          • Young Werther

            I didn’t understand that myself.

          • NeanderthalDNA

You and I are clever shaved apes. I think some things, concepts, are only sort of evoked in our brains. Math, for example, is still kind of rough for humans. Zen koans attempt to elicit understandings difficult to process with our still evolving brains.

Regardless, the maintenance of a healthy population of reasonably intelligent people (not going the other way) is needed for…all sorts of things. Lionizing and worshipping stupidity is a worse “sin” than tolerating it.

          • Young Werther

ha, More like *waxed ape*…made an A in my graduate statistics class in college, corrected my prof on the answer to the final exam yet stilll can’t solve for x…too smart in some things to dense in others…go figure. I thought you sounded a bit like Nietzsche; I like this one with regard to religion:
Faith: not wanting to know what is true.”
            (I like your *voice*)

          • NeanderthalDNA

Don’t get me wrong – math is very important in real, well done social science. Real math, good math.

But intuitive guesstimation and understanding of what the numbers mean count at least as much in the social sciences as in the hard. Societies are HUGE open systems impacted by unknown and hard-to-quantify variables. They’ve also served as the dumping ground for substandard minorities to get a sciencesque Phd behind their names while turning science into ideology and mucking up everything as usual…

            Go figger.

          • Young Werther

ha ha it is not easy to *figger* out many things *exactly* (except math), and it is certainly true that our level of expectations in all areas of learning has hit rock bottom Maybe we are all just mucked up from time to time.

          • Emperor Naked

Since the Princess Diane sobfest of 1997 I have had less and less respect for the once great country. It didn’t help that Bush’s poodle Tony Blair didn’t have stones to not go with Bush on Iraq.

    • Hereweald

I’m with you. I’d stay away from the place.

      • Emperor Naked

I’d probably be thrown out within the first 24 hours for saying forbidden words.

  • cecilhenry

This is just like communist Russia or Fascist Germany.

The intimidation and underhanded violence are all there.

Contemptible. Disturbing people don;t see this for what it is. This is government reckless intimidation.

    • http://www.youtube.com/user/Matt1599r Yerip Ian

Germany was never Fascist. It was National Socialist.

      • Emperor Naked

You guys are missing out on the class of definitions. You can be a totalitarian fascist and still be a socialist. Fascism is the rule of a despot rather than through a democratic, electoral process. You neo-nazi types are bending over backwards trying to invent new meanings to fit your proposed version of historic revision, but it’s still false and pure BS.

        • http://www.youtube.com/user/Matt1599r Yerip Ian

I’m not the one inventing new meanings for terms like Fascism. I use it to refer to the specific ideology laid out by Mussolini.

Also, you can’t be a Fascist and not be a socialist, as Fascism is a form of socialism. So is National Socialism, but a different form.

          • Emperor Naked

            You’re chasing your tail.

        • http://www.youtube.com/user/Matt1599r Yerip Ian

I’m neither Fascist nor National Socialist, by the way.

          • Emperor Naked

It doesn’t matter to me. I am aware of young guys that are trying to skew everything, but only succeeding in being slippery, to themselves. There’s an old saying; “If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck (in this case, goose), and quacks like a duck, it’s a duck.

          • http://www.youtube.com/user/Matt1599r Yerip Ian

What a pure load of gibberish. What are your ethnic roots?

        • Hammerstrike

“bending over backwards trying to invent new meanings to fit your proposed version of historic revision, but it’s still false.”

          That is called projection.

  • GB101

Why the outrage over the British officials taking the steps they did. I know they are even handed. I am sure the man would have gotten the same treatment had he joked about Ronald Reagan or George Bush.

    • gemjunior

No, I don’t think so at all.

    • Hereweald

So what? If you think this sort of thing is justified, you are hopelessly stupid.

      • tlk244182

I think GB101 was being sarcastic.

        • Hereweald

If so, my remark, minus the barb, still stands. This is awful. I fear this sort of crap is coming to America.

  • Homo_Occidentalis

    Good night, sweet prince.

  • gemjunior

That is frightening that they have the right to do that in Britain. I wonder what they would do if they got a load of mind! LOL. Btw, that joke was great.

  • Lagerstrom

OK England (and the rest of us quite soon), enough is enough! Forget about sport, television and silly pop music and get out there on the streets. Show yourselves and say a resounding ‘NO’ to this insidious stalinist anti-freedom b/s.

Get out there and yell. Make up some great slogans and march and yell all day Saturday or Sunday.

  • Franklin_Ryckaert

The most outrageous thing of Mandela’s death is not that he has gone to hell, but that even in hell he insists to be admitted into the section that is reserved FOR WHITES ONLY.

  • haroldcrews

Considering what I’ve said about Mandela it looks like I’d better never go to Great Britain. I’d end up with a black bag over my head in customs and that would be the last anyone ever sees of me.

  • Elena Andbasket

The best part of this story is that the idiot ‘Liberal Democrat’ local councillor Tim Jones, who was responsible for maliciously reporting Neil Phillips to the police, in an attempt to have him prosecuted, has only succeeded in having Mr. Phillips’ jokes published for millions to laugh at in local and national newspapers and on web sites around the world. I imagine and hope that that particular councilor will also not be re-elected at the next election.

    • Svigor

If some gov’t boob did this to me, I’d probably feel obliged to give him a real reason to see me in the dock.

  • freddy_hills

‘When they took my computer, I thought, “what the hell are they looking for?”

They were fishing. They wanted to make an example of him and hoped he had something on the computer that they could use.

    • Pro_Whitey

That’s got me thinking that I had better have a laptop destruction plan in place, should the authorities come knocking. But I figure the NSA already has this, so it’s probably not worth wrecking the laptop.

      • freddy_hills

I doubt the NSA would get involved unless you’re very important or involved in something serious. They certainly wouldn’t give the police information for a regular criminal investigation. That would compromise their effectiveness by revealing their capabilities. So it would still be worthwhile to have a way of destroying the contents of your hard drive. It’s more likely that the fbi, police, etc would subpoena records from someone’s internet provider. Or they might subpoena records from a site someone visited that was involved in fraud, identity theft, kiddy porn, etc. I’ve read that the majority of ISP subpoenas are for kiddy porn.

  • Emperor Naked

Well, he committed blasphemy against a god.

All this cult of personality and talk of how much he accomplished in SA. But I must say, I am baffled at all the footage of White South Africans worshiping him, arm and arm with the Bantus.

  • Hereweald

Chilling. This is coming to America. It’s only a matter of time.

  • http://www.amren.com/ Michael Christopher Scott

    Buy British last.

  • stewball

Right to own guns? In England?

    • Dr. X

Until the 1960s or so, yes. The English Bill of Rights of 1688 was the inspiration for the U.S. Bill of Rights. It did allow Protestants the right to own guns.

      • stewball

I don’t remember people walking around with guns? Especially not the cops!
Why only protestants? Why not the Muslims as well – ROTFLMFHO.

    • Emperor Naked

Stewball; the old Irish tune your handle seems to refer to is actually “Skewball.” Thought you might like to know. Steeleye Span did a good version of it.

      • stewball

You’re talking about the racehorse right? This was the name of my first cat and as she was a tortoiseshell the stew came to mind and we loved Lonnie Donogan’s version of it. Her second name was Fawkes. You can guess the reason for that can’t you but thanks for the info anyway. Cheers.

  • Bill

Wow. What was that movie called? Farenheit 451? Where the futuristic Fire Dept. burned books? The future is now, and England is it.

    • Emperor Naked

It was a book by Ray Bradbury first. Books like this and Orwell’s used to warn people of the harm of being too sure of oneself politically and of corruption and the tendencies inherent in government systems. It’s like they were never written or thought about.

  • Carney3

I remember that when Francisco Franco took so long to die that after he finally did, Saturday Night Live did a joke on it: “Generalissimo Francisco Franco is still dead.” Funny, non-political, not tasteless. But Mandela, being non-white and on the Left, is a sacred cow.

  • http://www.amren.com/ Michael Christopher Scott

For my own part, while I never liked the Provisional Irish Republican Army’s socialist stance, I thought their shooting British cops was perfect.

    • Emperor Naked

With you here. The Marxism of IRA is now destroying Ireland. What a waste of effort (lives and lives) to establish the Republic.

  • RyanP

The thought police are REAL. Scary, scary stuff.

  • Emperor Naked

This is the really scary thing. All this ritual going on and no one calls it what it so obviously is and now persecutes blasphemy toward it (Mandela).

  • Emperor Naked

The De Beers company is a Dutch/South African corporation. Too much reliance on the old conspiracy of Jews in everything.

  • Jack Burton

Yet Brits have this pretentious superiority towards Americans and their society is a disgusting Orwellian police state. A society like that needs to be destroyed, I have no respect for them.
