The Shepherds Betray the Flock

David French is claiming that his adopted Ethiopian daughter was called offensive names as he continues to rail against the post-Trump Right. Given the hysteria still surrounding race in this country, there are reasons to doubt this tale — but hey, maybe he can name some names. The bigger problem is that many Christian leaders, including those in conservative denominations, seem determined not to defend their own congregations. Of course, don’t call this self-sacrifice or empathy. Many, like French himself, have profited quite handsomely from their career choices.
