Woman Shoots Up Salon Over $15 Nail Service, Punches Employee: Police

Authorities in Arizona have arrested a woman accused of opening fire on a nail salon after becoming upset over a $15 charge.

Essence Mire, 26, was arrested following the alleged attack at a Phoenix, Ariz., nail salon on Sunday, Aug. 30, Phoenix police confirm to PEOPLE.

Police responded to a report of a shooting at a business near a strip mall on Sunday around 12:30 p.m. During their investigation, police learned Mire became upset about the price of a service at the establishment and allegedly assaulted an employee, Phoenix police tell PEOPLE.

She allegedly punched an employee in the face before walking out and shooting at the salon, causing its glass door to shatter, court paperwork shows.

Mire allegedly told police that she attacked the business in a bid to intimidate salon workers into giving her the nail repair service for free, per the outlet.
