Father Pulls Gun on Teens at Indiantown Bus Stop, NAACP Calls for Action

A confrontation at a school bus stop in Indiantown, where a father pulled a gun on two teenagers after his son reported being bullied, has sparked community discussions and involvement from the NAACP.

The Martin County Sheriff’s Office said the incident began last Thursday when the man’s son reported being bullied. The next day, the father went to the bus stop to drop off his son and started speaking with the bus driver. According to the sheriff, two students then left the bus and confronted the father.

“The dad’s got his hand up, telling them to stay back, stay back, stay back,” said Martin County Sheriff John Budensiek.

The sheriff explained that the father pulled out a concealed weapon when the teens approached him.

“They got all the way up on him before he pulled out a concealed weapon and told them to get back, which he’s legally allowed to do. He’s legally allowed to stand his ground,” Budensiek said.
