French Feminist Sexually Assaulted by Illegal Immigrant for Trying to Defend Two Underage Girls

On october 30th, a 36-year-old woman was sexually assaulted at a train station in Montpellier. The woman was trying to defend two teenage girls from the attacker, who is reportedly already facing a deportation order for a sexual assault charge and is in France illegally. The assailant was later arrested, according to the X post by Collectif Némésis covering the story.

The woman, Vigdis Morisse-Herrera, a businesswoman and outspoken feminist activist, on her commute back home from Sété, noticed two girls being harassed by a man at the train station. She intervened to stop the attacker, who had by then already sexually assaulted one of the girls, aged 17.

The girls attempted to flee by boarding the train, where the woman sat close to them in order to help. Minutes later the attacker showed up again on the train, continuing to harass the girls.

“He stood in front of the girls to have them in sight. When the train arrived in Montpellier, he wanted to follow them. I told him to stop, but he started groping my buttocks. I turned around, grabbed him by the neck and screamed at him,” Morisse-Herrera reported.

Train station workers and local police apprehended the man, and brought him to the police station. The assailant is known to be residing in the area, despite having an OQTF order (Order to Leave French Territory) since 2024.

Morisse-Herrera, a well-known female rights activist, as well as the founder of Opale Care, an organization that offers help to victims of domestic violence, filed a complaint the next day about the incident and is reportedly in contact with the two underage victims as well.

To make matters worse, Morisse-Herrera, as she was walking home from the train station after the incident, was approached by another man, who kept following her and made abusive comments. Luckily, passers by intervened and a woman accompanied her home.

This incident is not an isolated occurrence in France, and mirrors similar situations in other European countries grappling with the consequences of uncontrolled immigration.
