More fallout Friday over the disturbing video of a young boy being attacked by a group of boys. Baltimore County police say they became aware of this video this week, shortly after it surfaced online. Detectives investigated, then charges. Now, more disbelief from the victim’s family.

‘Baltimore County Police have filed charges against five of the eight juveniles involved in a violent assault on a 12-year-old boy, Kayson Longo, at the Kings Mill Apartments in Essex last Friday. The accused are all at least 13 years old or younger.’

The boy’s family says Kayson was visiting a friend at the apartment complex when he was confronted by a classmate who accused Kayson of calling the classmate’s girlfriend a derogatory name.–one that begins with a “B.”
The boyfriend allegedly punched Kayson, then the others–leaving Kayson, badly bruised on his body and head.

Police say charges have now been filed against five of the juveniles that investigators say were directly involved in this assault. Three others, under state law, too young to be charged.

Police also say, based on the investigation, this incident is not believed to be a hate crime.
