Man Eviscerated as a ‘Racist, Misogynistic, Xenophobic Trump Supporter’ at His Funeral Is Billionaire Auto Loans Magnate

Billionaire auto loans magnate Donald Foss is the father who was branded a ‘racist, misogynistic, xenophobic Trump-loving cis-straight white man’ by his own daughter at his funeral, DailyMail.com can reveal.
Foss, who died aged 78 on August 14 from complications from an aggressive form of cancer, was the founder and ex-CEO of the subprime auto loans company Credit Acceptance.
He was named on the 2022 Forbes Billionaires list, and his wealth was estimated at $2 billion at the time of his death.
Twice-married father-of-three Foss was eviscerated by his youngest daughter Samantha, 19, during a eulogy to a crowded auditorium, which was then posted online, garnering nearly 2 million views.
During the tirade, Samantha said their father was ‘everything I aspire not to be’, prompting audible gasps from mourners before a smattering of shocked applause at the end.
DailyMail.com can also reveal that Samantha, who uses they/them pronouns and is a self-described ‘black supremacist’, has been openly bragging about their tirade on social media since posting the eulogy to TikTok last week.
Sources close to the family say Foss was a businessman who was ‘definitely on that side of politics’ and his daughter grew up in a $7.3million mansion in Michigan ‘wanting for nothing’.
Auto industry leaders described Foss as an entrepreneurial icon who epitomized the American Dream.
Foss married Samantha’s mother Constance, after divorcing his first wife, with whom he had two children.
In their eulogy, Samantha told mourners: ‘Dad, before you tell me to respect the dead, please remember that you disrespected and disregarded the lives and deaths of entire communities of people with your ideologies.
‘You told me to never back down so I won’t. You know for a fact that even against you, I’m not afraid to share my piece. You are everything that I aspire not to be.
‘I refuse to stand up here and sing the praises of a man who was the paradigm of white supremacy.
‘So I’ll take your racist mindset, I’ll take your money, I’ll take your advice and I swear to god I will make this world a better place not at all because of you but in exact opposition to you.’
Samantha says online that she attends the private $57,350-a-year Oglethorpe College in Brookhaven, Georgia, where she is taking African American Studies. The family had moved out of their $7.3million home in Franklin, Michigan, in 2020 and moved to a more modest property in Bloomfield Hills.
A source close to the family said they were surprised by the outburst. Speaking to DailyMail.com, they said: ‘He is a businessman who is definitely on that side of politics, but I hardly think she has a case.
‘He dated women of color, he married her mother, if anybody loved a black woman, it was Don.
‘She went to a very diverse high school in Michigan, she played lacrosse and he would go to her games. She didn’t lack for anything.
‘I don’t understand where it is coming from; maybe it is teenage rebellion because it is not coming from her mom.
‘At her graduation, she did the black lives symbol on the stage, with her fist in the air, and there was a bit of pushback from her.
‘It’s very strange that she would do that; it doesn’t make any sense.’
Samantha, who goes by Saginthesun online, characterizes themself as a ‘black supremacist’ on their TikTok, which is full of videos decrying capitalism, discussing racism, and gender fluidity.
Foss created the Don Foss Annual Scholarship in 1998, and the Don Foss Endowed Scholarship in 2015, which have awarded more than 630 scholarships to students pursuing careers in the automotive industry at Northwood University.
In 2016, he established a private fund, Car Dealers Care National Foundation, which gives back to the community through his personal philanthropy and CarRite, a chain of dealerships he founded in 2011.
A Credit Acceptance Corporation (CSCC) spokesman said: ‘Don’s legacy in the automobile industry spans 55 years, beginning in 1967 when he opened his first car lot in Detroit and began selling primarily to customers who did not qualify for traditional financing.
‘His business model was truly innovative and led to him eventually becoming one of the largest used car dealers in the world.
‘Don has left behind a lifetime of hard work, which turned Credit Acceptance into one of the largest auto finance companies in the country.
‘He was truly an American entrepreneurial icon, and his story epitomizes the great American Dream. Don’s death is a great loss, and he will be missed by many.
‘Our deepest condolences to the Foss family and everyone who knew Don.’
Samantha did not respond to requests by DailyMail.com for comment.
Appearing to respond to criticism on their Instagram, they posted a story that said: ‘Friendly reminder that n*** calling a white man racists is literally not newsworthy and y’all need to focus on actual real-world events.’
