Some time ago I taught a group of 16-year-olds a unit titled “Equality and Diversity”. This unit is one of eight units students have to study in order to achieve their BTEC Health and Social Care Level 2 qualification. The class is very ‘vibrant’ with 95% of the students coming from a range of non-British backgrounds. These students know almost nothing of British history or of our rich cultural heritage
I was about halfway through this lesson when an Afro-Caribbean student asked a rather interesting question. She wanted to know which ethnic group had contributed most to the British economy. She informed the class that she had recently read a newspaper article – a revelation to me as she is almost illiterate – about the benefits of Eastern European immigration. This gave rise to a lively debate about immigration; the ‘contributions’ to this debate were most revealing for those of us who are patriots. The general consensus was that British people were lazy, had no culture to speak of and were being kept in the lifestyle to which they had become accustomed because of the hard work of immigrants!
This is an attitude that I have come across many times during my career as a teacher. It is clear to me that many ethnic groups hold us in contempt and have very little respect for us as a people or for our culture and historic achievements. Maybe that is to be expected as the political elite who govern us also have no respect for our cultural heritage and denigrate our historical achievements at every opportunity. What was most painful for me about this lesson however was the fact that a young white English girl in the class — a rarity these days in my neck of the woods — stated quite boldly that:
White people are crap! They are useless at everything: sport, singing, fighting and style, let’s face it, black people are so much better than us.
This, I thought to myself, is the product of a multicultural curriculum: a young white girl robbed of her cultural framework and rich cultural heritage. Here is a young woman whose ancestors created the modern world sitting amongst a group of students whose ancestors have brought only crumbs to the table of civilisation; and she makes that kind of statement without blushing! This is a young white girl who has been dispossessed culturally, demographically and even robbed of any self-respect and national pride.
As previously stated I have seen this many times throughout my career and I know that other teachers have these experiences in their schools and colleges all over Britain. This is what the multiculturalists are doing to our children and it will only get worse as white children become even more of a minority in our schools. They will continue to develop a self-hatred and loathing of their society and they will eventually be marginalised and despised by the increasing hordes of arrogant immigrants who have nothing but contempt for who they are and what they are. We must stop this!
