Violent pro-Trump assailants did not steal a car from a San Diego State University student at the center of the anti-Muslim hate crime investigation—she forgot where she parked it.
The incident supposedly occurred in the aftermath of the presidential election, but has been shut down because the Muslim student has “decided not to pursue charges.”
In what seems like reading from a post-election script, the female student said she had been approached by two men who proclaimed their support for Trump before attacking her and stealing the car.
“They were saying things like, ‘Now that Trump is president get ready to start fleeing.’ They proceeded to push her around and she wrestled with them,” according to the student’s friend.
Similar cases have emerged across the U.S. An almost identical incident was reported at Villanova University, where a student claimed she was accosted and knocked over by several white males who screamed “Trump, Trump, Trump.” That investigation was also dropped after the student declined to cooperate any further.
