David Clarke, Wisconsin Sheriff, Slams NAACP as ‘Political Propaganda Entity for the Left’

Cheryl K. Chumley, Washington Times, January 27, 2015

Sheriff David Clarke, Milwaukee County’s tough-talking, outspoken law enforcement official, called the NAACP an irrelevant “propaganda” tool for the political left and said it was frequently the “behavior of black men,” not racial injustice, that was the cause of much police-community consternation nowadays.

He made the comments during an interview on “Fox & Friends” about the recent St. Paul police shooting of a black suspect who reportedly pointed a gun at police as he fled their grip. Police shot and killed the man, and the NAACP, in response, called for an investigation, saying officers ought to have questioned and interviewed the suspect–despite his show of armed aggression–rather than shot him.

Sheriff Clarke called the shooting “a good shoot,” a “justifiable shooting,” and explained how the man who was shot and killed by police was actually reported to be stalking and making death threats to his former girlfriend. He then issued a sharp rebuke to the NAACP for its response.

“This once proud organization that was a force for good” hasn’t conducted any worthwhile campaigns since 1964, over the Civil Rights Act, he said during the broadcast. “[It’s now] nothing more than a political propaganda entity for the left.”

I’d be more interested in seeing White law enforcement officials standing up and loudly proclaiming the truth. Sometimes I feel blacks in these positions simply do it for show, knowing they’ll get the gullible, naive whites on the right to go along, shouting approval while nothing is actually done to change things. The folks in charge merely chuckle to themselves as they sit back and watch.

    • Arizona’s Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arapio does, and has been pilloried for just that.

      • dd121

He is specifically targeted by Obama’s justice department for trying to enforce the law.

I would suppose that one will find a few real Ruckuses and Pastor Mannings on police forces.

Reuben Greenberg (black with Jewish background) of Charleston SC had some interesting opinions as well.

Some blacks have little tolerance for most of their co-racialists.

      • MBlanc46

I wouldn’t be surprised if a lot of blacks had realist opinions about other blacks. They just keep it to (or among) themselves.

Whether he is sincere or not (I believe he is), his words are still much more refreshing than the alternative. And by his speaking out, it helps to chip away at the notion that these discussions are taboo. For this, I appreciate his candor.

      • No, if you’ve paid attention to the way the mechanisms of manipulation have worked over the past few decades, you would see what’s really happening. What is happening is that it’s being ingrained into the subconscious that it takes black people to stand up for common sense and rational, honest dialogue. White people are either ignored or viciously attacked for saying the exact same things about black people. They lost their jobs, this guy didn’t.

Public outrage isn’t being channeled in a way that will “chip away” at any of the multiracial utopian nonsense that is at the root of the problems in the Western world. White people have been getting more vocal and more fed up without someone like Clarke. If he really deserves some kind of accolades and pats on the back for speaking candidly, then there are probably thousands of White people who deserve it a lot more. He’s a sheriff who’s propped up by a lot of White people. What happens when he doesn’t have that job? What happens when he loses to a White guy?

Unless this guy is talking about innate differences of races, and talking in a positive way about the idea of racially autonomous White countries being okey dokey, then I really don’t care what he thinks about black people. I know plenty of White people who’ve been there, done that, and have been battered and bruised for sticking their necks out to try and shine a light on black depravity and the lies of the multiculty crowd.

I agree with you but would like to comment that I read an Amren thread earlier where a black race realist (chrisx2k6 .) was saying he focuses in talking with pro-diversity whites as he doesn’t think talking with blacks can help, but then some here told/reproached him to work only on his own race. So sometimes for honest black or black race realist, it is a bit of damned if you do, damned if you don’t.

It would be career suicide of white LEOs.

We just had a case here in Colorado. Car full of “teens” in a stolen car, cops approach, 16 yr old female driver tries to run down the cop. They shoot her dead.
There may be bad cops in the world but this was not an example which is how our local leftists are trying to paint it. Why this massive attempt by leftists to discredit the police?

    • Katherine McChesney

      She was Hispanic.

      • dd121

I’m not sure. Haven’t seen a picture of the girl who took the bullet. They all had Hispanic names but the only picture I saw of them and they were all black.

I appreciate his candidness, he is allowed to say this simply because he is black. If a white sheriff said something like this he would be raked over the coals and have to go through all of the ritual shaming postures and penitent apologies to keep his job. Reality is that most of the cops I talk with understand black proclivity to crime to be an empirically verifiable reality which they deal with daily.

For example, this past weekend my car was broken into, the punk smashed my passenger window in and stole my cheap phone and 10$ mp3 player. The cops who showed up to do the report thought it was agreeably funny when I said, “So what do you think the odds are of catching this gentle giant?” If they’ve been on the job for any amount of time they tend to become race realists simply out of the sheer weight of repeated experience.

    • The window will cost you more to replace than what the perp stole.

      • Douglas Quaid

Yep, the whole event gave me a reinvigorated sense of negro fatigue.

        • Spaniard in LA

Next time leave a couple of books inside the car. Books tend to scare them and also works as kryptonite.

          • justa nothernigger

            or job applications

    • MBlanc46

If a white cop had said that, no amount of apologizing and penance would save his job.

  • This guy is one more such comment away from me thinking that every photo of him is photoshopped to make his white skin look light black.

    • propagandaoftruth

He may be of the old Booker T school rather than the W.E.B. type.

Backs like that tend to prefer to avoid politics but there is a limit.

  • Whirlwinder

Wait a minute! Black behavior causes black problems with the police force. What a concept. Why hasn’t anybody thought of this before?

    • Bill Moore

      Hello Whirlwinder,

      Well said.

Yep. Notice I described him as “interesting”.

When Sheriff Clarke ran for re-election last year, his main hurdle was the Democratic Primary. Opposing Clarke was a white liberal who, I think, even studies social work at Marquette U. Mayor Barrett is a white liberal Democrat, and the Chief of Police, whom he appointed, seems of that same mold, too. While Mayor Barrett and P. C. Flynn urge all to turn in their guns, etc., Sheriff Clarke openly tells us to rely on our own resources if in trouble, because police may not arrive in time. Clarke’s message is sensible. Happily, in Wisconsin, Republicans could cross over and vote in the Dem. primary. Clarke won with about 52% of the primary vote – including mine. I may not agree with him on every issue (I think there has been a law suit against some of his affirmative action practices, but he seems a man of integrity and common sense.

  • With the common sense of Dave Clarke, I bet people are feeling ‘glad all over’. {sorry for the excruciatingly poor Dave Clark Five pun}.

  • Katherine McChesney

Sounds like you have a personal ‘beef’ with Sheriff Clarke. And, why do you post as “Guest”?

It was going bankrupt due to internal incompetence and pilfering until George Soros gave them a hot beef infusion of cash. Since then, they’ve been his n**gers, with their knickers down. The leadership making money like back passage hoes at a Las Vegas convention, so expect more of the same.
