We are observing Christmas so today there will be no news.

Try to stay away from Twitter or news stories about Antonio Martin. It’ll only make you angry. Be happy and enjoy the day with your families, fellow Amreners.

    • Usually Much Calmer

And revel in the majesty of Western culture.
I don’t know who Antonio Martin is and I don’t care.
Here is a shot of the interior of Gaudi’s Sagrada Familia.

      • TruthBeTold

I’ve already listened to Mozarts’ Mass in C and now listening to Bachs’ Christmas Oratorio (BWV 248).

        • Usually Much Calmer

Nice. Beauty & meaning are white privilege. We’re paying for them, we might as well enjoy them.

And here is Segovia playing the Chaconne.
We have better things to concern ourselves with, surely!

Look up Tatyana Ryzhkova on YouTube. Merry Christmas.

        • Usually Much Calmer

I did. In the morning I’ll listen to her, thank you Ludwig.

    • richard garyson

I agree. I tried to have a conversation with a black man on Twitter about this case and it went no where.

  • DLRisVH

Merry Christmas to all and to all, keep up the good fight.

    • TruthBeTold

I’m dreaming of a White Christmas.

      • Nancy

        You and me both, Truth.

We decided to go out to Golden Corral for dinner tonight. We live in Gwinnett County, GA, about 40 min northeast of Atlanta. The restaurant is at LEAST 50% Negro, maybe more, and we deliberately chose one in the “whitest” area within a 20 minute drive.

God willing, it’s our LAST Christmas in this ghetto city. Utah or bust!

Many blessings to my Amren family.

        • antiquesunlight

Yeah, they love Golden Corral. Even the nicer restaurants hire so many black waiters it makes me want to stay home. I went to Cafe Intermezzo on Peachtree for lunch a couple weeks ago and nearly the entire wait staff was black (most of the customers were white). After I’d been sitting there for ten minutes, some little black dude appeared out of nowhere, bent right in my face, and said, “Whatchya have, man?” Not exactly the “mood” I was looking for when I went there.

          • Usually Much Calmer

Dining out has become surreal for me for this reason. You look around at a roomful of white people seemingly enjoying themselves and you wonder what is wrong with you that your standards are no where close to being met.

          • anony

After reading and talking to people about what “goes on” in the kitchens of even “nice” restaurants, I pretty much have sworn off of eating out. I will absolutely NOT eat fast food…ever! I will, instead, go hungry if need be.

Happily, one of my favorite things to do is to entertain at home with small dinner parties or to be entertained at the homes of others. Much more enjoyable and intimate than restaurants.

      • Alexandra1973

        It’s green over here. LOL

        • Anglokraut

          Sandy brown where I live.

          • Pathfinder75

It’s sandy brown where I live,as well. But that’s because of all the Mexicans living in my neighborhood.

            And city.

            And county.

            And state.

            ; (

          • Anglokraut

I live in the southeastern quadrant of the central Arizona valley; everything is sandy brown: houses, landscaping, people. Even my dogs–but it’s a good look on them.

    Merry Christmas!!

Quebec City Canada is incredibly beautiful. A couple pics I took just a few days ago.

And Quebec City is incredibly politically incorrect. I see beautiful Christmas trees everywhere I go.

    • Screamin_Ruffed_Grouse

You’ve just successfully added Quebec to the list of cities I’d like to visit. Merry Christmas.

      • Anglokraut

Oh, it’s great! I was there for Valentine’s Day a few years ago, right during Carnival; the light displays were marvelous!

      • Batterytrain

He is a gook, if anything you should stay away from areas with a heavy Asiatic population.

      • Batterytrain

Sometimes i don’t understand the stupidity of people on Amren in regards to Gooks. Comments and responses like these exemplify that! It’s great my Christmas has been ruined by the corrosion of the aftertaste of this happenstance…..

      • Whiteplight

Story of a Koran guy working his way into the shrinking conclave of French Quebecois. As one nationalist Quebecois, I don’t see the joy in this situation.

        • jayvbellis

Koreans are some of the nicest, least hostile non Whites. Don’t see Koreans sexually grooming,,raping poor a English girls in Yorkshire like the Paki Muslims.

          • Anglokraut

Well, South Koreans, anyway. North Korean is a whole different breed.

          • Paleoconn

They’re the same stock. Just that Norks could be a security threat, and may look different due to malnutrition.

        • Screamin_Ruffed_Grouse

It was more the pictures than anything else. And I just want to visit, so cool your jets.

          • Korean guy

Yes you will have an unforgettable time in Quebec City.

Some folks need to chill out a little bit. You only stated you want to pay a visit to Quebec City in the future, nothing more. There was no need to think deep into your post or try to analyze if you have any other motive in your mind.

On top of that, it is supposed to be the most beautiful and most wonderful time of the year when everyone is happy, giving presents and opening presents.

        • Paleoconn

I think he’s studying there. Anyway, Koreans aren’t the type to overrun an area. Immigrants of this type in small numbers are hardly a problem. Of course, I’d rather have Whites, but this type of Asian beats any browns or blacks.

    • Daniel McGrath

Went through airport in Quebec. My lord were the women pretty. That nice dark French look. Real old school French. That was just the madamoiselles in the airport.

      • Guest

A guy who has visited most of the countries in Europe told me French women are more beautiful than Swedish women.

        • Bill Moore

          Hello,

I go more for nice than beauty.

It’s the Ukrainian women for me.

          Bill Moore

      • Korean guy

On the evening of the Christmas eve at my church during the Christmas Eve service, I saw a young, brunette woman with that exact “nice dark French look” you mentioned, and she made me wonder, “How can a person be that beautiful?” she looked more beautiful than most models I have ever seen in my life. And she did not look “snobbish” or “cold” at all either. No I did not hit on her or take pictures of her. Hitting on a woman or taking photos inside the church is clearly prohibited.

    • Tacitus1

a lovely city for sure ! Perhaps the prettiest city in North America architectural wise.

    • Batterytrain

But you are Korean, you are a gook, as far as i am concerned you are part of the enemy. Canada has an Asian immigrant problem and so you need to GTFO there! Koreans are absolutely the rudest of the gook variety! I mean your people eat dogs, and you expect Europeans to respect you loll?

    • Korean guy

My roommates were cooking happily in the kitchen,

and they placed several wine bottles on the table.

They were preparing a traditional French Christmas dinner!

I did not know about it at all, and I felt I was not invited to the dinner.

It was totally fine with me if they were not going to invite me. I was going to understand.

I am an adult now, and on top of that, I am a guy.

Guys do not get emotionally hurt as easily as girls do if they are not invited to parties or gatherings.

If I was not invited, I was not going to take it seriously,

and I was simply going to spend my evening saying Merry Christmas to others over the Internet in my room.

And when they were ready to eat, they told me to come and join.

It was the first traditional French Christmas dinner ever in my life,

And yes it was one of the greatest meals I ever had in my life.

Yes it was a course meal, just as I read about traditional French meals in the past. And yes it was a pure delight.

In North America and Asia, “desert” is something optional and “something cool to have”

but in traditional French meals, it is a must. It is wrong not to have a desert.

I also learned during our meal that residents in France can attend French Canadian schools for the same prices as prices that domestic Canadian students pay, which explains why there are a lot of students who were born in France but studying at my school.

One of my roommates told me during our meal that he would love to simply live in Canada indefinitely.

Once again – it was one of the greatest decisions to come to Quebec City in my life!

      • Whiteplight

Okay, but don’t you understand that by 1. Not being white, and 2. not being French or Quebecois you are bringing in the seeds of its very destruction?

        • Korean guy

Mais monsieur Je suis sur vous etes sur… 1. there are ten times more blacks than Asians a le Ville de Quebec. 2. Asian women date and marry white men five times more than white women date Asian men in English-speaking parts of the Western world.

About 10% of all comments written at me on AmRen is, “You are not helping whites survive, please leave the Western world” and I am used to it by now.

There are also quite a few foreign students in South Korea. They are neither ever asking South Korea to submit to their own culture nor asking Korea to change its own culture nor demanding South Korea starts serving them their own traditional food.

          • Junis

You’re highly intelligent. This can be determined simply by your proficiency in the language you are using. Btw, I am non-white and of South Asian descent. I find this website interesting because you can find out what the ideology is of far right pig-racists. Btw, Christianity wasn’t started in Europe, it was started in the Middle East.

          • David Ashton

In England Koreans have colonized New Malden. If this small, respectable ethnocentric minority with its quality culture were alone in the UK, we would be more appreciative of its presence, but it merely adds in practice to the multicultural kaleidoscope that is likely to reduce the White English to a minority in their own ancestral homeland in the near future. Students, tourists and traders are quite different from long-term settlers who have left countries of their own. Some of my older compatriots served in Korea to prevent its total communization, and risked life and limb. Cyberwarfare is the new threat, and if North Korea attacks western computers again, the US should put its entire military cyber-complex out of action.

    • Magician

“Foreigner” itself is a neutral thing. There are very few things in this world which are absolutely negative, or absolutely positive for all situations. Is a knife a bad thing? No, a knife can be used to save someone’s life if it is in the hand of a surgeon. Is a gun a bad thing? No, the gun that was used by officer Darren Wilson, or the gun that was used by another police officer who was forced to shoot the person who pointed his own gun at him, saved the police officers’ lives.

Many things in this world are neutral. What really matters is what we do with them. Immigration itself, is also neutral. For example, Sweden only has 9 million people, but it keeps on importing refugees from the poorest parts of this world who will simply live on the generous Swedish welfare system for the rest of their lives, and the Swedish welfare system might collapse in the not so distant future. Also, the type of immigrants Sweden vigorously imports, are muslim, and they are not interested in respecting the Nordic culture one bit.

Immigration cannot hurt the hosting country, if it is properly controlled, the hosting country makes sure it respects its own native people first and foremost, the immigrants do not cause its own native people any trouble, and its original culture is respected by the immigrants and maintained by everyone in the country.

Merry Christmas from “Down Under” to all of my fellow Amren readers, supporters and contributors.
Of course it is midsummer in this part of the world, often hot and humid or dust and flies but we all enjoy our Christmas trees, scenes of snow and nativity scenes. It is always regarded as a great time for families to get together, kids to enjoys presents or to simply wish each other a Merry or Happy Christmas. (Some of us also like to shop till we drop.)
May we always keep the word “Christmas” in Christmas!
I notice my Google opening screen had a picture of a women driving her sleigh pulled by a reindeer with 3 kids on the back, the kids were of indeterminate gender, one white, one brown and one black. Of course the caption just said ” tis the season”. What season? Why must Google and so many other companies just have to be so PC and not mention “Christmas”. Are we now all so brainwashed that we in the Western are now frightened to even mention words associated our traditions for fear of offending ethnic minorities? (Yet our politicians will be out there in force in front of the TV cameras to be part of Ramadan or Chinese New Year Celebrations, strange!)
Anyhow, not the time for politics, again Happy Christmas.

Ironically, I work with different countries who are rogue and anti-christian, such as China and Pakistan. My associates there always say “Merry Christmas”. Liberals hate whites and Christians the most.

  • Are we losing sight of the real true meaning of Christmas?

What I’m driving at is that I’m not at all liking how some people have been trying to make Christmas more spiritual in recent years. All this talk about Christ and Peace on Earth is taking away from the real traditions of Christmas, the ability of second-rate accessories stores at the mall to show black ink. It’s not really the holiday season until BOTH Claire’s and Icing By Claire’s start posting quarterly profits.

I mean, just because some dude was born about 2,000 years ago whose name just happens to sound like “Christmas” isn’t grounds for religious fanatics to ruin a perfectly good commercial holiday. All he ever did was get himself croaked on some piece of wood, then a couple of people supposedly saw him running around a few days later then ascend to the sky. And I bet that was all Santa Claus’s doings, not his. Now, you want a real God to celebrate this time of year? You can’t beat a fat guy who wears a red suit who got domesticated caribou to fly, who gets midgets to work together peacefully, who turned an unstable polar ice shelf into a home, and is the most revered guy who only works one night a year in human history. Now that’s worthy of deification.

Look at all the commercial history of Christmas that threatens to get lost in all this religious psychobabble: The Ancient Egyptians had Pyramid City (“Three convenient locations in Giza”), which had so many loincloths for sale that they were literally stacked to the slanted ceilings. The Acropolis was really hopping in Ancient Greece: If you think Barnes & Noble is great today, then you should have seen Plato & Aristotle at the Mall of Acropolis back in the day — They couldn’t keep philosophy books on the shelves during the month of December. And, those mall concierges that wore silver plated helmets with upside down curved scrubbing brushes attached to the headplate were really helpful — Nice touch. But none of those could hold a candle to Pantheon in Ancient Rome, truly the Wal-Mart of its day. You could get anything and everything there: Season tickets to the chariot races and gladiator events, horses appointed as Senators, the bones of sacrificed religious fanatics, the same kind threatening to ruin our Christmas today, and I hear you could get very good deals on slightly fire-damaged fiddles. The only catch with the season tickets was this: The Christmas shopping season was also the free agent signing season, and it made for an unstable market in both the ticket and merchandising business if a superstar driver like Joshius Hamiltonius left the Blues to sign a multi-million denarius deal with the Whites.

If these Christ people want a holiday to take over, let ‘em take over the Fourth of July. Yeah, it’s a nice commerical holiday, but it doesn’t have the commercial steam that Christmas has. The Fourth of July was established as a holiday in 10th Century China to commemorate the invention of fireworks, and it was only later that the market for grillable meat, grilling accessories and eventually, in the late 18th Century, curiously tri-colored cloth rectangles, came to be associated with it. Or, better yet, give ‘em Easter — That’s a stupid holiday anyway, when people celebrate mammals that lay eggs, when everybody knows that mammals give live births.

    • Magician

You should watch “Charlie Brown Christmas” and “The Grinch” starring Jim Carrey.

      • IstvanIN

Jim Carey is NOT on our side. And not a very talented actor, he is limited to playing the lunatic to put it nicely.

    • TruthBeTold

Over the years, I have increasingly shunned the modern, now ubiquitous ‘Santa’ Christmas. I now only go for a simple traditional manger and religious themed Christmas music and not the pop, pseudo-christmas music (most written by non-Christians). A tree with lights and topped with an angle with a trumpet is also inspirational for me; that’s as modern as I get.

If the song doesn’t say Christmas or make reference to Jesus, it’s not a Christmas song.

    • Speedy Steve

Earth Day is April 22, also Lenin’s birthday. Cinco de Maio is Karl Marx’ birthday. So happy belated Stalin’s birthday — December 18th! How do we Whites turn this into nose-tweaking fun against the parlor pinkos?

    • The Dude

I’m not into the religious stuff, but don’t like the commercial part either. The whole spending money on people I don’t like to give them stuff they don’t want, with all the time wasted in shops and malls and pressure to find the right things… that’s gotta stop. It’s just a nightmare.

I do appreciate brief meet-ups and the overall ambience though.

      Hello,

I was part of a group of about twenty soldiers in the US Army in 1961-1962 that manned the Helmstedt checkpoint on the Autobahn when the Berlin Wall went up.

We were in close contact with the Russian soldiers on the other side of the wall.

We (the Russian solders on the other side) and the US Army soldiers on our side discussed playing a game of football on a certain Sunday. We were going to cross the border on a Sunday afternoon, and have at it.

Unfortunately Washington DC got wind of it, and ordered us not to do it.

I always wondered if something good would have come out of it if we had gone to the Russian side for a game of Sunday afternoon football, and then on the US side the following Sunday, and so forth.

      I’ve often thought about that.

      Just My Thoughts,

Merry Christmas everyone. Not that I want to ‘talk shop’ on a day like today, but I thought I’d share this round the table Christmas family discussion experience I had yesterday, on Christmas (in my time zone at least).

Following our repast, I got talking with my cousin (liberal humanist geek sort of outlook) about politics and the nature of conservatism. He was essentially clueless about what conservatism is all about, he seemed to think that ‘conservatives’ were all right, but the neoconservative ones are the ‘racist and sexist’ ones (I know, it defies belief). I then set him on the straight and narrow, saying that the neocons are simply internationalists and even though they are economically conservative they aren’t in any real opposition to cultural left values, and even defended the notion that there are biological, race differences in IQ, and temperament, civilisation being to a large extent a product of genetics, etc.

He then proceeded to tell me that he knew of one former ‘racist’ who spent time with black officers in WWII or Korea, can’t recall which, who then changed his mind about them, saying they were every bit as good as whites if not better, and that was his ‘proof’. He also mentioned Obama. But here’s the bit I wanted to share in particular: He then said that in his psychology studies (in Australia, we’re talking, I think it was a graduate diploma in that he did), that they showed him studies that ‘proved that there are no race differences in IQ’. I then said all the studies I had seen or heard of said the exact opposite. His partner, a benighted, haughty libtard if ever there were one, who was sitting on the couch and eavesdropping on our conversation, kept interjecting, indignantly saying ‘ do you even know what science is??’ and that studies she’d seen said the same thing, that there are no race differences in IQ, and that was that. They said it with total confidence, as though there was NO evidence to the contrary. We basically had to end it there, as a relative of mine who knew what we were discussing wanted us to discontinue the discussion, probably for good reason, given the occasion it was.

Now obviously if a university taught its undergraduates that there are in fact race differences in IQ, the libtards would be onto them in a heartbeat and it would cause a national scandal. I am curious though, which studies could they be referring to? I didn’t think of asking at the time, and I might find out more by messaging him, which I plan to do after hearing a few pointers from you guys on how to best respond. Evidently there are IQ studies which don’t show differences in IQ between races out there that universities take seriously, and present them to students as settled science. The question is, are they for real or fraudulent, or is it just in the interpretation of the results, the devil is in the detail so to speak? Thanks guys!

    • Northern American-Nationalist

I’m not sure, but I don’t trust social academia to produce credible (honest) studies or analysis.

Case in point, in my “Race and Racism” class back at the University of Florida a few years ago, various evidence was shown to support the notion that race is not a valid biological category, but one IQ distribution of White and Black workers stuck with me.

This biracial workforce at a shipyard, or something blue-collar, had an even quantity of Whites and Blacks at various IQ levels, so the races are equal was the idea, right? Only years later did it dawn on me that the various qualifications for hiring must bring in those ranges and quantities of IQs regardless of the proportion of Blacks or Whites who display them. Recruitment acts like an IQ filter in essence. It was probably the only time IQ was brought up as any kind evidence of course.

      • Sick of it

It’s the difference between a “cultural anthropologist” and a physical anthropologist. One uses feel good lies based upon hot air, the other uses forensic evidence. Notice the quotes around the first category, as a real student of culture seeks to actually understand various peoples and their viewpoint, not project some liberal nonsense onto them.

    • Anna Tree

      1) I would ask for their studies and find some Amren articles and comments debunking them (like Gould for example.)
And I would give them Murray, Rushton or simple articles like “Why the British Are Free-Thinking and the Chinese Love Conformity: It’s All in the Genes Claim Scientists” from the Daily Mail, or news.sciencemag org/biology/2014/10/genes-dont-just-influence-your-iq-they-determine-how-well-you-do-school

      2) If they are atheists, maybe this could put the foot in the door:
“Evolution doesn’t only affect “unimportant” traits like skin color, hair texture, etc. This is utterly silly. Natural selection would act most upon those traits that were most beneficial to a population’s survival (ie intelligence, genetic influences on various behaviors and attitudes, etc).

Anthropology points to the fact that pre-human hominids differed from each other in brain size more than in any other trait. This told me that natural selection was operating most on the brain. For each hominid it was always important to note the average ccs of the brain case. However, once the h0mm0 sapiens, we are supposed to pretend that none of that mattered anymore. Evolution never gives you more of something than you must have (mutations are expensive, so to speak) – but we are supposed to believe that all of us have just as much brainpower as Marilyn vos Savant (and it would be revealed if only we were to spend more on education).

This is the essense of liberal creationism. Every barrio orphan can be an Einstein, every hood rat can be a Heisenberg — it’s just racism and the tyranny of low-expectations that keeps aborigines from discovering the secrets of cold fusion and dark matter.” (From KevinPhillipsBong)

      3) – “As soon as blacks were not discriminated against athletically they excelled. As soon as Jews were not discriminated against intellectually and academically they excelled. After the civil rights legislation was signed black rates of crime and illegitimacy increased. There was a slight convergence in black and white academic performance, but that has stopped.”

      – “The paleolithic way of life was much more violent than the neolithic way of life, which in turn was more violent than urban civilization. In a paleolithic environment, and to a lesser extent in a neolithic environment the best hunters and warriors had the most wives. Consequently the best killers had the most children.

In an urban civilization most men do not fight in wars. The most intelligent become successful merchants, money lenders, government officials, and so on. They live better lives and have more children who survive and reproduce.

The longer a racial population has practiced agriculture and civilization the higher its average intelligence is likely to be, the higher its socioeconomic level is likely to be and the lower its rate of violent crime.
      (From Engelman)

      4) If they like history and geography:

Bring in third worlders, and the West turns third world. People shape a country, not the contrary. It is THE PEOPLE that make a society, not land or resources:
“- We firebombed Tokyo, leveled the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki with atomic weapons, and just deconstructed the military of the Japanese. The Japanese, according to pity culture in America should be doing horrible in the world standings of GDP per capita, levels of education, health care and so on. Also, they have little land mass and relatively little in natural resources compared to other nations and have a large population. But just look at them … . That is what hard work, focus, and sacrifice will get you in two short generations. Lo and behold! Japanese are non-white. Japanese privilege can’t be blamed!
      – Iceland is just below the Arctic circle, heavily glaciated, with few natural resources except some decent fishing offshore, the country has 100% literacy and a high standard of living. ”
      – On the contrary, Myanmar is persistently poor, despite its wealth of natural resources such as metal ores and natural gas. Same for Africa.

If the liberal leftists were right, then Japan should be one of the poorest countries in the world, and sub-Sahara Africa should be a very rich place.

      5) The truth is clear, even if it is sad and harsh. Races are evolutionary constructs. We are evolved differently due to different environment and climate, different adaptations and mutations, different hominin mates and population pressures. There are no superior race but some races will be better than others in this thing and in this thing it may be another race that will be better. The same way you cannot say a banana is superior to an orange, you cannot say a race is superior to another. That said, banana has more potassium than the orange and the orange has more vitamin C. That’s just nature. Human races have similar differences.

Are Pit Bulls the same as Golden Retrievers? Sure they are both dogs, but they have very different temperaments, build, and strength. Would you call someone a “breedist” for suggesting that Pit Bulls are more muscular and more dangerous than Poodles? Or that Border collies and retrievers are the most intelligent than Afghan hounds? But with all that and still you can’t say that a retriever is superior to an Afghan hound, they are just different.

We are evolved differently due to different environment and climate,
different adaptations and mutations, different hominin mates and
population pressures. Before I found out, like you, I never thought about that. But it is logic, animals and plants have evolved differently, why wouldn’t humans too? If our skin and hair, even the bacteria of our mouth is different, the Occam’s Razor logic says our brains evolved differently too.

I am not racist because I don’t think any race is superior. The human races are diverse and beautiful, each a product of millions of years of adaptation to their environment and their diversity makes us humans strong. There are not one superior to the others, we should be all equals in front of the Law. Evolution though have made us different and we have different abilities and qualities etc. Some races will be better than others in this thing and in this thing it may be another race that will be better.

The same way you cannot say a banana is superior to an orange, you cannot say a race is superior to another. That said, banana has more potassium than the orange and the orange has more vitamin C. That’s just nature. Human races have similar differences.

      6) Evidences that races exists:

Please read “Is it in the genes?” from sportsillustrated do [t] cnn : “Generally accepted research has shown that African-American children tend to have denser bones, narrower hips, bigger thighs, lower percentages of body fat, and longer legs in relation to their upper bodies than white kids, and tests have also shown that they run faster and jump higher” (Clearly it is okay and not racist to say “The best athletes on the planet are black.”, stating the best mathematicians are whites is racist though).

There are many other differences between races. For example, websearch the thesis “Secular Change in the Skull between American Blacks and Whites”, there it is says “blacks exhibited certain “typical” Negroid characteristics in guttered nasal sills, small nasal spine, wide total nasal form, presence of molar crenulations, posterior ramus inversion, pronounced alveolar prognathism, venous markings, and a vertical chin profile. Whites tended to have a narrow nasal bridge, no posterior ramus inversion, a prominent chin, sharp nasal sills, large nasal spine, and a narrow nasal form. These traits tended to be specific
to each racial group and can be used to distinguish between American whites and blacks.” The completely politically correct thesis writer repeats a few times that there is no races but can’t help to constantly points to many facts that prove that races exist! Differences between brains has also been studied, like size, weights, fissuration etc There are also biological and hormonal differences between races. There is lifelong differences in hemoglobin levels between blacks and whites (US National Library of Medicine etc). Blacks have higher estradiol levels (JCEM etc) and larger and more active apocrine glands etc. And of course
have more melanin – which gives skin its color. Prof. Watson argued that extracts of melanin – which gives skin its color – had been found to boost subjects’ s exdrive, one of the hypotheses explaining blacks’ earlier and stronger se xu ality.

We are different in the outside and in the inside. Differences explain the racial disparity in certain diseases or in abilities, sportive or intellectual etc etc. These are facts, this is not racism, as it is not sexism when Harvard’s President Summers suggested that the under-representation of women in science and engineering could be due to a “different availability of aptitude at the high end,” and less to patterns of discrimination and socialization.

Gender and intelligence, like race and intelligence, are both politically incorrect. Politically incorrect issues are so sacred, that they must be protected at all times from anyone who doesn’t proclaim their sacredness. Society censures scientific debates on politically incorrect issues as much as religions did regarding their dogmas. Fortunately society doesn’t burn heretics, nowadays they are only
      cursed, ostracized and fired.

      7) Theologian and political science:

I am ready to change my mind, please bring evidences contradicting what I
wrote and evidence that races don’t exist, that it is a social construct (although even a baby knows races exists, see ABC documentary).

“This is why political liberalism is the new Creationism. Every ideology abhors science, because science only knows truth.

Political views must not hinder science, the West has a hard enough problem with religious views.

The dominant elites are always intent on suppressing dissent to the dogma of the day, because the dominant dogma always reinforces the power of the elite. They are frequently quite successful. Science on the other hand is based on facts. Of course, sciences allows new facts to be discovered and added to mankind’s compendium of knowledge.

Once in the past, the scary idea of the day was the heliocentric solar system and the earth orbiting the sun. Galileo Galilei (and others) demonstrated that the dogma of the day was wrong. Since this undermined the dogma (and power) of the church it was unacceptable. Galileo was prosecuted, threatened with torture, and placed under house arrest for the rest of his life.

In our time, the scary ideas are race as a biological/genetic fact and the existence of group differences. Of course, these ideas challenge the dominant elite orthodoxies of “diversity”, multiculturalism, white guilt, Open Borders, etc. Hence, every effort must be made to suppress them.

However, science isn’t that friendly to anyone’s ideas. Research of the last few decades has established the biological/genetic basis for race. All of this is deeply threatening to the elite establishment as it clings to its preferred worldview and policies. Worse it is a threat to their power. So they claim that there is no race, that there is only a different tone of skin color.

Galileo said it all. “Eppur si muove” – And yet it moves.

      And yet, there are races.

      7) Understanding how and why people are different is a fundamental part of being able to improve humanity as a whole. I think it is obvious that there are people (of every race) that are superior to their peers (think of astronaut screening). The goal should be to elevate everyone to that level, but how can we do that if we ignore genetic differences…

The idea that human intelligence is ‘magical’ is pathetic. It has a physical base like everything else in existence.

If Richwine, Murray and Herrnstein, or other proponents of nature over nurture as an explanation for the differing IQ distributions of various racial or ethnic groups (noted since the time of Lewis Terman) are to be disproved, the only way it can be done is by showing us the evidence against it.

“You denounce these researchers not for scientific errors but for heresy against the prevailing orthodoxy of political correctness. Ultimately, this appeals only to those who, like you, are willing to put belief before evidence, dismissing any evidence that does confirm your belief as unworthy. This is not science – it is theology. You and Cardinal Bellarmine share a mode of thinking, and its weakness is that it permits those who disagree with you guys to respond to your condemnation – whether we be factually right or wrong – again with “eppur si muove.”

How about we let the scientific process do its work?

      8) On other connected issues:

The fact that I like my children doesn’t mean that I detest all the other children. I like my race (and by the way the black love their race and the Hispanics love their race etc… if it is not racist to have Black Pride and La Raza, why is it racist that some whites like the white Race and are proud of it as well?), I like my race but I don’t detest the other races. Actually I am the one who really like diversity.

Diversity is beautiful, I love all the races, they are all special in their own ways, each have their qualities and defaults, diversity protects us, diversity is adaptation, like diversity in the flora and fauna is positive too, it is why I understand that mixing the races is a bad idea, not only they fight because they are different, but it is a bit strange that you all are praising diversity in our cities and the mixing up, but isn’t mixing us up destroying diversity? Diversity is taught that it is so sacred, that it must be protected at all times from anyone who doesn’t proclaim its sacredness. If diversity is so wonderful, why are so many “anti-racist” ideologues in such a hurry to eliminate diversity through racial assimilation? So sad…

We need those differences, they are adaptations. At the same time, as Hispanics love their race or Chinese theirs, I, Whites, have the right to love their race! Why the White is the only racist when he loves his races? Why is it normal for a Black to have a Black pride or a Black month etc but if the White does the same, he is a KKK?!? The thing is there are a billion of Chinese, a billion of Blacks, a billion of Indians but we are a few hundred millions AND our genes are recessif.
With mixing, there will still be Chinese and Blacks etc, but the White race will disappear. Maybe you don’t care, I care. But strangely I am racist to care and you
      are not?

Do you have to deal with this person more than a few hours on family-oriented holidays? If not, just leave it alone! If not, JUST LEAVE IT ALONE! Trust me on this one: the LAST people you want to try to convert are family. Instead, rely on the graceful art of “small talk.”

If, heaven forbid, you have to work and/or LIVE with this person, advising you as to how you can politely livre with this long-term is way above my pay grade. I personally would be quietly looking for a new housemate and/or a new job… but that’s just me.

I wish you success with this, however YOU PERSONALLY define “successs”!

Thanks for all your replies, yes am in Qld. I know it was a risky move, but I have had my differences with this relative before and I have little to lose. We only see each other a few times a year, so we aren’t that close. I have posted similar anti liberal views on his facebook posts before but he never gives a proper response (quite typical of him), so I am going to continue the discussion by email addressing him personally. I’ll press him further on exactly which study, by whom and what year, so it can be assessed on its merits, or seeming lack thereof. Will update the thread if and when I hear back. His partner I can’t stand, so now at least I don’t need to pretend to like her anymore. Apparently she doesn’t have a university degree at all, but acts as though she’s a PhD.

It’s not so much a case of trying to convert, its more exposing ignorance and hypocrisy. I can’t let them get away with actually thinking they have science or even reason on their side. I got a very comprehensive reply also by ‘Anna T’ which came to my email, but is not showing up here for some reason…

      • Anna Tree

Yes, I will try to post it again. Sorry if this is a bit messy:

        —- 1) Exchange of ideas:

I would ask for their studies and find some Amren articles and comments debunking them (like Gould for example.)
(I am very interested to see their studies too: hey I would love to go back
to believe heaven does exist and there is one race etc.)

And I would give them Murray, Rushton or simple articles like “Why the
British Are Free-Thinking and the Chinese Love Conformity: It’s All in the
Genes Claim Scientists” from the Daily Mail, or
        news sciencemag org/biology/2014/10/genes-dont-just-influence-your-iq-they-determine-how-well-you-do-school

—- 2) If they are atheists, maybe this could put the foot in the door:

“Evolution doesn’t only affect “unimportant” traits like skin color, hair texture, etc. This is utterly silly. Natural selection would act most upon those traits that were most beneficial to a population’s survival (ie
intelligence, genetic influences on various behaviors and attitudes, etc).

Anthropology points to the fact that pre-human hominids differed from each other in brain size more than in any other trait. This told me that natural selection was operating most on the brain. For each hominid it was always important to note the average ccs of the brain case. However,
once the homo sapiens, we are supposed to pretend that none of that
mattered anymore. Evolution never gives you more of something than you must have (mutations are expensive, so to speak) – but we are supposed to believe that all of us have just as much brainpower as Marilyn vos Savant (and it would be revealed if only we were to spend more on education).

This is the essence of liberal creationism. Every barrio orphan can be an
Einstein, every hood rat can be a Heisenberg — it’s just racism and the
tyranny of low-expectations that keeps aborigines from discovering the secrets of cold fusion and dark matter.” (From KevinPhillipsBong)

—- 3) If they like anthropology:

        – “As soon as blacks were not discriminated against athletically they
excelled. As soon as Jews were not discriminated against intellectually and academically they excelled. After the civil rights legislation was
signed black rates of crime and illegitimacy increased. There was a
slight convergence in black and white academic performance, but that has stopped.”

        – “The paleolithic way of life was much more violent than the neolithic
way of life, which in turn was more violent than urban civilization. In a
paleolithic environment, and to a lesser extent in a neolithic environment the best hunters and warriors had the most wives. Consequently the best killers had the most children.
In an urban civilization most men do not fight in wars. The most intelligent

socioeconomic level is likely to be and the lower its rate of violent crime.
        (From Engelman)

—- 4) If they like history, economics and geography:

It is the people that make a society, not land or resources:
“- We firebombed Tokyo, leveled the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki with atomic weapons, and just deconstructed the military of the Japanese. The Japanese, according to pity culture in America should be doing horrible in the world standings of GDP per capita, levels of education, health care and so on.

If the liberal leftists were right, then Japan should be one of the poorest
countries in the world, and sub-Sahara Africa should be a very rich
        place.

—- 5) Simple down to earth logic:

The truth is clear, even if it is sad and harsh. Races are evolutionary
constructs. We are evolved differently due to different environment and
climate, different adaptations and mutations, different hominin mates and
population pressures. There are no superior race but some races will be

But it is logic, animals and plants have evolved differently, why wouldn’t humans too? If our skin and hair, even the bacteria of our mouth is different, the Occam’s Razor logic says our brains evolved differently too.

I do not think that races are “superior” or “inferior” to each other. That
is not how biology works. If athleticism is used as the gauge for “superior”
then Blacks would be superior. If intelligence is being used as the gauge
for “superior” then East Asians would be superior. I don’t believe one race is superior to another, but neither do I believe that we’re all identical creatures, nor do I believe that eons of isolated breeding gave rise to no significant genomic differences. The organisms are suited to the environment in which they evolved. Environmental displacement often produces difficulties for such organisms.

The human races are diverse and beautiful, each a product of millions of
years of adaptation to their environment and their diversity makes us humans strong. There are not one superior to the others, we should be all equals in front of the Law. Evolution though have made us different and we have different abilities and qualities etc. Some races will be better
than others in this thing and in this thing it may be another race that
        will be better.

        —- 6) Even more simplistic:

The same way you cannot say a banana is superior to an orange, you cannot say a race is superior to another. That said, banana has more potassium than the orange and the orange has more vitamin C. Are Pit Bulls the same as Golden Retrievers? The idea that human intelligence is ‘magical’ is pathetic. It has a physical

Please read “Is it in the genes?” from sportsillustrated do [t] cnn

the planet are black.”, stating the best mathematicians are whites is
        racist though).

And if you feel him uneased or objecting this is controversial or racist:
Yesterday the dissidents were called heretics, today they are called racists, homophobic, islamophobic, sexist etc

“You denounce these researchers not for scientific errors but for
heresy against the prevailing orthodoxy of political correctness. Ultimately, this appeals only to those who, like you, are willing to put belief before evidence, dismissing any evidence that does confirm your belief as unworthy. This is not science – it is theology. You and Cardinal
Bellarmine share a mode of thinking, and its weakness is that it permits
those who disagree with you guys to respond to your condemnation –
whether we be factually right or wrong – again with “eppur si muove.”

How about we let the scientific process do its work?

        10) To ease the conversation:

The fact that I like my children doesn’t mean that I detest all the other
children. I like my race (and by the way the black love their race and the
Hispanics love their race etc… if it is not racist to have Black Pride and La
Raza, why is it racist that some whites like the white Race and are proud of it as well?), I like my race but I don’t detest the other races.
Actually I am the one who really like diversity.

Diversity is beautiful, I love all the races, they are all special in their own ways, each have their qualities and defaults, diversity protects us, diversity is adaptation, like diversity in the flora and fauna is positive too,
it is why I understand that mixing the races is a bad idea, not only they
fight because they are different, but it is a bit strange that you all are praising diversity in our cities and the mixing up, but isn’t mixing us up destroying diversity? Diversity is taught that it is so sacred, that it must be protected at all times from anyone who doesn’t proclaim its sacredness. If diversity is so wonderful, why are so many “anti-racist” ideologues in such a hurry to eliminate diversity through racial assimilation? So sad…

We need those differences, they are adaptations. At the same time, as
Hispanics love their race or Chinese theirs, I, Whites, have the right to love their race!

But strangely I am racist to care and you are not?

        ———————–

I do agree with SpikeyGrrl that all this can bring familial frictions. I lost my best friend because or me becoming a race racialist. For the moment I prefer to exchange ideas anonymously or playing the naive questioner with friends and family. That works too and it take us less time lol

      • Anna Tree

I would like to ask the Moderator why my post was removed again. I didn’t break any rules I know of. I am baffled.
I am lucky I copy/pasted it because I worked a couple of hours on it gathering information for Commentator83.

      • anony

Ask them both how they explain sub-Saharan Africa’s lack of technological advancement past the stone age. And don’t let them blame it on “colonialism”. That occurred only in the last 3-4 hundred years. I am talking about the last 20,000 years.

    • ViktorNN

If there’s a computer or tablet handy, just go to wikipedia and look up “national IQ.” You’ll see a handy list of national IQ average for most countries in the world. As one would predict, black African countries have the lowest IQs. If they dispute the results, challenge them to disprove them. That should shut your relatives up.

      • commentator83

Something tells me they’d just invent some excuse why it’s wrong and they’re right. Just to follow up, I did email my cousin (wrote about 4,500 words!) and he only provided a brief reply, he didn’t mention the study he got shown at university, this was years ago, so something tells me he can’t recall the authors or the date and we’ll never know. I included in my email to him the 30 years of research into race and IQ pdf by Rushton and Jensen.

    • IstvanIN

This Christmas I had a “race realist” conversation at dinner. Almost everyone who agreed with me one by one left the table. The relative who I was disagreeing with eventually left the table as well. To say the least I didn’t get a good night from him or his family. My daughter and son-in-law thought it was a hoot that the usually quiet and polite me got so vocal.

      • commentator83

Good one, I didn’t get a goodbye from my cousin’s partner, yet I still smiled and waved as they left. Having restraint means you at least keep the moral high ground and don’t show indignation (which is tough sometimes!). Makes it much easier for the ‘neutrals’ to side with you as well. I am the only person in my family who’s a race realist, or right wing even. One of my friends on facebook is sympathetic, but that’s it, and my mother always listens to what I have to say politely even though she doesn’t really agree (even if she has seen the IQ studies still doesn’t think government policy should take race into account). The funny thing with my cousin also, is that he used to say racist jokes about aborigines and doesn’t like rap music (yet was never an outright immigration restrictionist and still basically a lefty), all his friends and gfs are white, now since he’s met this woman he’s a social justice warrior! It’s amazing how SJWs are always the snobs too, who makes fun of the stereotype of the white working class men who say ‘they took our jerrrbs’, you know, from Southpark. Normally people begin their life lefties but then turn to the right (such as myself), with him its more the opposite.

Social belonging is such a powerful thing to people, if you’re surrounded with hipsters you’d have to choose them or your convictions, so having few friends can be a blessing. Well, bless the internet, the AmRen for being able to share these experiences! Shame about Anna Tree’s post disappearing though. While writing this I listened to Johnny Cash’s ‘The One on the Right is on the Left’, and about to share it to fb with a big wink 😉

Actually, I hope the blacks keep protesting this and make Antonio Martin their next martyr. Trayvon Martin failed them. Michael Brown failed them. Now let Antonio Martin fail them. The more blatantly guilty the deceased black is and the more justified the policeman is, the more this will expose blacks and their white liberal enablers as the crazies they are. It is frustrating to watch, but it is ultimately to our advantage.

    • Guest

Trying it again. It is displaying, but will it remain?

  • Pro-Apartheid

    Merry Christmas?

According to liberal secularists it is “Happy Xmas”. I have heard in some parts of Europe it is politically incorrect to say “Christ”.

    • GM (Australia)

But the last laugh should be on them because “X” is the Greek letter Xi (pronounced Ki) which was the initial letter in the work “Christos”
But as for PC, yes we must go on fighting it at all levels before it destroys our society.

    • Alexandra1973

Some would take exception because “Christmas” derives from “Christ” + “Mass,” mass being the DEATH of Christ, according to Catholics. (Merry death of Christ? Waitaminnit….)

I choose to simply remember the birth of Christ. No one knows the exact day. I simply try to focus on it more during the latter part of the year.

I also don’t take issue with “Happy Holidays” because Hanukkah often falls in December, and I have nothing against Jews.

      • Pro-Apartheid

I’m refering especially to those European countries with large numbers of Muslims who might be offended by the term “Christmas”. This is a problem for those countries since the 25 of December is a public holiday, yet they have a secular society so strictly speaking you shouldn’t be having a religious public holiday in a true secular society. Therefore they rename Christmas to Xmas, with X being a variable that can be replaced with whatever you want.

      • HE2

Alex, no, false. You apparently did not study Latin, early or late.
Suggest you research the etymological derivation of “mass” at a website other than “Last Trumpet Ministries.”
The Latin root of mass means roughly to “send out.”

      • Guest

        Merriam Webster’s Dictionary says:
        Origin of MASS
Middle English, from Old English mæsse, modification of Vulgar Latin *messa, literally, dismissal at the end of a religious service, from Late Latin missa, from Latin, feminine of missus, past participle of mittere to send
First Known Use: before 12th century

        • HE2

          Thanks, Guest.
Nothing to do with death. According to my Collegiate Latin text, it may also be extrapolated from dismissal to “to send out.”
One can only hope the O/P will eventually come to understand the scholarly Latin etymology as opposed to the misinformation propagated by the Last Trumpet Ministry website’s author.

This, from Last Trumpet Ministries:” The word “Christmas” is a combination of the words “Christ” and “Mass. The word “Mass” means death and was coined originally by the Roman Catholic Church, and belongs exclusively to the church of Rome. The ritual of the Mass involves the death of Christ, and the distribution of the “Host”, a word taken from the Latin word “hostiall” meaning victim!”
In short, Christmas is strictly a Roman Catholic word.”

Guest, I am not Catholic, but for the sake of our site’s integrity, I refute misinformation intended to denigrate another spiritual path, Islam excepted.

  • kikz2

Merry Christmas, and Happy Solstice 😀

  • Daniel McGrath

    Down with the Greeks eh?

  • Daniel McGrath

I disagree. The role of Feminism is critically important. Zionism (and I mean that in the narrowest sense) also played a role. WW1 began when the Japanese and Russians went for to toe to grapple for suppremacy in Korea. The Japs launched an attack on Russian outposts a few months before the completion of the Trans Siberian railway. The result of the war was a dramatic shift in the balance of strategic naval power in the Black Sea, Baltic and Pacific. The Bruised Russians then decided to invest in a massive improvemt of the rail heads in the Pale. The Japs were funded by Jacob Schiff and given support by the Royal Navy. The valiant Japanese burst the bubble of white suppremacy by sinking the Imperial Russian fleet. The malarkey of Financiers and the Royal Navy screwed up the Imperial peace.

  • Daniel McGrath

You should look at Nial Ferguson’s War of the World. He provided a solid theory that it was set in motion by Yellow Men defeating White Russians in China and Korea. He stops there but…

Essentially, the financial elite (banksters) and the premier strategic weapon (Royal Navy) used Japan as a proxy to destroy Imperial Russia After the Russians were caned in Port Arthur the countdown to the implosion of Russia began.

  • Daniel McGrath

Why are you indicting every notable western ideal?

    • GM (Australia)

Daniel; The whole subject of WW1 is well outside a simple comment re Christmas on this website.

The causes can be traced back as far as the collapse of the Hapsburg empire and the aftermath of this war still reverberates to this very day, especially in the Middle East and possibly even in the former Soviet Union. The side issues such as Asian rivalries, Islamic nationalism and Russia’s place in the World Order also exist to this very day, likewise the fear of a very powerful re-united Germany.

      Notable Western Ideals, lets have a look at a couple;

Capture of Jerusalem, yes, it happened with very little bloodshed. (Napoleon had also attempted this)

Capture of Constantinople, A shame it did not happen.

“Defeat of the Hun”. War propaganda and false nationalism at it’s bloodthirsty worst.
The Machine Gun. The Americans invented it, the Germans thought it was a great idea (with deadly results in trench warfare) while the British Generals rejected this invention, again with deadly results to British troops.

Both sides made remarkable advances in weapons, aviation and other war technologies during the 4 years of war.

And your comment re feminism. In a way this was boosted by the war effort, women had paid jobs working in the munitions factories, it gave them a taste for financial independence. This was also at the same times as the suffragette movements.

      • Flaxen-headed Strumpet

Which also sowed the seeds of the sexual revolution. Imagine being a single handsome and virile draft exempt male engineer working in a factory producing military goods with a mostly female labor force whose hubbies and boyfriends were off at war. You’d be getting more illicit sex opportunities than you could handle. Ditto for 16 and 17 y/o boys. Remember the movie Summer of ’42?

  • David Ashton

The “Winterval of Lights” is upon us again in “England” but I notice a certain resistance to the “political correction” in strong re-affirmation of monocultural icons (Trees in the public space, Carol-singing, traditional Dinner & Midnight Mass).

    • Alexandra1973

As a born-again Christian I have an issue with Mass. The bread and wine are *symbolic.* They don’t actually become the body and blood of Christ.

      • David Ashton

The term “Midnight Mass” is used loosely, if perhaps improperly, in England for the midnight eucharist or even services held by different denominations, not just the RC event. I am not a Christian believer myself, but see the phenomenon as a cultural protest against compulsory multiculturalism and leftist secularization. The problem with the symbolic interpretation of bread and wine is that “eating flesh” was considered in the Jewish milieu as an act of violence, but I leave Catholics and Protestants to debate the theology, or even the weekday of the Last Supper, in other threads than this one. As for Islam, the Muslims in their own way defend the Virginity of Mary against Jewish slanders.

      • HE2

        Alexandra, research transubstantiation.

People forget that Yeshua was a faithful Jewish practitioner celebrating a Passover Seder with the Apostles the evening before his trial.
Christians adopted the practice with a few changes.

          • HE2

No, Istvan, it is neither necessary nor appropriate to refer to Holy Communion as cannibalism.
As I mentioned above, it helps to investigate transubstantiation versus
            consubstantiation.

I was just joking, but I apologize.

          • IstvanIN

Oh, sorry. With so many attacks on Christian traditions these days I get a little aggravated,

          • newscomments70

I don’t blame you, I feel the same. It is my goal to attend Catholic mass this year. The local parish isn’t bad. Catholics aren’t too bad, but we are known to drink on occasion!

      • IstvanIN

Live and let I say. As long as I don’t harm you and you don’t harm me we are each allowed our own Christian beliefs and rituals, or, for atheists, none at all.

      • Technically that’s not what the Catholic Church teaches but as a not very good Roman Catholic I don’t see that it makes that much difference. As long as one follows the teachings of Christianity I think the “hour is too late” for us to be disagreeing over smaller theological points.

It may be moot anyway as the descendants of Saint Antonio Martin develop their own religion: whether a variant of Christianity, or not.

  • Junis

You’re Jewish? You probably don’t want to remind your right-wing white friends that the Jews have been kicked out of 100 European states. Non-Jewish westerners owe us Muslims for destroying Muslim countries because they love you Jews so much.

  • Sick of it

A united Europe (i.e. the EU) was also a part of the plan. Funny how European nations have no say in their own affairs today, isn’t it?

  • Unperson

Another atheist here, seconding what previous poster said. I too respect Christmas, and also the fact that Western Civ would have been very different (probably worse) without Christianity. When I hear fellow atheists badmouth Christians, I prick their conscience by asking them if they criticize Muslims as well — considering muzzie criticism actually entails some risk, whereas slagging Christians does not. (If you’re going to be an atheist, you need to be an equal-opportunity atheist; otherwise you’re a hypocrite and a coward.)
And despite the fact that I’ve never been able to bring myself to believe, I still recognize that there is indeed a War on Christmas. In fact, it’s just a symptom of the War on Christianity. Which is, in turn, just a symptom of the War on the West. A war we are currently losing. So we whites — the faithful and the faithless alike — are all in this leaky boat together; and we need to act like it.
Merry Christmas and best wishes for 2015 to AR staff, and everybody who reads this site (trolls and $PLC snoops excepted).

  • HE2

Am atheist also, but not fundamentalist about it.
I honor all faiths, the death cult intent on destroying Western Culture, Islam excepted.
I, too, resent the current antipathy for our long held Christmas tradition.

This is a recent phenomenon, as I said.
        Very frustrating.

  • This Christmas was a really good one, even for an agnostic. We beat last Monday’s snowstorm on the drive north, which was quite good, as I have to ride in the trunk of the Model-A when the three of us hit the highway, as the Pinzgauer still doesn’t run, and the “good” Saturn is firing on only three cylinders, so that’s not trustworthy enough for highway travel. I take very nice naps in there; I regard that as putting the trip on fast-forward. We enjoyed the snow in Boulder; Sayaka and I did some cross-country skiing and then all four of us went show-shoeing.

This time of year generally brings out the best in (decent) people, and it is always a real delight. We bought a blueberry pie and a cherry pie as well, off Kroger’s day-old clearance rack, and a short gal with a pair of grandkids had me fish two more out of the stack on the top shelf of the rack. We ate a lot of the fish I had caught and smoked, which my mother used in salads, when we weren’t eating it on toasted French bread with Brie. I shoveled mom’s driveway and that of her neighbor, along with the sidewalks as far as the mailbox. I rewired a fluorescent light fixture in mom’s garage, as the original ballast had gone bad, and installed some replacement door hardware I had made here using a template I cut out of cardboard when we were visiting a month ago.

I meant to visit my old high school German teacher at the nearby old folks’ home, but didn’t have the time. It was a great time, but I wish I’d thought to visit a very sweet old gal.
