More than 100 Immigrants Found at Suspected Stash House in Texas

Suzanne Presto and Dana Ford, CNN, March 19, 2014

Police in Houston rescued more than 100 immigrants Wednesday from a suspected stash house where they were being held against their will.

A total of 94 men and 15 women, including children, were discovered inside the one-story, roughly 1,500 square-foot home, according to police spokesman John Cannon.

A pregnant woman was taken to a hospital for medical attention, but most of the others appeared healthy.

Five people were arrested.

Charges against them are pending, according to Immigration and Customs Enforcement spokesman Greg Palmore, who said that 95 men and 15 women were rescued.

The immigrants–from Honduras, Guatemala, El Salvador and Mexico–are in ICE custody, Palmore said. They range in age from 5 to 47.

The spokesman declined to say how or why authorities then zeroed in on a house in south Harris County, Texas. But police set up surveillance there, and when a vehicle left the residence, a patrol car pulled it over on a traffic stop.

Officers found weapons inside the car, as well as papers indicating criminal activity, Cannon said. Two suspects were detained.

Police then entered the home.

One room, where the suspect or suspects are believed to have stayed, had a mattress, fridge and weapons, Cannon said.

“The rest of the house was cordoned off, and it’s where the individuals held against their will were staying–in squalid conditions. There was one bathroom. It was filthy,” the spokesman added. “The windows were boarded with plywood, and the doors were dead bolted. You can only enter from outside.”

Most of those rescued said they had been at the house for two to four days, but one woman said she had been there 15 days.

A hundred out of the millions that are here. Way to go law enforcement!

Unfortunately, I think ICE is disposed to let the poor things go on their own recognizance, to be sure to come back for their hearing. Ugh.

  • What’s the problem? It’s just an expression of Mexican family values. You get 10 or 15 families in one house, it’s “togetherness,” that down here in Texas where I’m at is considered normal. The “pack em and stack em” Mexican lifestyle is just another reason to run them out of the country ASAP. BTW, the landlord of the property was undoubtedly Mexican. That’s how some of them get rich, renting a house to multiple families.

    • Pro_Whitey

Good point. Many focus on cheap labor as a motivation for illegal immigration, but I think the high rent lobby is just as culpable.

      • Einsatzgrenadier

There really is no such thing as “cheap” labor. “Cheap” labor is the most expensive kind of labor there is.

        • Pro_Whitey

You are correct, sir. “Cheap” only to those who directly profit from it, expensive for the rest of us as we bear the externality costs.

How did he afford the water bill? It’s around $40 a month per person in Cleveland.

      • Bribery? The meter workers around here are all Mexicans. Was there even water in the house? The billing is by gallons, not per person, in Texas.

        • Tarczan

Same here, but it works out to about $150-$160 a month for a family of four, including the sewer. Big increases coming in years ahead, with all the darkies already in arrears, it will be a mess. Suburbs will pay.

        • evilsandmich

Maybe that’s why Cleveland doesn’t use meter readers any more, though I believe that it’s pretty low-tech to rig the meter.

It was probably being rented college style, by the person.

They’re in ICE custody now, but not for much longer. And not because they’ll be sent back to their home countries.

  • borogirl54

What this is extortion of some of the illegal’s families to pay more money to get their relatives released. There are others who are there because they still owe money to the traffickers for bringing them across the border.

I know I find it hard to believe that they couldn’t have busted out of that shack if they wanted to; just another day in the neighborhood to the inhabitants.

The important question is, are they registered to vote a hundred times each.

  • So CAL Snowman

They don’t even bother making ICE raids in So Cal anymore. I’m sure if they tried the mexicans would march in the streets and Governor Moonbeam would intervene.

I’m sure if they tried the mexicans would march in the streets and Governor Moonbeam would intervene join.

I remember seeing Julia Brownley (D – Westlake) marching in the streets with the illegal aliens, wearing a nice red shirt. I think Lois Capps (D – Santa Barbara) has also marched in the streets with the illegals. It just sickens me to my core to watch our “politicians” sell us out like this.

one toilet, no hot hot water and human waste everywhere…500 chickens in the yard

They’re just recreating what they left back home, what’s the problem?

They’ll be asked coached about brutality from American police, registered on the spot as Democrats, signed up for Obamacare and welfare, given EBT and green cards and released onto the streets.

    Houston is a sanctuary city.

Multculturalists are both insane and delusional. Judging from their rhetoric, you would think that importing more Central American invaders would make every white American a millionaire. In reality, more mestizos just means the country will end up looking like Guatemala. However, these multicultural psychos are fine with that because all cultures are “equal”, diversity is wonderful and everyone has a right to go wherever they want.

      • Dr. Möbias

Oh, I disagree. I think multiculturalists are not insane or delusional. They know exactly what they are doing to bring about the end of the white race and flooding white homelands with third world browns and blacks is part of their carefully laid plan.

Might get free bus tickets to Chicago to boot.
We don’t have enough here yet.
And Elias Munoz, the father of Chicago Alderman Ricardo Munoz, has been struggling to turn a profit with his illegal immigrant fake ID business.

      • Bon, From the Land of Babble

Why should we Californians get all the TB, brain worm, chagas disease, bed bugs, leprosy and other third world diseases the Mexicans and Central Americans gift us with?

Time to share the joys of illegal immigration with the rest of the U.S.

Last year my lease was one page. ….. Sign here.
My new lease is at least 10 pages long with a six page long bed bug addendum.
Oh, and I made $0.21 interest on my security deposit last year.
Cost the management company more for the stamp, paper, envelope, and employee time to notify me of my right to deduct $0.21 from my rent payment.
