Top Republicans to Call for Legal Status for Some Immigrants

Jonathan Weisman and Ashley Parke, New York Times, January 28, 2014

The House Republican leadership’s broad framework for overhauling the nation’s immigration laws will call this week for a path to legal status—but not citizenship—for many of the 11 million adult immigrants who are in the country illegally, according to aides who have seen the party’s statement of principles. For immigrants brought to the United States illegally as young children, the Republicans would offer a path to citizenship.

But even before the document is unveiled later, some of the party’s leading strategists and conservative voices are urging that the immigration push be abandoned, or delayed until next year, to avoid an internal party rupture before the midterm elections.

“It’s one of the few things that could actually disrupt what looks like a strong Republican year,” said William Kristol, editor of the conservative magazine The Weekly Standard, calling an immigration push “a recipe for disaster.”

The statement of principles criticizes the American higher education system for educating some of the world’s best and brightest students only to lose them to their home countries because they cannot obtain green cards; insists that Republicans demand that current immigration laws be enforced before illegal immigrants are granted legal status; and mentions that some kind of triggers must be included in an immigration overhaul to ensure that borders are secured first, said Republican officials who have seen the principles.

With concern already brewing among conservatives who call any form of legal status “amnesty,” the document has the feel more of an attempt to test the waters than a blueprint for action. House Republican leaders will circulate it at a three-day retreat for their members that begins Wednesday on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. Several pro-immigration organizations that have been briefed on the guidelines say they are not intended to serve as a conservative starting point for future negotiations, but as a gauge of how far to the left House Republicans are willing to move.

Republican Party leaders, backed strongly by business groups, have said an overhaul is critical if they are to repair their political position with Latino and other immigrant voters.

Barry Jackson, Mr. Boehner’s former chief of staff, is consulting for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, which supports an overhaul that expands high-technology visas and guest worker programs.

And you guys are wondering why I criticize the GOP so much. You’re fighting a two front battle. Right now, you need to get all of your enemies on one side of the equation. It’s like algebra, that math subject that “some people” have trouble passing.
You can’t fight the Democratic Party when you have liberals like McCain infested in the GOP like an unpopped zit.
You can’t boot out the illegal aliens while you have the politicians in BOTH parties allowing them to keep coming in.

  • Alexandra1973

Kick ’em all out, problem solved.

    • D.B. Cooper

You are, I hope, referring to the GOP instead of the illegal aliens? One is the CAUSE, the other is the EFFECT.

      • Alexandra1973

I was referring to illegals, but we can ship the GOP along with them.

      • Fathercoughlin

BOTH need to be kicked out

“Republican Party leaders, backed strongly by business groups, have said an overhaul is critical if they are to repair their political position with Latino and other immigrant voters.”
He moron Repugnants, if you don’t GIVE them citizenship…
    1. They will never vote Demonrat and…
    2. You’ll never have to kiss their brown butts for their votes (which you’ll not get anyway).

    • D.B. Cooper

      3. Most of the white conservative voters are still stupid enough to reelect them.

      • LACounty

Most. But that number is changing. 8 million registered White voters didn’t vote in 2012.

  • NoMosqueHere

    2 possible solutions:

    (1) massive white demonstrations in DC protesting anti white immigration laws — this won’t happen since almost all whites are lazy and apathetic; or

    (2) widespread white boycotts of the republican party — this one has a chance of success since it involves actually doing NOTHING.

    • Whitetrashgang

No one on this board should ever vote republican ever. Third party all the way its our only chance whatever the odds are.

      • D.B. Cooper

Dude, I beat you to that years ago. The GOP has to crash and burn. It might mean a lot of young whites will be the victims of racism, but I don’t feel sorry for them. Over half of the whites under 25 are liberal democrats anyway.

Like I explained to you before, the government controlled by Democrats could set Whites back to where they could never recover. Like real open boarders and more extreme Affirmative Action laws, the sky is the limit.
Third parties have been around for decades, they don’t get any where. You tell me what legal thing a Third party could do to get some where that hasn’t already been tried. No one will be able to come up with anything.

There are so many people who post at this web site who are apparently incapable of absorbing the FACT that the Republican Party, with all it’s faults, blocked Amnesty from becoming the law. They also apparently are having trouble distinguishing between the Republican “Leadership” with the rest of the party.

          • Whitetrashgang

No Ross Perot was leading the race till he dropped out, he got scared which you cant do.

          • M&S

A problem unresolved is like a bad foot fungus: It keeps coming back.
Throwing back amnesty without plugging the hole in the side of the SS America just lets illegals keep coming in. So does refusing to end the 1 million LEGAL immigrant problem.
Republicans can point to anti-amnesty even if they lose and say: “See, we tried.”
WE should point to the lack of ending the problem of lost national sovereignty /even if they win/ and say: “SEE, nothing’s changed!”
Until and unless we accept the Darwinian fact that selection has occurred, not all of us are coming along for the next step in evolution and STOP TRYING TO LEVER UP THE WORLD with it’s non-white evolutionary trajectories, we will be right back here just as soon as enough aging whites die off and not enough are left to man a non-existent wall.
Remember that ass who cheered the death of the white people when Amnesty was thrown back during the Bush era?
Well, disgusting as he was, he spoke the truth: the Liberals need only wait, while we lie in our somnolent torpor, occasionally kicking us with more legalization nonsense as they continually ask: “Are you dead yet?” and when enough of our elderly are gone who remember what a great nation this used to be, one eye will not open on the corpse of White America and they will get what they want anyway.
But the opposite is not true.
You pump some serious vigour into the patient (massive import tariffs for lost industry and serious white-advantaged tax deductions for things like large families in a middle income range above the Mexican mean plus loss of welfare, food stamps and HUD benefits for any not already on the system, and suddenly whites have a reason to start contributing to their nation’s future again.
While Mexicans who have nothing to gain from Democratic loyalty will slink away.
Single Victory Syndrome is the biggest cause of the Republican loss of position in government. They have no mission statement to return this land to it’s rightful, founding, population. And they expect credit for defeating things that are so obviously evil that there should be no question about which way to vote from -either- side of the aisle.
Every nation (Latin: ‘Nascere’, to be born) has it’s homeland where it’s genes are safe and it’s future assured. Whites need to wake up to the racist realization that loving your own more than any other is not evil.
As that is the basis for creating the them-or-us condition of excluding other populations from our own society.

      • A third party vote is of little significance if that party adopts rhetoric and policies that are only an attempt to garner votes for nothing other than to be the guy who was not a Republican or Democrat. If a third party vote is a protest vote, then it has to have, at the very least, a symbolic message of race attached to it, and not just an abstract message that might be construed as something of a racial nature under the right light. Maybe if you squint your eyes, tilt your head to the side, and jump up and down for a few minutes, that third party might look like something remotely racialist. Fair-weather racialists have been playing this game for decades now, with nothing to show for it. Implicit racialism is a dead end.

        • Whitetrashgang

Well I view it as Hitler in 1930 or before,we have to stick our neck out. Now would be a good time to start.

        • NeanderthalDNA

A message that could benefit us is that of merit. I can see how it could be packaged to appear a-racial. The result would automatically improve our situation if successful.

What ever happened to that Republican Noise Machine that seemed so invincible a little over a decade ago?

    • kenfrombayside

I ain’t lazy. Short of guerrilla warfare, I fight back. Keep the pressure on your reps in congress. Giving 11 – 30 million (nobody knows for sure) criminal lawbreakers legalization pure insanity. Plus, they could sponsor their relatives; that would bring the total up to about 50 million aliens in our midst. Of course, these new citizens will vote for the vile democrats and their socialist giveaways. Most of them will be unskilled, uneducated, low IQ etc. Stop this outrageous bill now. Don’t sit on the sidelines. You are not wasting your time. The American people don’t want this bill. You have to do all you can do to stem the third world assault:
      – Contact your 2 US Senators and rep in congress.
      – after biz hours, leave a message on your DC rep’s voicemail. All US Senators have multiple offices so it would be a good idea to hit all of the. Remember, be civil and don’t threaten
      – go to NUMBERSUSA then go to the take action button. You will be able to send faxes to your 2 US Senators and congressional for free. (I also gave a $50 donation).
      – use Business Reply envelopes to state your opposition to America’s insane immigration policies and the proposed amnesty. Don’t give the parties any money.
      – join an immigration group like FAIR. Strength thru numbers!
      – go to the RNC & DNC sites to email them.
      – Use the media: call a talk radio program; write a letter to your local paper. If the media outlet is liberal, then talk about economic impact of massive third world immigration.
      – text everybody in your cell phone queue now.

      • Einsatzgrenadier

Sending letters to your congressman is a waste of time. I’ve done this many times and it never accomplished anything. Some people end up getting charged with hate crimes and thrown in jail for contacting their elected representatives over issues like continuous, massive third world immigration and multiculturalism.

Our government officials are all “soft” totalitarians who will not stop flooding our countries with third world colonizers until our countries are completely destroyed. The only way to stop the destruction of western civilization is by organizing a white national resistance against the federal governments of all western “democracies”. There can be no meaningful reforms until these multiparty dictatorships are swept from power.

When will white people fight back? Unfortunately, I suspect that they will only resist when they become minorities in their own countries and their racial interests are suddenly threatened by other ethnic groups. These groups will try to disenfranchise whites through a protracted armed struggle for cultural and ethnic dominance over western social and political institutions.

  • Racist yet?

How’s that “conservative” working out for ya? When the dust finally settles and you realize that real men had to do the job you were too incompetent or scared to do, it’s not just going to be the Liberals or Leftists getting an up close view of the gallows. Republicans/Conservatives, you gonna have some ‘splainin’ to do!

  • LACounty

    Top Rinos………

    • Long Live Dixie

I have never understood RINO. It suggests that liberal Republicans aren’t true Republicans. The opposite is true. Republicans have always been a liberal party.

  • Rhialto

Notice how the Repubs are concerned only with the next election cycles, congressional in 2014 and presidential in 2016, There is no Repub concern for the longer term interests of their party or the country.

Also note the Repub deep concern for those brilliant immigrants who must return to their native countries, instead of remaining in the US to make America’s rich even richer, and make young White males even poorer.

  • The statement of principles criticizes the American higher education
system for educating some of the world’s best and brightest students
only to lose them to their home countries because they cannot obtain
green cards; insists that Republicans demand that current immigration
laws be enforced before illegal immigrants are granted legal status; and
mentions that some kind of triggers must be included in an immigration
overhaul to ensure that borders are secured first, said Republican
officials who have seen the principles.

    1. The first sentence is code for stapling a green card to a diploma earned by someone here on a student visa. Meaning even more native born white Americans are out of the labor market.

    2. Immigration laws can be enforced at any time — There are already enough on the books. (I do think that legislation implementing a proper construction of the 14th Amendment’s birthright citizenship clause needs to be enacted.) It’s just that it’s been a very long time since we’ve had a President that took immigration law enforcement seriously. And if there aren’t major changes in the system, don’t look for one any time soon, because the EL CHEAPO labor lobby will buy both the Democrat and Republican nominees, (in case the latter is not Jeff Sessions).

    3. Triggers don’t impress me, because Presidents and cabinet secretaries can and do lie. Besides, these triggers are supposed to be met before any path to citizenship to happen, but we’re not supposed to notice that the illegals will get permanent forbearance from “deportation” and green cards immediately, which is the crux of the matter and all that matters.

  • DudeWheresMyCountry?

Repair their position with Latino and other immigrant voters? They have no position. And immigrants don’t vote, citizens vote. So the prevailing Republican position is to destroy their base to pursue votes from people who can’t and/or won’t ever support them. No longer can even our enemies objectively deny our desire for a party that represents our interests.

  • Allan477

In principle, I like the idea legalizing the illegals. The trouble with this idea is, however, once we legalize the illegals the demands for citizenship is not going to be far behind.

      • Marc Zuckurburg

You know, if I play this right, I won’t have to pay anyone anything. They’ll all work for me for free.

Yeah, I worried at first about that whole 13th amendment thing. But thankfully I have a way out and an ace to bring out from under the table: The NAACP.

They own slavery. It’s sort of their Shoah business. Anyone who even utters “slavery” irreverently and tries to compare their condition or some other condition to black slavery, the NAACP roundly condemns.

So if me and my cohorts can keep the NAACP alive, this means that when my workers eventually become my slaves, they’ll be too scared to think of their working conditions as slavery, or openly call it as such. Because once they do, boom, the NAACP I help fund will be right there to knock it down.

And if that doesn’t work, I have yet another ace in the hole. All I have to do is fund certain schools, professors, think tanks and studies institutes, and I’ll have all the politicians thinking and spouting that all the evil I do is good, and that the good people trying to oppose me are evil. That all my greed and rapaciousness isn’t really bad, it’s merely the features of a good healthy free market.

Face it, the world is my oyster.

In Ann Coulter’s latest column she reveals details about an upcoming immigration report by Phyllis Schlafly. It claims that Republicans are predicted to become a fringe party in about a decade with current levels of LEGAL immigration. In my book Boehner et al are guilty of high treason for their despicable actions.
Of course I don’t give a damn about the effects on a party which has ignored the best interests of white Americans time and time again and has been acquiescent in their displacement and marginalization. Watching the demise of such a feckless and pathetic party would be quite amusing if it were for other reasons.

        • David Ashton

And good old Phyllis Schlafly – she must be 90 years old and still banging away. She autographed one of her books for me in the 1960s!!

      • And don’t forget Schlafly. She has got powerfully strong in her verbal response when the issue has come up on her radio show, even when she has to powerfully contradict the guest she is interviewing. Disclosure: most Christians would consider me barely Christian if that. But I point out that Schlafly is becoming a powerful voice.

        • Phyllis Schlafly, native St. Louisan, is pushing 90 years young, and her brain is still going strong.

While her show is mostly on Christian radio stations, and a lot of the issues she deals with has a strong crossover with Christian conservatives, she’s not “Christian conservative” (“religious right” or “evangelical right”) as such. In fact, she’s Irish Catholic in heritage.

And don’t think that there’s some sort of contradiction between “religious right” and immigration patriotism. Just because some stooge sock puppet “pastors” and “leaders” are run up the flagpole by the Chamber Pot of Commerce’s daddy warbucks war chest, doesn’t mean the flocks are following along. Polling shows that white conservative Christians are the religious group most agreeable to us from our vantage point on immigration.

One more thing: Schlafly paid her way through law school by testing firearms and ammunition for the military as a civilian employee.

          • Wow, thanks for the info on Schlafly. As long as you’re giving all this info on her, I will add another point, Most of her radio shows you can listen to even if you were an atheist (conservative atheist), and you could still follow the whole show with great interest.

          • Pelagian

You got a couple things wrong there QD.
Her maiden name was Stewart, and she’s Scottish. I assume shes either a convert or was Catholic on her mother’s side. She doesnt impress me as the Irish Catholic personality type at all. Too unsentimental, for starters.
She didn’t go to law school until she was in her 5Os. Her husband paid for it.

          • It was undergrad. My mistake.

I do know that she was relatively working-middle class growing up on the South Side, and married into the Schlafly barge fortune. The other famous Schlaflys in town, Dan Schlafly, the former uber-leftist SLPS Board member for whom the SLPS HQ are named, and the Schlaflys that do the microbrewery, are her husband’s relatives.

That said, knowing her like I do, and I loosely do, and knowing what she’ll probably write in the report that Coulter mentions, I think the main but slight error is that she’ll assume that the white vote for Republicans can’t be much higher than it is. Which will contribute to her conclusion that even current levels of legal immigration will kill the Republican Party in ten years. The state of Mississippi proves otherwise, that white people, especially the right kind of white people, will vote for an imperfect party that doesn’t quite suit their interests ideally in fear of minority rule.

Republican Party leaders, backed strongly by business groups, have said
an overhaul is critical if they are to repair their political position
with Latino and other immigrant voters.

    Confused doggy here.

Are Latinos and other immigrant groups the only people that get to vote?

Have Republicans never won elections in the past without winning the Latino and other immigrant group vote in the past?

    • Are Latinos and other immigrant groups the only people that get to vote?

I think you have the main point. Some segment of the Republicans has to break away and have a policy which is much more pro-white, and at the same time is aware of other constituencies – eg they have to show some awareness of business interests but the break away group still needs to find anti anti-white policies while being aware of business interests. And any Democrats who want to join, great. I.e., have an overall positive pro-white position.

      • Long Live Dixie

I would not trust anything that came away from the Republicans unless it was an awakened group that rejected the Republicans root and branch.

    • Long Live Dixie

Are Latinos and other immigrant groups the only people that get to vote?

Apparently so. It’s funny watching the Republicans pander to the Mexicans considering that they almost always lose in the stretch of mostly white states from Maine in the east to Minnesota in the west.

  • So CAL Snowman

You mean men in high positions of power, even in the GOP, should be trusted? They are not capable of criminal activity and telling LIES to the general public?

    Is anyone here THAT naive?

In the famous words of Goldfinger.

“Mr Bond, they have a saying in Chicago: ‘Once is happenstance. Twice is coincidence. The third time it’s enemy action’.”

Or let Arthur Kemp tell it like it is:

Current demographic trends have already turned Europeans into minorities in all major cities of the US, and increasing numbers of major cities in western Europe. This trend is speeding up exponentially. Simply put, the European people are being racially displaced from their traditional heartlands through mass Third World immigration. It is ONLY happening in the First World.

This is Bon and I approve of this message.

I don’t know what to say anymore about it. The amount of whites in my age group (im 29) who buy into the liberal propaganda is staggering. The amount of white women who actually believed a ‘War on Women’ was real is unbelievable. They are hostile towards anything remotely pro-white in order to impress “minorities”. This country is done, man. We can’t even escape to Europe anymore because they do the same there. Something radical is our only hope.

“Something radical is our only hope.” That’s plenty. Keep educating people as to what is happening. Even those that you think might despise what you say. It will plant a seed. I’ve seen many examples of those that have switched sides over the years. 29 yr olds eventually turn into 39 yr olds. Experience is the best teacher. Spreading the word for me relieves stress. Very rewarding when someone comes back a while after you’ve spoken with them and confirms your words. All White race-realists need to pull their weight and talk to Whites around them. At least your immediate and extended family and friends. Most young folks want to help everyone, all races, until they have a family, mortgage, bills, etc. KEEP SPREADING THE WORD! It’ll take some of the load off your shoulders.

I understand what you’re saying but I’m not waiting for anything. As far as I’m concerned if you’re talking about it, you’re a soldier. Keep educating people. Keep up the fight. We’re gaining additional soldiers daily. I’ve never seen so many Whites talking about this on many forums. It’s discouraging at times but I’ll be damned if I get anywhere near conceding. We’ll have to make our own borders. I’m not relocating for nothing.

      • David Ashton

The young people you rightly criticise are like victims of a programmed cult, not only through “education” but also through “entertainment”. In some ways the latter is more dangerous. However, intelligent youth like to rebel, and this is a tendency we should exploit.

    • MBlanc46

It’s hard to make a cogent case against that view. The only thing that gives me any hope is the growing anti-immigration sentiment in Britain and France. Maybe it will strike a spark among ordinary Americans. Otherwise, say “Goodnight”, Gracie.

Republicans are not trying to get re-elected, they are trying to elect a new people. Once this new people gets elected as the new citizen class then these traitor politicians will probably either become democrats or get a job from one of their campaign contributors.

    • Beetlejuice

Most of them are already set for life and don’t have to worry about getting a job from anyone. They “earned” their wealth by doing what their generous donors asked them to do, enough to allow them to live apart from the third world flood the rest of us have to put up with.. The traitors don’t care that they’ve ruined their own country.

“Republican Party leaders, backed strongly by business groups, have said
an overhaul is critical if they are to repair their political position
with Latino and other immigrant voters.”

And to provide more cheap labor for the business groups.

FLINT, MI — The attorney for a teen arrested in connection with the assault of a Mass
Transportation Authority bus driver said he doesn’t believe his client was involved in a so-called “knock-out” game.

Attorney Nicholas R. Robinson also said in an email that his client
doesn’t know the other teens who may have been involved in the attack.

Robinson said that his investigation has
uncovered no evidence to indicate that his client was involved in a
    so-called “knock-out” game.

Genesee County Prosecutor David Leyton said he never called the
assault on the MTA bus driver the “knock-out” game. Leyton said two
juveniles have been charged with assault with intent to do great bodily
harm. He said one of the juveniles is suspected of hitting the driver
and one is suspected of recording the incident.

“According to the police report, they conspired to do exactly what
occurred,” said Leyton about the assault and recording of the attack.

The Flint bus incident occurred around 6:40 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 23, when a man was attacked while
driving the bus.The driver suffered several facial injuries, according to police.

Police originally said the incident occurred because one of the suspects
upset about having to pay a bus fare. While Leyton is not referring to the attack as the “knock-out” game, Flint police are. Flint police Capt. Collin Birnie told The Flint Journal further investigation showed it was a planned attack.

A third suspect who police believe helped orchestrate it remains
at large. Anyone with information about the whereabouts of the third suspect is asked
to call Flint police at 810-237-6801 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP

Barry Jackson, Mr. Boehner’s former chief of staff, is consulting for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, which supports an overhaul that expands high-technology visas and guest worker programs.

Will Jeff Sessions run for president?

If so, would you support him?

    • LACounty

If I vote at all I might based on what I’ve seen so far. He won’t win, but I surely won’t vote for the Repub or Demo running. NumbersUSA rates him an A+. Gay rights orgs rate him a ZERO.

    • the sound the flood the hour

No. I don’t trust the system enough to vote for anybody anymore unless
its for someone running in a local election. I don’t think its possible
for anybody to be nominated by either party unless they are being black
mailed or have been properly vetted in advance.

      Even if
hypothetically, someone who threatens the status quo, managed to run for
president that person would most likely be assassinated before he or
      she could do anything productive.

We would be much better off if
each state succeeded from the federal government then started enforcing
its own laws, kicked the feds out, rejected federal money, started
      denying benefits to illegals, ect.

Does anyone see what is going on, midterm coming up and they need votes. Keep changing it ppl dont really know what is going on then it dies

As a moderate, non hateful man I propose to legalize some illegal immigrants under the following condition:
For each illegal alien made legal, permanently deport one congressman to Nigeria or Guatemala.

Who could object to this proposal?

    • Long Live Dixie

The problem with moderates is that they tend to only be able to solve moderate problems.

IMO this is all a moot point.

“Legality” but not “citizenship”…”citizenship” but not “legality”

6 and ½ dozen or the other….the die seems to have been cast.

Secession looms, IMO, in the future.
