Drug Dealer Slain After Bragging About $125K Stop-Frisk Court Win

Kirstan Conley and Larry Celona, New York Post, January 22, 2014

A drug-dealer who successfully scored a $125,000 stop and frisk settlement was shot and killed by a robber on Staten Island Tuesday night after bragging about the windfall, sources said.

Kenrick Gray, 34, was brutally blasted in the head around 6:15 p.m. outside 140 Park Hill Avenue in Stapleton after flaunting his riches in recent months, police said. His pal, Noland Whistleton, 41, was also fatally shot in the leg and torso during the botched robbery, cops said.

Gray landed his loot after being falsely stopped by disgraced NYPD cop Michael Daragjati in 2011. The officer, who was once caught on surveillance bragging that he “fried another n—,” is currently serving out a five-year sentence in Ohio on an unrelated extortion case.

Whistleton was about to go on trial for attempted rape and was out on $35,000 bail, sources said.

The two men had over 25 prior arrests between them, sources said.

Someone should give the shooter a reward, they saved taxpayers a bundle.

    • StillModerated

I hereby award the thugs the “Crime Stopper Of The Week Award.”

  • Massif1

They can either collect welfare, sell drugs, or file lawsuits against the government in hopes of winning the lottery. And they also play lottery.

    • Kenner

Their odds are at least better than the genetic lottery they already lost.

I can’t possibly tell you how completely broken up I am about this.

Why oh why did AmRen post this? Just to torture me and make my day worse?

I looked up to those two thugs wise and sagacious examples of stellar human beings as if they were my very own personal mentors.

Soooo much win, I am tearing up here.

  • So CAL Snowman

Oh the delicious, delicious irony here. A civil rights “victim” of “stop and frisk” is killed by another black man with a handgun because the black murderer was not “stopped and frisked” by the police!

      Cannibalism amongst the opressed !

  • bigone4u

Maybe NOT a “botched robbery attempt?” Maybe a FAKE botched robbery attempt perpetrated by some righteously angry cops who settled a score? Whichever, the shooter deserves a medal for taking out two bad guys.

    • CharlesFinley

      That is a beautiful possibility!

    • bilderbuster

Three, because they arrested the Black shooter.

I won’t mourn their deaths. Why did they keep letting them out?

    • I have a bunch of arrests as well, but an arrest doesn’t always mean a conviction, does it?

      • JohnEngelman

With 25 arrests I think they were guilty much of the time. I think they got away with many crimes they were not arrested for.

      • MBlanc46

Unless you’re really putting one over on us, I can think of one significant difference between you and them.

        • I be haben some ob dat dere white pribelebdge, gnome sayin?

          • MBlanc46

Coitenly. Your principle is of course correct. As corrupt as our criminal justice system is, arrest certainly doesn’t imply crime. But with hood rats, I would be surprised if the number of crimes that they get away with doesn’t balance out the bogus arrests, so that relative magnitude of arrests is probably a good indicator of degree of criminality.

  • IstvanIN

This was a two-fer, a win win for Staten Island. Does the shooter get a reward?

  • Max Krakah

wow, they had the same number of teeth as arrests between them

  • Max Krakah

Booo hooo hooooooooowwwahhhhh HA HA HA HA HA AAAAAAAHHHHHHHH HA HA HA HA HA !

  • Erasmus

    Schadenfreude. Is there anything sweeter?

  • MBlanc46

All those arrests and this Whistleton criminal was out on bond? What do you have to do to be considered a menace to society?

    • Max

      Be white.

      • r j p

If he was White, bond would have been much higher.

  • fuzzypook

    This warms my heart.

  • Lagerstrom

He doesn’t look too bright, does he.

  • A smart fellow would have kept quiet about that money, moved far away and bought an inexpensive condo in the suburbs. In his old neighborhood, ostentatious spending basically painted a big target on Gray. Of course, it is probably “racist” to expect someone like Gray to think like a white guy, so I’ll have to cut that line of thought right out.

  • PesachPatriot

For the less familiar with rap lyrics older crowd that basically means if you have just gotten 125K playing ghetto lottery against the NYPD and live within 6 blocks of MLK boulevard you should keep your mouth shut about your new found liquidity….or perhaps invest the funds in a bulletproof vest…

    • Thank goodness the NYPD has been told to stop frisking “yoofs” for guns anymore! They might have violated someone’s rights here.

  • Some Guy

They kill over the most trivial issues like drugs, disrespecting them and the way you slice bbq. News out of Oakland CA. 14 year old kills his 17 year old sister over the way she did the laundry.

Alright! A two-for-one special! Looks like that court case wasn’t a total loss for taxpayers after all.

  • gregCall

    Kenrick is now “good”.
