Presidential Proclamation–Leif Erikson Day, 2013

Barack Obama, White House, October 8, 2013

– – – – – – –

More than a millennium ago, Leif Erikson, a son of Iceland and grandson of Norway, cast off from Norway’s familiar shores and set sail for Greenland. Erikson and his crew were not aiming to make history. But their ship drifted off course in the North Atlantic, and they landed in present-day Canada, making them the first Europeans known to visit North America. Their settlement, Vinland, sustained them in the following months. And when the seafarers returned to Greenland, they brought stories of discovery with them and forged the first link in a chain that has connected our continents ever since.

Today, we commemorate Leif Erikson’s journey. We also honor a group of Norwegian immigrants who summoned that same striving spirit centuries later. Together, in 1825, they braved uncertain waters with hope in their hearts, confident that greater opportunity and brighter horizons awaited them on American shores. The travelers were among the first to complete the voyage from Norway to New York City. And just as Leif Erikson had, they lit the way for generations to follow.

These stories reaffirm that America has always been a place of unbounded promise. We are home to explorers and entrepreneurs, immigrants and innovators. We endeavor to be a country where anyone who is willing to work hard and take risks can turn even the most improbable idea into something great. On Leif Erikson Day, we celebrate that legacy and the countless Norwegian Americans who have lived it, and we carry it forward in the years ahead.

To honor Leif Erikson and celebrate our Nordic-American heritage, the Congress, by joint resolution (Public Law 88-566) approved on September 2, 1964, has authorized the President of the United States to proclaim October 9 of each year as “Leif Erikson Day.”

NOW, THEREFORE, I, BARACK OBAMA, President of the United States of America, do hereby proclaim October 9, 2013, as Leif Erikson Day. I call upon all Americans to observe this day with appropriate ceremonies, activities, and programs to honor our rich Nordic-American heritage.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand this eighth day of October, in the year of our Lord two thousand thirteen, and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and thirty-eighth.

Why do I get the distinct feeling that this is really something from The Onion? I honestly can’t see O’Bunghole ever honoring ANYTHING that isn’t black!

    • D.B. Cooper

Like the Redskins name, us white folk shouldn’t feel the need to have a day “just for us” merely because everyone else has one. This whole thing reeks of a stunt to fan the racial flames.

    • sbuffalonative

He’s throwing whites a bone. It’s meant to blunt criticism that the Prez don’t care about white folk.

      • anew

He’s not even really doing that. Congress authorized this in 1964.

      • Paulie Walnuts

That’s like him saying ,”Hey some of my best friends are crack…., I MEAN WHITE!”

      • Formerly_Known_as_Whiteplight

Oh yeah, that’s is definitely it. I also don’t think we ought to complain about it, but in fact, seize upon it and demand more. It could be a anchor point for a renewing of the vast fact of white historical dominance and presence in the forefront of the march of real civilization. Of course, if they continue to typify Norwegians and other Northern Europeans as swarthy, even black Africans in cinema and other places (notice Notre Dame’s current logo of the “Fighting Irishman”), even this will end up a victory for Diversity and for the emerging mud zombie population.

    Leif Landed First

    • Stentorian_Commentator

Hey, what about the Solutrean Hypothesis? Ze Frenge Spaneesh type cavemen landed first!

      • I don’t know whether to vote this up for mentioning the Solutrean Hypothesis or to vote it down for saying “Ze Frenge Spaneesh type caveman.”

    • Xerxes22

No, St. Brendan the Navigator landed first.

      • Formerly_Known_as_Whiteplight

This is a claim and not supported by fact or evidence of any sort. I toured Ireland for several months in 1988 and this was one of my research points while I was there. It appears that the RCC in Ireland came up with that claim to attempt to supplant the real Viking discovery for a Christian one, as they tried to rob all credit and place in all things.

  • bigone4u

Barry Soetero or whatever he calles himself these days isn’t fit to issue such a proclamation.

    • JohnEngelman

He is to. Nya Nya Nya.

    • Formerly_Known_as_Whiteplight

Yes, but we still ought to seize on it and demand further recognition of white, European prominence in the history and progress of North America.

  • Lewis33

I’m pretty sure Leif was on of those bitter clingers…holding onto his battle axes and Thor beads (or whatever.)

    • Sick of it

Quite a few Scandinavians had become Christian by that point.

      • Shame on them!

        • Lagerstrom

Yes, look how they turned out!

        • Sick of it

I’m sure my German ancestors were glad that the raids stopped…

      • Formerly_Known_as_Whiteplight

No, it is recorded that Lief Ericson did after this event, but hardly the entire populace or even most of it until far later on. The typical scenario in Europe was the conversion, often for political reasons, of the rulers and later the forced conversion of the populaces. In the case of Vikings and all Scandinavians, they liked good stories (true of Celts as well). They were impressed by the Jesus story. They also were very tolerant and did not see the problem with believing another religious claim simultaneously with their own. They saw it more as “covering all bets.” Of course, Christianity used this tolerance to grasp power away and then kill off the Old Religion. However, remnants of that deeper and longer held cultural view crept into Christian culture that resulted and so groups like the Normans were the best knights that the Roman church could call on to do its dirty work (Crusades, Albigensian Crusade). But some of us remember and revive it, at least it’s spirituality. It serves whites in the current situation much better than this Christian mess can hope to.

    • Formerly_Known_as_Whiteplight

I take you to refer to that Obama line of whites clinging to their Bibles and guns? What a long narrative that could involve!

  • sbuffalonative

An empty gesture. An attempt to make the current administration look ‘inclusive’. You know, a token white guy thrown in. ‘White folk can’t say we ain’t includin’ ’em.’

    • JackKrak

Yep – this was probably signed along with a stack of other papers authorizing things like National Asparagus Day and the creation of the post of Assistant Deputy to the Deputy Assistant to the Assistant Secretary of the Bureau of Land Management.

Nothing sincere or significant about this.

  • Mark Hillyard

I can’t help but add this to the equation. I believe that Leif Ericksons journey was no accident, maybe of man but not of God.
Gen 48:19 “But his father refused and said, “I know, my son, I know. He too will become a people, and he too will become great. Nevertheless, his younger brother will be greater than he, and his descendants will become a group of nations.”
20He blessed them that day and said, “In your name will Israel pronounce this blessing:
‘May God make you like Ephraim and Manasseh.’ ”
We still have a way to go in making this blessing full but it will happen day by day.

    • Brian

What do we have to do with two Jewish tribes?

      • Mark Hillyard

I know it’s a big study. The ancient prophecy was stated by Jacob/Israel as being for the “latter days”, after Jesus. It also has a lot to do with how peace will be brought to this World. Doesn’t seem that way now but it’s coming. Also it wasn’t two Jewish Tribes. There were two nations due to a division, almost a civil war. Ten tribes called The Kingdom of Israel separated from The Southern Kingdom of Judah.
If interested there is a good website called Truth in History, by Charles A. Jennings. One article is called, ‘So What if we are Israel’.
This knowledge helps to explain why we are so rich and powerful and what our destiny is. In the New Testament Jesus said to the Jews, “Therefore the Kingdom (of heaven or Israel) is taken from you and given to a nation bearing the fruits thereof.” That nation was Israel then located in the European Continent and “The isles.” Josephus, the Jewish historian, points this out in his writings. “Israel is a great multitude beyond the Euphrates and cannot be counted by numbers.” Antiquities of the Jews, book 1.

        • Brian

I am aware of the united monarchy and the post-Solomonic north/south split, but Judah was used as shorthand for the southern kingdom comprising the tribes of Judah and Benjamin, while Ephraim was sometimes used as shorthand for the entire north, even though it had ten tribes and Ephraim was only one of them. The reference to Manasseh is what’s throwing me, since it was one of the 12 and not used as synecdoche for either later kingdom. Furthermore, Jacob cannot be referring to a post-Solomonic state of affairs given that he’s living about 700 years before the split. How would he think that his descendants would even be living in two kingdoms, when they haven’t even had the Canaanite conquest yet? He has to be referring to the actual, individual tribes (or their eponymous founders, Jacob’s sons) instead.

So you think America is the ‘new Israel’ then. The actual Jews had their mojo taken from them and given to us instead. I don’t know how you can enlist Josephus to that end though, who was an historian and not known as a prophet, which he would need to be to make a prediction about a future America that would not exist for another 1700 years. This quote from Josephus probably just refers to the fact that many Jews were still in Babylonia…those who didn’t choose to return after the Exile. In his time, before the Roman diaspora, there were already plenty of Jews scattered all over the Roman lands and to the East.

          • Katherine McChesney

Are you referring to ‘Replacement Theology”?

It’s a faulty doctrine and untrue.

          • Romulus

Excellent post Brian. Earlier in the year, i became exhausted posting empirical history and its implications forward. Thanks for keeping it going.

It is also worth noting that most of the jewish people (ashenazi) specifically share a common ancestry with middle eastern caucasoids, not northern ones. It is only through forced cultural conversion and massive miscegenation that they even remotely resemblecentral, western and northern europeans. The middle east IMO, should not be counted as part of europe per say.

          • Mark Hillyard

Hi Brian, I know it’s a subject which causes a lot of controversy. I attempted to explain it to a church I attended and they kicked me out. Jesus said, “Don’t be surprised if they kick you out of church!” (paraphrase)

Anyway if you read, Gen 49:1 “1And Jacob called unto his sons, and said, Gather yourselves together, that I may tell you that which shall befall you in the last days.” Jacob was telling his sons what they would look like in the end of the age.
Very few preachers know or understand this Kingdom Message and that’s due mainly to their not wanting to change their views on what they were taught at seminaries. The Northern Kingdom was never referred to as Jews, (Judeans).
There are far to many references to this phenomenon to write down in this forum. I’ll use one because many church’s, including the one that threw me out, believe that the Northern Tribes were extinguished forever. The Jews are still looking for the “Lost Tribes of Israel” and Paul the Apostle wrote, Rom 11:2 “God has not cast of His people which he foreknew.”
There is much information available on this subject if interested, go to Truth in History, by Charles A. Jennings and read some of his info.
Also the word Saxon is proven to be derived from “Isaac’s Sons”.
Hope this helps because this message will not be accepted by very many people simply because it seems crazy. We have a great destiny in spite of those who continue to attack us.

          • Brian

Thanks for the info; it has sparked some curiosity. I thought the standard explanation, though, was that the 10 northern tribes had been assimilated into the Assyrian empire, which is why they couldn’t return. If there’s some biblical record of them sticking together and being moved as a group, I don’t remember it. I’ll look into it some more.

          • Mark Hillyard

Here’s some more which may help you see this Kingdom message.

            The Remnant of Israel

            Isaiah 51:1
Hearken to me, ye that follow after righteousness, (Christian Israel)
ye that seek the LORD: look unto the rock whence ye are hewn, and to the hole of the pit whence ye are digged.
2Look unto Abraham your father, and unto Sarah that bare you: for I called him alone, and blessed him, and increased him.

This is Israel moving out of the Assyrian captivity.
            Micah 2:12
“I will surely assemble, O Jacob, all of thee; I will surely
gather the remnant of Israel; I will put them together as the sheep
of Bozrah, as the flock in the midst of their fold: they shall make
great noise by reason of the multitude of men.13The
breaker is come up before them: they have broken up, and have passed through the gate, and are gone out by it: and their king shall pass before them, and the LORD on the head of them.

          • Who proved it? Please cite peer-reviewed articles.

          • Mark Hillyard

There is plenty of information re: this subject, some even from the Jews themselves who have been searching for those lost tribes. One Jewish person wrote, “It seems that the Earth just opened up and they disappeared.”
I have a book called Who Hath Believed Our Report, by Charles A. Jennings. The book contains comments and lectures from several people even of Jews talking about how they came to understand this phenomena. You can get the book or simply read some of the information at Truth in History, by Charles A. Jennings, google it.
If by “peer review” you mean a review from University Professors and a published in a journal, I’ve never even considered looking for such a “peer review” as most Professors would balk at not knowing this info as they seem to think they are in possession of all knowledge.
The Bible has all the answers re: this situation, however there is plenty of secular information available it someone is really interested in the subject. The prophecies state clearly that Israel would lose their identity until some time in the future and I think that future is now.

          • “Information” is not proof.

  • Eagle_Eyed

    Well it’s a start I guess…

  • David Ashton

Half a leif is better than none, I suppose.

    • Romulus

Just what the heck does he mean “our” nordic heritage. He must be speaking pluraly. Negroes wish they were Vikings. There’s a video on you tube about muzzies and black migration to Iceland. Disturbing to say the least. Advocated by the bowl dyk prime minister. The barbarians are just supposed to forget tens of thousands of years of evolution and their history?!!

      • WASP

Muzzies and Negroes migrating to Iceland? I agree; it is sickening! I think some madness or something demonic has possessed the leaders of White countries.

        • Romulus

If you type muzzies immigration into Iceland on you tubes search, it should come up, unless it’s been taken down!

        • Spartacus

Muslims in Iceland are an absolute cancer!

          • Brian

300 muslims who are native Icelandic…er, something does not compute here. They are not ‘native Icelandic’. Geez, I thought Iceland would be the last holdout for this third-world sewer-dumping. Even they are succumbing. Do we have any place left at all?

            Ahmedsson to marry Fatimadottir….

          • Katherine McChesney

            Fatimadottir must be Catholic.

          • QuinnTheEskimo9

Probably converts. Christianity is dead in that part of the world.

          • David Ashton

            Another “shocking” development.

          • QuinnTheEskimo9

If that story was from 2009, there’s probably 15,000 there now with more on the way.

      • David Ashton

This will be just one minor thread in the multicolored panorama.

Ellis Island Day yet to come.

        • Romulus

In hind sight, maybe we should have returned the statue to the French. After thousands of years of warring with various races and cultures,it’s inconceivable, however predictable, to keep repeating the same mistakes of previous nations.

The suppression of knowledge denied the serfs during the middle ages and collapsing populations of the black death were contributing factors to the loss of cultural memory and historical events. I believe english archeologist Terry Jones made just such an argument.

      • saxonsun

Amazing how you lionize the Vikings. They were ruthless cowards who slaughtered helpless English monks. And blacks surely do fit that description.

        • Romulus

Cowards?!! Haha! Surely you can’t be serious? The word Vikings means Scandinavian pirate and in point of fact, the Anglish/ saxons have next to zero difference in genetic composition from the Vikings. Tribal warfare between tribes of the same race still occurs with regular frequency today (sunni, Shia, kurds) as it did then.
Believing in the false piety of the saxons in being a little naive.

To which saxons are you referring? The Mediterranean English? , who are in fact not English. The monks who brutally converted the indigenous peoples to worship a dead Hebrew? Is that whom you are referring.
Nevertheless , we should not be quibbling over which white tribe did what to whom, but rather focus on white racial unity. We can at least agree upon that, yes? Another way to view that period of history is to assume that the fair northern peoples were reclaiming land and gene pool from Mediterranean invaders, albeit the saxons bore alot of the Vikings wrath. Many times since the beginning of this year have I posted the utter insanity of white intratribal warfare. So we should strive NOT to repeat it. Agreed?!.

We’re well aware that black on black warfare is continuing today at record pace ( not that I care) but let’s not help them out by killing ourselves off. Do not make the mistake of confusing historical battle competition from the fact that the Vikings were exceptional warriors.
You should be pointing your ire at my ancestors (The Romans) not a racially similar group to the saxons. Have you forgotten what the Romans did to the celts and Germans?
Finally, even so, we cannot judge the warrior culture of the past with todays sissified standards. Instead, glorify each indigenous tribe for their achievements and celebrate their similarities not condone their differences. Thank you.

        • QuinnTheEskimo9

Yes, surely it was cowardly to cross the open ocean in open boats with rudimentary navigation…what a cowardly thing to do, brave the elements and all that and know there was a good chance you weren’t coming back.

  • Spartacus

A useless groid speaking about Vikings… A great shame for our race, that will be re-payed one day. One day soon.

    • newscomments70

Hi Spartacus, just curious…do you believe that a massive white rebellion will occur in an isolated area, or world wide? Do you believe it will happen within the next five years?

      • Spartacus

Golden Dawn is our best chance within a 5-year time frame . Greece is a small country made up of islands, mountains and hills, with an unemployment of over 20%, so it has all the right stuff . We can only hope their government pushes it too far and outlaws them, then the fighting can start . Should that be the case, many other Europeans would probably go there to fight(myself included, if I can solve my personal problems in time), and we could use some battle-hardened veterans who could then go back to their own countries with that experience .

What worries me most is Jobbik. They’re getting very strong, and I think that if they get over 20% in the next elections, they might try a provocation against one of the countries around them, maybe my own but more likely against Slovakia . That would be catastrophic for the whole of Europe, as we don’t need violence between us now .

    • Romulus

Thanks for that spartacus. See my comment above. Disgusting drivel from a @$&#!+%®€¥ mulatto!! So….., what?, a half breed Muslim gives a token nod to one of the most famous northman in history like he’s giving the event some kind of seal of approval?
It’s this kind of s**t that enraged me. Meanwhile, ni66ers are raping the fair women of the Norse and their descendants like it was free.
Gentleman, keep your ire close to your heart and ignore the kumbaya bullsquat on the TV. It will give us the strength and fortitude we will need in the future.

  • IKantunderstand

Maybe we could celebrate by pillaging Washington, D.C.

  • Garrett Brown

This doesn’t make any sense. A day for a white Nordic man supported by oboonga? Surely not. There has to be a catch.

    • GeneticsareDestiny

I’m looking for it too, but I don’t see anything in the article. Maybe he’s doing this so he can say “I don’t hate whites, I made October 9th Leif Erikson day!” when he gets accused of being anti-white.

      • Garrett Brown

He could make it a national holiday and he would still be te most anti white “politician” (party organizer) to ever step foot in the White (mud) House.

    • Greg Thomas

I’m afraid you’re right. I cannot help but think this proclamation was issued as a preamble to another amnesty push for his beloved illegal invading mexicans.

    • Sick of it

The catch is that he completely overlooked the old Swedish settlers…

      • John Ulfsson

There are towns in New Jersey as well as the Midwest that are still all Norwegian / Swedish.

        • Romulus

Don’t advertise it or it will be immediately targeted for diversity.

        • Sick of it

New Sweden existed from 1638-1655 in Delaware, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania before being absorbed into New Netherland. Quite a few Swedes immigrated to America before the Revolutionary War in general (including some of my own ancestors).

    • QuinnTheEskimo9

This was national news right? This proclamation? Just as MLK Day is national news with all sorts of mourning and praising and singing in and around the capitol.

  • Fighting_Northern_Spirit

    Is it April 1st already?

  • John Ulfsson

    Nice! I feel included.

I believe that the elites simply don’t care, on one hand and are completely brain dead on the other.
They have literally gone mad with the media fantasy world.

          • MBlanc46

They don’t care, but they’re not brain dead. They have a clear idea what they’re doing. They want to make national borders transparent to labor and capital flows and to have cheap labor wherever and whenever they want it.

          • Romulus

Unfortunately, your right! The gigantic global machinations of the economy supersede all else. One day it will not work at it’s current level. They can’t communize/socialize what isn’t available at scale, to capitalize on. The shutdown goes on par with the illusory magic green paper that is propping up the “economy”.
It will be very interesting to see what the fed will do come the debt ceiling deadline on the 18th. All indicators point to yellin(tribe clone of Bernanke) continuing business as usual.
The harder it becomes for the elites on both sides to keep the masses in fantasyland, the more the lid will close on Americas sacred documents, while more of our sovereignty is surrendered to the NWO.

  • Romulus

As if we need an effing african mulatto halfbreed to commemorate a tribe of the greatest race on planet earth. I find his his bloviating insulting to the norse. The tribe, muzzies, and ni66ers will infect their gene pool until theyre so polluted that their lands will resemble a brazilian nightmare. Even while we write, the usual deceivers are trying to write blacks and muzzies into europes history.

  • ncpride

I totally agree. Historically White countries should never fight among ourselves, but rather respect the differences between us, and always negotiate any conflict. With our dwindling numbers world wide, it’s more important than ever now.

    • But we always fight among ourselves. Historically, the only significant and permanent to a white nation is another of the same.

  • Larry Klein

The motive is to remind us yet again that we are all immigrants, therefore we should support unlimited immigration that works against our own best interests.

From what I can tell, they consider themselves a different race altogether, related to other “turanic” people, including Mongolians, Turks, Koreeans, Japanese,Tibetans and so forth .

“The leader of the Hungarian fascist Arrow Cross Party, Ferenc Szálasi, believed in the existence of a “Turanian-Hungarian” race (which included Jesus Christ). The idea was a key part of his ideology of “Hungarism”.[18]

In Hungary some fascists (and non-fascists) tried to link the ancestors of the Hungarians to Timur, the Ottomans and Japan, which some Hungarians of the 1930s described as the ‘other sword of Turan’ (the first sword being Hungary).”

“The right-wing Jobbik party and its president Gábor Vona are uncompromising supporters of Turanism and Pan-Turkism (The ideology of Jobbik considers Hungarians as a Turkic nation.)”

Now I understand how the ‘anti-racists’ feel when they accuse whites of ‘cultural appropriation’.

It riles me when intrepid European pioneers and nation-forgers are used to vindicate ‘immigration’, ie., race-replacement.

‘OMG white ppl r immigrants 2 teh romans & saxons wer immigrants!!!11’

This is meant to placate whites, most of whom probably have no idea who Lief Erikson is or was.
Columbus Day, however, used to be Oct. 12th and it was a major holiday, even the schools were closed. Now it has been deemed “native American holocaust day” or something like that.
I’d like to ask Obama to declare Oct. 12th Columbus Day and restore it to it’s former glory.

Yes, and Don Cornelius was a rabid racist.

I’m curious to know if Soetoro’s chef ever cooks chitterlings and ‘cat heads’ for his dinner.

    Inquiring minds need to know.

Leif Erikson, eh? He could have visited the burial sites of the red-headed mummies five thousand years gone when he got here. We were here long before the Vikings arrived.
There’s a lot of archeological evidence pointing to the first people on this continent being
of the Celtic tribes. I agree completely with the sentiments regarding this action-it’s just more “we’s iz awl immigints” propaganda and bunkum.

I, and my Italian neighbors and friends, are going have a great COLUMBUS Day. Savory food will be prepared and consumed with gusto, so will spirits of all sorts. Salute!

Proudly wear your Columbus discovering America t-shirts on Columbus Day since it terribly “offends” the Hispanic community. We would not want to anger the Latinos people in this country who benefit off our European-decent relatives’ labours and hardships over the centuries, now would we?

Why did the Scandinavians set up colonies in Greenland but not the North American mainland itself? There must be an answer to that.

    • A large part of the problem was the Little Ice Age; this is why the Greenland colony failed.

As part of New Sweden, the Swedes and Fins had a small claim to the New World about 1630’s in current NJ, Swedesboro. They did not need much help from Indians since they already had experience with the brutal, long winters in Sweden! They also brought the art of log cabin making for warmth and comfort.

It’s not just that event. The urge and spirit of those Vikings came with them when King Rolph (Rollo) made the deal with deal with France to establish Normandy and protect it from further raiding as a powerful vassal state of France. It was English (and French) descents of these Normans that constitute the majority of identities of the earlier explorers, from Cartier to Hudson to the Carter’s (English from Cartiers) that settled in Virginia and New England and built the richest plantation in the American colonies (Shirely Plantation) and Ben Franklin (a descendent of the Norman Crispin house), is another. If you consider the very large French exploration of North America by these Quebec French, from Louisiana all the way to the Pacific Northwest, all these French Normans deserve credit as an extension of Lief Erickson’s and the Viking’s spirit of exploration and even curiosity. According to the large and long accepted genealogical work, The Norman People in North America, it is Norman folk that make up the bulk of explorers and settlers of early, pre-20th century North America and in particular from the mid-19th century back. I am proud to be able to trace my Norman line not only to 1750 and 1630 on this continent, but all the way back to the 11th century in Normandy.

Look up Patriotic Flags online. They have a Vinland Flag available.

But I think this event is one we could seize upon and demand more factual historical recognition like this from our government, media and educational system.

I’ve long said that any non-Amerind that says that ought to go back to where his fathers came from and leave all their wealth, belongings. And of course, the Amerinds would have to go on massive, calorie and material deprivation to get back to the primitive state they hardly thrived in before the white man brought them the horse and the gun.

But there is evidence that follow-up Viking exploration and settlement did occur. In one case I can recall, the local Indians said that the Vikings married into their tribe. That tribe was noted for having members with blue eyes and recognizable features of Viking culture such as the rules of trial by combat that began with the Vikings.

  • I am waiting until they tell us that Leif Erikson had a smart-mouth black sidekick who was constantly charging in to save Erikson from his own ineptitude. Isn’t that the usual script?

As a Norse, I ‘fart in the general direction’ of such a shallow gesture, by a man who cannot even tell his own parentage. I don’t need a proclamation to know the Norse are some of the greatest minds, hearts, and mythos-makers on the Planet. Ever hear of Wagner… or Hitler? Two men who held that same race in high esteem. Is Obummer now realizing that he’s stirred up the “Saxons to Hate, and is trying to appease us, after the last five years?” God, what a slap in the face from the Obamanation.

    Divide and conquer . . .

Not to mention, desperation to hide one’s true sentiments or arouse certain contenders to argue against this move in order to pigeon-hole them.
