Bobby Rush Rips Mark Kirk’s Mass Gang Arrests Proposal as ‘Elitist White Boy Solution’

Lynn Sweet and Frank Main, Chicago Sun-Times, May 29, 2013

Rep. Bobby Rush (D-Ill.) is highly critical of a proposal by Sen. Mark Kirk (R-Ill.) for mass arrests of 18,000 Gangster Disciples, telling the Sun-Times on Wednesday that Kirk’s approach is “headline grabbing” and an “upper-middle-class, elitist white boy solution to a problem he knows nothing about.”

One of Kirk’s top priorities is targeting gangs; he has been meeting with law enforcement officials to devise a plan to execute the mass arrests.

Rush’s comments came as Kirk and Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) huddled Wednesday with Zachary Fardon, the nominee for U.S. attorney in Chicago, and urged him to keep fighting public corruption and to redouble the battle against street gangs.

The senators asked Fardon, who is expected to be confirmed by the Senate in the coming months, to put the pressure on Chicago’s largest gang, the Gangster Disciples.

Kirk said at a press conference with Durbin at the Union League Club following the Fardon meeting that he will ask the Senate Appropriations Committee for $30 million “to go after gangs like the GDs . . . and pick the biggest and baddest for a federal effort.”

“I think it’s completely within the capability of the United States government to crush a major urban gang,” Kirk said. “Just think of what the greatest generation did here in Chicago, pretty much crushing the Capone organization.”

Rush, asked by the Sun-Times to react to Kirk’s proposal said in a phone interview: “It’s a sensational, headline-grabbing, empty, simplistic, unworkable approach.”

If there is $30 million for Congress to spend, better most of it be allocated for “job creation and job training,” to address the gang problem, Rush said.

Rush’s House district includes communities plagued by gang violence. {snip}

Rush said he would like to talk to Kirk, to “get him to see the bigger picture.” He added, “I am really very upset with Mark” and that Kirk’s approach was an “upper-middle-class, elitist white boy solution to a problem he knows nothing about.”

Realizing those were very strong words, a short time later Rush issued a follow-up statement to the Sun-Times to put his remarks in context.

Kirk’s “current plan does not include the option to create jobs, provide affordable and safe housing, quality health care and improve schools in urban areas, BUT certainly a plan to incarcerate 18,000 black men is elitist. Why is incarceration the sole option instead of rehabilitation which is proven to work and not locking young men up,” Rush said in an email.

Locking up criminals works. It terrifies Democrats and black ‘leaders.

And of course convicts can’t vote.

    • The__Bobster

The certainly of a rope would terrify them more.

      • bigone4u

The guilotine even more terrifying. If it’s good enough for France …

    • Erasmus

Let me guess. Bobby Rush is “culturally vibrant.”
      *vomit*

      • Jefferson

        Don’t you mean racially vibrant.

        • Erasmus

          Yes, Rush is racially vibrant.

By saying “culturally vibrant,” I was parodying everyone who belches out “Celebrate Diversity!”

      • Svigor

Unless I’m mistaken, Bobby Rush is the same black boy who whipped Obama’s arse in race for one of Illinois’ congressional seats. Some office like that.

        • 2000, Democrat primary for IL-1. Obama tried to knock out Mr. Black Panther by playing his Tan Everyman schtick, but it failed. After that, Obama gave up the “I Am The World” persona and started in on keepin’ it real. Then when he went to the Senate and saw a chance to run for President, he started a two-faced game of trying to be both Tan Everyman and Keepin’ It Real, depending on the audience.

          • Tamara Blitzer

Gotta admit President Obama is incredibly smart and not just an extremely handsome man! No wonder many women and young girls of all types love the man!

          • Jefferson

What do you mean by Tan Everyman ? Did Hussein Obama used to to identify himself as Multiracial before adopting a strictly Black identity ?

          • Dave4088

I believe Obama was crushed because he got out blacked by former black panther Rush. At that point he made up his mind to be as black as possible which means exhibiting hatred for the white race and America.

          • MBlanc46

My take was that it was the champ knocking out a young upstart who didn’t want to wait his turn.

          • MBlanc46

I lived in that district at the time. I thought that it would really set Obama back for years, at least until Rush or Jesse Jackson Junior decided to retire. Who knew that Peter Fitzgerald would retire after one term in the Senate, that the guy who spent $29 million to buy the Dem nomination would implode due to a divorce scandal, that the winner of the Repub primary would turn out to be a sex pervert, and that the Repubs would come up with a no-hoper like Keys to face Obama. It all could have happened very differently.

    • Jefferson

Locking up all of the Gangsta Disciple members would mean 18 thousand less registered Democratic voters for the 2016 presidential elections.

      • Dave4088

You took the words right out of my mouth!

      • texasoysterman

I doubt many of those 18k bangers actually ever voted. But since it’s Illinois, even while incarcerated, someone will vote FOR them.

  • Who better to oppose rounding up black gang bangers than an ex-Black Panther himself?

Incidentally, this is Chicago’s big problem: There is such a smooth continuum between the street gangs and the politicians that it’s hard to tell where the gang ends and the “above board” political organization begins. This is why Chicago politics do everything it can to make life safe for gang bangers and their “industries.”

    • White Mom in WDC

Your statement could be applied to all cities in America. There is barely a line to separate black politicians and felons. Most black politicians are felons and most black felons are politicians or ‘community organizers’.

      • bigone4u

Too bad Obomo was not caught with cocaine as a youth and sentenced to prison. He would be barred from office, I believe, with a conviction like that on his record.

  • Perhaps Sen. Kirk’s first arrest should be Rep. Rush, or at least having the guts to stand up to him.

  • So CAL Snowman

Of course Rush is opposed to arresting known gang members. Law and Order are elitist White boy solutions, the blacks would know nothing about it.

  • Tim_in_Indiana

A columnist can’t refer to a pair of murderous thugs as “black savages” but a state Representative can refer to a colleague as “an elitist white boy” with absolutely no outrage or censure whatsoever. In other words, references to race go one way and one way ONLY. Any questions?

    • The__Bobster

Just remember who has stacked the deck against us….and it’s not the black savages.

      • Svigor

Too true. I find it laughable that some people think there’ll be a race war between blacks and whites in America. Nope. The war’ll be white vs. white (and “white”), to see who gets to decide, inter alia, the fate of blacks.

No mass conflict between blacks and whites would rise to the level properly described as “war.”

        • PesachPatriot

This is a pretty good point…white people invented war devices like the AR-15 rifle, the Sherman tank, the Apache helicopter, the USS Abraham Lincoln navy destroyer, the F-16, mustard gas, sidewinder missiles, drones and probably a bunch of other stuff I can’t think of at the moment…illegal handguns, socks full of quarters and machetes won’t be very effective against the previously mentioned technologies….if that day comes this near white person knows the right side to be on.

          • JohnC

Yes, white people have some powerful hardware, but the other side has the most powerful weapon ever invented: the word “racist.”It’s their AK-47, and it eliminates every white person in their way, every time.

        • Freey’all

I think you underestimate the number of whites who would join ranks with the federal government, which would consist of both blacks, whites and ‘whites.’ And don’t forget hispanics in there.

          • saxonsun

Yes, look at England. When the EDL protested, the libs came out in droves to protest them.

    • Homo_Occidentalis

I think calling him “elitist” was a bit superfluous, don’t you? Whenever they call you a “white boy”, it is automatically implied that you are privileged, 1%, racist, homophobic, cis-gendered scum worthy only of death. On the other hand, if we simply call them “boy” (god forbid we ever refer to them as “black boy”… I don’t even want to imagine what would happen.) it is considered a racial slur and they can sue your pants off if they so desire: http://www.economist.com/blogs/johnson/2010/11/racist_language

      • Svigor

It’s actually gotten so bad on TV that white men routinely refer to themselves as “white boys” when race is the context (white cops did this a couple times on CSI:NY, for example). Why don’t they break out their shoe-shine boxes while they’re at it? Actors have no spine, dunno what I expect ’em to do but dance for massa.

I don’t care if it means a fight right there, right then, I don’t let blacks call me “white boy” without remark. I usually tell ’em “I got your ‘boy’ right here.”

    • elreyjones

Our press is Bolshevik. And we know who are the Fathers of Bolshevism. They run our media, banks, and foreign policy. In fact, these “Bolsheviks” have prevented the massive black on white crime from being openly discussed at a national level. The result has been that tens of thousands of our peoples have been murdered and raped. It is almost a genocide. These Bolsheviks did the same to the Russian people a hundred years ago. Please study it and take notes.

Democrats oppose anything that endangers the lives of gang bangers are curtails the activity of criminals. It cuts into their traditional voter base.

  • AutomaticSlim

So, 18,000 vile thugs are “black men” , but a US Senator is a “white boy”?

I would say many things about Rush, but really, all that needs to be said is he a typical black, exhibiting “TNB”.

  • MikeS

All of the Whites should scream “RACISM” and ostracize Mr. Bobby “The Hoodie” Rush.

  • Allan477

So, Bobby Rush has his violent Blackboy solution. I prefer Mark Kirk to a semi-literate Bobby Rush.

  • Mr. E

Blacks will almost always defend even the most criminal and thuggish blacks if a white person is criticizing them. Blacks will then become belligerent when whites think that blacks all too often tolerate criminal behavior. I wonder why whites would think something like that, Bobby.

  • AnonymousTruther

Does anyone ever notice how black men always say “white BOY” even when the white MAN is clearly an adult pushing 55? No one ever talks about that. Now let me call a 50 yr old black man “black boy” and let’s see what happens.

    • bubo

There was a case not too long ago where a white school teacher called a black boy a “boy.” Kid was in middle school. I believe it cost the teacher his job or at least made his life hell for a while.

Things have been turned on their head in this country.

  • Dave4088

On second thought, let’s round up all black gang bangers and all anti-white black politicians like Bobby Rush, Maxine Waters and the like. How long will it be until Mark Kirk grovels and apologizes for proposing a common sense solution?

    • Svigor

Shock troops? As in, “OMG it’s shocking how stupid I was to think these people had any military value, whatsoever?”

      • Dave4088

Well, they are well armed, organized and have demonstrated their willingness to use violence. I’d say at this time they have more military value than the legions of pot bellied, white suburban couch potatoes and metrosexuals within our ranks.

        • MBlanc46

Organized? To some extent, yes. They have some fairly sophisticated drug operations. But they’re so undisciplined that sooner or later they wind up in a drive-by or a shoot out and wind up in the morgue. Their urge to violence almost always overcomes any organizational sense they’ve got.

  • Rhialto

The mass arrest of black gang bangers has some appeal, but so did desegragating Southern schools by deconstitutionalizing them. Fifteen yerars later, the Feds used this power to force the racial integration of all schools.

If the Feds have the power to “crush urban gangs”, what will stop the Feds from using that power to crush the enemies of the Federal Government.

    • It’s probably very possible to round up individual gang bangers because most of them have warrants and/or are violating some terms of probation. But the gangs themselves are much harder to squelch, if RICO is the basis, simply because gang relationships are almost impossible to prove.

      • MBlanc46

And I don’t know what we’d do with them if we rounded all of them up. County Jail is already over-crowded and the court system is backed up with years’ worth of cases. Some people will say “Deport them”, and would that we could, but we can’t. We can’t even ship them back to Mississippi.

  • a multiracial individual

I hate that everyone thinks elitism is a dirty word now.

  • jane johnson

When Eric(my people)Holder and the Feds set up one of the biggest Mafia busts ever, members and associates of 5 well-known Italian crime families were hauled to an army base for processing before being sent to jail. There was no talk of job training or rehabilitation for them. I wonder why not. http://www.nbcnews.com/id/41170643/ns/us_news-crime_and_courts/t/more-alleged-mobsters-arrested-east-coast/#.Uaf-opzeY_c

    • Svigor

      No eggplants.

  • Chris Granzow XI

Having many family and friends in Chicago, and knowing how corrupt it is, I think the true motive for his statement is money. We had alderman McGee in Milwaukee who was caught meeting with gang members and getting paid by them to cover their back (along with numerous other crimes he committed). He was convicted of 9 felony counts and is now fulfilling his 6 year sentence. I doubt this Bobby Rush character truly believes his own race-baiting bs. He’s just cut from the same clothe as McGee.

    • MBlanc46

I don’t have any personal knowledge of the guy, but after following his career on-and-off for forty years, it appears to me that he’s a true-believer, black nationalist, anti-white racist.

      • Chris Granzow XI

        McGee or Bobby Rush?

        • MBlanc46

Bobby Rush. I know little about Milwaukee.

  • MBlanc46

Can you imagine the reaction if Mark Kirk called Bobby Rush a N-word or even Negro? The chimp out he had in the 1980s over the Harold Washington painting at the Art Institute would look like a peaceful walk through the garden by comparison.

  • Funruffian

This is a perfect example of how democrapps reward criminal behavior. rehabilitation has proven futile over time and is a waste of taxpayer money.

  • PesachPatriot

Maybe they should just make the gangs the legitimate rulers of the south side of chi-congo and get it over with already. 30 million for job creation and training is a joke….i’m pretty sure that convicted felons with grills and neck tattoos don’t want real jobs….its much more fun and lucrative for them to sell crack and pimp out women for a living.

    • evilsandmich

An American favela; our transformation into Brazil would be that much closer!

    • NM156

      That’s “grillz”. Sheesh…

    • MBlanc46

They’re pretty much the de facto rulers.

  • bubo

Second City Cop had a blog post that laid it all out. Basically the gang bangers are employed by the Aldermen of the district. It is South American level corruption.

  • Svigor

Blacks really seem to delight in the current situation where the white people who run the media aid and abet this “white boy/black man” thing. It’s become a sort of unwritten rule in the media; white men are referred to as boys, and black adult males are referred to as men. This is pervasive across the entertainment spectrum. The only way a white man gets referred to (or even refers to himself) as a man is if there’s no reference to his whiteness; white men can be men, but not “white men.”

A sort of inverse holds for adult black males; they are never referred to as “boys,” and never as “black boys,” while “black man” or “black men” are quite frequent constructions.

Enjoy it while you can, negros. One day the YT’s money will run out, and he won’t be able to afford the mercs any more. Then we white men and you black boys will have to come to an understanding of our own. Don’t worry though, we’ll have plenty of white boys to sort out, too. It would be nice if it was while I’m still fairly young, but something tells me I’m not that lucky.

    • Freey’all

White men are alternately referred to as white males, but overall you make an excellent point that’s obvious but somehow goes unquestioned. White men are denied the dignity of being fully human, ‘men,’ They are either boys or lumped into an oversimplifying category of ‘male.’ There is always a strategy to dehumanize them. Yes, I used that term.

  • sbuffalonative

The fact is our government gives handouts to suppress civil unrest.

If the handouts stop, there will be blood in the streets. Western governments know it which is why they keep increasing benefits even to illegals.

If illegals didn’t get benefits, they would be rioting in the streets so the government pays them to behave.

The government doesn’t want to be put in a position where they have to mow down people in the streets. That’s bad PR.

    • Svigor

They also are terrified of white people getting so fed up that they start organizing on their own to handle blacks. So, really, the money the gov’t stea- er, taxes from whitey and gives to blacks is a bribe to whitey, in a weird way. Sort of like the aid the fed gov’t gives to Egypt to play nice with Israel is really a bribe to Israel. Except American whites do all the paying, in both scenarios.

  • NordicHeritage

Yes , we are 16 trillion in the red but more handouts will solve all of our problems, smh.

  • Frank Wheeler

If Bobby Rush were to drop dead tomorrow who would notice?

Why does anyone pay attention to representatives from the most forsaken parts of the country?

    • MBlanc46

I used to live in his district. Not all parts of it are forsaken. He’s a knucklehead, but for the most part harmless.

  • bigone4u

Job training doesn’t work since blacks won’t work. Better housing ends up trashed in a short time. Health care for blacks can’t cure the STDs fast enough. So much for Mr. Bobby Rush’s plan to end crime. A sane society would go with three strikes and you’re looking at the hangman’s noose.

    • evilsandmich

They ‘work’ and I think that they’re already doing the jobs that they’d like to do.

  • robinbishop34

Wouldn’t it be more accurate to say the ‘elitist white boy solution’ is to ask ‘how did we fail them,’ then suggest whites need more diversity and sensitivity training before driving home to his lily white, gated community?

  • NM156

Job training for what? Service jobs downtown? The city, state, county, and federal governments already spend $15K per annum on high school for them to no avail, and vocational education is available to them free of charge at every junior college in the vast metro area.

Ex-Black Panther Bobby Rush is now one of the most vociferous advocates of gun-control. Yet, he’s clueless as to why firearms sales are increasing.

It’s because people want to protect themselves from panthers and other vermin.

    • Better yet, Bobby Rush advocates “gun control” because it seems like half of all “gun control” advocates are the same kind of thugs and cons who aren’t allowed to own firearms even under today’s gun laws. Either they don’t want you to have what they can’t have, or they’re projecting their own criminality onto everyone else.

  • Paleoconn

Well, Bobby, why don’t you black boys come up with a solution then?
