Obama USDA Offering Women, Hispanic Farmers over $1.3 Billion in Discrimination Payouts

Caroline May, Daily Caller, September 25, 2012

As part of “a new era of civil rights” at the Department of Agriculture, Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack announced Monday that Hispanic and women farmers and ranchers who believe USDA discriminated against them can file claims to get a piece of at least $1.33 billion in cash awards and tax relief payments and up to $160 million in farm debt relief, beginning this week.

“Hispanic and women farmers who believe they have faced discriminatory practices from the USDA must file a claim by March 25, 2013 in order to have a chance to receive a cash payment or loan forgiveness,” Vilsack explained in a statement Monday. “The opening of this claims process is part of USDA’s ongoing efforts to correct the wrongs of the past and ensure fair treatment to all current and future customers.”

In February 2011, Vilsack announced the historic “path to justice for Hispanic and women farmers” to offer them an outlet to receive compensation for past wrongs without having to go to federal court.

“When I was sworn in as secretary of Agriculture two years ago, President [Barack] Obama and I made a commitment to mend USDA’s troubled civil rights record,” Vilsack said in 2011 statement. “Since then, we have taken comprehensive action to turn the page on past discrimination. Last year we entered into a settlement with black farmers in Pigford II to address pending claims, and finalized a historic settlement agreement with Native American farmers under Keepseagle that faced discrimination by USDA.”

The $1.25 billion Pigford II settlement—which covered black farmers who charged that the USDA had discriminated against them when applying for loans from 1981 to 1996 but missed the filing deadline in the original 1999 Pigford settlement (named for the lead plaintiff, Timothy Pigford, in a class action lawsuit against the government)—made headlines in 2011 for the allegations of fraud in the program.

The Keepseagle settlement made $760 million available to Native American farmers and ranchers who believe they did not receive the same farm loan opportunities as whites between 1981 and 1999.

This is the perfect Five Minutes of Hate set up.

State the moral cause on Race, Class, and Gender perogatives of justice, dare anyone to complain or ask for verification, deem them as “racist” if they ask any questions, turn the SPLC-ADL-NAACP-MSM-My People loose on them when the speak, get them fired from their jobs and kicked out of their neighborhood association, and especially removed from  the “too White”  Neighborhood Watch Program, because they are “dangerous extremists”.

When’s the last time you heard any complaints about the billions of fraud in Pigford?  Whiteys learn fast- Shut Up or Else!

    • Sloppo

Regarding the Pigford settlement I understand that the number of black farmers who suffered discrimination and required a cash settlement was greater than the number of black farmers.

      • Natassia

Yup. Michelle Malkin covered it pretty extensively at the time, as did a few other outlets like Pajamas Media.

      • Liberalssuck

What?  You mean to tell me blacks and Hispanics claim victimhood in an effort to get money?  No way!  Totally shocked.

  • This is the third settlement to interest groups the USDA is believed to have discriminated against during the Obama administration.

Obama is buying votes with our tax dollars.

    • Oil Can Harry

      Exactly. He’s buying votes.

And the proof of that is that during the last three decades not a single USDA employee- not one!- has been fired, demoted, suspended or even verbally chastised for discriminating against blacks, hispanics, women, etc.

Thousands of victims but no paper trail? Not a shred of evidence of wrongdoing?

  • Puggg

The more people can get in on this settlement, the smaller each settlement check to each individual will be.

    • John Bonham

Nah, they’ll probably just print more money if they need it..

  • potato78

It is great to spend tax payers money.

    • Spend spend spend.  Obama has no concept of money, he’s addicted to the Chinese credit card all this debt goes on.

      • bluffcreek1967

He has terribly increased our deficit and is doing his best to spend us into total bankruptacy! He is consciously and wilfully doing this. There is no doubt.

        • Well, we should give credit where credit is due.  Unlike what we would have had with a President McCain (and probably would have with Romney) Obama does not have a neocon foreign policy. Obama has withdrawn us from Iraq, reduced our presence in Afghanistan, kept a very cool head on Syria and Iran, and has not unnecessarily aggravated relations with Russia.  All this while doing targeted assassinations of bin Laden and several other terrorists.  This is saving us some money and American lives as well.

If I were grading President Obama, the 25% that goes for foreign policy I would give him at least a B on, even if I might end up failing him on the 75% related to other issues.

          • zWsA

That’s a fair assessment. Let’s not forget that the “War on Terror” cost the US $6 Trillion.

          • Natassia

No, he just helped put extremist Islamic governments into place (ie Libya.)

His foreign policy is on par with Jimmy Carter. It is just as bad as the neocon W. Bush’s policies.

      • Bergeron

Actually, we are now basically buying our own debt. What could go wrong?
         http://www.moneynews.com/Headline/fed-debt-Treasury/2012/03/28/id/434106

        • That’s a disconcertingly evasive WSJ article.  I wonder why the journalist is not clearly stating that we’re resorting to printing-press money to pay off our debts, and we’ll be hitting hyperinflation very soon with that strategy.

  • Defiant White

How is this “new era of cibbil rights” any different from the “old era of cibbil rights?”  It’s still my money being converted into gibbsme for every colored with his hand out.

In the Legend of the Golden Goose, the king (undoubtedly a negro) hacks open the goose to get at the eggs and found it empty inside.

I would say that in the Legend of the White Goose, coloreds and liberals have almost bled us dry and the goose is done.

    Put a fork in it.

  • RHG

And what will be the definition of a “female and hispanic farmer”? This is all more redistribution regardless of any real legit discrimination complaints. I am sure next on the list will be “homosexual farmers” and then “transgendered farmers”.

    • IstvanIN

And what will be the definition of a “female and hispanic farmer”?

      A hoe?

      • CoweringCoward

No, just any that knew a hoe.

      • John Bonham

         lol , good one !!

    • JackKrak

No doubt a bill to fund payouts to left-handed red-headed lesbian Eskimo paraplegic Baptist farmers with multiple personality disorder and chronic dandruff is making its way through Congress right now.

    • Yeah…Juanita, the illegal invading mexican who grows tomatoes and jalapenos in her backyard, may very well meet the definition of a “farmer” under this wealth distribution,
      based upon race, payout.

  • IstvanIN

But what about all the Filipino farmers, and Malaysian farmers, and Hmong farmers?  Don’t they deserve justice as well?

    • No…there is not enough of them to matter in the next election. Obama needs women and hispanics, so that’s who he will buy off, under the guise of the ever present and evil White “racism.”

  • Ulick

America is in full fledged steal from evil whitey phase, and the minority and Leftist politicians are laughing as white America does nothing about it.  The demographic tidal wave will make it impossible for white America to do anything about it soon.

  • tickyul

Buying votes, pandering and corrupt legislation time old traditions….and it works. Look for Mr Hussein to get swept back into the WH with stunning ease.

Come on, all the goodies he has been doling out will make a huge difference.

This country is extremely corrupt and in bad need of Constitutional term limits…….ONE term in any State or Federal office……..that is IT

    • RisingReich

The term limit for darkies should be zero.

    • toldev

I don’t think term limits would help. Corrupt politicians are a symptom. The disease is corrupt voters. Corrupt voters will continue to elect corrupt politicians regardless of term limits.

      • tickyul

I don’t want to disgust you by naming all of the creeps who have been in office term after term after term……you get the point.

What happens is…they have the ability to get re-elected over and over again by being corrupt. Plain and simple…..they sell the office so they can stay in office. Along the way they amass tons of power….leading to an increased ability to pander(special interest legislation).

Yes, the voters are part of the problem…..they vote for the creeps because the creeps are going to send goodies their way.

If you short circuit the careers of the creeps,  you both limit the corrupt pandering the politicians do…and the ability of the voters to hold too much sway over the scumaticians.

Not perfect, but an improvement IMHO.

  • NM156

Discrimination in giving loans just means that the minority applicants had bad credit. Bad credit is racism and discrimination.

    • Exactly…had they given the loans to them, there would have been accusations of “predatory
lending practices,” when they defaulted on the loans. This would result in
another payout from this corrupted government. If you’re a minority, you have
no responsibility in this society. They got you covered either way!

  • Oh look, another shakedown from the forces of diverity.  Up up and away to find more capricious claims!

  • This is just a form of reparations, get ready for more if Lord Obama is re-elected.  Hold your nose and vote for Mitt Romney.

    • John Bonham

Yeah, the problem is, if he IS reelected there will be NOTHING holding him back ..
I can see executive orders being signed left and right to circumvent congress ..
Business as usual but in hyper-speed ..

  • Natassia

Class action lawsuit against the taxpayer is more like it.

  • John Bonham

So let me get this straight ..  Money fixes everything, right ?  So after they are payed , they won’t complain anymore that they are discriminated against ??  Yeah right , this is only the beginning..

  • Liberalssuck

Why are our rights being taken away and our displacement always under the guise of ‘civil rights’?

    • RisingReich

My oh my. Apparently I’m not one of just a few who are onto the damage being “civil” has caused Whites everywhere.

White people are robbed, assaulted, raped, murdered, displaced, fired, denied benefits, muzzled and relegated to the lowest rung of life everyday…all in the name of “civility.”

We can’t speak out or speak our mind for fear we be charged with “conduct not becoming the civil.”

      “civility” is KILLING us!

Many of my posts here were deleted “in the name of civility”.

I’m “uncivilized” to point this out, right? By those definitions of “civil”, I’m happy to be uncivilized.

I hopeore people are picking up on this nonsense.

      • We’re dealing with semantics here.  Civility in the context of AR and “civility” (such as it is) in the realm of greater society are two different things.  The civility that we moderators must maintain has to do with keeping conversation and discussion on the level.  OTOH, TPTB say “civility” and mean “shut up honkey/cracker/gringo/goyim.”

        • RisingReich

The problem in the past is that I view the moderators’ definition of civility in the context of AR do indeed overlap to a minor degree with how it is defined in greater society.

Tell you what, since we agree for the most part that the ‘civility’ of TBTP is quite damaging and stifling, I’ll agree to cease fire on AR’s ‘civility’ as the moderators will define it, as payment for turning me on to this whole idea of how the word is defined in modern day context and used as a weapon to silence dissent of the modern state anti-white religion.

I refuse, however to cease fire on the concept of civility and how it is killing us, because I think it’s good ammo.

      •  Do you know of any pro-White sites that are reasonably sane and level-headed, but not afraid of their own shadows?

  • Liberalssuck

What about the white farmers getting killed in Zimbabwe and South Africa by blacks?  Where are their reparations?

  • Liberalssuck

Yep.  Can’t offend people who will never ever vote for the GOP, now can we?

  • How many Whites has the USDA “discriminated” against through their affirmative action and diversity based hiring programs? Where’s our payout?

  • Detroit_WASP

Sometimes I think we should just give up.  Let the left have their way, wreck the country, destroy the economy, civil war, death and destruction.  THEN maybe we can rebuild and start over.
    Just a thought.

  • Barrack Osama

    double post

  • Barrack Osama

This is simple government sponsored theft and wealth distribution.

  • I give Obama a little more credit than that, for two main reasons:

    1.  Three times, Valerie Jarrett tried to talk him out of it, but he ha the sense enough to say yes.

    2.  Steve Sailer noted not long after the Abbottabad raid that Obama for some reason that I can’t remember harbors a fundamental base mistrust toward Pakistan.  I think he had an inking at least as far back as the fall of 2008 that Pakistan was hiding him, because he said in the Presidential debates with John McCain that he would incur into “Pockeystahn.”

As an aside, after the raid, we found out that a UCLA geography class figured that before the raid, they figured there was an 89% probability that OBL was hiding out in Abbottabad, and the class even figured fairly correctly on the kind of edifice he was hiding in.  As it turns out, he wasn’t “hiding,” the Pakistani deep state, AQ-sympathist, was holding him prisoner.

That said, most any President would have said yes, save Bill Clinton, who said “no” multiple times when offered OBL.

  • skrunyan

Does anyone remember Shirley Sherrod, the USDA woman who resigned over admitting she discriminated on a loan against a white farmer during Obama’s first term? Do you know her ‘family’ received over $1 million of the Pigford I settlement? Do you know she filed claims for her deceased family members and pocketed the money herself? Why is she not up on charges for this fraud? These ‘settlements’ are just a hotbed for fraud and they are just Obama’s way to REDISTRIBUTE THE WEALTH.
