Roughly one in six illegal immigrants is re-arrested on criminal charges within three years of release, according to new government data being released Tuesday.

The findings, obtained by Fox News, are contained in reports by the Republican-controlled House Judiciary Committee and nonpartisan Congressional Research Service. They are the result of the committee’s subpoena request for Department of Homeland Security records from October 2008 to July 2011.

The information was analyzed by the CRS, which also broke down the information for criminal immigrants—legal immigrants who committed crimes and were arrested again over the three-year period. Together, the two groups also had a roughly one-in-six recidivism rate.

The records show 276,412 reported charges against illegal and criminal immigrants over that three-year period as identified by Secure Communities, a federal program that essentially attempts to make best use of resources by identifying and prioritizing which illegal immigrants pose the biggest threat to public safety and should be arrested or deported.

Of the 160,000 people in the database, more than 26,000 were re-arrested—accounting for nearly 58,000 crimes and violations.

They allegedly committed nearly 8,500 drunken-driving offenses and more than 6,000 drug-related violations. The records also show major criminal offenses, which included murder, battery, rape, kidnapping and nearly 3,000 thefts. Roughly 2 percent of the crimes included carjacking, child molestation, lynching and torture, according to the 13-page Congressional Research Service report.

“The Obama administration could have prevented these senseless crimes by enforcing our immigration laws,” the committee chairman, Rep. Lamar Smith, R-Texas, said. “But President Obama continues to further his anti-enforcement agenda while innocent Americans suffer the consequences.”

The report showed that more than 7,000 of those re-arrested were illegal immigrants. Among their charges were 19 murders, three attempted murders and 142 sex crimes.

  • I agree with what the Republicans are doing here.  But their first order of business ought to be cleansing their own house and their own establishment of the people that directly benefit from cheap Hispanic labor.

Hey folks, help me shut down these anti-whites at this link:

Wow, the more I learn about the Russians the more I admire them. They are still strong.I think maybe the west is too rich for its’ own good. When you are poor and scraping by, your survival instincts are much finer tuned.
Russians are capable of violence towards those who would visit violence on them. Westeners bemoan and cry.Notice the 911 hijackers did not attempt to take over a plane with boxcutters in eastern europe. this is because of two reasons 1. the Russians on the plane would have shoved those boxcutters into painful orifices and if the hijackers wered successful Putin would have nuked Mecca if neccessary.

      • Epiminondas

“Too rich for our own good.” You hit the nail on the head. Excessive wealth has created a class of arrogant people who spend their time telling the rest of us what to do.  And if we don’t listen well enough, they run off and pay their hired politicians to pass laws to shut us up.

Working on it…. Good work White Mom!

I like your modifications of BUGS-style verbiage to suit your opponent.

  • Rocky Bass,

Catch and release  has a purpose, and that’s not to bring crime rates down. Oh no our gestapo wants us living in fear, cowering behind locked doors never uniting with our countrymen, never demanding change. Our gestapo wants us begging them to take away more and more of our oh so dangerous freedoms as to make us safe. Who, already being/feeling safe, is going to lay down for ever increasing enslavement? This whole immigration thing is all about power and control and once (probably already past) enough of us have been replaced or diluted sufficiently at the polls they will seize ABSOLUTE POWER.

  • Another report that the GOP will do nothing with out of fear of alienating that mythical hispanic vote.  How many Republicans support amnesty?

  • Church_of_Jed

You will one day see these same RINOs smiling on the stage while holding hands with LaRaza in celebration of “our new, more humane comprehensive immigration reform that allows families to stay together and makes the American Promise of Equality come true for all who can get across our border”.

  • Biff_Maliboo

Family values don’t stop at the Rio Grande.

They all want to come here and open Chik-fil-a franchises.

  • Up to my neck in CA

Is Antonio Villaraigosa poised to be America’s first Latino president?

    Are you kidding me?

    • Jerrybear

That slick slimeball can only get elected in 75% Mexican districts.  He was going to run for governor but opted out when the scandal broke that he was cheating on his wife with a  univision reporter.  Needless to say, his Mexican constituency voted him back in despite the neocon myth that Hispanics are social conservatives.  His whole political career has been pandering to illegal aliens and La Raza.  This would fail miserably during a national election.  What a joke indeed.

    • I hope not. He and that Univision reporter broke up and he was dating a white reporter for KTLA channel 5.

  • tickyul

Demorats……………..Republirats, Haha, neither party is will ever enforce immigration policies

  • This disputes the theory that illegal aliens do not commit crimes because they do not want to attract the attention of ICE. But I always thought that illegals were automatically deported upon completing their sentence. But I guess that never happens or they end up crossing the border again.

    • bluffcreek1967

In truth, Mexican illegal aliens are so brazen these days because they know most of the State of California is made up of Mexicans (illegals and otherwise). They also know our federal immigration laws are extremely laxed. To add insult to injury, they also know our judicial system is weak and our jails are overcrowded.

    • Xanthippe2

In many areas of CA, they are just released back “into the community” after completing their jail time.  This is not just in Sanctuary Cities such as SF.

  • These kind of articles should be filed away under the category of How You Know It’s an Election Year.

Democrats and those staunch Liberals who are in love with themselves will tell you what they want you to think. Then they use it against you at every turn.

Republicans and those blinded-by-faith Conservatives tell you what they think you want to hear. Then they use it against you at ever turn.

It’s 2012! This crap has been going on for decades! Not a single thing has changed in all this time. What kind of mentally deficient fool buys into a product that has such a long track record of failure, treason, deceit and lies?

    • bluffcreek1967

“What kind of mentally deficient fools”? White liberals, government officials, guilt-ridden Whites, people who have no clue as to what is occurring politically and socially in this country – including an entire host of ‘enemies within’ such as the ACLU, various lawyer associations, and government unions.

I don’t want to be overly pessimistic, but for crying out loud it looks more and more each day that this country is doomed!

  • jeffaral

Rep Lamar Smith is lying, AGAIN.

  • JohnEngelman

If illegal immigrants were deported this would not be a problem.

    • Illegals will never be deported because the Republicans want and need cheap labor and the Democrats see the illegals as potential voters.

      • JohnEngelman

That of course is the crux of the problem. The point is that the Republican Party is equally complicit with the Democrat Party.

  •  A lot of people are going ooga booga ook ook eek eek scree scree over this Ted Cruz that won in Texas yesterday.  I fear we may have another Marco Rubio on our hands.  The big difference, though, is that Cruz is saying all the right things, answered Numbers USA’s questions the right way.  But…remember Q.D.’s Axiom #40:  Words are as meaningless as dirt.  Actions have consequences.  Pay attention to people’s actions, not words.  Cruz has really no substantial record on immigration, and didn’t have to deal with immigration issues while Texas SG.

The closest he came to dealing with an immigration issue was defending Texas’s death penalty against the Mexican government in a case called Medellin vs Texas.

Meanwhile, on the day Rubio was elected, he already had a record on immigration, and it was bad.  While he was Speaker of the Florida House, he sat on restriction bills and pushed open borders bills.

  • Which is why we are committing national suicide by not deporting these invaders!

So you think the business people who hire Aztec Hispanics, who also act like Aztecs, are being pressured to do so by a small network of people?  Who?

You are saying that the business leaders are now the employees — do you mean that the Marxist revolution nearing completion then?  Did the importation of intimidating working Aztecs did enable the working man to dominate his employer?   So La Raza has WEAKENED the employer, enabling mob control?

You have interesting views, feel free to expand.   The Aztec importation must stop.  Who turned on the Aztec wormhole?
