13% in U.S. Foreign-Born, a Level Last Seen in 1920

Rebecca Trounson, Los Angeles Times, May 11, 2012

The U.S. foreign-born population has risen to its highest level since 1920, with 13% of all those living in the nation in 2010 having been born elsewhere, a new report from the Census Bureau shows.

Forty million of those residing in the U.S. in 2010 were born in other countries, up from 31 million, or 11% of the total, a decade earlier. The foreign-born share of the population dropped between 1920 and 1970, hitting a low of 4.7% in 1970, before rising again for several decades.

But that growth has slowed in recent years as immigration has dropped, census officials said Thursday. Most of the recent increase in the foreign-born population came between 2000 and 2006, said Elizabeth M. Grieco, chief of the bureau’s foreign-born population branch.

California is home to the lion’s share of the foreign-born population, with 1 in 4 residing in the Golden State, the new report shows. Twenty-seven percent of the state’s population of 37 million in 2010 was born abroad, up from 26% in 2000.

Three other big states, New York, Texas and Florida, accounted for a third of the nation’s foreign-born population, with New York having the second-highest total at 11%. {snip}

The report details many characteristics of the foreign-born population, showing that on average, foreign-born households are larger than those of people born in this country, have more children younger than 18 and are more likely to include three generations or more living under one roof.

The foreign-born were more likely to be employed than native-born Americans, the study showed. Sixty-eight percent of the foreign-born population age 16 or older were working in 2010, compared with 64% of those born in the U.S. {snip}

But people born elsewhere were less likely than those born in this country to have health insurance and more likely to be living below the poverty line. Among regions of birth, the poverty rate was highest for the U.S. foreign-born population from Latin America and from Africa.

More than half of the nation’s foreign-born people arrived from Latin America and the Caribbean, with most of those from Mexico, the report showed. More than a quarter of the total came to the U.S. from Asia, with about 12% from Europe, 4% from Africa and smaller percentages from other regions.

“We really do have it worse than future generations will. Our curse is that we remember when America was not a Third World country. Our torment is living through the horrid transition downward. But in two more generations, White children won’t know the difference. They will think the Diversity Curse is normal, just like kids today think that having two daddies or two mommies is normal, and just like we think electricity is normal. We don’t have the capacity for imagining life without electricity, in spite of pictures and stories from the centuries before electric power. Soon, White children will look at pictures, see videos and other artifacts, and read stories from the dark and shameful days when some social disease called ‘unearned White privilege’ ran amok. Their ability to really imagine or sense what we had and are now losing will be as limited as ours is for understanding the lives of those who lived in the distant past and had to hunt down and kill an animal or starve to death.”

Sadly, this post above is the future.

    • Global Minority

God help us. This post is right on the money sadly enough.

    • You’re right about that.  That vile man Tim Wise has said something similar.  That the youth of the future won’t know the Norman Rockwell America. They won’t know how great things were.

Pop Quiz:  The most Hispanic state in the country is New Mexico at 50%.
    Guess what it’s percent foreign-born is….

Ten percent!  It’s BELOW the national average of thirteen.
Mexican immigrants don’t come here for the culture, and know their own doesn’t create wealth.
They come here to get paid by the gringo.
So tell them, the only way we can keep our economy up, is we have to run it ourselves.

I agree with you. What they don’t understand is that if White people become a minority in America AND either the globalists continue to run this country or nonwhites eventually run this country, these same Hispanics will NOT have the First World income and other benefits they have become accustomed to.

A little factoid about European immigration from the 1840s to 1920s is that a lot of them went home.  The feds didn’t keep departure records until just before World War One so no one is sure of how many.  Estimates are that about one-third packed up and left.

I mention that because I have to imagine that a lot of these immigrants today have to be pretty disappointed with what they find in the barrios or ghettos or wherever they end up.  There are parts of Los Angeles that are little better than Guatemala.

When we were a white-dominant country, non-whites wanted to jump onboard.  But with a black dictator in power, recession, high unemployment, high crime, lousy schools and expensive food, I’m sure Haiti’s looking pretty good to some of these newer arrivals.

Could be that the more whites coalesce, the more non-whites will pack up and go back where they come from.

Large numbers did return home. Some because they had made their fortunes and wanted to spend their remaining days in the old country. Some because they couldn’t make it here, especially during the Depression. I’ve heard that up to two thirds of the Italians went back.

  • In 1920, they made us better, in 2012, they will destroy us.

    • In 1920 they where mostly 1stworlders. Now they are mostly 3rdworlders

More immigrants mean more people. More people mean more customers and more job applicants. By the law of supply and demand this means higher prices, lower wages, and higher profits. The high rate of immigration is a major reason for the growing income gap that liberals complain about, while promoting immigration policies that exacerbate it.

Add in the kids of foreign-born people in the US & the de fact percentage is closer to 20-25. I know the kids are technically “Americans” but self-identification and their sympathies put them with their parents. Think about – a quarter of the country……

The big difference between now and then is that the great majority of immigrants in those distant times were white Europeans.

    Now they’re, ah…. never mind.

    • Indeed, that is they very era my ancestors left Saxony, unable to make it through the nasty times of the Wiemar ‘Republic’. They took great pains to tell their children that they were “American”, and never spoke a word of continental Saxon to them, even though they lived as potato-farmers and in almost the exact manner that they did in the Second Reich.

The elitists don’t care. They plan on sitting at the top on their piles of money and ruling us serfs no matter who we are or where we come from.

You assume that rich people are liberals, and visa versa.

There are quite a few rich conservatives who do not care about the white working class conservatives who vote Republican.

The Republican Party has become the party of the white majority of all income gaps. Nevertheless, the Republican Party exists in order to advance the economic interests of the richest ten percent of the country. If you keep that in mind you will never be surprised by what Republican politicians do, regardless of what they say on the campaign trail.

“However, I was warning that poster about what she’s wishing for. I was disturbed by the flippancy of that post.”

Agreed.  Our worst enemy is overconfidence.  Make no mistake, I know it will take more than courage to face what’s coming.  I’m no prognosticator and have no special gift for forseeing the future… but what I do know is human nature and history.  You can guess future actions based on past activity.

No matter who takes the White House in January, we’re facing economic meltdown (and all the troubles that comes with it).

“I nearly as shot and killed at least twice, bullets missing me by a foot is something I will never forget. I have given and taken punches, kicks and blows for my race as well as myself.”

Do not discount what has happened to you.  It has made you stronger, though you may doubt it now.  As a lifelong soldier, I also have suffered greivious injury at the hands of the non-whites, to include a gunshot wound.  If you don’t mind, I will spare you the details.  Just know that you and I are more alike than not..

“I do not want to harm anyone, even if I am forced to do so, but I will if someone forces me to. ”

I can only say that you have more empathy than I do.  Mine was burned out of me long ago.  We are who we are, and nobody can change that.

“The danger of wishing for the stuff hitting the fan is that chaos is unpredictable and uncontrollable, with unpredictable consequences that can give one what he wants alright, only not the way they want it.”

It isn’t a matter of wishing at this point, but I agree with you.

Bad Things will happen, soon- our past actions have dictated the future.  It IS going to happen at this point- The Point of No Return was passed long ago, probably before you and I were born… perhaps even before my father was born (1931).  Change means that chaos will happen.  You cannot have one without the other.  Accepting that Bad Things are on the way is only half the battle.  You cannot prepare for everything, but you can do what you can with what you have.  Nobody can ask more of you.

At his point, just be grateful that you have huge advantages:

    1.  You are a member of the white race- this alone is a HUGE advantage, even when considering genetics alone.

    2.  Just by the virtue of being white, you benefit from being more intelligent than the Orcs and Trolls.  Your intelligence is your most powerful and potent weapon.

    3.  You are not a member of the parasite demographic.  Not having to rely on taking the King’s Shilling for your daily bread means you are self-reliant.

    4.  Being forwarned, forarmed and thus: prepared, is a giant advantage to your surviving the Bad Things.  Depending on how well prepared you are, you can save others who might not be of like mind, but will quickly defect to our side.  But choose wisely who you decide to save- make sure they have skills you need, or are at least smart and able enough to learn those skills.  No useless eaters.  We got too many of them today anyways…

    5.  Remember:  Whatever nastiness befalls you, that nastiness is also befalling the Orcs and Trolls, but a hundredfold worse.  When things break down, they won’t be able to rely on themselves when their connection to the Government’s teat is severed.  They are not, and will never be, prepared to make it on their own.  They never learned how to begin with, like we did.

“To put a happy face on our situation is however unwise and foolish, very bad times are ahead for us, and there is no avoiding them now. Our main concern should be ensuring our “tribe” if you will survives this tribulation and plans for what comes afterwards..”

True.  My immediate concerns for survival are myself, my immediate family, then comes friends and neighbors, then everyone else.  Hooking up with other whites near you and making a formalized plan is paramount to the survival of “our tribe”.  It will happen in small pockets here and there, but those pockets will coalesce together and form larger communities.  Same as it always has been.

The important thing to remember is that when these communities form and come together, that non-whites are excluded from them from the beginning.

Low IQ immigrants won’t help the country. They are dependent upon the wealth creators of whatever ethnicity. If the latter are discouraged or persecuted, who will benefit? It’s the quality of immigrants which matters, Ted Kennedy notwithstanding.

  •  “Kennedy”, is to me a modern form of “Quisling”… a new phrase for TRAITOR.

  • Well, they didn’t lose their white skin, and the blue eyes might be rarer but they are still commonly found on White people with vowels ending their last name. Now we might lose everything… it is much more dire now.

  • Never believe a word from them…
