Gal Battered In S.I. ‘Bias’ Assault

Angelina Cappiello and John Mazor, New York Post, Sept. 24

A Staten Island girl may lose her sight in one eye after being viciously assaulted by five students in an apparent racial attack, cops said yesterday.

The girl, Christina Kenny, is white. Her assailants — four girls and a boy — are black.

She said she was held down as another girl beat her with a bottle until it broke over her eye.

“They kept kicking me and punching me saying, ‘You’re a white bitch, you think you’re so pretty,’ “ Kenny said.

She said the girls ripped out her hair and stepped on her ribs.

The attackers fled after an adult intervened, but not before the boy allegedly kicked Kenny in the head and neck.

Doctors say Kenny may have suffered a detached left retina and may lose sight in that eye.

She-Wolf Pack

Murray Weiss and John Doyle, New York Post, Sept. 24

Four schoolgirl members of a Brooklyn wolfpack were hauled off in handcuffs yesterday, a day after a racially charged attack on two parochial-school students on a city bus, police sources said.

The four girls were taken into custody around 3 p.m. as they waited for the B9 bus at Avenue L and Nostrand Avenue, about a block from Andries Hudde IS 240 in Marine Park, where they are believed to be eighth-graders.

The four — three African-Americans and a Hispanic — were part of a group of 10 to 12 girls who knew each other from taking the same bus every day and being “obnoxious and rowdy,” a police source said.

On Thursday, one of the pack on the bus spotted the two 16-year-olds in their Catholic-school uniforms, the source said.

“Look at the f — ing white cracker bitches,” said one, according to the police source.

“Yo, you should be in the front of the bus,” another said.

The four girls went back to where the two parochial students were seated and started punching one of the girls while continuing to rant racial epithets and slurs, the source said.

The bus driver got on the PA system and told them to “stop what’s going on back there,” the source said.

The two white girls got off the bus at Nostrand Avenue and Avenue L — followed by the others, who again began to punch the same girl, the source said.

She suffered a black eye and bruises on her lip. The other girl was not struck.
