Do you believe in the American dream—the idea that in this country, hardworking people of every race, color and creed can get ahead on their own merits? If so, that belief may soon bar you from getting a license to teach in Minnesota public schools—at least if you plan to get your teaching degree at the University of Minnesota’s Twin Cities campus.
In a report compiled last summer, the Race, Culture, Class and Gender Task Group at the U’s College of Education and Human Development recommended that aspiring teachers there must repudiate the notion of “the American Dream” in order to obtain the recommendation for licensure required by the Minnesota Board of Teaching. Instead, teacher candidates must embrace—and be prepared to teach our state’s kids—the task force’s own vision of America as an oppressive hellhole: racist, sexist and homophobic.
The task group is part of the Teacher Education Redesign Initiative, a multiyear project to change the way future teachers are trained at the U’s flagship campus. The initiative is premised, in part, on the conviction that Minnesota teachers’ lack of “cultural competence” contributes to the poor academic performance of the state’s minority students. Last spring, it charged the task group with coming up with recommendations to change this. In January, planners will review the recommendations and decide how to proceed.
The report advocates making race, class and gender politics the “overarching framework” for all teaching courses at the U. It calls for evaluating future teachers in both coursework and practice teaching based on their willingness to fall into ideological lockstep.
The first step toward “cultural competence,” says the task group, is for future teachers to recognize—and confess—their own bigotry. Anyone familiar with the reeducation camps of China’s Cultural Revolution will recognize the modus operandi.
The task group recommends, for example, that prospective teachers be required to prepare an “autoethnography” report. They must describe their own prejudices and stereotypes, question their “cultural” motives for wishing to become teachers, and take a “cultural intelligence” assessment designed to ferret out their latent racism, classism and other “isms.” They “earn points” for “demonstrating the ability to be self-critical.”
The task group opens its report with a model for officially approved confessional statements: “As an Anglo teacher, I struggle to quiet voices from my own farm family, echoing as always from some unstated standard… . How can we untangle our own deeply entrenched assumptions?”
The goal of these exercises, in the task group’s words, is to ensure that “future teachers will be able to discuss their own histories and current thinking drawing on notions of white privilege, hegemonic masculinity, heteronormativity, and internalized oppression.”
Future teachers must also recognize and denounce the fundamental injustices at the heart of American society, says the task group. From a historical perspective, they must “understand that … many groups are typically not included” within America’s “celebrated cultural identity,” and that “such exclusion is frequently a result of dissimilarities in power and influence.” In particular, aspiring teachers must be able “to explain how institutional racism works in schools.”
After indoctrination of this kind, who wouldn’t conclude that the American Dream of equality for all is a cruel hoax? But just to make sure, the task force recommends requiring “our future teachers” to “articulate a sophisticated and nuanced critical analysis” of this view of the American promise. In the process, they must incorporate the “myth of meritocracy in the United States,” the “history of demands for assimilation to white, middle-class, Christian meanings and values, [and] history of white racism, with special focus on current colorblind ideology.”
What if some aspiring teachers resist this effort at thought control and object to parroting back an ideological line as a condition of future employment? The task group has Orwellian plans for such rebels: The U, it says, must “develop clear steps and procedures for working with non-performing students, including a remediation plan.”
And what if students’ ideological purity is tainted once they begin to do practice teaching in the public schools? The task group frames the danger this way: “How can we be sure that teaching supervisors are themselves developed and equipped in cultural competence outcomes in order to supervise beginning teachers around issues of race, class, culture, and gender?”
Its answer? “Requir[e] training/workshop for all supervisors. Perhaps a training session disguised as a thank you/recognition ceremony/reception at the beginning of the year?”
When teacher training requires a “disguise,” you know something sinister is going on.

If everyone were forced to speak nothing but the truth under penalty of incarceration, there would be no such thing as liberalism.
They’re keeping it up and they’re going to pay the price for it.
Who’d have thunk it possible? The State of 10,000 lakes, Hubert Humphrey, Garrison Keilor, and Dennis LeRoy Anderson!!

If you truly believe “the idea that in this country, hardworking people of every race, color and creed can get ahead on their own merits,” then this means you do or should oppose affirmative action. Let’s see a prospective teacher say that in the University of Minnesota pedagogy program.
It’s good to know what schools to refuse to support.
“Racism” is the modern witchcraft.
It alone explains life’s disappointments to those who expected better. There can never be an excuse for practicing it, or any defense to its accusation. It needn’t actually be witnessed to be proved, the mere observation of what could be its effects demonstrates guilt. Friends, neighbors and relatives are encouraged to publicize private acts to expose those might be practicing secretly.
“the Race, Culture, Class and Gender Task Group at the U’s College of Education and Human Development recommended…”
The name tells it all…truly Orwellian.

I think the best defense is simply to shine a bright light on these nefarious activities. At some point the public will have to draw the line and stop sending their kids to that university.
And what, pray tell, will the self-appointed committee do, even if their orders are carried out, when it becomes apparent that black students will still be failing miserably, no matter what “assumptions” are being used to address them?
“How can we untangle our own deeply entrenched assumptions?”
We can’t and we should never try because our ‘entrenched assumptions’ are the product of life experiences.
Anyone who tells you to deny your personal reality is demented and dangerous.
I would suggest watching “The Killing Fields” but I fear these people might pick-up new ideas.
I am a retired teacher in the CA public schools. I went back to school to get a credential and master’s degree; what I found there was quite close to what’s described in this article. All courses were “geared” to force us to see that the prevailing viewpoint was racist, bigoted, homophobic, and unfair to “special needs” children. It was an unabashed Socialist, even Marxist, viewpoint that was REQUIRED of all students. One of our professors did not buy this viewpoint, and instructed us realistically on how to pass the written “compendium” exams that were required for our master’s degree. He was not PC in any way, refused to toe the party line, and was suddenly fired right in the middle of the semester because of his “radical” views. We protested to no avail. He had a heart attack from the stress, and I don’t know if he ever recovered. Fortunately for us, he had imparted enough of the truth to us that I for one was able to easily pass the required exams on my first attempt. I was sickened at what had happened to a much-loved professor, who had given the majority of his life to teaching would-be teachers at the university level. What university? A private one, and one that formerly had a good reputation: Chapman University, HQ in Orange, CA. Yes, I got my M.A. in record time - but what had happened to education since I had been in grad school in the 70’s I found to be horrific. The standards were WAY lower, and individualism was dead. This is Socialism, folks.
The process described in the article above is called “dispositions” in California.
See this web site to learn how dispositions appears everywhere in the San Jose State University course descriptions:

See this web site to read the comments of a federal judge about the facts of a law suit by a student who ran into dispositions face on. The law suit was dismissed for lack of an appropriate statute, but the facts are unquestioned:

“In a report compiled last summer, the Race, Culture, Class and Gender Task Group at the U’s College of Education and Human Development recommended that aspiring teachers there must repudiate the notion of “the American Dream””
Repudiate the American Dream? This is silly, American youth don’t even understand and cannot relate at all to the American dream - at least not as how it was scribed by Benjamin Franklin. Someone was writing about it (without explaining what it was) on a message board and everyone chimed in condemning the blogger as heartless, selfish, an all around bad guy.
Hmmm…sounds like something that would have occurred on an “Animal Farm”, maybe around “1984”. Seriously, this really is a frightening article.
There are only two solutions here for the white people of Minnesota. HOMESCHOOLING! Then prepare yourself for the wave of hate filled anti-white minorities that the state is getting ready to unleash on an unsuspecting public.
Not even I thought they would go this far in making excuses as to why minorities don’t do well in school. Blame EVERYONE and EVERYTHING, but don’t ever, ever, EVER tell the truth.
Any absurdity becomes truth when ones livelyhood depends on it. If one is paid to preach the world is flat, the person who says the world is round immediately becomes both stupid and evil. People don’t like the way they feed their wife and kids critisized. These people actually believe in what they’re doing. Puting a doctrinal orthodoxy filter into the entrance requirements to the noble task of teaching children, inhibits any new ideas in a obviously failing endevour. They will tinker around, working under false assumptions, continually failing forever, on the taxpayers dime. The same silly requirements are used for other jobs: personnel, union leaders. Preaching Boas/Lewotin is hate speech.
“The task group is part of the Teacher Education Redesign Initiative, a multiyear project to change the way future teachers are trained at the U’s flagship campus. Outrageous!! The report from this task group should be filed in the basement of the University Library under lock and key and accessed only by researchers looking for examples of ideology run amok. Further, any staff members having contributed to this report in the affirmative should be summarily dismissed and denied employment elsewhere in the University system. I’ll wager that Bill Ayers would be proud of this crowd of left wing freaks in their audacity to submit such malicious tripe.
The Dept. of Education of the University should apologize profusely for ever having chartered the production of this report and announce that an adherents to such ideas in the ranks of the DofE should resign forthwith before they are discovered and fired. I wonder if Gov. Pawlenty could intervene here to expedite the process resolution.
Wake up folks! This is the handiwork of William Ayers (the guy who is suspected of writing the books for Obama) and others. Ayers (in his younger years) is the guy who bombed the Pentagon and got away with it. He then sneered that this can only happened in America. The Illnois crowd, Arlie Duncan (current Secretary of Education)/Ayers have corrupted the Chicago education system beyond recognition. The kids’ classroom education is how to be a community organizer. Ayers and others have a mission (no matter how long it takes) to re-make the nation’s education system into their model with the end result in the deterioration of this nation. They are not into teaching academics but rather revolution (turmoil) against the very ideals and structure that founded and nourished this country. The negative changes happening in this country are insiduous and dangerous. These people strongly believe in the morality of their cause.
I note that comments are open on that article. I would encourage people to provide feedback on the site about this brainwashing campaign.
This is old news in many states, and explains a great deal; how many eternal sophomores, products of these schools, have appeared on these boards over the past few years? Wholly ignorant with respect to any traditional academic discipline (including, often, English grammar) but wholly conversant with the evils of “heteronormativity,” they surface now and then to continue their teachers’ work on people who have somehow fallen through the cracks sufficiently to recognize brute facts and specious argument when they see them, especially with regard to the Multicult catechism.
The University of Minnesota’s plan to “reeducate” aspiring public school teachers recalls an observation by NYU professor Diane Ravitch in her widely acclaimed book, The Language Police: How Pressure Groups Restrict What Student Learn (2003).
In describing the elaborate “bias and sensitivity guidelines” textbook publishers must use in creating the books IF they hope to sell to school systems, Ravitch McGraw-Hill’s guidelines as an example:
“The MH [McGraw-Hill] guidelines express barely concealed rage against people of European ancestry. They deride European Americans for exploiting slaves, migrant workers, and factory labor; they excoriate the land rapacity of the pioneers and mock their so-called courage in fighting Native Americans: ‘Bigots and Bigotry,’ say the guidelines, referring to European Americans, ‘must be identified and discussed.’ European Americans, the guidelines suggest, were uniquely responsible for bigotry and exploitation in all human history …” (p. 44)
What the University of Minnesota is doing is only logic. The teachers ought to be in doctrinally in sync with the textbooks.
This is the worst form of educational fraud.
The very children (poor, non-White) who already start out at a disadvantage (two years behind when they enter school) and most need a traditional curricula will suffer grievously by being subjected to fraudulent ‘social justice’ brainwashing instead of academic knowledge.
Sol Stern in City Journal writes:
“… E. D. Hirsch has exhaustively shown, the scientific evidence about which classroom methods produce the best results for poor children point conclusively to the very methods that the critical pedagogy and social justice theorists denounce as oppressive and racist…”
9mmMax writes:
“…I’ll wager that Bill Ayers would be proud of this crowd of left wing freaks in their audacity to submit such malicious tripe…”
You are exactly right, since he is one of the creators and founders of the specious ‘social justice’ movement:
From City Journal:
“…One of [Ayers] several books on the moral imperative of teaching for social justice is a bestseller in ed-school courses…. Now Ayers and his social justice movement, by dismissing the civic culture ideal as nothing more than ‘capitalist hegemony,’ subvert the public schools even further…Ayers is spreading the word about radical social justice teaching. He maintains a busy lecture schedule at other ed schools around the country, and he does teacher training and professional development for the Chicago public schools.
One by one, the education schools are lining up behind social justice teaching and enforcing it on their students..”

The above link is to the excellent City Journal article that dissects the ‘social justice’ movement and details the Steve Head case that Donald mentions above.
The only solution for Whites is to immediately remove your precious children from the grips of the communist brainwashers, vote down any and all school bonds and vote for school board members that reflect your values.

A - 10 black people

E - 10 people most like yourself
If the American dream is over, why bother to teach?
The Race, Culture, Class and Gender Task Group appear to have taken its “hate America” views from other haters like the Rev. Jeremiah Wright. The task force’s own vision of America as an oppressive hellhole: racist, sexist and homophobic speaks volumns about the members of the group. It would be interesting to learn the races of Groups mnembers.
Lets just look at the racist hellhole that America is:
First, America has been the best country on earth for black folks. It was here that 600,000 black people, brought from Africa in slave ships, grew into a community of 40 million, were introduced to Christian salvation, and reached the greatest levels of freedom and prosperity blacks have ever known.
Second, no people anywhere has done more to lift up blacks than white Americans. Untold trillions have been spent since the ’60s on welfare, food stamps, rent supplements, Section 8 housing, Pell grants, student loans, legal services, Medicaid, Earned Income Tax Credits and poverty programs designed to bring the African-American community into the mainstream.
Governments, businesses and colleges have engaged in discrimination against white folks with affirmative action, contract set-asides and quotas, to advance black applicants over white applicants.
I could go on and on but I think you get the picture.
I attended a state school with a large education department, and from what I saw many of the students needed no indoctrination. They were true believers in the America is racist, sexist, and otherwise bigoted gospel. I graduated in the early 90’s, so it may be reality has hit today’s students. Indeed, the need for such an organized response by UMN leads toward that conclusion. The increasing volume used by PC forces sounds like desperate shrieking.
So now the American Dream is racist, sexist and homophobic?
I swear I ever had lots and lots of money, I’d leave this country in a heartbeat. The liberals have totally ruined America, which is why no one will ever see me saying the Pledge of Allegiance anytime soon.
Whenever I come up against this stuff, I start talking about social class. As a genuine working class skilled tradesman for many years, I have moral ascendency over these parasites and they know it. I never reveal my views on race, I simply insist that class is the distinction that matters. None of them have had the stuffing to try to make me back down.
You don’t have the freedom of your own opinions anymore? The sacred privacy of your own thoughts, the inner sanctum of your own mind? Everyone must be forced, publicly, to reveal their innermost thoughts and made to confess? This is ghastly.
How can you fight against this deep rooted ideology? All dissenters are marginalized and demonized and cannot attain power in government. The godless have maneuvered into all seats of influence and power. How short of violence can sane people ever hope to regain control of their country or at least regain equality?

Next thing, they will outlaw homeschooling. It will be strictly illegal. That’s coming next. Expect it!
In totalitarian societies, The State does not tolerate any competition, and its dogmas are not to be questioned.
And be careul whatever values you teach your children at home. You may be brought up for Child Abuse, negligent parenting, or something such.
Oh, and another thing — if America is an “oppressive, racist hellhole”, then why are non-whites from around the world struggling and sneaking to get in? Shouldn’t they be struggling to get out?
Tell me which nation in the non-White world would allow this? If this would have happened in India, the Indian media would have howled about it, people would have marched to the university and some might have even broken in and done a bit of damage. Finally the government would have taken action on the University for ‘anti-national activities’. The principal of the University might even had been arrested by the police. This is what normal people do. This is how a normal nation would behave. Whites, alas are not normal at all. Universities, the media and the schools have been anti-Britain/ anti-U.S.A/ anti-White etc… for several decades now. But no one took any action till now. Apathy, excessive tolerance, obsession with football/ beer, blind consumerism and genteelness on the part of White people has lead to this mess. The liberals and the globalists cannot believe how easily their plans are working. Wake up now and take action. Find out the people behind this and take them to court. Start many organisations (SPLC’s for White people) which would regularly prosecute the enemies of your people, the enemies of your children. Call your politicians. Do not let them get away.
””“Racism” is the modern witchcraft.”“
That should somehow be a t-shirt or a poster. Picture of being burned at the stake with the word witchcraft struck through and racism beside it.
How true this all is! Quote..”The initiative is premised, in part, on the conviction that Minnesota teachers’ lack of “cultural competence” contributes to the poor academic performance of the state’s minority students.”..Unquote. Just how long have White teachers in USA and UK told the ‘others’ that they are no longer in Africa, Pakistan or Mexico or where-ever else their families originated but must understand exactly where they, and their pupils, now live and by whose lifestyle, culture, morality and standards they must aspire to if they are to succeed. Either that or sink into the educational and corrupt quagmire that is ‘back home’. But it gets worse. Here in UK there is yet another devious plot by our ‘animal farm’ government to elevate the undeserving, under-qualified and failed students far and above those who have already proven their worth to attend our own Universities in England and so grant the best of our citizens their birthright.

Given the inability of modern school teachers to teach cripple kid math and 3rd grade English,I doubt if teaching them liberal tripe would matter. They would learn as much tripe as they do algebra. You don`t major in education if they would let you in business school. The average SAT score at the Unversity of Florida for education majors was 150 points below engineering students. It used to be the smartest woman in town was the high school English teacher, today it is lawyer with an MBA from Ivy Tech. I teach a volunteer class in civics a couple of days a year. Before I talk to the kids, I teach the class to the teachers. I have yet to find a teacher who knew all the following: the names of our senators; what a county seat is; where Mexico is on a map; and the difference between being indicted or convicted.

Look, I’m a teacher. I’ve been teaching since the early 90’s. I’ve seen how the internet, Ipod and Gangsta’ Rap have basically destroyed student values and transformed them from what we used to call being a competent student to being an entitlement baby who can’t focus, can barely think and who equates learning with boredom.
You know how it is so fashionable to blame the teachers in the media for the decline in American students’ ability? It’s the sidetrack par excellence! Teachers are better trained now than ever before. The problem is with the declining student quality we are having to deal with. Yes, most Latino immigrants are barely literate and are in no way prepared for a traditional advanced curriculum (as compared with their educational systems). Yes, nearly all black kids come from broken homes and are many grade levels behind.
Obama, Duncan, even the Bushies all blame the teachers for not being miracle workers. Can a car company build quality cars if the majority of the parts coming on the factory floor are flawed and/or unusable? I taught for many years in a private school, and the majority of my students were south Asians. I had no problems and the kids did fine.
When I started working for a public school in a large urban area consisting of 100% black and Latino students, within a month I self-generated the mantra, that I repeat quite often - America is doomed.
I kid you not - the points brought up in this article are happening all over. The militant social justice people are everywhere, rooting out any dissent from their belief system. So many good teachers are being hounded out of the system because they believe students should be accountable for their work. Admins don’t want that because old-fashioned accountability makes their school look bad.
Most teachers I know, and I know a lot of them, give kids passing grades and admit that they don’t deserve them. They’re all scared of losing their jobs! The urban youth are really quite a job to tackle. A good day is when all you hear are curse words and see only minor scuffles. A bad day - well, you know about how bad urban classrooms can be.
To be fair, I must say that the Latino kids are, on average, much nicer than the black kids. Kids from Columbia, Venezuela, Ecuador and other places are, by and large, quite wonderful. Even half the Mexican kids are actually really good too. Of cuourse, the other half are gang bangers, but what can you do.
At the end of the day, the America we knew is dying, and a new and uncharted hell-hole awaits our descendants, who will find their nation breaking up into separate countries within 50 years. America R.I.P.
“I’ll wager that Bill Ayers would be proud of this crowd of left wing freaks in their audacity to submit such malicious tripe. ” — 9mmMax
You many have hit on something there. Bill Ayers is actively involved in re-designing the education of children. I wonder if, indeed, he (or some of his disciples) did have some involvement in this. It sounds like just his thing.
This is no more than the latest in a long line of “reasons” to explain away why American blacks and Hispanics have average IQ’s in the 80’s while whites and Asians average in the low 100’s. A half century ago it was unequal schooling, which many might have believed since there was little to compare it to. Gradually, over 50 years time, we have observed that the statistics haven’t changed, so the PC left has to continue to manufacture new arguments. They can’t dare admit to themselves, let alone anyone else, that the old adages were largely true. I know a cultural lefty who purports to not believe in IQ and won’t even discuss race-based problems. Some non-whites have actually suggested resegregating schools, either by ethnicity or gender, arguing that blacks, boys, etc. learn differently. But the mainstream is too afraid of “racist” labelings.
I didn’t even finish this article or read all the posts but will later when time permits. The bottem line is there is a global effert to level the playing field at a genetic level. The more progressive succesful human types are being taught to feel quilty of their heritage to the point of the group sato-masohism we here on Amren are all familiar with. We should well be grateful for sites like Amren… as the noose tightens around the white mans neck…freedom of ideas, association and the will to preserve our Identity will become increasingly under assault by the Cains of this world that always outnumber the Abels. The diligent are always the true minority. Just last night in random conversation with an eigth grade teacher I just met …he was proud to admit that miscegination is already in full swing in his classes and these young teens are proudly all keeping their new class of mixed breeds in defiance of the old ideals and likely relishing the idea that these kids will be raised economically by people who not only are at odds with miscegination but hardly have the money for their own family. We are sliding toward global socialism with the lowest elements via “Compassion” ruling over the more self restrained and reliant.
As RandyB said, “Racism” is the modern witchcraft.” Indeed it is. And those who practice it are the modern heretics. To the stake with them!
There is no defense against it. Mere suspicion amounts to a verdict. To be accused is to be guilty. And the guilty must suffer.
This is becoming a dangerous mania that could get out of control!
“They were true believers in the America is racist, sexist, and otherwise bigoted gospel. I graduated in the early 90’s, so it may be reality has hit today’s students”.
Young whites are in a tough spot, because though they may have the tiniest feelings of racial consciousness trying to emmerge, they’re beatin down with these constant denials in public. That’s not the way it works for non-whites. Not at all. So… for the most part students are filled with anti-white sentiment, I think. I remember when I was in college, the book ‘The Bell Curve’ by Charles Murray discussing ‘racial differences’ had just come out. If discussion ever turned to Murry or the book, I would always say, “What a racist. How can he say Asians are more intelligent that whites?” Students would really object to what I said. THIS was the racist thing to say. And oddly enough, Very racist. It wasn’t something they could specifically explain on a conscious level, but somehow I was taking away from black ‘oppression’, apparently, and everyone has learned, of all things, that blacks are always the true victims.
Anyway, these kids may indeed need quite a re-education. . just not in the manner the mediaversity is giving it too them.
Proud American’s post is good, but he should credit Pat Buchanan, because he’s quoting from one of Pat’s columns: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2192393/posts
What irks me is that many parents are FORCED to financially support such indoctrination centers. Their paychecks are garnished for child support payments if the child chooses to attend college. In my case, I’m open to suggestions as to what I can do to avoid supporting those evil organizations. I may become a martyr and end up in jail.
All these comments full of outrage at this - and yet I’ll bet most of you send your children to public school, have never read their textbooks, and truly believe that while public education as a whole is lousy, YOUR school is excellent. Just like Jay, who insists most teachers are more qualified than ever; it’s just the lousy students. Sorry, Jay, I don’t buy it. Most teachers I’ve known (as a student, as a parent, as a friend) are of lukewarm intellect at best. They’re natural liberals, imbued with the desire to save us from ourselves and do it “for the children.”
I’ll agree that today’s students are ignorant and selfish and incredibly coddled - and that goes for the children of all these wonderful teachers as well! Even in Christian schools, the minority children get a pass on their behavior and their effort and their ability - in the name of loving one another, of course. I don’t possess the nature to successfully homeschool, so my kids go to private school (at considerable family sacrifice) and have their education supplemented/emended via parental instruction.
I suggest everyone here put away his faux outrage and actually start to do something about it personally - starting with one’s own children. Anything with the adjective “public” is automatically suspect - something to bear in mind, please.
This is yet another reason why the PC culture is outrageous. It is strictly a one-way street. Blacks can say any insulting thing about whites while whites better not even suggest the slightest critical thing about blacks. The above article is a classic example with the statement that America is an oppressive hellhole: racist, sexist and homophobic.
The first step toward “cultural competence,” says the task group, is for future (white) teachers to recognize—and confess—their own bigotry. PC is also to blame for the murders at Fort Hood!
Yet another reason, as if we actually needed one, to home-school your kids.
Not only will your children not be used as punching bags by Fourth-World immigrants, they will not be brainwashed into young Marxist fellow-travellers by tax-funded left-wing political hacks masquerading as instructors.
Unfortunately, those who enter education as a career today are generally Marxists already, and will not actually need the brainwashing the University of Minnesota is purporting to require. Normal university students who want to enter education doubtless quickly change their majors to other fields.
Americans, by and large, don’t understand what goes on in the universities. They ARE the center of the One World Government(Animal Farm)scam. The “hard as nails” leftists, the “True Believers” in those establishments, will never, ever, stop their drive to carry out their leftist programs for the U.S. and Western World in general. Despite the massive, never ending evidence, of the failure of their programs and the chaos they cause, most Americans and Westerners in general, seem totally oblivious to it all.
” Donald wrote at 8:14 PM on November 24:

Yes, I remember hearing about those. Thanks for refreshing my memory.
“Dispositions” means, in effect, Ingsoc - the reigning party dogma. You shall believe it, or you shall not teach.
Universities are beyond the point of reform. The best thing to do, in my opinion, is block all funding for schools, vote down every bond, block every tuition increase. Attack the overhead rates at universities as usurious. Bankrupt the universities, squeeze the proffesoriate - bankrupt THEM.
The trend of causing new generations of Americans being educated to see the history of European-Americans as totally negative has been going on apace for decades, only it is now becoming more grotesque and extreme with each passing year.
I recall back in the 1960’s a book called “Custer Died for Your Sins,” that made him out to be evil at the Battle of Little Big Horn, as a prelude to many more titles of a similar nature, all criticing and denigrating “Dead White Males.”
The fact that the founder of the country, George Washington, is now only one of various presidents honored with a holiday on Presidents Day is another sign of how little our previous heroes are held in esteem.
Worse and worse is yet to come, barring a Depression-like economic downturn, which might finally be a wake up call for the new, largest minority group of school age in this country, the
European-Americans.
There was a high school in a pleasant, safe, thriving white suburb. The school was exemplary and in the nation’s top ten.
Well, the inevitable happened and its status rapidly fell in less than two years.
Twenty years later because the blacks were still performing dismally, an expensive ‘consultant’ was hired to deconstruct and brainwash the teachers, as it is ALWAYS assumed that the disparity in outcomes is due to white’s racism against nonwhites.
Here is the program:

And here is a critique of the diversity education hustle (anti-white racism) that’s a booming business.

What is truly irritating about American Neo-Marxism is that Marxism is so dead and gone everywhere else in the developed world. I have been reading Lezek Kowlakowski’s “Main Currents of Marxism” and in it he makes the perfectly cogent point that Marx was constructing a metaphysical meaning out of class divisions, and that hanging on to such a metaphysical system when events have proven the physical system wrong is madness, pure and simple. No one except a few American academics who are in woefully critical positions in the educational field believes his tripe anymore. No one in Russia, nor in China, nor anywhere…except in Cuba and North Korea.
And here is where I think we find a reason for the impossible persistence of Marxism in the USA. Personally I think it is infatuation with Fidel Castro, that pre-eminent rebel, still working malevolently on the minds of the American daydreaming class.
We have to remember the enormous propaganda campaign conducted by Communist fronts on behalf of Castro during the vulnerable 1960’s. Even today we see Che’s image on t-shirts. The lordly god of revolution lives, or so we are supposed to think. Of course if we were to ask the Cubans…but never mind, we won’t. They can’t come to the camera..they’re afraid to.
As Jose Prieto said, much better than I could: “The way the inhabitants of Cuba lower their voices when they speak in public or make any mention of the government. The fear that rips the whole country apart, the mistrust and betrayal that make any attempt at forming a group, any spark of opposition virtually impossible. Not armed opposition, even just peaceful opposition!
A fear some declare to be in remission: “our heroic nation” will overcome, etc. They are mistaken. Its profound and lasting effect will stay with us through vast zones of our future life. Several generations are irremediably marked, harmed, by fear. There’s much sadness in what I’m saying now, a sadness no political campaign in all its optimism will ever want to accept. But I’m not engaged in politics, and I can say it: this damage is probably irreversible.
Ten thousand signatures are collected in a country with a population of 11 million, and this is deemed a victory—which it most assuredly is: a great victory! But isn’t it also, and shouldn’t that be said as well, clear evidence of a population harried by fear? A widespread, deep-rooted fear. And the whole country is permeated with it, this fear that fatally manifests itself in lack of initiative, dark uncertainty, all that so palpably differentiates our generation from the previous one, from people born in freedom and without fear.
Some will argue with me on this, some will say, No, there is no fear. And I can present no counterargument, no “data.” I will only add, in bewilderment: but if I myself, if I myself, still now, as I write this, am full of fear?
It’s the most polished fiction of them all, the most captivating saga. On the same scale as other myths of the American continent: the Conquest, the wealth of El Dorado.”
So, here we have the Great Payoff we all can expect if Marxism gets its way with us in the USA: a lifetime of fear, and a dreadful awareness that one’s children and grandchildren will live in fear also. Because they will have to be obedient, and God help them if they aren’t.
FIRE (Freedom For Individual Rights in Education) has taken up this issue:
Dear President Bruininks:
FIRE is deeply concerned about new policies at University of Minnesota-Twin Cities proposed by the College of Education and Human Development… … These intentions violate the freedom of conscience of the university’s students. As a public university bound by the First Amendment to the United States Constitution, the university is both legally and morally obligated to uphold this fundamental right.

FIRE fought another similar case at the University of Delaware:
”..The demands appear to be similar to those promoted earlier at the University of Delaware.
After an intense campaign led by the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education (FIRE), the University of Delaware has dropped an ideological reeducation program that was referred to in the university’s own materials as a ‘treatment’ for students’ incorrect attitudes and beliefs.’…”

I suspect it won’t be long until FIRE is declared a Hate Group by the $PLC, ACLU and Justice Department and sued out of business.
Bon
the University of Delaware has dropped an ideological reeducation program that was referred to in the university’s own materials as a ‘treatment’ for students’ incorrect attitudes and beliefs.’…”
What on earth is an “incorrect attitude or belief”? And WHO is empowered to tell us?
Lord, what are we coming to? I remember reading about these things going on in China and Cuba and Cambodia when I was younger. Now, we have it right around the corner here!
What on earth is an “incorrect attitude or belief”?
And WHO is empowered to tell us?
——————————————
Good question! Is there now a Pope of Diversity? Who is the infallible last word on matters of holy doctrine? Where is the sacred scripture of Diversity written? Who is empowered to chastize dissenters and punish the deviant? Where did they get their authority to judge us and dictate to us, to reward us and punish us? Who are these holier-than-thou people who instruct us, lecture us, correct us, and chasten us? Just asking.
