Genetic Trait Boosts AIDS Risks in Blacks

New research suggests that people of African descent are much more likely to have a genetic trait that makes them more susceptible to infection with the HIV virus.
Scientists estimate that the trait—which also provides protection against a form of malaria—might account for 11 percent of the HIV cases in Africa, the continent hardest hit by the AIDS epidemic.
Overall, the finding shows how the past history of evolution and disease still affects people today, said study co-author Matthew J. Dolan, of the Wilford Hall United States Air Force Medical Center and San Antonio Military Medical Center. “The benefit that the Africans got from a mutation that gave them some resistance to malaria has, statistically at least, rendered them some increased susceptibility to HIV,” he said.

The findings were published in the July 17 issue of Cell Host & Microbe.
The researchers found that a genetic trait—found in 60 percent of African-Americans and 90 percent of Africans—makes HIV infection 40 percent more likely. The trait is virtually nonexistent in whites.

Dolan estimated that the increased susceptibility could account for millions of extra cases of HIV.
On the other hand, people who have the trait live an average of two years longer with the disease once they get it, the researchers found. “It’s a two-edged sword,” said study co-author Dr. Sunil K. Ahuja, a professor at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio.

And, as I’ve seen with the Sickle Cell Anemeia trait, chances are they’re going to blame it on “The Vast White Conspiracy to Kill People of Colour (i.e. them)”.
However, there is also a gene throughout Europe, who’s frequency decreases from north to south called “CCR5 Delta 32-” and is somewhat effective in combatting HIV/AIDS.

Perhaps this is natures way of trying to control the rampant expansion of a useless population.
However, unprotected, wild sex is the cause for the high numbers in blacks regardless of this possibility.

No, high risk activity, such as promiscuity, homosexuality and a refusal to use condoms makes one susceptible to HIV. Let’s downplay the real issue here and blame it on those pesky African genes. After all, like everything else that happens to them, it is not their fault.

How convenient. I suspect this data is false, like the “recent droughts” in Zimbabwe caused the present starvation, not the murder of the white farmers.
Whenever there’s some explanation for black pathology, I always suspect the data or the excuse to be false.

Just as IQ doesn’t account for anything until a black man is on death row, so too genetic differences don’t account for anything unless they can be shown to adversely affect a black man.

They are ‘susceptible’ because of their life style, not because of their genes. Stop with the excuses.
Many researchers warned e asians to get ready for a huge aids epidemic in their countries few years ago since europe, us, and africa were having them. This never materialized because the asians in general don’t have a super promiscuous life style. Most sexual services are gotten at brothels which are monitored. Most average asian women don’t run around with multiple bfs and sex partners. Africans are the opposite in the sexual spectrum and hence the problems with aids. White countries are somewhere in between but the black and brown populations have the highest rate after the gay population.

This is perfectly logical. Blacks have because of genetic makeup the ability to jump high and run fast. They also lack the composition that white people have that make blacks less and whites more accomplished in intellectual pursuits and disciplined in their emotions.
The problem is that America makes social policy that does not take these characteristics into account.

I think that the real problem is caused by the recently discovered CRSA Chromosome that has apparently been in Africa for milennia. This particular chromosome affects behavior which can lead to severa infections; HIV being only one of them.

The leftist establishment wants to have their cake and eat it too when it comes to race. They want blacks to be blameless so they attribute AIDS to genetics. On the other hand they claim that race is only a social construct - which means genetics isn’t involved to any meaningful extent. Somehow they can’t see this obvious contradiction and it never occurs to them that there could be other genes that affect intelligence and behavior. Whenever somebody suggests such a possibility, that person is labeled a “racist” and ostrocized - and yet they have the gall to point to the paucity of scientists who publicly acknowledge racial differences as evidence of their non-existence. To what is this similar? To an agent of the Spanish Inquisition defending the Inquisition by saying that few non-Catholics have objected to its policies. Of course, anybody who would object was instantly suspected of being a secret Jew and would end up being tortured.

Just because Africans are better, have better genes, in some area’s, does not automatically mean they are worse in others, tho I’m sure that is a feel good assumption to make.

I always enjoy your intelligent posts.
Yes, many actual Crypto-Jews in Spain and those accused as such were not only tortured but burned for “purification,” so their confessed souls could get into heaven. How kind of them!
But this was not limited to those accused of being Jews or just Spain. It happened all over Europe and even a great deal in Southern Germany. It affected anyone accused and suspected of being a heretic, a pagan, a witch, etc. For the sake of “expediency” the legal limit on the witness of children younger than ten was removed, allowing children to bring charges against anyone. The accused were tortured into naming their companions in the heresy. Those were then sought out and similarly treated. Since the judge and executioner was paid from the estate of the victim, it became an industry that left few villages and towns unscathed in Europe, especially Southern Europe. This went on for centuries with times of higher and lower activity.
Yet the Protestants had their own version, and the example of Mathew Hopkins, the Witch Finder General (d1646) used witch hunting as a way to enrich himself and execute anyone suspected of loyalty to English Catholicism. And of course, his fine type made it to New England and provide us with the final examples of witch trials in Salem and other Puritan settlements. It isn’t difficult to trace the modern Christian Conservative movements back to the Witch Finder General of the English Civil War.
Once source for those interested in learning more on this subject can be found in many places. Cornell University actually happens to have a huge collection of original manuscripts on this far too long period of European suffering via the Christian Church. Rossell Hope Robbins compiled a book titled, “The Encyclopedia of Witchcraft and Demonology” which is actually a compilation of records of surviving manuscripts of tortured confessions and executions, including Joan of Arc, which is really astonishing to read.
Whenever politics and political activism becomes too self-righteous, it risks the repetition of not only the spirit but the eventual actual practice of the longest and darkest period in human history. So dark, that remnants of it crop up even in Amren posts occassionally.
I hope we of European ancestry can survive by more intelligent means rather than repeat our own self-torments.

I am not at all surprised that this includes HIV. What I wonder about is where Asians fit in with regards to resistances since most viruses and infectous diseases have always and continue to originate in Asia?
On an aside, I always personally scoff at the Amerind complaint of how we Whites brought our “white diseases” to wipe them out. Amerinds were originally Asians and both dieease and Ghenghis Kahn came from Asia and tormented Europe. They only paid the price of being sequestered from the rest of the world for too long.

I’d like to mention in the genetic vs behavior debate that black behavior IS in fact genetic. This is easy to see by the fact that no black society, no exceptions, has ever engaged in behavior different than what is considered downright pathological by our standards. A handful of talented blacks can rise above this. Their children can not, unfortunately. Almost all blacks who live among us, maintain this pathological behavior.
Why is that important? Because no method of trying to get them to succeed will ever change anything. You can educate them. You can give them resources. You can treat them kindly. You can punish them. You can whip them every day and dominate them in the most cruel ways imaginable. You can even breed with them to add white traits to the mix. NOTHING CHANGES.
The only solution is to get rid of them. The US has been avoiding that realization for nearly 150 years now. One wonders just how much of a social cost we are willing to absorb, before the fact that they are simply incompatible with us, hits home.

Centuries of living in Africa, where Malaria is a natural disease conferred an immunity to it. However copulating with animals and the resultant diseases is NOT a natural disease therefore they don’t have a resistance to it. Maybe if they quit screwing everything that moves they wouldn’t have introduced aids to the entire world.

I’m far more concerned with the increasing transracial sex going on between white and non-white races.
The white races collectively make up approximately only 6% to 7% of the world’s population so it doesn’t require much deduction as to just how much devastation relentless invasions of infected non-white hordes into white homelands will wreak in a mere handful of decades.
God help us! We sure are in huge trouble when it comes to the critical matter regarding racial and cultural survival.

Witches were probably viewed by the men of the times as early feminist and you can readily understand how normal men would agree to get rid of them as subversives upsetting a peaceful society. Hanging was certainly the humane way, burning at the stake was definitely going too far.
If I would write some actual history of how the Jews along with the Persian army massacre the Christians of Antioch in 640 AD, would the editor print it as relevant to any American Renaissance issue? I doubt it, so why the knock on the Inquisition?
The fact is the Inquisition was a radical advancement in justice. The Catholic Church did not burn anyone after the Inquisition found them incorrigible heretical. The Church held forced conversion absolutely wrong. The permissible way for Catholics to convert Jews is through prayer and good example.
Those the inquiring body regrettably deemed guilty were turned over to the civil authorities. The state executed the heretics; perhaps a technicality, but nevertheless they were not burned by the inquiring body of the Church.
