Ilhan Omar’s husband, political consultant Tim Mynett, has spoken out after federal agents raided the Minnesota congresswoman’s Washington, DC, residence as part of a criminal investigation into her immigration records, while also addressing questions about her reported absence from public view.

Asked by Fox News Digital whether Omar had left the country amid rumours following the raid, Mynett expressed frustration with reporters and said their presence was disturbing neighbours.
“You guys are annoying the hell out of all the neighbors around here, man,” he said.

Mynett has maintained that he has no concerns about the investigation. Speaking to Fox News Digital earlier this week, he said Omar came to the US as a child refugee.
“My wife came here when she was 12 years old as a child war refugee,” Mynett said. “No concerns.”

The investigation has also reportedly extended to Omar’s relatives, with at least two family members receiving subpoenas, according to Fox News Digital.
One of them was identified in reports as her sister, Sahra Noor.
