Five teenagers arrested in connection with a Downtown Crossing attack on a woman wearing braids is the latest in a recent string of incidents involving a “specific group of violent juveniles,” according to Boston police.
A person called 911 around 7 p.m., telling police a group of 10 to 15 girls were attacking two females near the intersection of Winter Street and Washington Street, according to a partially redacted police report.
When police arrived on scene, officers said they saw about 20 teenagers in the area and were approached by a woman who “appeared to be in distress and highly animated” with a large bump forming on the right side of her head, the report states.
A witness showed the officers a cellphone video of the woman, who was born in 2002, being punched and kicked numerous times by a group of about five people who appeared to be teenagers, the report said.
The woman told police that she had been standing at the intersection when a group of girls approached her, calling her a “white b—- with braids,” the report states.
She told the girls she identified as Hispanic and started to walk away, but the woman said a girl came up and pulled her hair and then the group began to punch and kick her.

WCVB has published video of the Boston woman being beaten to the ground by a group of black youths. The youths accused her of being a “white bitch with braids” who appropriated a black hairstyle.
