The ‘Facebook of Knitting’ Bans Pro-Trump Support
Alyssa Fisher, Forward, June 24, 2019
A popular online knitting community has banned all support for President Trump and his administration from its social network, The Washington Post reported.
Ravelry, which boasts 8 million members, announced the decision Sunday.
“We cannot provide a space that is inclusive of all and also allow support for open white supremacy,” the site said. “Support of the Trump administration is undeniably support for white supremacy.”

“We are definitely not banning conservative politics,” it said. “Hate groups and intolerance are different from other types of political positions.”
