David Hogg: Big Media Mistake in Parkland Coverage Is ‘Not Giving Black Students a Voice’

Justin Caruso, Daily Caller, March 23, 2018

Parkland survivor and gun control activist David Hogg said that the biggest media mistake in covering the shooting was “not giving black students a voice.”

“Every single day we have over 96 gun deaths,” he continued. “And if you look at a place like Chicago, if you look at a place like Liberty City, or almost anywhere that’s of lower socioeconomic status or just has more people of color, the media does not cover the same.”

“They cover it for one day and it’s about maybe a 30 second segment. If this happens in a place where a lot, honestly, people in the upper middle-class area of America that are predominantly white, live, it gets covered for weeks if not years.”
