The Search is Over for #TheNextMrClean

Proctor and Gamble, January 24, 2017

After three months of reviewing hundreds of audition tapes, Georgia native Mike Jackson has been selected as #TheNextMrClean and will help fill the legendary Mr.’s white shoes while he takes a much-deserved extended vacation. Jackson’s innovative and creative take on Mr. Clean’s iconic jingle, his strength, bald head and willingness to tackle any mess, solidified him as the winner. In addition to winning $20,000 and a large supply of Magic Erasers, Jackson starred in the production of a 2017 limited edition Mr. Clean calendar.

“It’s definitely a dream come true to become the next Mr. Clean,” said Jackson. “While it’s impossible to replace the iconic Mr., I’m excited for this opportunity to help people tackle the most seemingly impossible messes while he’s away… and have some fun!”

Jackson hails from Atlanta and currently works in sports marketing, managing events and emceeing. He enjoys working out, traveling (he’s been to 48 states) and reading. He collects hotel room keys and loves the watching Science Channel, History Channel, ESPN, and Family Guy.

In addition to the limited edition calendar, Jackson will be joining DeMarcus Ware, outside linebacker for the Denver Broncos, to support Mr. Clean as he makes his Super Bowl ad debut in Houston at the end of the month.

“Mr. Clean has been tough on grease and grime for 60 years and we’re confident that Mike has what it takes,” said Kevin Wenzel, Associate Brand Director, NA Surface Care, P&G. “We had so many great entries in #TheNextMrClean contest and we are very thankful for everyone’s enthusiasm and participation.”

The search for #TheNextMrClean started on September 7, 2016 after actor Kellan Lutz debuted his own audition at an event in New York City. Hopefuls were able to audition online or in person in several major US cities.

From removing scuff marks and dirt, to cleaning grime off bathroom floors and removing stains from outdoor furniture, Mr. Clean is so tough, you can take him anywhere!
