Ann Coulter: Mitt Romney Shouldn’t Attack Trump, He Should Target Jeb for ‘Act of Love’ Comments
Matthew Boyle, Breitbart, July 6, 2015
Now 11-time New York Times bestselling Ann Coulter is calling out former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney for attacking Donald Trump over immigration. She even flipped Romney’s criticism back in Romney’s face.
Appearing on Sirius XM Patriot’s The Mike Church Show while this reporter guest hosted on Monday morning, Coulter called all the establishment Republicans in the 2016 field a “bunch of pussies.”
“Walker and Cruz are the only ones who are not ridiculous and utter cowards,” Coulter said.
It’s more than–it’s not that I need someone who is so brave or so smart. At some point, I’ll take any Republican presidential candidate who can do math. If Hispanics are voting against you 40-60–and that was the big success of the Bush administration, let’s keep that in mind, that was our high-water mark with the Hispanics–and that’s with George Bush spending four years constantly Hispandering from the White House having weekly radio addresses in Spanish, a Spanish language webpage and he was campaigning with that half-Mexican nephew of his as if he was a running mate–and the half-Mexican nephew gave a prime time speech at the Republican National Convention that was partly in Spanish while Bush was pushing amnesty, and all he ends up with is 40 percent of the vote? Republicans, can you do math? If any group is not voting for you by at least 51 percent, you’re losing. You’re losing. So yeah it’s looking pretty bad. As you know from the last chapter of my book my longstanding hope for 2016 was a Romney-Walker ticket.
After again noting that, as a presidential nominee Romney had a “primo record” on immigration, Coulter criticized Romney for attacking 2016 GOP candidate and real estate mogul Trump. She also questioned why Romney hasn’t uttered a peep about former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush’s statement that illegal immigrants to the United States are engaging in an “act of love.”
“It has to be said: Romney has a 20-year primo record on immigration. Vetoed in-state tuition for illegal aliens, vetoed free healthcare for illegal aliens,” Coulter said.
He was going to veto driver’s licenses for illegal aliens but that never made it to his desk. He never backed away from ‘self-deport’ when he was running as our candidate last time. Why? Then he comes out and condemns Trump? Trump speaks in a blunt, harsh manner that Romney doesn’t have to speak in. So what? You have to leap out and condemn him? What about condemning Jeb for calling illegal immigration an ‘act of love?’

But on Saturday on CNN in New Hampshire, Romney told a reporter he thinks Trump’s comments have hurt the GOP.
“Do you think Donald Trump’s comments on Mexicans have hurt the Republican Party?” a reporter asked.
“Yes, I think he made a severe error in saying what he did about Mexican-Americans,” Romney responded. “And it’s unfortunate.”

Coulter, however, says she appreciates Trump’s comments.
“Isn’t he [Trump] magnificent? One thing–I think he could mention my book,” Coulter said on the show on Monday morning.
But I really think he is magnificent. I’m almost stunned at how good he’s being especially considering the world he lives in. He’s a fancy Manhattanite–and I’m sure–who vacations in the Hamptons. All of his friends disagree with him. You very rarely see this in any place–in any group of people–and he really is just standing up for the American working class like I’ve never seen. The American working class really likes him, and always has, and I think his next move should be that he should point out that he’s the only one who cares about black jobs. I mean have you seen the black unemployment rate? How dare liberals accuse him of racism? They don’t even have an argument. He’s the one trying to defend American jobs and particularly with the black youth unemployment rate. How about letting Americans take those jobs instead of the foreign born poor?
She added that standing for the rule of law against illegal aliens–especially those committing violent crimes–is essential for Republicans to win elections. She referenced the 1988 presidential campaign election ad about murderer Willie Horton, who was part of a weekend release-from-prison program that Democratic candidate Michael Dukakis supported, an ad that helped push George H.W. Bush over the top.
“Law and order, crime control, has always been an across-the-board winning position for Republicans at any level of government. The greatest campaign ad in world history was the Willie Horton ad,” Coulter said.
“It was an awesome ad. It destroyed Michael Dukakis and then as a consequence so many Republicans were winning elections on the crime issue, the crime issue kind of went away. That’s the problem with Republicans being successful: They cut taxes and they lose cutting taxes as an issue,” Coulter added.
They cut crime like Giuliani did to shocking levels and that allows some lunatic like Bill de Blasio to get in. Yes, of course, Republicans should be jumping on this. Besides my general interest in crime, that’s why I wrote a lot about crime in this book. Especially the crimes liberals clearly seem to care about–that is rapes. They’ll talk endlessly about hoax rapes committed by marauding white men on the Duke Lacrosse team and at UVA but, boy, your “racism” now consists of presenting any unattractive facts about someone other than a white man. When it’s a white man, you can tell lies about them–and that’s okay because it starts a narrative.
