USDA Pushing ‘Free’ Food: Call ‘1-877-8-HAMBRE (for Spanish Speakers)’

Susan Jones, CNS News, July 14, 2014

The U.S. Agriculture Department has set a goal of serving 178 million free meals to children now that school is out. That’s 10 million more meals than were served last summer.

“Admittedly, this is an aggressive goal, and we can’t do it alone,” Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack said in a column posted on the USDA website. “With strong support from individuals, communities, local governments and advocates, we can reach more kids with nutritious meals during their time out of school.”

USDA is urging Americans to “help spread awareness of summer meals in your community” by using the National Hunger Hotline at 1-866-3-Hungry or 1-877-8-Hambre (the latter number for Spanish speakers, it notes).

The government offers free summer meals to anyone 18 and under at approved sites in areas with significant concentrations of low-income children. USDA notes that teenagers “face the same risks of food insecurity in the summer, so make sure your teens are taking advantage of free summer meals, too!”

Most summer meal sites are “open sites,” meaning they are open to the community and do not require advance sign-ups or even “check-in” at the site. “Children and teens must simply show up to get their meal,” USDA says, but the meal has to be eaten at the place where it is served.

Summer meals are available regardless of what other government assistance children may receive; and parents are not required to give any personal information about their children to the meal servers.

Last summer, according to USDA’s Economic Research Service, the Summer Food Service Program provided meals to more than 2.4 million children each day at 42,654 sites during the program’s peak month of July at a cost of $427.6 million in fiscal 2013.

Congress appropriated $398 million for the program in FY 2012.

The definition of a parasite is right here. This is stealing from others people’s labour against their objections.

    This is treason.

  • Ograf

These people have apparently gone completely out of their damn minds.

    • dd121

They’re not crazy. They know exactly what they’re doing and they’re doing it deliberately to achieve a certain outcome.

      • SentryattheGate

Yeah, it’s like the way man domesticated wild pigs. You leave food scraps away from the community to avoid pests, the pigs find the scraps and keep coming for the free food/no work involved. Eventually, people exploit this by moving the scraps closer, getting the pigs used to people, then used to the fences on 2 sides, then the open gate. Then the gate closes! And the pigs are captive and dependent and readied for the slaughter!

    • Adolf Verloc

It also relates to Parkinson’s Law. If your “business” is handing out “free” food, you will want to hand out more of it every year, regardless of economic conditions or the character of the beneficiaries. Larger budgets, more jobs, more opportunities to move up the administrative ladder.

  • Puggg

But what if they don’t speak Spanish? What if they’re like that story here last week or before, people from the jungles that speak those Mixed-up-tec kind of languages? “Press 38 for Mix-tec…”

And what’s with all this food insecurity talk when they tell us we’re so fat?

    • ElComadreja

They always want to have it both ways.

  • Luca

Just when you think the insanity can’t get any more insane.

  • MekongDelta69

This is the 2014 version of Government cheese… tacos.

  • mobilebay

Illegal aliens – the new chosen people!

  • Aren’t the greaserito kids fat enough yet? Furthermore, with 48 million people in the USA on food stamps as of 2013, these brats are surely getting enough to eat via that program.

  • JackKrak

Why don’t we just go ahead and start wiring thousands of dollars monthly into the accounts of everyone with a Hispanic surname?

I mean, after we hire an army of community outreach workers to show them how to set up a bank account.

And how to get the ID necessary to open the bank account.

And how to get to the ID office.

And how to then withdraw the money from the account.

    And…….

      Don’t give them any ideas….

I approve of the little Squat Monsters getting free food….IN MEXICO! I’ll personally send a Beaner Baby in Mexico a free taco every Tuesday. Laced with birth control.
Does the USDA have any of that ‘free food’ (bought by US taxpayers) heading into Appalachia, or is it all going to ‘diverse’ neighborhoods? Racist btards in the gub’ment!

  • The local beaners get free canned goods from the white-sponsored libtard, Christian food bank. I find lots of it in dumpsters around here where they discard it. These poor pathetic hungry Mexicans want Mickey Ds, not canned green beans and jars of taco sauce. I end up eating their discards.

But here’s an idea. Send some white kids into these modern soup kitchens with cameras and let them document the waste. I’ll bet a lot of the food is not eaten. And I’ll bet the lard butt Mexicans are fat and don’t need free meals. Post the pics here on amren and let them go viral.

    • dd121

No liberal outlet, which means almost all, would never let you show the film.

    • I did the same, dumpster-diving at around Thanksgiving and Christmas, for the first few years I was home from prison. I deliberately picked lousy-looking apartment complexes. Those greaseritos don’t want anything that actually requires work to prepare. I even got a box of instant mashed potatoes. I stirred the potato powder together with egg and milk and made potato pancakes, which I then had with the instant gravy that came in the box.

    • Greg Thomas

I have yet to see a starving mexican.

  • IstvanIN

The blacks are just as ungrateful. I quickly gave up on the food bank thing when a black woman who keeds were starving became irate over canned ravioli and spaghetti. She was fussed that she wanted fresh meat and stormed out. Guess her keeds weren’t that hongree.

    • Martel733

There are food banks that help white communities. Seeing a long line of white women on a day off, and asking what the line was for had me stop donating to organized charity.

      • ElComadreja

How many of them had black babies?

    • ElComadreja

Their mentalities are similar. I’d love to go back to the days of the government surplus store for these parasites.

  • IstvanIN

And what about homeless White people over 18, don’t they deserve a meal?

    • ElComadreja

      No. They have “white privilege”.

  • MadmanMarz

    Free Beans.

    • ElComadreja

Looks like half of my city.

  • Einsatzgrenadier

Instead of calling it the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services, they should now call it the United States Welfare and Job Finding Program for the Third World, which is exactly what it is.

  • kenfrombayside

It’s the black/Latino occupation regime in Washington policy to make black and Latino kids strong so they brutalize us more. Stop this madness now.

    • As fat as they’re getting, they sure won’t be able to catch anyone who runs away!

    • SentryattheGate

It goes right along with the anti-racist education, where they will be told K-12 that whites are to blame for minorities’ problems!

  • willbest

I actually approve of this idea. Get them comfortable coming out for free food. Have them ingest a micro transmitter, track them back to their homes and send around the ICE vans.

    • He’s a variant on the same theme: Get them comfortable coming out for free food. Get them absolutely dependent on that free food. Then cut off the free food, making these parasites go cold-turkey.

  • TruthBeTold

I have to assume only legal Spanish speaking people are eligible since I’ve been told repeatedly that illegals are not eligible for government benefits and programs.

    • They are for food stamps. The feds even advertise the program in Mexico.

      • Paleoconn

The feds advertise food stamps in Mexico too.

  • Paleoconn

Mexico and USSA are two of the most obese countries in the world. Why is the government providing food with taxpayers’ hard-earned money? Regime change is needed in Amurrica more than it ever was in Iraq or Egypt or Libya.

    • evilsandmich

Perhaps it’s an overwrought conspiracy to (very) slowly kill off browns and blacks via diabetes.

  • IKUredux

I don’t know about the rest of you on this site, but, I pay for my own food. I have made a study (not scientific, anecdotal) of the last fifty times I was in the grocery line. I only made note of how the person directly in front of me, paid for their food. I only just concluded this ad hoc survey. I can tell you one thing: EVERY Black in front of me in line, paid with an EBT card.

    • Ngati Pakeha

An EBT card refilled on the taxpayers sweat and toil. They really would be screwed without the “taxpayer” wouldn’t they. In the fullness of time future historians will wonder how one group financed its own demise. Time is of the essence.
