University Pulls Out of ‘White Privilege Conference’

Charlotte Allen, Weekly Standard, June 19, 2014

The University of Colorado’s Colorado Springs campus has decided it won’t be involved in the White Privilege Conference anymore. Since 2007 the campus’s Matrix Center for Social Equity and Inclusion, directed by UCCS sociology professor Abby Ferber, had lent the controversial conference some academic sheen, including the fact that UCCS students could get academic credits for attending the conference as part of a UCCS course. Although the annual conference is headed by its 1999 founder, Eddie Moore Jr., diversity counselor at the Brooklyn Friends School, the Matrix Center had been its official home and Ferber one of its key organizers.

According to UCCS spokesman Tom Hutton, the university began pulling out of the conference in the spring of 2013. “The relationship with the conference ended as a result of confusion about its name and the negative attention generated by it. University leadership, in concert with the conference organizers, determined the distraction caused by the conference was not beneficial to our student body,” Hutton told me in an email.

I like to think that my cover story for the May 27, 2013, issue of The Weekly Standard, “Beyond the Pale,” was a key part of the “negative attention” that the White Privilege Conference had received. I had attended that year’s White Privilege Conference near Seattle, and it had struck me as a three-day festival of white self-loathing coupled with finger-pointing at white people for their supposedly “unearned” wealth and social status afforded them simply by reason of their skin color. The same went for males, heterosexuals and Christians—which necessitated the four solid days of white-bashing, male-bashing, heterosexual-bashing, and Christian-bashing that made up the conference agenda. The bashing was supposed to be good, not just for guilty whites but for members of minority groups whose private paranoias about the way they thought white people secretly felt about them found expression in the conference’s offerings. Workshops bore such titles as “Talking Back to White Entitlement,” “Follow the White Supremacist Money,” and “Engaging White People in the Fight for Racial & Economic Justice”). {snip}

Still it would be grandiose to claim sole credit for UCCS’s White Privilege pullout. Hutton told me that the university had “utilized many inputs” in making its decision.

Some of the inputs, according to a source, were trustees of the University of Colorado who weren’t happy about the therapeutic paleskin-beating that seemed to be the conferences’ main agenda. More input came from Colorado Republican State Sen. Kent Lambert, who spent some time with UCCS’s chancellor, Pam Shockley-Zalabak, discussing the campus’s severing of its White Privilege relationship.

A sign of things to come? Maybe not, but at least good start on the road back to sanity.

The rats have scattered. How and where will they re-group?

When I think of them, I have this image of vampires pulling their cape over their faces when the sunlight shines through the window.

They must be fuming that their activity has gained attention and that people are on to them.

Wherever they scurry, keep shining the light.

      • SSkreelings

You ask, “The rats have scattered. How and why will they re-group?”
Good question. Perhaps I have an answer.
Rat poison and a couple of really nasty cats worked for me.
Might work for the ‘rats’ you refer to also.

      • ThomasER916

Rats have homes. Find their homes and burn them to the ground. That’s how you deal with a nest of rats.

    • Berkeley Guy

It’s about time. But on the whole, I am glad that the White Privilege conferences were started in the first place. I am glad because it exposes the ridiculous and spectacular double-standard concerning “honest conversations about race.” Another Amren article published on the same day as this one mentions how someone was banned from radio airwaves because that person used racial slurs–even though he was discussing how such slurs were used in negative ways. I reiterate that nearly all of us who visit this website understand that it is OK to attempt to indoctrinate White children with self-loathing or to call them “cracker,” “white-bread,” or “honkey” in public while White people who say things in the privacy of their own home are disparaged with international headlines for weeks on end.

    • I am of the opinion there will never be an end to the brethren needing talks and conferences to try to iron out equality because there can never be equality, as long as the black man is a victim of almost everything they will stand around and bleat about how all their woes are the fault of some white guy somewhere.

  • Martel

I’m not to fond of conferences or speakers being cancelled, I like the insanity of our opponents to be on full display.

    • Zaporizhian Sich

Like whites organizing a conference on how to ensure a future for themselves wouldn’t be a target for violence? You know that if we try to organize that is exactly what our enemies will do. Sooner than later, these anti-white conferences should feel the heat, in more ways than one.

      • Martel

That serves no purpose when you are in a disadvantageous position. Most Americans need to be aware of the fact that they have an enemy, by forcing our opponents to cancel their conferences you place them in an underdog position and Americans will not consider them a serious threat.

        • You might be right, and I understand your point. I tend to think that the Left will only become more emboldened when we do nothing. I see this as a small victory for our cause.

Most whites Americans are asleep at the wheel anyways, and I don’t think they have the racial sophistication to view the ‘white privilege’ folks as the poor ‘underdogs’ simply because one university – or even two or three of them – chose to cancel their conference due to whites standing up for themselves.

Moreover, these ‘white privilege’ knuckleheads have a plethora of other ways to promote their evil propaganda. All we’ve done in this one instance is prevent it from occurring at one university and through one venue alone.

          • 1stworlder

The left will fight on anyway using our own taxes to pay for the fight.

          • Martel

I see this as an indicator that Colorado Europeans have become more willing to defend their ethnic interests, this is a good thing. Its not a strategic victory though, as I said, I prefer the most radical elements of the opposition to be visible to all.

      • “Like whites organizing a conference on how to ensure a future for themselves wouldn’t be a target for violence.”
        –Zaporizhian Sich

I seem to remember a story like that from somewhere, but I don’t think it was by H.P. Lovecraft.

      • Berkeley Guy

But we are organizing. Amren just had a conference a few months ago, and certainly discussed the future of our culture and heritage, and most of the protestors made nary a dent at all. I think it was Mr. Taylor who referred to them as “scruffy-looking.” I would call it sloppy and disorganized resistance to Amren conferences. While there are some people who wish to do violence to Mr. Taylor (or even you or I for visiting this website), on the whole I am optimistic that our organizing will be more effective, popular, and better understood in the future.

        • Who is the “we” in this story?

          • Berkeley Guy

Whites, Eurodiasporeans, Europeans, whatever you want to call us. I hope you realized that any seemingly negative post of mine is satire, stirring the pot.

          • You go first then, Kimosabe.

The fields of fire will only overlap for about 30 meters. We can put their heads down, but you’d want me to do that while you just watch.

          • Berkeley Guy

I have already crossed and you missed it. I went through the violence before I was in my teens, and after, while many here were enjoying their majority European hometowns. No one covered me and I came through.

        • Usually Much Calmer

No organizing happens at those events, by design.

          • Berkeley Guy

            Care to elaborate?

          • Usually Much Calmer

Mr. Taylor can speak for himself better than I can speak for him so I direct you to an American Thinker piece from April, linked from the AmRen site on 4/24.

But the gist is American Renaissance is a forum for discussion of scholarship and public affairs, full stop.

The conferences are open to the public and attract a motley crowd, not all of which attends in good faith.

But don’t take my word for it, attend one!

    • I am all in favor of it as well, but I prefer them to have to conduct their nonsense without holding these affairs at public universities, where our tax money is inevitably involved.

    • LHathaway

If you want to see insanity displayed, attend a local kindergarten. Heck, I was at the public library reading a popular children’s book. The whole thing was, ‘it doesn’t matter who you biological parents are’, ‘your parents are the ones who have raised you’, ‘we should all be more respectful to gays’. I dont’ see how children the age this book was written for would even know what gay is. The book was written by a conservative, by the way.

I wonder, if fathers were awarded custody of children in 90% of divorce cases, if the idea ‘who your biological parents are is of no consequence) I wonder how well it would go over?

    • Pro_Whitey

The story does not indicate that the conference will be canceled, just that UCCS will not be participating. However, perhaps that will be the blow that causes it to be canceled. I imagine they have other funding sources. I agree that they should continue, as long as enough whites get to hear what they are saying.

  • The squeakiest wheel gets the grease first. Someone of our mentality took it upon him or herself to do a lot of squeaking.

    • Oil Can Harry

My gut feeling is that State Sen. Kent Lambert threatened to cut their funding and/or their alumni told them they were cutting back on donations in protest.

      Either way, well done.

      • 1stworlder

Could you imagine any white person donating to the school after seeing that video?

        • Oil Can Harry

Sure. Chris Matthews, Joan Walsh, Tim Wise, $PLC leader Morris Sleaze, Rachel Madcow, etc.

          • 1stworlder

I thought they where only for spending other people’s money.

        • RisingReich

I went absolutely Pluto style nuts when I read the original article.

Sent an email to the chancellor saying they can expect $0 from me and to remove me from any mailing list asking alumni for $.

I never got a response, but chances are I wasn’t the only one to write such a message.

  • Zaporizhian Sich

They might be fearful that this conference might be the target of angry whites, who know they are anything but privileged in today’s venomously anti-white America. Any whites who enable these “conferences” are no better than poisonous snakes.

    • Berkeley Guy

Agreed. But it is nice that such conferences at least got a running start, without which many people who will wake up to the ridiculous double-standards would otherwise have remained a sleepy-head. Now at least these conferences will get more Whites talking about their culture and heritage in defensive, and yet positive, ways.

  • MekongDelta69

    I read this sentence as:
“Since 2007 the campus’s Marxist Center for Social Equity and Inclusion.”

    I must have psychological dyslexia…

“Take two AmRen‘s and call me in the morning. You should be fine by then.”

“Since 2007 the campus’s Marxist Center for Social Equity and Inclusion.”

Me too. I had to read it twice to see the right word, Matrix. Maybe that is intentional?

      • TruthBeTold

Matrix is correct. Read my other comment.

    • TruthBeTold

I had to go back and make sure it said Matrix because of comments I posted.

  • Truthseeker

Sometimes I wonder if perhaps I’m a little too hard on the left. Sometimes I wonder if perhaps non-Whites are more fair-minded to us than I tend to think. Sometimes I wonder if they have genuine good intentions that might be only slightly misguided.

Then I read about things like this “White Privilege Conference” and what actually goes on there, and I realize that these people are seriously dangerous. There are just too many people out there who would destroy our people and our heritage if they could, without a shred of remorse. When you see what this type of thinking is really about, you realize you’re in a fight for survival, and that these radicals are a threat to civilization itself.

    • 1stworlder

Ever since I heard blacks talking about the US military flying cocaine into the inner city, and protesting a guy shot at 2am leaving a strip club was shot on his way to church I never wonder how savage they are.

      • PvtCharlieSlate

Probably was on his way to the church to rob the poor box so he could get back to the strip club before it closed at 4:00 am.

        • 1stworlder

I thought they closed at the same time as bars, never saw the point in paying for something you probably couldn’t get at least without paying more than anyone else in the club.

  • Rhialto

This is a great example of the Internet’s power to widely publicize the actions of enemies. In 1990, few non-Liberals would have known of this Hate Whitey assemblage. Because of the Internet, many “undesirables” knew about it, and made their objections known to the Liberals’ dismay.

  • Jesse James

Good for UCCS for pulling out, we need them to start being as aware and sensitive of white backlash as they have been for decades for blacks and other minorities.

  • ncpride

We just returned from a two day orientation at the college our daughter will attend in the Fall. One of the assistant Deans got up to discuss various topics, and of course, diversity just HAD to be included. He went on to bemoan the fact that this particular college was nearly 90% White, so they really needed to work on that. This, of course, made me furious. How I wanted to stand and tell him that I found his remarks deeply insulting, offensive, and how dare he say such a thing to an auditorium packed full of WHITE parents.

I wanted to ask him if it ever occurred to him that it’s the LACK of diversity that many of us agree to foot the bill to this particular university? That we don’t want our kids attending school with thugs, or a dumbed down curriculum, and we want them to be SAFE, and majority White = safe. Of course, he may know these things secretly, but I’m not holding my breath.

    • Send the dean a letter of outrage and cc the university president and one each to the members of the Board of Regents. Then sit back and watch the fun.

    • So CAL Snowman

I’m sure the Dean doesn’t have a problem with the basketball team being nearly 90% black.

    • SheilaTX

Then why are you sending your child and your money to an institution that is hostile to all your beliefs? Why are you ensuring your daughter will be immersed in that environment for four years, to come out opposed to all you taught her? Why not stand up and SAY something about it? Most colleges in the US are POISON for White students. Stop wasting your time and money – get her married to a White man instead of plugging her into the system to begin paying for Keisha’s kids.

      • ncpride

I appreciate where you’re coming from, and I’ve had my reservations for years about sending her off to college knowing what they have become. However, it’s not fair to our kids and it’s no good to our people to have generations of uneducated youth. I’ve taught her well enough to see through the nonsense, and she knows she may very well hear anti-White propaganda. That’s why we were very selective about where we would allow her to go, and this school gets a nod from us despite the assistant Dean’s comments. There are no pro-White anything in this country anymore, so we do the best we can. My daughter loves to learn, and I won’t deny her that opportunity because some of our people are down right racially suicidal.

        • ViktorNN

It sounds like you’re thinking all this through and making the best choice.

You already know this, but I say it for the benefit of others who might be reading – most colleges and universities are in the grips of the politically correct left and even a natural sciences student is going to get exposed to virulent anti-white indoctrination while fulfilling humanities requirements.

This means it’s really up to YOU – the parent – to push back against the self-hate that they will most likely be taught. You can’t count on anyone else but yourself to teach your kids the truth and to be able to cope with the hail storm of lies that they’re about to be exposed to. Today’s schools make no attempt to be even handed, there are no conservative or moderate professors presenting opposing viewpoints – the left has got academia on lockdown. You’re really sending your kids into the lion den. Be there for them by being ready to de-program them when they come home spouting the latest anti-white trash.

          • ncpride

It’s terrible we find ourselves in this position and we must deal with it as best we can, however, we have to think about where our future White doctors, nurses, lawyers and any other number of vital professionals will come from with no college education. I would love to have a ‘White Strike’ and withhold our kids and money from these liberal colleges, but it’s virtually impossible considering what’s at stake.

          • Jesse James

I understand your desire for a white strike of education but it presents the same dilemma that a white strike of the military presents. If we don’t continue to go and make our presence known they will just replace us with the hordes of non-white foreigners they are encouraging to flood into the US. We would be doing exactly what they want us to do – fade away to nothing. Instead we have to continue to wrestle them for control of the countries institutions. You cant’ win the game if you don’t play, as distasteful as it is we just can’t afford not to participate.

    • bilderbuster

      Then why didn’t you?
This is why the anti Whites get away with so much of this garbage.
I’m sure many of the parents felt as you do but also chose to remain silent.
The parents who remain silent are setting a bad example of the “go along to get along syndrome” for their children who now certainly know not to speak up because their own parents didn’t speak up either when they had the opportunity and it’s their parents who are paying for this.
That allows and emboldens creeps like the assistant dean to comfortably stand before everyone and spout this hateful nonsense without any fear of being called out and publicly shamed for being the over educated idiot that he is.
I have read enough of your posts to know that you could have more than held your ground against a fool like that and it would have been easy work for you as those people have nothing but dim witted slogans and absolutely no truth or logic to aid their assinine positions.

      • ncpride

Everything you say is true and I appreciate your confidence in my ability to knock this particular Dean off his anti-White pedestal, and if it was just me involved, I would not have hesitated. However, I’m not the one who has to stick around and deal with the consequences of my actions: My daughter is. That’s a heavy load to place on such a young girl right at the beginning, but when she is ready to speak out against any White bashing she may hear in class, I’ll back her up 100%. I still haven’t ruled out a little email to the Dean to let him know he might want to reconsider his words in future orientations. Something needs to be said, and everyone is right about that.

  • TruthBeTold

Matrix Center for Social Equity and Inclusion

Matrix. Like the movie. A glossy illusion hiding a dark reality.

    • RisingReich

That movie has Jewish connotations all over it. Zion, “the one”, “the oracle” etc.

      • TruthBeTold

Ya know, I talked to a young guy I used to work with who loved those movies and he was giving me his take on them and those from his message board.

I then told him they were anti-white propaganda.

Neo, (new man) is a half-breed. The evil men are clones of a white man. It’s a coalition of non-whites working to take down the evil white clone. And much more (it’s been a while since I’ve seen them and I don’t have much interest in them).

Anyway, he was literally stunned by my take; his jaw hung open. Clearly no one on his message board ever saw that interpretation.

He never discussed the movies with me again.

I never knew if he was shocked that I would make such a claim or if he realized I was right and he found it too disturbing to think about.

If it was the former, I suspect he would have seen me as an evil racist and never spoken to me again. But we remained friends at work. But he also never discussed the anti-white message of those films.

        • SoulInvictus

I looked at it the other way.
Neo was bleach white (not sure where you get the half breed thing) as was his lover.
Aside from the expected hollywood theme of wise black sages (Morphius, the Oracle), almost their whole multi-cult Zion society worships/follows their white messiah who has mastered combat, technology, and spirituality in ways they are unable to.
All of the real power-brokers of the story are white (Neo, Merovingian, Smith, Architect) and minorities all play only supporting roles (Key Maker, the asian angel guy, Zion military/ship crews).

The machines, the highest intelligence in the story, are almost universally represented as white, I’d imagine to juxtapose them against the colorful but stupid subterranean humans.

          • TruthBeTold

Thank you for reminding me of all the characters and plot elements.

I think you’re missing my point.

Reeves was picked because he’s mixed race. They couldn’t use a white actor because they needed a New Man of mixed race. This is a very important element. The hero couldn’t be a white man.

Your right that all the people in power are white. They are both good and bad. The distinction here is that the bad white people are pure evil intent on destroying humanity while the good white people (race traitors) join in a non-white coalition to take down the evil white man.

Zion is more than you see it as.

It’s the center of resistance, the center of control, the center of the good people to take down the evil white man.

Why do you think the name Zion was used for the city? What does my description suggest to you?

To me it seems more of a commentary about the elites subjugating and brainwashing the masses.

Yes, but who are the elites intent on brainwashing and subjugating the masses?

It looks to me someone should opt for the red pill to see deeper into the truth.

          • SoulInvictus

“Yes, but who are the elites intent on brainwashing and subjugating the masses?”

Because if Smith had been named Rothschild and all of the villains were international bankers and Communists, the movie would never have gotten made?;)

But I understand the points you made, and they’re not without reason. Even viewing it that way, the machines are arguably better represented. By the end of the trilogy, the machines and humans are both rescued by the (mostly) white savior. And presumably most of the humans opt for the techno-slavery inside the system willingly. So if they are representative of our brown hordes, then I’m not sure what that message is meant to say about them.;)

      • Zaporizhian Sich

I noticed that, but it’s still a good movie and relevant to us given that more and more of us are waking up to the fact we are living in a dream world, which is really a waking nightmare.

  • TruthBeTold

“The relationship with the conference ended as a result of confusion about its name and the negative attention generated by it.”

Translation: ‘What we were doing in secret is now known publicly so we’re going to disavow anything to do with the group. If it had remained secret, we would have continued our association with full support of the objective’.

    • Usually Much Calmer

They don’t see it like that.

They were doing the ‘thing to do’ until it ceased being ‘the thing to do’.

      Bang on.

  • Einsatzgrenadier

There is no white privilege. If anything, blacks are far more privileged in terms of preferential hiring policies and other free handouts from whites. Maybe we should be having a black privilege conference.

    • Katherine McChesney

I use the term ‘black privilege’ on articles it fits. Generally I’ve gotten a good response when I use it.

      • bilderbuster

I do the same myself in public as often as possible.
Example: When someone is describing their horrible treatment by a Black with a government job or a surly Black employee at a large business I respond ” They certainly didn’t get that job because of their competence or personality. They got that job because of their Black Privilege”.
Whites have the biggest “Race Card” of them all and it’s called the truth and it’s time more start playing it.

    • 1stworlder

Actually there is, we just call it evolution & IQ

    • indoctrination_FAIL

When I see or hear of white “privilege”, I think white birthright. I recommend this to all.

    • ViktorNN

That’s a brilliant idea. Sign me up.

  • They cancelled it because of bad publicity. I would be more impressed if they’d have cancelled it as soon as they realized it advocates genocide.

    • bilderbuster

That’s the entire reason it was founded and funded in the first place.
No one could possibly believe this was started to advance mankind and goodwill.

  • The higher ups in the legislature threatened very subtly to cut some budgets and to remove someone from a highly paid, cushy job. That’s how higher ed works. The article changed no administrator minds. Money did. The article did the job indirectly by alerting the legislature. I’ve seen this myself at my former university, but work in the opposite way: “You must give more degrees to Mexicans by any means necessary.”

    • I hope CU’s state funding is cut next year by the amount they would have spent on the conference, anyway, just so they remember.

      • bilderbuster

I’d cut it way more than that just to make sure they don’t forget.

    • When we say give we literally mean give degrees to our black population, because hardly any of them actually made the grade to get into university in the first place so to get graduates in South Africa we mark on the curve, now I dare you to see a black doctor in Africa.

It’s a ruling class sanctioned hate conference with speeches and seminars devoted to socially acceptable anti-white hate speech.

It sounds like people are perhaps waking up to the truth of it.

The hate concept “white privilege” has got to go.

  • RisingReich

I know the university of Colorado very well. Always begging for donations.

I told them to piss of and told them this kind of crap was #1 reason.

  • MBlanc46

A university that is actually stepping back from the incessant attack on whites? I’d have thought that this was the sort of thing that would make them double down.

  • “Follow the White Supremacist Money”. I don’t know where that goes, but I’ll bet it doesn’t go offshore to Grand Cayman the way Morris Dees’s $PLC money does.

    • “Follow the white supremacist money”

As if the other side is hurting for money.

Can anyone name me the white racialist billionaire?

      • Follow the Yellow Brick Road?

There is no “White Supremacist Money”.

        • Zaporizhian Sich

There’s other supremacist’s money out there in abundance. However, if you are in the media or politics and you name whose money that belongs to, you will be out of a job.

          • I am already out of a job, dear Slavic friend. It feels good.

          • Zaporizhian Sich

You have a job, and that is being the best father and husband you can be for your wife and daughter. It’ll exist long after the current one I have as an electrician is over.

          • I did say “I do”, didn’t I? I’m happy about that.

        • SoulInvictus

Given the nature of international business and finance, anyone sane with those opinions would keep it to themselves.
The South got gutted largely for taking that stand.
Germany had armies to back it up, yet had to deal with worldwide boycotts, then total destruction.
South Africa tried merely to maintain what had been acceptable only a few years prior, and despite sitting on top of the richest mines in the world, we know what happened to them.
Anyone of multi-million/billionaire status knows better than to stick their neck out into an unnecessary noose like that.

What would they have to gain by subjecting themselves to the Sterling treatment or worse? Their boards forcing them to sell shares as part of some morality clause, loss of government contracts, funds drying up from investment banks, lose lose lose. As is frequently commented on here, it’s not like even the majority of whites would rally to them.
They’d go down in flames as David Dukes. Followed by some circles, but eviscerated by Hollywood, news media, investment banks, governments, the general public, etc etc etc.
As a public figure or businessman, I wouldn’t jump into that flame with nothing to gain either…

  • HJ11

Good news. Send the self-hating weak seed White on the outside Black on the inside pukes running.

Each aware White (most of here, I imagine) must put pressure on any creeps or institutions that discriminate against Whites or in any way attack us.

  • disqus_irCdmAu8It

White Privilege is the result of hard work, sobriety, dedication and commitment. Anything less leads to a reduced life style. Lazy, shiftless and work-shy can fall back on SNAP, welfare payments and hatred for whites.

    • Bud if you could only come over to my country and tell it like it is, here we apologize for being white.(SA) Our entire country is run by blacks who spend the countries once rich resources on grants and handouts for everything including breeding. (No joke)

    • Berkeley Guy

Sobriety, people, sobriety. Consuming alcohol is one the most widespread and silly activities that my fellow Whites engage in. I know that most will never agree with me, but I have to try and turn at least a few of you into teetotalers.

      • Usually Much Calmer

Less hectoring and you may succeed!

I was raised to respect cocktail hour as a civilizing ritual.

        • Berkeley Guy

I understand. But the tiny subset of cocktail hours out of the full range of behaviors and tragedies due to imbibing is insignificant. Operating machinery and heavy equipment while under the influence directly uncivilizes.

      • bilderbuster

There is no White Privilege Period!
Tens of millions of Whites work hard, are sober, dedicated and committed and still barely keep their heads above water!
Compare their morality, virtues and lifestyles to the well paid White Privilege instructors who’s claim to fame and only skill is to deceive small children into believing hateful fairy tales about themselves.

  • Well I live in a country (the only one in the world) where the minority is discriminated against, we the white South Africans are denied employment through a system called BBBEE (broad based black economic empowerment), this is no joke we are 10% of the population but jobs still need to be earmarked for our brethren who after 20 years have not developed the skills required to compete for jobs on an equal footing. In fact the level of education in this country has dropped to among the lowest in the world, including developing nations. Never will our brethren of African persuasion be able to rise above the station they now hold because the chip on their collective shoulders is way to heavy so they are now the worlds first people who have made being victims a career choice and one taken by the majority.

  • Dear Moderator, the spammer here calls herself Barbara Jeremy. I can not get far into the text, but I do fairly well in the last few minutes. What comes in the lines below looks like ascii for a picture to me.

  • archer

Zalabak, sounds like a descendant of one of those brave pioneers who made the perilous journey west in a covered wagon to open up the frontier for other Americans.

  • redpill99

    are there conservative sociology professors?

    • Usually Much Calmer

Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi’s work is often cited or referenced in scholarly conservative works. I have not read him, but have several of his books.

      • TonyWestfield

UMC, the formidable Mihaly C. isn’t political, per se, but you are right; he is cited in conservative works because he espouses ideas such as the following (from an article published in the journal American Psychologist, January 2000), as he addresses the challenge of preventing the worst kinds of deviance, e.g., school shootings:

“Prevention researchers have discovered that there are human strengths that act as buffers against mental illness: courage, future mindedness, optimism, interpersonal skill, faith, work ethic, hope, honesty, perseverance, and the capacity for flow and insight, to name several. Much of the task of prevention in this new century will be to create a science of human strength whose mission will be to understand and learn how to foster these virtues in young people.”

Just try to imagine such a statement coming from a slimy “Progressive” like Hillary or Obama or Eric Holder. They espouse “cures” such as drugging people into submission or taking every firearm out of private hands.

        • Usually Much Calmer

Csikszentmihalyi’s work in the psych/management psych field is better known but he did write “Television and the Quality of Life” in 1990 (the same year as “Flow”). That book is sociology.

You are right, TonyWestfield, C’yi is not overtly political.

I can think of no other living scholar with an appointment in a Soc. Department or who publishes in Soc. journals in the US that is even remotely conservative in their work or public life. Maybe someone else can?

    • Usually Much Calmer

      At long last, yes!

Robert Jackall is an honest to god sociologist at Williams College. I have read his books Moral Mazes, a management study, and Wild Cowboys, an ethnography of policing. They were both common on syllabi in the ivory tower a decade ago and may still be.

He apparently spoke at the recent Mencken Club conference.

      So, there’s one.

  • fgbrunner3

We need a conference on black criminal behavior.

    • SSkreelings

We have that already. It’s call the daily newspapers, to the extent that they report it at all. When they describe the armed robber, rapist, murderer, etc. as a ‘male’, you know exactly what adjective they have left out.

  • bilderbuster

It makes more sense than MLK’s “I have a Dream” speech with his rambling, nursery rhymes about lions and lambs frollicing around together.

  • RHG

Hopefully they figured out that this whole “white privilege” charade was cooked up by “black studies” people to cover up for their own racism, bigotry and sexism and to justify racial preferences for themselves.

    • According to the guy from Berkeley, I have white privilege because I have white privilege because I have white privilege. It is apparently a retroactive recursive curse.

      Or is it?

Berkeley Guy has clearly never tried to find a job as an ex-felon on the Terrorist Watch List. Surely I could have cashed in some privilege miles for a job: one that would pay a lot and which would require that I only dress up nice and look important.

That job is already taken at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave, but you know what I mean.

  • WR_the_realist

Score one small victory for the good guys.

  • brior

Workshops bore such titles as “Talking Back to black Entitlement,”
“Follow the black Supremacist Money,” and “Engaging brown People in the
Fight for Racial & Economic Justice”). Much better.

  • Truth Teller

Brooklyn Friends School? That means Quakers who since their inception have always hated and worked against whatever country in which they found themselves. They are like another religion whose name must not be spoken: critical and subversive of the society that enables them to flourish. Of all the protestants that came out of the reformation, they are the most arrogant, radical, holier than thou and consider themselves the most superior to everyone else.
From the abolitionist movement, to the civil war, to the horrors of reconstruction, to communist and socialist agitation, to the civill rights for all but Whites movement to White privilege, jews and quakers have always been anti America and anti White American. I guess that quakers, like jews don’t consider themselves really White but some sort of blue-eyed suprerior sub species

Communist Angela Davis who bought the guns that murdered 11 people in the Marin county courthouse shoot out was raised by Northern quaker commies from the age of 13
and inducted into the CPUSA by that quaker family. Her parents were heavily involved in the Scottsboro rapists defense and agit prop. By the way, the Scottsboro rapist defense committee was a standard fund raiser for the CPUSA. Find some non WASP criminals like Sacco Vanzetti, found a defense fund and keep 95 percent of the money collected from brainless, feckless, heedless, useless liberals to fund the party for another 5 years.

    • SSkreelings

A lot of black community leaders and educators also attended summer indoctrination camps in Upstate New York run by the New York State Communist Party until into the late 1980’s, when funds from the Soviet Union dried up as that nation collapsed. Interestingly, it was mostly black urban females who, as teenagers, were recognized as valuable raw material by the Party cells, and given full scholarships to attend those camps. The young male blacks may have already been considered too ineducable at that point to be indoctrinated as anything but street muscle for what was to come.
Two female black school principals, and one black female schools superintendent in New York City and Georgia, respectively were not to long ago removed from their posts because of strong ant-white programs that they were encouraging among their students. All three women had attended these Communist summer camps in Upstate New York as teenagers. Hardly a coincidence.
The black wife of New York City’s current Marxist mayor comes out of one of those Communist-run camps. What you won’t read about in the news media.
      Pass it on.

  • SSkreelings

Even after twelve beers, at closing time I’d rather go home by myself.

  • benvad

    Finally some backbone.

  • ThomasER916

It’s not enough to back them down. It’s only enough to wipe them out.

  • benvad

What do these Marxist jews have against whites so much? If it wasn’t for Americans saving her people, wouldn’t Hitler have exterminated these people?

Really now, you come to America and your allowed the opportunities to build a good prosperous life in freedom & security, but you won’t allow is to live our lives. I just don’t get it.

    • benvad

They worked hard and sacrificed a lot, don’t get me wrong. But to bite the hand that created the freest country in the world is just simply, WRONG.

  • She is clearly projecting her own self-loathing onto other whites.
