Texas authorities toughened their security to thwart illegal immigration along the Mexican border, an operation they call a “surge.”

“Texas can’t afford to wait for Washington to act on this crisis, and we will not sit idly by while the safety and security of our citizens are threatened,” Gov. Rick Perry said in a statement.

The announcement was made in a statement by Perry, Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst and state House Speaker Joe Straus. The state Department of Public Safety has been authorized to fund operations at about $1.3 million a week.

“Until the federal government recognizes the danger it’s putting our citizens in by its inaction to secure the border, Texas law enforcement must do everything they can to keep our citizens and communities safe,” Perry said.

The so-called surge will continue at least through the end of the calendar year to combat a “flood” of illegal immigrants, the statement said.

“The federal government has abdicated its responsibility to secure the border and protect this country from the consequences of illegal immigration, but as Texans we know how to lead in areas where Washington has failed,” Dewhurst said.

  • From what I understand, it’s underpowered. But at least it’s something.

In related news, “kids” in a Dreamer hovel in Arizona are using tin foil for blankets. I’ve heard of tin foil hats, and I’ve even owned and worn a few in my life, but I never thought anyone would use them for blankets.

    • tell them to turn off the a/c if they need blankets in Arizona.

  • Truth Teller

The tin foil blankets are those survival things. They are sold in camping and hunting stores. They are very lightweight, fold up small and good to keep in the car if you live in areas with blizzards and heavy storms. DHS probably got them form an army warehouse.

    • 1stworlder

      survival blankets are usually mylar.

    • Who Me?

Forest fire fighters call them “Shake-n-Bakes” Shake em out to open them, crawl inside and get baked…

Good for Texas, the Federal government increasingly willfully fails to execute its most basic functions – guard the border and enforce the law of the land – while having plenty of money, time and motivation to constantly dream up new outrageous and illegal schemes to destroy our national sovereignty and attack the wealth and well being of the majority white founding population.

    • Einsatzgrenadier

      Enoch Powell once said:

“The supreme function of statesmanship is to provide against preventable evils.”

The fact that our rulers cannot even “provide against preventable evils” reveals just how worthless they are. They are traitors who pander to the greed and selfishness of the colonizing nonwhite foreigners. These tyrants make Benedict Arnold look like an amateur, a boy scout. Let them all hang from the noose, every last one of them.

In his speeches, Lincoln repeatedly emphasized that he was fighting the Civil War to preserve the Union. He attempted to justify this constitutionally by citing the fact that when he took the inaugural oath, he had sworn to uphold the laws of the land.

Now some of you here, I know, are not Lincoln fans. But put that aside for the moment. Reflect on what he is saying. He did not willingly wish to fight the South out of any animosity but felt duty bound to because he had taken a “solemn oath” as he called it, to uphold the Laws of the Nation and those required that he protect Federal property (the state armories and Fort Sumter) that had been seized by the rebellious factions.

Again, it doesn’t matter whether you or I agree or disagree with what the South did and/or her ambitions. What matters is that Lincoln understood that he had given his word of honor to protect the Union.

Now, Barack Obama also took the same oath to uphold the Nation’s Laws. But with his policy of not guarding our nation’s borders he has not only turned a blind eye to but flagrantly, deliberately flaunted these laws. These are clearly treasonable offenses.

At the very least, he has through his contempt of constitutional law demonstrated that he is not a man of principle as Lincoln was. He is a contemptible, opportunistic shirker.

      • SoulInvictus

        Sorry, but no.
Lincoln violated huge portions of Constitutional law in violation of his oath. The South (slavery completely aside as part of the discussion) was exercising its rights and freedoms exactly as the founders intended.
The Union of States wasn’t intended to be a chain to DC.

It’s a start. Texas spends about 3.8 billion on illegal’s education and another 650 million on their healthcare. How can the government force citizens to subsidize our own displacement? Can it get any worse? In 100 major US cities, whites rank under 50% in ethnic population.

  • RisingReich

This is exactly how America breaks up. The Fedgov has become a useless, burdensome, evil, traitorous regime that is of absolutely no use to Texas and the State gov is going to take an action to defend its own Nation from invasion.

Right around the corner from there is asking why they are paying fed taxes…then they might also be defending the Northern border.

In other news one wonders why Amren didn’t run the story about DHS taking bids to spend tax money flying illegal “young people” INTO this country via commercial airliner.

Amren’s series of essays is about 20 years from now. At this rate, with this government on this current trajectory, with the world and the trajectory it is on, 20 years seems generous.

    • mikebowen55

Indeed. It seems to me the timeline is going exponential as opposed to linear which makes any kind of prediction difficult.

  • Last night I posted a video of DHS busses driving into the bus station unloading Texas illegals in Phoenix Arizona. DHS loads them up in Texas and drives them to Arizona, where they’re turned loose with no money, no English, no nothing. Some are surely criminals. How’s that going to work out? It sounds like a criminal policy by Obama to me.

Rick Perry is in truth a Mexican worshipper, motivated by his “humane” brand of Christianity, which also supports Israel. I don’t trust him. But this effort is probably sincere, so let’s wait and see.

Barney Frank will take the boys and Congressman Menendez will take the girls.

      • r j p

Barney Frank should be hung by his genitals.

        • 1stworlder

Why not both? Menendez was caught with 14yos but in a nation that it was legal.

    • RisingReich

You mean suicidal brand of Christianity.

      • Spikeygrrl

I doubt he does. And I don’t either. If you still think you disagree, stop, take a look around, and observe what “turning the other cheek” has gotten you IN PRACTICE.

        • RisingReich

          I don’t practice insanity.

          • Spikeygrrl

    • Sick of it

I’d substitute anti-Christ for humane in your description of Gov. Perry’s religion.

    • Einsatzgrenadier

Christianity is white racial suicide. You might as well put a gun to your head and pull the trigger if you’re going to believe in that ignorant, primitive superstition. It’s a lot faster than going to church every Sunday.

      • awb

        Christian Identity work’s for me.

      • Alexandra1973

How so? Just because certain people totally twist and wrest Scripture doesn’t make it a superstition.

It’s pretty obvious God didn’t want all one people (like the UN’s “brown man”). He divided man by race (Shem, Ham, Japheth), by language (Tower of Babel), and by land (Genesis 10:25 And unto Eber were born two
        sons: the name of one [was] Peleg; for in his days was the earth divided;
and his brother’s name [was] Joktan.).

Acts 17:26 (KJV) And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the
face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and
        the bounds of their habitation;

        • Einsatzgrenadier

No, Christianity is a superstition because it’s premised on a belief in supernatural causality, which cannot be verified empirically.

Christians are like negroes. A few may be OK, but the vast majority are disgusting, nasty individuals. Again, your interpretation of the bible may or may not be the correct one. The fact of the matter is that there isn’t a single mainstream Christian denomination that has spoken out against miscegenation or third world immigration. I wish your interpretation was the dominant one, but it isn’t and the vast majority of Christians do not feel the way you do.

No matter how you look at it, Christianity is white racial suicide.

      • Bossman

If not Christianity, what? Europe embraced Christianity because what they had as official religion was much worse.

        • Einsatzgrenadier

And what official religion was that? Europeans would be much better off if they were all atheists and/or agnostics who relied on empirical evidence rather than faith.

          • Bossman

The Greco-Romans had their gods recognized by the state. These gods were quite perverse in ways.

      • antiquesunlight

I don’t understand your anti-Christian point of view. Rejecting Christianity for theological reasons is one thing, but rejecting it on the grounds that it results in the extinction of white people is a bit weird, I think. Western Civilization has been Christian for several of its most prosperous and innovative centuries, but Western Civilization has only declined in proportion to its adoption of liberal ideology, which is often anti-Christian!

        • Einsatzgrenadier

What Christianity was like 500 years ago is irrelevant. It doesn’t change the fact that, at the present moment, Christianity is an evil, anti-white cult that actively seeks the destruction of the white race.

All mainstream Christian denominations actively support multiculturalism, racial egalitarianism, miscegenation, anti-racist ideology, third world immigration &c. Christians justify these liberal beliefs on both theological and biblical grounds.

To reject the racial suicide of miscegenation, for example, is to go against the teachings of the Christian church. This is considered a sin by the guardians of Christian orthodoxy. Therefore, contrary to what you may imagine, most, if not all liberal ideology is actually pro-Christian, not anti-Christian.

We will not be safe until this religion is finally eradicated from all western lands.

          • antiquesunlight

We’re not necessarily talking about Christianity 500 years ago. Christianity 50 or even 20 years ago was much less liberal. I grew up in a Southern Baptist church and I can assure you that miscegenation was not preached or encouraged.
The problem is not Christianity, the problem is the virus, liberalism.
I understand what you are saying, but making statements like “Christianity is racial suicide” is overstating your case.

          • Einsatzgrenadier

Again, there isn’t a single mainstream Christian denomination that speaks out against miscegenation. Why is that?

No, the problem is Christianity. Where do you think liberalism comes from? The concept of human equality is of biblical origin. I am not overstating my case when I say that Christianity is white racial suicide.

          • antiquesunlight

No mainstream organization anywhere speaks out against miscegenation because it would be organizational suicide. Christianity does not teach racial miscegenation even if its churches do.

          • Einsatzgrenadier

So the Christian churches regard preserving their own organizational structure more important than stopping white genocide? This tells me that Christians are disgusting cowards.

Not only do the Christian churches refuse to speak out against the destruction of the white race, they also tolerate, promote and encourage it. Christians do this by condemning “white racism” and openly celebrating interracial marriage.

You can pretend all you want that your special brand of Christianity is the only “true” one, but it doesn’t change the fact that real-life Christianity is a murderous, evil cult.

          • antiquesunlight

Your outrage is misplaced. It should be directed at Christians rather than Christianity.

    • Alexandra1973

I’m a Christian, I support the *nation* of Israel (not the *state,* there’s a difference)…and I believe in each race having its own nation(s). It’s Biblical.

I believe in compassion, but not misplaced compassion.

    • SoulInvictus

Has anyone explained this whole thing? Maybe I’ve missed some news article that did. Without going into conspiracy theory land (though it may be entirely valid), why is DHS busing these people anywhere and dumping them?

  • Anglo

The Texas Department of Public Safety is going to spend $1.3 million a week to the end of the year to secure their border. What happens when their money runs out and the invaders are still coming?

  • dd121

I’d like to see Gov. Perry enforce federal immigration law and send them all back. Why should that cause a constitutional crisis. Noting Obama seems to get a reaction.

  • Standup Broad

Perhaps I have developed a sudden case of illiteracy – what, specifically, is Texas going to DO?

    • Ike Eichenberg

Make the low info voter think they are doing something.

But other than turning the illegals over to ICE for ICE to turn them loose, there is nothing the states can legally (according to SCOTUS) do to prevent the invasion.

  • Who Me?

“Texas law enforcement must do everything they can to keep our citizens and communities safe.”

Which isn’t a whole heck of a lot, considering they will be handcuffed and hobbled at every turn by the Federal government. Doesn’t Texas realize yet that the Fed WANTS these droves of illiterate peasants on our side of the border? They have the full consent and cooperation of the idiot in the white house and his trusty sidekick, Eric “my people” Holder at the helm of the (in)justice department.

  • MekongDelta69

I KNEW this article sounded snarky. When I saw the words “surge” and “flood” in quotes, and the use of the term, ‘so-called surge,’ I knew this was from a leftist site.

So I looked up and voilaCNN.

  • IKUredux

Why, why, why are we allowing this to happen? My God! How much more does this government need to do to us, before we wake up and smell the burritos(with a side order of scabies and non-curable T.B)? Right now, I imagine that TPTB are frustrated that what they are currently doing, isn’t either a). killing us off fast enough, or, b). we aren’t miscegenating fast enough. We are being invaded by children! Children! Is that the new war tactic? Send children, women, and faggots in high heeled combat boots? The new model for our armed(with coordinating accessories!) forces? This country is beyond being a joke! How on Earth is anyone, anywhere in the world, gonna be scared of our might? When it consists of people like that Manning person. Right, our vets are dying because they can’t receive adequate care at the VA hospitals, but they have enough money to pay for this faggot’s sex change operation? ARE YOU FING KIDDING ME?? Has this country gone insane? They must be stopped. Period. To quote the enemy: By any means necessary. They are right about that.

  • Spikeygrrl

Whether or not this program works, it’s an astonishingly tone-deaf piece of electoral branding. Especially now that all our blood and toil in Iraq is Turning To Shyte before our very eyes, any callback to Petraeus’s unpopular military “surge” isn’t just Texas lawmakers shooting themselves in the foot; it’s more like kneecapping themselves with an RPG.

This type of filth has infested NYC big-time. And Muslims. And Indians. And Asians.

      • Bossman

NYC is still the center of the world, as long as their numbers can be controlled to manageable proportions, everything will be alright. There’s still a shortage of kitchen helpers and toilet cleaners in NYC from what I’ve read.

Scoop up some of these kids and send them to France send some to Italy send some to Greece, etc., etc. problem is solved. Then seal border so it don’t happen again.

    • antiquesunlight

What? Why? Why don’t we send them back to where they came from? The French, Italians, and Greeks are our cousins. Why would we want to burden them with needy, troublesome Mexicans?

      • Ringo Lennon

Better idea, yet. Won’t happen though. They’ll just stay in America and burden us.
