Immigration Activists to Occupy House Office Building

Mario Trujillo, The Hill, June 27, 2014

Immigration activists plan to occupy House office buildings on Friday to protest GOP positions on illegal immigration.

United We Dream, a youth-led group that supports expanding protection for illegal immigrants, announced members would protest inside the Rayburn House Office Building at 12:30 p.m.

The group said it would target members from Arizona, California, Maryland, New Mexico, North Carolina, New Jersey, New York, Texas, Tennessee, Wisconsin, Washington and Virginia. The group did not include a list of specific lawmakers.

The group accuses Republicans of using “harsh anti-immigrant rhetoric,” and says the party is using the large influx of child immigrants coming from Central American countries as an excuse not to act on immigration reform.

The group is pushing for the Obama administration to expand a 2012 program that allows some children brought to the country illegally to be deprioritized for deportation. The group wants the program to include the family members of those children as well.

Similar protests have been staged before. The group shows video on its website of its members being arrested in House office buildings in the past.

Republicans say they will not act on immigration until the administration cracks down on border security.

  • Dreamers scream at recalcitrant House Republicans. Recalcitrant House Republicans see Eric Cantor walking in the background.

    • Oil Can Harry

You may recall the Wet Dreamers were occupying Cantor’s apartment building just before he got his comeupppance.

Still, be not afraid. I’m sure Thad Cochran, Haley Barbour, John McCain and the hypermasculine Lindsay Graham will never sell out to these Hispanic militants.

      • Manaphy

Thad Cochran is actually pretty good (read: he agrees with us) when it comes to the immigration issue, but still that doesn’t mean i’m not appalled by his actions earlier this week.

As each illegal alien Dreamlander walks through the door, arrest them and unceremoniously throw them out of the country on their ***.

  • WR_the_realist

I hope they act totally obnoxious.

“The group accuses Republicans of using “harsh anti-immigrant rhetoric,””. That’s funny. If they want to hear some truly “harsh rhetoric” they should give a listen to what I, and most of the people posting here, would have to say to them.

Come on United We Dream, make my dreams come true.

That line has bothered me ever since the RINOs started using it, and I finally figured out why it bothered me and the problem with it. “We can’t pass a bill because we can’t trust Obama to enforce laws.”

For one, it’s RINO doublespeak to placate both the base that wants no part of amnesty and the donors that want it more than anything else.

For another, if Obama was ever interested in enforcement, he has a lot of immigration laws he can start enforcing at any moment he wants. Including the full southern border fence, which is legally mandated and fully funded, has been since 2006 or so.

For yet another, even if we had a President that was faithful in enforcing laws, you can’t bet on any enforcement provisions of any immigration bill staying put forever. For instance, Simpson-Mazzoli back in 1986 was passed when everyone thought the President of the time would do the enforcement part. Well, the problem turned out to be that after Reagan left the White House and Bush 41 came in, the cheap labor lobby conned and weaseled its way into successfully lobbying either repealing or neutering into uselessness one enforcement provision after another after another of Simpson-Mazzoli, until all that was left was the “small” (which turned to be large) amnesty that had to be accepted in order to get all this enforcement.

Thanks, I’ve always wanted to say this, but wasn’t able to express it in words. It is also ridiculous how much Whites did for this country, yet they are constantly sh!tted on by the anti-whites in the government. Also, “act on immigration” is codeword for unconditional amnesty.

Seems like an easy situation to resolve. After a stern warning to leave or be arrested, the ones that choose to stay will immediately be arrested. Is it really that complicated and complex to simply enforce the law, especially in the nation’s Capitol where laws are written?

      “United We Dream”

Mr. Orwell would have appreciated that one, I think. Never realized how much the man looked like my pops, by the way…

  • TruthBeTold

If Obama passing any executive order, that means he’s going to have to put these ‘kids’ somewhere.

How will Americans act when they find that his executive action means their community will be responsible for housing, feeding, employing etc. all these illegal immigrants?

It’s one thing to give lip-service support to Obama but it’s another thing to actually live WITH his actions.

Churches or nonprofit organizations who will be paid generous tax monies will do their “kind” acts of providing basic needs to illegals.

  • hastings88

Republicans should take action: deport all illegals. Reduce legal immigration by 90%.

  • Perhaps riot police with shotguns and tear gas would satisfy the criminal invaders.

  • jayvbellis

Our side needs to video this.

Third world illegals behaving badly, massing in US cities, this killed amnesty in the past.

Of course not, liberals are trying to exterminate whites. If you make a liberal angry enough, they will openly admit it.
