Immigration Bill Would Spend $50 Million to Advise Illegals

Neil Munro, Daily Caller, April 18, 2013

The Senate’s Gang of Eight immigration bill offers $50 million in taxpayer-funded assistance to help illegal immigrants file for the multi-stage amnesty offered by the controversial bill.

The proposed spending is intended to help illegals get “registered provisional immigration status,” which is the first stage of the legalization process.

The money can be given to activist groups to support immigrants who need help “completing applications and petitions, including providing assistance in obtaining the requisite documents and supporting evidence … applying for any waivers for which applicants and qualifying family members may be eligible,” according to Section 2106, beginning on page 131 of the complex 844-page bill.

The very long bill also includes language granting the Secretary of Homeland Security the authority to spend the money on other priorities.

The money can be used for “providing any other assistance that the Secretary or grantees consider useful or necessary to apply for registered provisional immigrant status,” the bill says.

Also, in more good news for illegal immigrants, the $50 million may be just a down payment. Section 2106(d)2(A) of the law provides a five-year authorization to congressional appropriations committees to spend even more taxpayer funds to help activist groups guide illegal immigrants in their quests for green cards as well as access to taxpayer aid and welfare programs.

A variety of Democratic-leaning organizations would meet those requirements. They include La Raza and Casa De Maryland, both of whom are strongly promoting the new amnesty and guest-worker bill.

The only “advice” illegals need is: “Get out of my country!”

    • Svigor

I was just going to suggest that we’ll know “our” side is starting to “get it” when you see them lining up to take this federal cheese, and then spend it on keeping immigrants out.

      • me

Svigor, old boy….you’re on to something, there! Let’s all quit our jobs, go on federal assistance, and start breeding like rabbits! Chaos would commence! The virtual ‘shut down’ of this country! No more White tax-funded genocide of Whites! More White babies! The Feds would go bankrupt! Brilliant!

    • Bobby

Again, any resemblence to a place that used to be called the U.S.A. is purely coincidental. That also goes for the GANG OF EIGHT, that imagine they represent citizens of the U.S.——illegal foreign nationals maybe, but not citizens.

Whoa, Whoa, Whoa, Whoa! The Associated Press specifically told us that we’re never, ever to use the term illegal immigrant again. It’s now undocumented Democrat.

      Pre-Americans? Citizens-in-waiting? Amnesty Amigos?

Love that Jay Leno term! I use it now on a daily basis!

      • Jay Leno is a piece of $h!t.

It’s just a tiny part of the $5 trillion these squat monster invaders will cost us. A mere drop in the bucket.

They need to give money to activist groups to teach Luisa and Pedro to stop using their bare hands to wipe. It spoils the flavor of the dinner salads they make for you at fine restaurants everywhere. It will soon not be safe to eat in restaurants. Watch for it.

      • Michael_C_Scott

It is already not safe to eat at many restaurants. The missus and I eat out only three times per year: on our anniversary and our birthdays. Sushi every time, where we can see exactly who is preparing our food and watch them while they do it. I can’t remember the last time either of us was sick after eating out.

The last place I would go is either a Mexican restaurant or a chain restaurant. Mexican eateries frequently hire ethnic Mexicans with poor sanitation habits – even when they aren’t butchering roadkill deer in the kitchen – and Mexican food is just too easy to make inexpensively at home. Chain restaurants are acutely vulnerable to Affirmative Action requirements, so they tend to be heavily staffed by diversitoids as well, and the food is nothing special. Chinese restaurants are owned, run and staffed far too often by recent immigrants eager to cut corners when it comes to hygiene as well, and again, the stuff is too easy to prepare at home to justify going out for it. Even pizza is absurdly easy to make at home; use large flour tortillas for the crusts, canned marinara sauce, and your own toppings. A spare one-foot by one-foot floor tile makes a decent pizza stone for the oven. Steak houses have become rip-off champs, thanks to the use of transglutaminase “meat glue”, used to assemble cheap beef into convincing fakes of better cuts, which are then cooked and sold at the price prime cuts command, the restaurant owner pocketing the difference. Given the prevalence of E. coli bacteria in ground beef, eating a hamburger one has not personally cooked should seem rather unappealing.

Food safety aside, there is also the issue of political activism by restaurant chains, typically their support of causes most of us would consider diametrically opposed to our own interests. Some of these corporations are rabidly anti-gun.

So can we set up a Pro European Immigrant Activist group and apply for funds?

      Yes! Let’s do that!

That $50 million could be spent productively, such as on one way tickets to Mexico. Alternatively, Amren posters can advise the illegals while Obama saves the money for another of his foolish un-American schemes.

  • Secret Tribunal

Probably no better way to spend $50,000,000 of our tax dollars to wipe out White privilege. When will we lose the privilege of paying for it?

  • NYB

As always, government intervention subsidizes what the business lobby wants.

This is plutocracy taking control of national destiny.

  • George White

My God My God….this is more than I can bear….

    $50 million?

There are 30 million illegals. Let’s assume the time to advise illegals cost $50 per hour in salary and benefits, and the advisement takes 4 hours, that is $200. $50 million divided by $200 equals a total of 250,000 illegals advised. This programs is going to cost over $6 billion.

  • Jefferson

In the end this amnesty crap is going to cost us American taxpayers trillions of dollars. So much for John McCain, Lindsay Graham, Marco Rubio, and Rand Paul being “fiscal conservatives”.

  • Michael_C_Scott

Fifty million is probably chump change for the $PLC, but I’ll bet Morris Sleaze is rubbing his hands even as I type.

  • Greg Thomas

How ironic that they always claim we do not have the money to deport illegal invaders or secure our southern border, yet they always seem to come up with the needed cash to
aid and abet illegal invading mexicans. Someone is lying.

  • Ella

The US Govt knows it can get away with their abuses and insanities because they don’t expect comfortable Middle Class to take action. We’re not organized and united enough to react. So it will be a slow drip of death, much like Europe. Jefferson said we have to be willing to protect and fight for our freedoms among each generation. Many States voters keep voting in the same old fools with the same despairing results.
