Is the West Guilty?

Roland Johnson, American Renaissance, October 18, 2013

No. We have been fighting for our lives for 1,500 years.

According to the trendy nonsense of our time, the history of Europe and Western Civilization is a legacy of shame. The West bears the mark of Cain for its sins of aggression, colonialism, slavery, and racism. It does not matter that the West gave birth to the ideals of liberty and human dignity—and practiced those ideals by eliminating the slave trade and colonial rule. Or that our political systems have promoted freedom around the world, and our science has improved the lives of people everywhere.

For a sense of balance, let us consider the history of non-Western aggression against the West. The fact that so many of us are unaware of these aggressions is proof of the bias of our media and educational systems.

A good place to start is the invasion of Europe by Central-Asian Huns in the fourth and fifth centuries. This fierce warrior people launched a series of aggressive attacks against Germanic tribes living in what is now Russia and Eastern Europe. Fleeing pillage and slavery, many Germans sought sanctuary in the Roman Empire, but the Huns kept advancing into Roman territory. Finally, in 451, a combined Roman and Germanic army drove Attila’s armies back at the Battle of Châlons (near Châlons-en-Champagne in modern-day France).

Alas, that victory did not save Rome. The movement of the Germanic tribes into the Western Empire destabilized and overwhelmed it. What followed was a Dark Age during which Europeans languished for centuries. Part of the blame rests with the Huns.

Scarcely had Europe emerged from the Dark Age when it faced another Asiatic invasion. This was the onslaught of the Mongols who turned west in the 13th century after conquering large parts of Asia. They pillaged Russia and Eastern Europe, leaving behind devastation and slavery. This is an account written by Giovanni de Plano Carpini, the Pope’s envoy to the Mongol Great Khan, who traveled through Kiev in February 1246:

They [the Mongols] attacked Rus [Russia], where they made great havoc, destroying cities and fortresses and slaughtering men, and they lay siege to Kiev, the capital of Rus; after they had besieged the city for a long time, they took it and put the inhabitants to death. When we were journeying through the land we came across countless skulls and bones of dead men lying on the ground. Kiev had been a very large and thickly populated town, but now it has been reduced almost to nothing, for there are at the present time scarce two hundred houses there, and the inhabitants are kept in complete slavery.1

The Mongols wanted all of Europe, and might have gotten it if the death of the great Ogedei Khan in 1242 had not sent Batu Khan, the leader who was ravaging Europe, back to the Mongolian capital to ensure his succession. Batu Khan left Eastern Europe depopulated and in ruins, but his return to Ulan Bator saved Western Europe. Still, Mongols remained in southern and central Russia for centuries in the Crimean, Kazan, and Astrakhan Khanates, which became hubs for slave raiding and trading. Some historians estimate that they enslaved more than three million Ukranians, Russians, and Poles.2 The word “slave” is etymologically close to the word “Slav” because of the number of Slavs who were enslaved over the centuries.

Although the heart of Europe was spared, the Mongols may have inflicted an even more horrible toll. In 1347, as bubonic plague raged from central Asia to the edges of their empire, Mongol forces besieged a Genoese outpost in the Crimea. They catapulted infected corpses into the city, thereby infecting Genoese traders who later traveled to southern Europe. The plague broke out in those areas and spread across the continent. Between 1348 and 1350, bubonic plague—the Black Death—wiped out a third or more of Europe’s population.3

The predations of the Huns and Mongols, however, were short-lived, compared with the thousand years of aggression unleashed against Europe by Moors, Turks, and other Muslims. A mere century after its founding, Islam advanced by the sword across the Middle East and North Africa and stood at the gates of Spain in 711.

Muslims quickly conquered most of that country and then surged into France. The fate of Europe hung in the balance at the Battle of Tours in 732, when the forces of Charles Martel defeated the Muslims and drove them back into Spain. The war in Iberia between Islam and Christendom waxed and waned for seven more centuries. Spanish Christians under Muslim rule lived in varying conditions at different times, but always had the status of dhimmis: non-Muslims subject to discriminatory laws.

Spaniards managed to gain back some of their territory, but in 1085 the Muslim commander Yusef ibn Tashufin led a fierce African army in an attempt to reconquer all of Spain. Mayhem and slavery followed in his wake, and he was stopped only by the courage of the legendary El Cid and other Spanish warriors. In the next century, another African army tried to finish what Yusef started. Brutal warfare continued until the Spaniards decisively defeated the Muslims at the battle of Las Navas de Tolosa in 1212. Nevertheless, Islam maintained an outpost in Europe until the Spaniards overran the last Muslim stronghold, Grenada, in 1492.

Many Muslims who left settled in North Africa. Some of them took to slave raiding along the coasts of Europe. In his book Christian Slaves, Muslim Masters: White Slavery in the Mediterranean, the Barbary Coast, and Italy, 1500-1800, Professor Robert Davis noted that between those dates, “Enslavement was a very real possibility for anyone who traveled in the Mediterranean, or who lived along the shores in places like Italy, Spain and Portugal, even as far north as England and Iceland.” During that time, which was approximately the same period as Atlantic slave trade, Davis estimates that Muslim slavers captured one to one-and-a-quarter million Europeans, often working them to death in quarries and oarsmen in galleys.4 This number well exceeds the 800,000 black slaves estimated to have been taken to North America.

After the victory of Las Navas de Tolosa and the retreat of the Mongols, the heartland of Europe enjoyed only a brief period of peace. In the middle of the 13th century a new force gathered under the flag of Islam: the Ottoman Turks. Originally from Central Asia, the Ottomans drove into southeastern Europe in the early 14th century. In 1389 they crushed the Serbs at the battle of Kosovo and continued north for the next century-and-a-half. Europe’s defenders finally managed to halt them at the gates of Vienna only in 1529.

The Turks were renowned for their cruelty. During their rule of southeastern and central Europe they enslaved millions of people—three million from Hungary alone—sending many to the slave markets of Asia Minor and the Middle East. Some of the women went to harems; some of the men were made eunuchs. In Eastern Europe, as in Spain, Christians were dhimmis, and were forced to offer a regular quota of their sons to serve in the Ottoman army’s Janissary corps. These men had to embrace Islam and cut all ties to their families.5

The threat to Europe subsided somewhat in the 16th century, following two stunning Christian victories. The first was in 1565 when the Turks attacked Europe’s western flank by trying to capture the island of Malta. The heroic defenders—Spaniards, Italians, Maltese, outnumbered eight to one—hurled the Turks back with heavy losses, in what was one of the most bloody and bitterly contested sieges in history.

The second victory was at Lepanto, off the coast of Greece in 1571, when Christians met a Turkish armada of galleys intent on destroying Christian naval power once and for all. The Turks were stopped by the Holy League fleet, largely manned by Spaniards and Venetians and commanded by Don John of Austria. Shortly before the battle, the Europeans learned that the Turks had captured Cyprus, cut off the ears and nose of the Christian commander, and flayed him alive. Don John’s men vowed vengeance—which they took abundantly. Most of the Turkish fleet was either destroyed or captured. Don John’s men liberated 15,000 European slaves who had been Turkish galley slaves.6

The Turkish threat subsided but did not disappear. In 1683, the Ottomans launched their final attempt to conquer Europe, advancing once again to the gates of Vienna, where they lay siege to the city. Coming to its rescue was a Polish-German force commanded by King Jan Sobieski of Poland. The Ottoman army outnumbered Sobieski’s, but the Polish king launched a surprise attack that routed the invaders.

For approximately two more centuries, the Ottomans fought a losing battle to keep their European possessions. They could not keep up with European military technology, and by the dawn of the 20th century, Europeans had long forgotten their fear of Muslim conquest. That danger was over—or so it seemed.

Long before the Muslim collapse, the nations of Europe began to establish their own colonies. Some, like the Spanish conquests in the New World, were harshly run, but centuries of Islamic aggression forged the Spanish character. In any case, European colonialism rarely lasted much more than two centuries, a short span compared to the foreign domination of large portions of Europe. European rule often ended peacefully, unlike the alien rule of Europe, which had to be thrown off by force of arms.

Europeans conducted their own slave trade, but they also did more than any other people to end slavery. Africans who made fortunes selling tribal enemies as slaves bitterly resisted the abolition of the trade, and slavery has still not been eradicated in Africa. In modern times, the West has given enormous amounts of aid to the Third World.

Why hate the West?

Why do so many Westerners hate the West? The roots of their thinking go back to classical Marxism, which aimed to incite working class rebellion. The workers refused to rebel, however, and sided with their national governments during World War I. After the war, a number of Marxists decided to revise their dogma. Prominent among them was a group living in Frankfurt, Germany, known as the Frankfurt School, who believed that class struggle was not enough to bring about revolution. What was necessary was cultural Marxism that would attack the key pillars of Western Civilization: religion, patriotism, and family life. They called this attack on Western identity and culture “critical theory,” and members of the Frankfurt School brought this theory to the United States.7

Critical theorists Max Horkheimer (front left), Theodor Adorno (front right), and Jürgen Habermas (back right).

Today, critical theory holds tremendous power. It endlessly harps on the West’s colonial past without mentioning the colonization of the West. It holds up Hitler and the Third Reich as symbols of Europe, without conceding that most of the West united against Hitler.

In Europe, cultural Marxists are using Muslim immigration to destroy the West claiming, ironically, that Europeans must atone for their sins by surrendering to those who sinned against them for so long. In America, Latin American immigration serves the same purpose. Cultural Marxists use Western guilt, manipulated by critical theory, to neutralize opposition—and yet these ideological heirs to the Cheka dungeons, the Ukrainian famine, the Gulag camps, and the Cambodian genocide have no moral authority to condemn the West

Today the fate of our civilization is in the balance, just as much as it was at Tours and Vienna. If they are to have a future, Europe and its overseas outposts must revisit their past. They must shed their guilt and rekindle their will to live. The spirits of Charles Martel, El Cid, Jan Sobieski, and all their valiant company will point the way.

Roland Johnson did a very good job of presenting this story in such a way as to help the uneducated to understand what they are up against, and he is right in telling them to follow the examples of past heroes as we are sadly lacking in modern role models .

Can you imagine what the world today would be like if it had been George W. Bush, Bill Clinton or Obama at the Battle of Tours, (also called The Battle of Poitiers), instead of Charles Martel?

They’d be tripping over themselves rushing to issue all the invaders green cards.

      • Can you imagine if Karl Roverrated or David Brooks were in charge of things when the Turks were coming toward Vienna? “Oppose the Ottomans the smart way. Don’t be like that loudmouth tinfoil hat kook extremist Ted Cruz Sobieski III who wants to engage directly with them in combat. We can’t win that way, of course wink wink “we” can’t win because we should really surrender to them.”

  • John R

A very informative view of the history of Western Civilization. I only wish THIS version would be taught in our public schools. We need to honor our greatest leaders: Charles Martel, El Cid, Jan Sobieski, among others.

    • Zaporizhian Sich

Add Ivan Grozny and Vlad the Impaler to that last, they were most efficient killers of Muslims, by using their own terror tactics against them.

      • John R

While we’re on the subject. Let us not forget that THE FIRST MAJOR FOREIGN WAR fought by the United States was against the Muslim Barbary pirates of North Africa. Europe wanted to appease the pirates; we wanted to stand up to them. We fought them-having to actually BUILD a fleet to do so-and won. This should be one of the most proud moments of American history. One of the few “good wars” fought. But again, hardly mentioned in the history books. Why? Muslim pirates, terror tactics, European acquiescence, sounds a little too much like current history for the libs today.

        • Sick of it

We built a navy from scratch and did more to the Barbary pirates than the British Empire did. They just let their citizens be kidnapped and enslaved or attempted to pay them off.

        • Zaporizhian Sich

Personally, if they fought that war the way the Russians or better yet the Ukrainians have, they would have killed every last one of them, and their peoples with them. Like the Spaniards, repeated invasions and genocides have made the Slavs capable of fearsome cruelty, which our enemies deserve to face the full force and fury of.

      • Funruffian

Don’t forget Red Tails and The Butler.

12 Years a Slave, The Help, Amistad, Driving Miss Daisy, A Day Without a Mexican, American History X, Black Like Me, 42, Hairspray, In the Heat of the Night, blah blah blah, etc. etc. etc. The enemies of Western civilization have been quite prolific in their production of anti-white propaganda. The list of movies intended to drum up white guilt is endless.

With each iteration of the pervasive “grievance film” genre, I lose respect for another white actor (eg., I can no respect Harrison Ford owing to his involvement in 42). I’m slowly tuning out to everything Hollywood-produced and just sticking to plain old books and HBO shows. Even movies produced today with ostensibly nothing to do with race or homosexuality are starting to lay the Marxist propaganda on heavy. It’s all just sickening.

          • Avenger

Harrison Ford, although he almost never talks about it, is actually Jewish. Perhaps not really raised in the faith of his ancestors, but as they say, blood is thicker than water. I’m not surprized he ended up doing contemporary anti-White Hollywood stuff.

You mentionned American History X; I’m not sure what to make of that movie. I mean, not all skinhead characters are portrayed as violent idiots, like one might have expected from such a movie. NOt at all: Derek was a straight-A student. The movie has a magic Negro-type of character, yes, but Avery Brooks’ character doesn’t do a whole lot, in the entire film. And the many murderous Black thugs are shown (except one) as the repulsive beasts they are in real life!

          • Homo_Occidentalis

I agree with most of what you say. Harrison Ford is indeed maternally Jewish, which manifests itself in his ideological inclinations. I still love him as an actor, but utterly detest him as a human being.

I too wasn’t sure of what to make of AHX, but I interpreted the *spiolers* horrible events that befell the main characters as the filmmaker’s caution to viewers about the lifestyle the characters led. Also, I’m not really sure why my comment was deleted. I guess including an image that showed Samuel L. Jackson’s nipples was a bad judgement on my part.

The modern moslems have it so much easier. Europe has surrendered. They even subsidize them and put them in a privileged position allowing them to do things European whites are not allowed to do. It is insane, and unless there is change white people are committing racial suicide.

    • Whirlwinder

      How about civilizational suicide

      • rightrightright

It isn’t suicide exactly. We have been manipulated and threatened into silence while our civilisation is murdered.

Our “best” and “brightest” are the biggest danger to our survival. The thought makes me cringe, but wholesale extirpation of our “intelligentsia” might be the first necessary step.

Most of the chosen people aren’t even Europeans

  • Compare and contrast this Friday’s feature with last Friday’s.

Western civilization didn’t beat back the many threats that almost drove it to extinction by being libertarian, or prostrating itself to any other ideological cult.

Also, be mindful of the fact that the former military threats to the West that have transformed into the ideological threat known as cultural Marxism. If they can’t beat us with the force of arms, they’ll beat us by infecting our brains. Cultural Marxism, mind you, is a fundamental base and prerequisite of libertarianism.

Can we be those same people? I think so. ARE we those people? We are those same exact people. We’ve just been befuddled and conned, and we’ve been the unwitting victims of sharp practice and deliberate psy-ops. A very dirty guerrilla war where the enemy found our most sensitive Achilles heel and chopped it with a sharpened blade. That can be changed but it takes a movement, a change in consciousness that takes hold and then spreads like fire. There must be a trigger for it, and I would like to know what it is so we could find it. Once we could do that we can get back up on our feet and we will be older, wiser, and warier.
Abundance and wealth in society always leads to the decadent laziness of useless intellectuals trying to fill up their time causing trouble making up crazy theories like Liberalism. It would be a lot better to put them on a strong diet of manual labor like 12 hour days farming, after their lips have been sewn up. Imagine the peace in society? The bliss. It makes you think about that old saying with idleness leading to devil’s wok. We’ve seen it firsthand.

They attacked us most strongly via our women. That includes the various morality crusades of the 19th century (some of which, like temperance and suffrage, spilled over into the 20th). Since public education became widespread they have attacked us via our children.

“As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, they which lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of thy paths.

The Lord standeth up to plead, and standeth to judge the people.

The Lord will enter into judgment with the ancients of his people, and the princes thereof: for ye have eaten up the vineyard; the spoil of the poor is in your houses.

What mean ye that ye beat my people to pieces, and grind the faces of the poor? saith the Lord God of hosts.

Moreover the Lord saith, Because the daughters of Zion are haughty, and walk with stretched forth necks and wanton eyes, walking and mincing as they go, and making a tinkling with their feet:

Therefore the Lord will smite with a scab the crown of the head of the daughters of Zion, and the Lord will discover their secret parts.

In that day the Lord will take away the bravery of their tinkling
ornaments about their feet, and their cauls, and their round tires like the moon, The chains, and the bracelets, and the mufflers,
The bonnets, and the ornaments of the legs, and the headbands, and the tablets, and the earrings, The rings, and nose jewels,
The changeable suits of apparel, and the mantles, and the wimples, and the crisping pins, The glasses, and the fine linen, and the hoods, and the vails.

And it shall come to pass, that instead of sweet smell there shall be stink; and instead of a girdle a rent; and instead of well set hair
baldness; and instead of a stomacher a girding of sackcloth; and burning instead of beauty.

Thy men shall fall by the sword, and thy mighty in the war.

And her gates shall lament and mourn; and she being desolate shall sit upon the ground.” Isaiah 3:12-26

Can you image the libertarian response to Attila the Hun or the Ottoman Empire?

They would have implored the foreigners to respect “property rights”… and then they would have been killed. The end.

      • Or, they would have denounced people organizing against the Hun, Mongol, Arab or Turk invasions as “collectivists” and “racists” and “xenophobes.”

        • dumbfuckdemocrats

Are you talking about libertarians or liberals?

It is true that direct military threats will have to be met with force. In that regard, the military achievements described in this article are very important and there is every reason for us all to be grateful for the sacrifices made by the heroes and to draw inspiration for future challenges. However, the threat today is not primarily military, at least not yet. It is also important to remember that what enabled the western world to pull ahead in the world was The Enlightenment and the subsequent gradual industrialization, a development both aiming for and made possible by (a degree of) individual freedom.

I do not agree that cultural Marxism is “fundamental base and prerequisite of libertarianism.” Libertarianism is the idea that people should be allowed to exercise full control over their life and property. CM is not a prerequisite for this. Some people have made the argument that libertarianism leads to anomie and deracination. There is some truth to this. In the present world the facets of libertarianism that have this effect are largely established, while the facets that allow individuals to choose a path rooted in more traditional values, for example freedom of association and the complete freedom to educate your children as you see fit, are not.

      • robinbishop34

This is why I believe a move toward Libertarianism –at least as a start– would free people up to pursue there own natural, spontaneous self interests, which includes coalescing around a common identity/race/culture.

Great article, I am starting to educate my kids on these great stories and the battles that saved our past.

Boys especially love to hear about battles and kingdoms and these stories infuse identity, history and understanding the future by understanding the past in one concise setting.

    These stories can be powerful.

We need to realize where the battle lines are today: Miley Cyrus and Lady Gaga have over 400 million hits on YOutube.

In my research, I came across an historian who said that Charles de Grossa (Charlemagne) had his Germanic name changed by the French to Charlemagne. He shin bone was measured in recent times at 17 inches, which corresponds to an average height of 6’0″. He had thin bones, which makes me suspect that his general build was elongated. His height may have been 6’3″. That was extremely tall for the era. He evidently was the type we call lanky. If he was well developed physically and athletic, and he almost certainly was, he could have been quite formidable physically.

Another report I saw once said his entire skeletal remains had been measured, and he was found to have been 6’3″. As in the case of George Washington, his stature was a powerful adjunct to his way of leadership.

Wow, you really hit it on the head. I bet our kids over here can tell you all about Harriet Tubman, Nat Turner, Thurgood Marshall, Rosa Parks etc. They sure don’t hear about the people that you have listed above, except if they’ve heard it by happenstance from one of us. So I’m glad to have read this; it reminds me that I must teach my children more diligently. This article will definitely be printed, copied, and distributed. Trying to deflect away from that redistributive social justice moral imperative is WORSE than getting rich from oppressing and exploiting the helpless, vulnerable, and victimized minority Diversity, so the punished should include more than just paying up- torture and genocide are on the list of “options.”

    • That headline: Because our Federal government has quit lying ended its “extraordinary measures” to hold the apparent total national debt pretty much steady for the last few months to avoid “legally” running into the debt ceiling, and now that the debt ceiling has been raised again, there’s no reason to lie anymore extraordinary measures aren’t necessary anymore, they can now finally tell the truth about the national debt readjust the ticker.

That said, I have been able to figure that as of now, 49.2% of the total national debt run up in the history of the republic has happened since January 3, 2007, which means it has happened while either Nancy Pelosi was House Speaker and/or Barack Obama was/is President.

      • Sick of it

      • Franklin_Ryckaert

First understand what the “Federal” Reserve Bank is, how it operates and by whom, then talk about “debt”. The FED is a private institution which creates “out of thin air” money which it lends to the state at interest. To pay for the debt the state collects income tax. But the state has not only to repay the principal but also the interest. Thus it has to repay more money than there is in circulation, which is impossible. To pay its debts it has to borrow more money from the FED, which it can’t repay either, and so on. Thus the state incurs an astronomical debt which is physically impossible to repay. In the mean time the owners of the FED grow richer and richer, while the people grow poorer and poorer, and that was the intention all along. The solution for the state is of course to arrest the owners of the FED, cancel all debts and edit debt-free money itself. The FED is an entirely unnecessary swindle institution. Prosperity would quickly return without it.

        • Is that you, G. Edward Griffin?

          • Franklin_Ryckaert

No, but there are more people than G. Edward Griffin who understand the fraud of the FED.”Central banks” similar to the American FED exist in nearly all countries of the world, controlled by the same people. The power to create money out of nothing and then enslave whole countries in debt, is the ultimate power in the world. No real freedom is possible as long as this mega-fraud exists.

William Krapek: Good job. But the Roman Empire was recovering nicely from the Germanic invasions. Islam did us in. Therefore: our first goal should be to eradicate that plague.

Me: The usual narrative does not take into consideration that the new
Germanic states were in fact completely new. The Gothic tribes had lived
in a different fashion before they settled down in Europe. They needed
time to create their new and various polities, to determine how they
were going to live, to determine what they were going to believe. People
don’t do that overnight. Their original way of life had been destroyed
by the savage Huns (making the use of that term to describe the German
people that much more of a slap to the face).

“After the war, a number of Marxists decided to revise their dogma.
Prominent among them was a group living in Frankfurt, Germany, known as

would attack the key pillars of Western Civilization: religion,
patriotism, and family life. They called this attack on Western identity
and culture “critical theory,” and members of the Frankfurt School
brought this theory to the United States.7”

  • David Ashton

The “equality and diversity” ideology that is inimical to western civilization arises to a large extent from a “Cultural Marxist” milieu, though not every member of the original Frankfurt School was primarily so motivated, and some like Herbert Marcuse also produced some valid if limited critiques of consumerism and sovietism.

However, he and others associated with him aimed at a revolution that would exploit minority groups – blacks, immigrants, “wimmin”, homosexuals, etc – against the dominant white and traditionally christian majority, by passing the white working class families who had been compromised by capitalism and had at least temporarily lost their revolutionary consciousness. This movement has risen through academe and some of the media to become a dominant force, with legislative impacts in many western countries, especially and sadly Olde England. All this can be documented from their own writings, as I have shown in previous debates with John Engelman, etc.

The Muslim influx has been on such a scale that it has complicated their analysis and response, but that is another matter.

The West is now under quadrilateral attack from forces whose detestation of us is stronger than their dislike of one another.

  • Thaddeus Stevens

The fact that so many of us are unaware of these aggressions

So Attila the Hun (widely revered in a ‘white’ country such as Hungary), Genghis Khan, the Moors, the Turks are ‘hidden’ history? Really?

    non-Western aggression against the West.

Those non-Westerners also invaded other non-Westerners. White Romans invaded the Middle East. White Greeks invaded Afghanistan and India. And whites invaded other whites.

Saying it is ‘non-Western’ aggression against the ‘West’ is rather silly.

  • Thaddeus Stevens

It endlessly harps on the West’s colonial past without mentioning the colonization of the West.

Because the Global inequality is still with us, a direct legacy of colonialism.

It is because the US is still the most powerful country in the world, and often acts as an arrogant bully.

The Mongolians have gone back to being goat herders (or whatever) and have little impact on the modern world. The Japanese have retreated to Japan.

But whites still occupy non-white lands. When whites go back to Europe and colonialism is reversed, then people will not bother about what whites so much.

  • Bo_Sears

This is a great re-telling of the old, old story about slave-taking, kidnapping, oppression, and imperialism into Europe. I notice that the southern Mediterrean coast was not emphasized, and that was probably a good thing because it would be exremely hard for readers to understand that the Roman/Christian culture completely circled the Mediterrean Sea, not just the continent of Europe.

However, as a topical note, one of the Boston Bombers was named Tamerlan as the namesake of Genghiz Khan’s great-grandson in law. Tamerlan is credited with killing a number of people equal to 5% of the entire world’s population in his time, and his depradations were in part in south-eastern Europe. He’s not as well known as the big three you mention (Arabs, Mongols, and Turks), but he had a tremendous impact on the world including the reference to one of the Boston Bombers, but also because he died during the century in which Columbus sailed to the Western Hemisphere, nicely tying all these depradations to “our” crime of 500 years.

    Not criticism, just a comment.

    • Tamarlane was also responsible for burning the great library of Baghdad. His barbarity knew no limits.

  • Jesse James

Outstanding feature article, thanks very much. Thanks for the morale boost, this struggle against the other peoples of the world has been going on for thousands of years. We will persevere and do our part to resist domination by outsiders. It is good to think back across the centuries and draw courage from those who fought tooth and nail to protect the West. We will rise against the darkness of this day.

Much disorganized thought and terms that have no assignment to Reality. I have to tell you it is largely babble. Muslims come to Europe as a stealth jihad, to hake it over. Correct, the Scythians like the ancient Slavs and Vikings came as violent invaders to Ukraine, before they were absorbed by the local people. They did not however level entire cities and put ever last person to death there the way the Mongols turned Kiev into a burned out wasteland littered with skeletons. They wanted lands, or to control resources, not to exterminate the local people the way the Mongols and Muslims have time and time again.

Islamic terrorism and fanaticism, honor killing, and female genital mutilation cannot possibly be blamed on the West. The horrible status of south Saharan Africa was not caused by European colonialism. It is caused by the fact that European rule of the area ended many generations too soon.

    • Ella

FGM practices are not necessarily related to Muslim religion, but it originated from superstitions and ancient African cultures. You can also see the same primitiveness among the albino abductions and mutilations in Africa. Mainly, Muslim Africans practice it today as a form of sexual oppression, and I’m not sure how they incorporated FGM into radical Islam.

Fair complected women, Northern European and Asian, have always been prized in African and Middle Eastern countries. It still exists today, whereas they are sold and/or kidnapped. In fact, sex slavery has always been the biggest demand among
      any human slavery in history.

Very nice summary of the major scourges of the West. Leaves out some lesser-known invaders: the Avars of the 9th century, the Paztinaks and Ghuzz after them. I have known this history since high school, which is why I have always defended the West. The Penguin Atlas of Medieval History shows kingdoms and peoples appearing and vanishing. The white Medes of the Afghanistan region were wiped out by the ancestors of the Pashtun from Pakistan. White existence has always been fragile.

I find the capitalist vs marxist idea to be incomplete as an explanation for the Muslim invasion of Europe. One must admit, however, that Germany began the importation of Gastarbeiter Turks (who would eventually leave) for purely economic reasons, and found herself unable to be rid of them once they discovered how generous was the German social system, (which works exceptionally well when limited to a productive and homogenous community of Germans). The German unwillingness to remove a parasitic element in their midst is obviously due to continuing guilt over the past. Whether the SPD and Greens support the presence of the islamics or not, they certainly do their best to recruit them.

The situation in the US has been explained (in perhaps oversimplified terms) thusly: The left wants to import non-whites who will largely be beholden to government largesse in order to increase their voting base. There is also a widely held opinion that Jews do their utmost to import as many minorities as possible in order to dilute the white Christian majority. Kevin McDonald has covered their motivations and goals very well.

The so-called Country Club Republicans want to import more cheap labor in order to hold down labor costs. Another (not necessarily distinct) wing ordinarily referred to as neo-cons is also in favor of unrestricted immigration and is vocally racially agnostic because they had been Marxists in the past and wish not the slightest taint of bigotry assigned to them as they push their agenda of never-ending wars in the Middle East.

Meanwhile, those of us with conservative economic views are divided into several camps, mostly divided by social and religious beliefs. Oddly enough, this puts some of us solidly behind the neo-cons, though one prays that this group is getting smaller by the day.

Small wonder that the right in the US cannot get together to address the problem of aliens in our midst.

    • Jesse James

Perhaps the German’s inability to rid themselves of parasitic Turks and other “guest” workers who have overstayed their welcome is due in no small part to the genetic loss suffered in the two World Wars. The best, brightest and most aggressive Germans were certainly forefront during the war and thus suffered the greatest numbers of casualties. Add to that the systematic destruction of their culture and their villainization as a people has in effect neutered the Germans.

      • ShermanTMcCoy

Hard to say, but I hope you are not implying that the Turks (with an average IQ of 85) who almost never make into Gymnasium (university prep) in any way make up for the loss of intelligent Germans.

        • Jesse James

I re-read my first post and don’t see anything that would suggest that I favor or think that Turks could or should replace native Germans. I would like to see historically white nations everywhere retain and increase their white majorities and retain dominance of their culture and institutions.

          • ShermanTMcCoy

Have you read Cicero on the subject of the traitor? And author C.S. Lewis on “social worker” tyranny?

Lewis, I think, was being too nice. He gave the “social worker tyrants” credit for having a conscience and well-meaning motives. They don’t have either, not the high “honchos”, only the little stooges mean well and have bleeding hearts. Lewis’s point, I think, is that a tyrant motivated by greed and a lust for power might show favoritism, be indulgent for a moment, or just plain take a day off. The other kind, never.

Anyway, you did a good job of putting two ideas together.

Cicero: “A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less
formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the
traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers
rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government
itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents
familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he
appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He
rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to
undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that
it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear.”

C.S. Lewis: “Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its
victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under
robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron’s
cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be
satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us
without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.”

  • gemjunior

Yes, actually you’re right – I meant that ‘intellectuals’ is how they describe themselves, and what they think of themselves. They also think that we are not smart enough to make our own rules, but they are, being intellectuals. Another annoying term is “the elite”. They are only elite liars and thieves. I’m talking about influential people like those in Congress and the senate who lie for a living at the behest of their masters. And I am not talking about us…..

Great articles like these do a wonderful job of revealing the anti-white hate that permeates every level of education in Western countries.

To some degree we have practiced far too much self-hate by devising and telling ourselves anti-white versions of our own history, but to an equal degree, if not more, we have been subjected to a long term campaign of destruction waged from within by alien parasites living amongst us.

Almost every human being sleeps through the horrors happening to others and certainly is asleep to the horrors visited upon his ancestors. It is only when it happens to HIM, when he is personally under attack that he awakes with a start and brings all of the considerable resources at his command to bear for his own survival. It is true for others and it is true for me as well. That is our problem. Not enough white westerners are experiencing the whip. Not yet. This in combination with the fact that most westerners have lived coddled lives and can’t even imagine the ferocity of those who hate them unto death, be they muslims or marxists, this makes it a certainty that there will be no fierce counter-fight until things get bad, seriously bad for my fellow sleepwalkers.

Great article. There are many ways the west can be brought down, how about this one.

I read the 35 page bill that ended the “shutdown” and on page 24, I found the bomb; the USA is totally screwed, THERE IS NO MORE DEBT LIMIT FROM NOW ON. It will take a
2/3 majority of congress to stop the unlimited borrowing power of the president. He does not need congressional approval, congress can only disapprove and the president can veto that disapprovable; then it would take a 2/3 majority to override the veto.

  • Jesse James

Systematic destruction of the many bastions of a people’s culture is what the leftist have done here in what some call “the long march through our institutions”. What are those institutions? Our colleges and universities, churches, primary school systems, the judiciary including our Supreme Court, volunteer organizations, take over of endowment charity organizations and the perversion of their founders intent (Ford Foundation), infiltration and subversion of our military by selective promotion and conversion of the upper leadership, labor unions, civil service, corporate collusion, media, newspapers, TV news. I am sure you could add hundreds of examples to this list of organizations that effect our culture that have been subverted by communist progressive thought.

The US was directly involved with the De-Nazification of Germany and Europe. This process didn’t just effect actual Nazi’s but was used to deny employment or voice to a whole generation of right wing thinkers, writers and academics. This process removed the counter-balance to socialist/communist ideology and resulted in all of Europe, not just those countries occupied by the Soviet Union, shifting far to the left. A similar process is progressing in the US but because we were not beaten on the battlefield and didn’t experience the cultural demoralization caused by defeat and subjugation the process has moved slower here.

We have had many enemies, particularly among certain racial and religious minorities who have worked to demolish and weaken the institutions of the historical American people, but our biggest weakness is apathy caused by our prosperity. I don’t expect any real reaction to develop until things get much worse economically. People will put up with loss of freedom as long as they perceive themselves to generally be well enough off personally. Those that have much tend to fear risk and will put off real confrontation as long as possible.
