West Memphis’ police chief said crime increased more than 100 percent after he halted the street crimes unit after 12 year DeAunta Farrow was shot and killed by a police officer.

{snip}

Chief Bob Paudert said the street crimes unit is back.

“They’ve made over 70 arrests including alcohol, guns, loitering,” Paudert said.

Stopping people for drinking on the streets, even underage smoking. One 17 year old who was smoking also had marijuana on him when he was arrested.

“Get used to it. We’re going to be fair. If they want to call us Gestapo, that’s fine. Call us whatever you want we will have a safe city to live and if you don’t like it move to a city close by and have all the crime you want,” Paudert said.

David Clark doesn’t like the tactics police are using.

{snip}

West Memphis city council member Lorraine Robinson, who has been critical of the police department in the past, said crime did increase considerably when the street crimes unit pulled back. She supports the crime fighting. She just wants it to happen in all of the neighborhoods.

I love that malarkey about cracking down on all the neighborhoods, not just the black one, as if the crime went up in all the neighborhoods 100%, just like the black neighborhood. Everybody’s supposed to not use common sense when it comes to blacks.

At last, a police force that employs the only tactics that seem to work in high-crime areas. “If they want to call us the Gestapo, that’s fine.” Glad that epithets no longer carry the sting or stigma that they once did. Finally, we are beginning to lose the irrational fear of names that are hurled at us by those who simply enjoy seeing us cower at them. No more, and never again.

The city councilwoman who thinks that the police should be in ALL the neighborhoods, not just the high-crime black ones, will be the first one to foam at the mouth, saying the cops are doing nothing about crime in black neighborhoods should they be redeployed to other neighborhoods.

That might not be a bad idea. Keep the police OUT of the high-crime black neighborhoods. Leave the blacks to police themselves. That way, there won’t be any friction between black citizens and the police.

West Memphis to Memphis is East St. Louis to St. Louis. And the comparison is more apt than the fact that the formers sit across a river from the latters, in floodplains.

Hey Lorraine, it looks like the chief is just going on a hunch, like policemen are prone to do, and figuring the areas responsible for this massive crime increase are the ones that demand such tactics.

As usual, it’s YOUR community responsible….that’s right…(drumroll please)…the black community.

I agree completely with the councilwoman who thinks that the police should be in ALL the neighborhoods, not just the high-crime black ones. All police should immediately leave Black areas and only patrol White areas. In fact,if I can get a police cruiser to park outside my house all day, I promise to provide a daily lunch and newspaper for those fine gentlemen. They may also use my bathroom any time they want.

where is WEST Memphis? Sounds to me like it must be in Arkansas.

More of the usual from the black “community”. They want “crime” out of their neighborhoods, as if crime was something that just happens, rather than being caused by - you guessed it - criminals.

Someone black should tell this dunderhead councilwoman that law enforcement goes where the crime is. Can anyone believe someone actually voted for this woman?

And, councilwoman Ms. Robinson, if you want the crime to go down in black neighborhoods, stop defending your black criminals when they’r busted, don’t nitpick the police department and support law enforcement with every breath. When criminals know they don’t have an enabler in local office, they leave. It really is that simple.

So, in other words she wants to waste a bunch of taxpayer money having cops sitting around white neighborhoods doing nothing just to give the appearance that not all crimes happen in the black areas of town?

I think the police here should only patrol White neighborhoods.

That would be safer for the cops, eliminate racial profiling and keep White people from commiting crimes. The black neighborhoods could be left to their own tribal devises and exist in peace with no outside interference. It’s a win-win situation for everyone!!

If you want more information about violent crime in Memphis, just watch “The first 48” on A&E.

http://www.aetv.com/the_first_48/

Most every week they feature the homicide squad from Memphis and amazingly enough 99.999% of the murder and violent crime is committed by Blacks…mostly on Blacks.

And to think that Memphis is only #10 on the list for Murder and non-negligent man-slaughter Av. rate/100,000

2001 2002 2003 Per 100K
1 New Orleans 475,128 213 258 274 52.3
2 Washington, D.C.563,384 231 264 247 43.9
3 Detroit 927,766 395 402 366 41.8

Anyone want to correlate this list with the Black & Hispanic population data?

No matter. They’re all black cities, I note.

Another Memphis crime story:

“The robbers drove him around for several hours…There are only vague descriptions of the two suspects thus far. They were driving a late 90’s model, white, four-door sedan.”

That really is a pretty vague description, considering he was with the two suspects for “several hours,” and there’s no indication that he was blindfolded. The victim should have been more observant. Piercings, facial tattoos, bones through their noses, anything that might easily stand out.
