I have just returned from several weeks in Japan, and am again struck by the forceful example that country offers of the advantages of homogeneity. As the years go by, Japan’s steady record of successes stands in ever-greater contrast to America’s failures, and to its inability to think seriously about the kind of country it is becoming. Japan is not without problems, of course, and some are disconcerting by our standards. But the Japanese have a much better chance than we do of surviving into the next century as a coherent, prosperous nation with a culture and civilization it can unmistakably call its own.
Japan is one of the most homogeneous countries on earth. Ethnic Japanese make up 98.5 percent of the population, followed by Koreans and Chinese at 0.5 and 0.4 percent. The largest non-Japanese populations are, therefore, from closely related races and are visually indistinguishable from the majority. Wherever you go in Japan, you are likely to see Japanese and only Japanese.
Japan is at the same time a sound refutation of the view that homogeneity means dull uniformity. (This is the implication, of course, of the common assertion that immigrants have livened up the United States, saving it, presumably, from the suffocating sameness of whiteness.) Japan has as much variety—cultural, esthetic, culinary—as anyone could want. Whether it is clothing styles, amateur orchestras, motorcycle clubs, art exhibits, restaurants or museums, visitors are struck by the rich variety of Japanese life. There are endless ways to be Japanese. Thus, traditional Japanese instruments like the koto and shamisen have never been more popular, but Japan also produces internationally-known classical musicians. In addition to its own sports like sumo or judo, Japan has mastered baseball to the point that it sends Japanese stars to the major leagues.
American orthodoxy about immigration and diversity suggests that a country could not have opera without a colony of Italians, or golf and Scotch whiskey without Scots. Japan proves that a country can open itself to what it considers the best foreign influences while shutting out foreign people. Japan therefore has first-rate opera without Italians, jazz without blacks, heavy metal without Brits and some of the best “Western” science and technology without Westerners. What Japan does not have is “honor killings,” voodoo, MS-13, bilingualism or racial tension, and it will never have these things if it keeps to its current no-immigration policy.
We are told over and over that immigration is an inevitable consequence of world travel, of a shrinking globe, and that without big doses of foreigners a country cannot be truly international or participate in the global economy. Again, Japan proves this is nonsense. It is a full participant in everything from the G8 Conference of industrialized nations to Rotary International. It is a considerably more successful participant than the United States in the global economy, exporting 9.7 percent of its GDP versus 7.8 percent for us, and registering a trade surplus of $168 billion in 2006 as opposed to our staggering deficit of $836 billion. Anyone who told the Japanese they would improve their trade balance or understand the world better if they would only let in a million Puerto Ricans or Haitians would be politely escorted to the nut hatch. Japanese believe they are entirely capable of handling their affairs themselves.
It is important to realize, however, that the fruits of homogeneity are profoundly different for the Japanese than they would be for, say, the Yoruba or the Cherokee, who could probably have been left homogeneous for centuries without emerging from the state in which Europeans found them (see next article, Can ‘Diversity’ Ever be Good?”). International testing has repeatedly shown that Japanese have a very high average IQ—three to five points above the European average—and any society they build will reflect this. But if homogeneity brings out a group’s most characteristic traits, what characterizes the Japanese?
Japanese behave in many ways as they and other North Asians do in the United States. Japan has, for example, one of the lowest rates of violent crime in the world. The murder rate is approximately one tenth that of the United States (about 0.5 murders per 100,000) and the robbery rate is on the order of one 150th (about one per 100,000). Japanese, both in Japan and in the United States, have lower rates of violent crime even when compared only to white Americans, and although it is not easy to get accurate statistics, violent crime rates for Japanese are essentially the same whether they live in Japan, where there is very tight gun control, or in the US, where guns are plentiful.
(Interestingly, of all the foreign groups living in Japan, Africans are the most crime prone, with rates considerably above the native Japanese rate. Europeans and Americans commit the least crime, with rates below native Japanese rates. Africans and whites resident in Japan are much better behaved than the averages for their groups back in their native countries, because Japan is careful about whom it lets in, even temporarily. This keeps crime rates for resident or transient whites—but not for blacks—lower even than the very low native Japanese rate. Even the tiny number of carefully selected blacks living in Japan are still the most crime-prone group in the country.)
At the same time, Japanese police are good at solving the small number of violent crimes Japanese commit: 95 percent of murders and 75 percent of robberies, compared to 65 percent and 25 percent in the United States. Police do not have to worry about some groups refusing to cooperate with the police for fear of being called “snitches.” Japan has crime syndicates called yakuza, but they mainly run gambling, prostitution, and protection rackets. Yakuza touch ordinary people’s lives about as much as the cosa nostra touches ordinary Americans.
The net effect for Japanese society is that there is essentially no place at no time that is or feels unsafe. Even if a huge crowd of young people were let out of a rock concert late at night, passersby might think they were a little boisterous, but no one would feel afraid.
Japanese are therefore much less security-conscious than Americans. There are no neighborhoods in which drivers nervously lock their car doors. Even in big cities, no one has triple locks on his doors, and doorman-security buildings are more status symbol than necessity. There are flowerbeds in public places where they would be torn up in any American big city. In the US, restrooms in subways were locked up decades ago because bums, loonies, and psychopaths lived in them. In Japan, public restrooms are plentiful and safe.
Japanese still trust each other the way small-town Americans used to trust each other. It rained one day during a recent stay in Osaka. When the bellhop at my hotel leant me an umbrella he didn’t even ask for my room number; he took it for granted I would bring the umbrella back.
Perhaps one of the most striking examples of Japanese respect for the law and for each other was the aftermath of the Great Hanshin Earthquake of 1995. This was a major quake that killed more than 6,400 people, and caused property damage worth about 2.5 percent of Japan’s gross domestic product that year, making it one of the most costly natural disasters in history. The deaths were not scattered around the country but were concentrated in Kobe, a major port city with a population of 1.5 million. Not only were there no reports of looting, there was a huge outpouring of private and corporate volunteerism, and even the Yamaguchi-gumi yakuza mobilized to help distribute food. There would have been very ugly scenes in any major American city if a disaster killed thousands, paralyzing the authorities.
Still, what probably first strikes a visitor from America is the sense that Japan is simply more advanced than the US. There are many things that contribute to this impression, but some of the most important are that everything seems to work, everything is clean, everything is orderly, everything spruce and tidy. Even the international airports by which most people arrive in Japan are cleaner and more efficient than Kennedy, Dulles, or San Francisco. The personnel are quietly competent, luggage shows up quickly, and there are helpful signs in several languages to guide you through customs.
But it is outside the air terminal that the impression of Japanese superiority gains force. The taxis are sparklingly clean, driven by courteous, well-dressed Japanese—unlike the battered hulks driven by loutish immigrants that turn up at most American airports. Buses that serve the airports are spotless, and leave on time, practically to the second. As the traveler continues on his way, this impression of efficiency, cleanliness, and competence only grows.
It is almost impossible to find loose garbage in Japan, graffiti, broken sidewalks or tumble-down buildings. There are practically no vacant, overgrown lots, and hardly anything that could be called a slum. By American standards, it is as if the entire country were manicured, with every square foot tidied and cared for. It is almost impossible to find a beat-up old car. Japanese keep cars clean, and have dents repaired after minor accidents. In probably no other country are roads more carefully and meticulously marked with turning lanes and crossings, or equipped with so many guardrails and pedestrian over- and underpasses.
There are no potholes in Japan. For some years on trips there—even into the countryside—I have looked hard for potholes, and there is none to be found. On the island of Shikoku, the smallest of the four main islands, I recently asked a man in the construction business about potholes. He told me crews keep the roads patched up or resurfaced, and if a crack in the pavement gets any wider than about half an inch, the local people call city hall to complain.
It is not as though white people are incapable of taking care of a country the way the Japanese do. Scandinavia and parts of Northern Europe are said to have the same meticulous sheen, but I have no first-hand experience.
Japanese are completely unprepared for some of the rougher aspects of American urban reality. One day last summer I was with a carload of Japanese on their way to the federal courthouse in Trenton, the capital of New Jersey. Trenton is so heavily black that the governor doesn’t even live there. As we rolled through blasted neighborhoods the Japanese’ eyes got bigger and bigger. It was a hot day, and Trentonians of both sexes were sitting on the curb, dressed and coiffed in their uniquely colorful way, expressing themselves energetically. The Japanese were shaking their heads. “There is nothing like this in Japan,” one said in a low voice. If this was diversity, they weren’t interested.
That day, I learned there is no good Japanese expression for “abandoned building.” There are words for “rundown building” or “untenanted building,” but Japanese just don’t leave a building empty and boarded up. Land is too valuable for that and, besides, it would be an eyesore.
As befits a truly developed country, Japan has what must be the most beautiful manhole covers in the world. Many cities have a famous local scene forged into them. Osaka’s covers depict Osaka Castle, and the nearby town of Minoh, which is famous for its waterfall and autumn foliage, shows the falls as seen through maple leaves. Perhaps most astonishing, many manhole covers are painted pretty colors. The colors eventually scuff off, leaving bare metal, but someone must come around every so often and freshen up the paint job. Every manhole cover pictured on this page is colored.
Japan abounds in little efficiencies. Perhaps because so few people would ever break into them, everything from train tickets to beer to hot noodles to umbrellas to fish bait is sold in automatic vending machines. Most machines take credit cards, and make change for bills.
One efficiency Americans would do well to copy is small automobiles. There is an entire class of small vehicles zipping around Japan with engines of only 0.66 liters, the maximum displacement to enjoy the most favorable tax treatment. The smallest car engine in the United States is 1.5 liters, and the smallest truck engine is 2.3 liters. “Light” vehicles, as they are called, get almost 60 miles to the gallon, and come in a huge variety of four-seater sedans, two-seater sport models, and whole lines of minivans and pickups. They are an enormously cost-effective way to make small deliveries or get around town, but have power enough to reach highway speeds. The occasional American-style SUV, camper van, or pickup truck one occasionally sees looks like an irradiated monster.
Japan probably has the densest, most efficient network of railroads and subways of any country in the world, and a place like the United States that has committed itself to roads has no chance of matching it. But just as striking are the extensive underground shopping areas in major cities. Even on sunny days, the streets of downtown Kobe and Osaka can seem oddly quiet, and when it rains they are almost empty. Beneath the streets is an ocean of humanity surging past miles of commercial outlets, skipping traffic lights and avoiding the rain.
People
Behind all this efficiency, of course, is the Japanese people, who by keeping out alien populations, have maintained complete control over their society. To the Western eye, they are physically homogeneous, with the same black hair, dark eyes, and olive skin. But there is a different and more pleasant homogeneity that goes beyond racial traits. Almost no Japanese are overweight, for example, and the occasional fatty is nothing like the waddling colossi one finds among the American lower classes of all races.
Japanese also dress much better than Americans. There is a stylishness about them that seems to recoil from the baggy-shorts-and-T-shirt regimen common in America. If you see someone dressed like a bum, it is probably an American.
Even in uniform, American police officers or TSA baggage screeners may be fat or sloppy-looking. Blacks and Hispanics, especially, often show a slouching kind of contempt for their jobs. Japanese bustling about in their trim uniforms almost never give this impression.
Physical beauty is subjective, but many Westerners think that even if Japanese women never achieve the breath-taking beauty of European models or movie stars, they have a high average level of attractiveness. Staying slim and dressing stylishly have a lot to do with it.
At the same time, Japanese have a spirit of service and attentiveness that is rare in Americans. As in any country, levels of service vary with the price and elegance of the establishment, but Japanese almost never treat each other with the obvious indifference common in America. Japanese waiters or sales personnel hurry to help you, welcome you with smiles, and apologize for any inconvenience. Americans are surprised to find there is no tipping in Japan. Japanese rush to serve you because that is their job. In a way, they have no choice; Japanese consumers expect first-rate service, and will not patronize a store or restaurant that doesn’t give it.
I recently fell into a conversation with a Japanese who works as a flight attendant on trans-Pacific flights for United Airlines. I told her it might not be polite to say so, but that service is always much better on the All Nippon Airways flights that are sometimes offered as United codeshares. Of course it is, she said. What would you expect? Japanese are always thinking of how to please the customer while Americans watch the clock and do the minimum.
Japan has one of the highest standards of living of any country. Figures for life expectancy, infant mortality, literacy, etc., are some of the most impressive in the world. Income distribution is usually cited as the most equitable of any industrialized country, with most Japanese describing themselves as middle class. While the average Japanese chief executive of a publicly-traded company gets about $400,000 a year, the average German gets about $800,000, and the average American CEO gets one to four million. Japanese stockholders would not allow salaries at that level.
Japan is certainly not a paradise. Wealth and modernity seem to have the same socially corrosive effect on the Japanese as on other people. Although they are still at small fractions of American rates, crime, divorce, and illegitimacy are up. Japan does not produce the “Child Drowns in Mother’s Vomit”-type of headline that sometimes bubbles up from the American underclass, but it has begun to have the occasional rape/murder/mutilation that would have been unheard-of 30 or 40 years ago.
Japan also has its own peculiar problems probably found nowhere else. Japanese have long had what seem to Westerners a juvenile attitudes towards sex. Many men, for example, like to grope women on crowded trains and subways. The problem is so bad that on some notorious lines there are separate cars for women at rush hour.
The Internet has spawned disturbing trends. Some unknown number of men who live with their parents have stopped coming out of their rooms. They watch television and read, but mostly they stare at the computer screen. Worried parents can’t get them to look for a job, or even come out for meals. They leave trays of food by the door, and see their sons only when they come out to use the bathroom.
The Internet has also added a gruesome touch to Japan’s high suicide rates. Japanese men kill themselves at a rate of about 36 per 100,000 compared to the US rate of about 17 (more than 70 per 100,000 Russian and Lithuanian men kill themselves each year). Japanese men and women (women in all countries kill themselves less often than men) have started meeting each other on the Internet to arrange group suicide. Japanese, who genrally prefer to do things in groups, seem to like company even as they die. A Japanese news story from 2004 reported 26 such Internet-arranged group suicides in just a two-month period.
At the same time, some of Japan’s advantages do not reflect anything special about the Japanese but stem from the mere fact of homogeneity. At the most obvious level, all Japanese speak the same language and therefore understand each other. They expect anyone living in Japan to learn Japanese. They would not dream of “bilingual” education or sending interpreters to PTA meetings or offering tests for drivers licenses in foreign languages.
Racial homogeneity means Japan has none of the oppressive machinery America has instituted to cope with “diversity.” It has no civil rights commissions, equal employment offices, or diversity consultants. Japanese never yelp about discrimination when something goes wrong, and never sue employers for “racism.” There is no racial tension, race riots, or hate laws. No one gets in trouble because the board of directors is all Japanese or because all the faces on television are Japanese. Nobody complains about “profiling” when the police pat down the most likely trouble-makers. No one is ever fired because he said something “insensitive” or told a forbidden joke or used a forbidden slur. Elections are about politics, not about whether Hispanics or blacks are taking over. Voting districts can have logical geograpahic boundaries, because no one worries about whether black or Hispanic votes are being diluted. There are no ethnic or national minorities that meddle with Japan’s foreign policy. Any number of hugely vexing and intractable problems are simply absent from Japan.
Because of their similarity in outlook and background, Japanese tend to have similar expectations of others. Traditionally, when Japanese companies did business with each other, lawyers didn’t get involved. Businessmen sat down together and wrote out the terms under which they would do business. Often, at the end of a contract, where Americans would specify which courts would have jurisdiction in case of a dispute, Japanese would write that if there were a disagreement, the parties would meet, and resolve it. This worked because Japanese have a broadly similar sense of what is right, and of how to handle unexpected problems. Japanese companies with extensive dealings overseas have adopted some of the legalisms typical of American business, but Japanese life is still governed far more by custom, manners, and common expectations than by law.
Homogeneity in Japan also squeezes out most of the tremendous variation in schools that is now common in America. Japan has nothing like the typical American big-city public school, with its unmotivated mob of blacks and Hispanics, it’s dreary record of violence and failure, its futile round of new gimmicks that are supposed to teach the unteachable. Japan has well-regarded private schools at all grade levels, and elite universities that get the best students, but the spread of abilities in Japanese institutions is usually not broad enough to justify either gifted programs or “special” education. Virtually all Japanese are literate and do math. If the cash register breaks down, they can make quick and accurate change, unlike the people at Burger King who would be stumped if you paid for a 17-cent item with a quarter.
One result is that many mid-level technical jobs that would require a college degree in the US are filled with high school graduates. There are demanding national standards for a high school diploma, and just about everyone manages to meet them.
Interestingly, homogeneity does not produce in Japan one of the results it is credited with in Europe. Among white people, the more homogenous the country, the more willing people appear to be to support welfare. The theory—quite plausible—is that citizens are less resistant to paying more taxes if the handouts go to people like themselves. The welfare state went the farthest in the then-homogenous countries of Scandinavia and Northern Europe, suggesting that this may be the kind of society wealthy whites are inclined to build.
Japan, by European standards, has niggardly social services. This is not because Japanese are rugged individualists—they are very group oriented—but because the family has traditionally been the safety net. The extended family looked after old people, took in drunks, reared orphans, and gave a hand to relatives down on their luck. It would shame the entire clan if a family member went on the dole. For this reason, despite its homogeneity and sense of service, Japan has almost no tradition of private or public charity.
As Japan grew rich and urban, it tended to atomize. Family ties weakened. There are now drunks and bums in some public parks, who build rather elaborate homes for themselves out of cardboard boxes. This sort of thing has prompted both more government services and more private charity. But even the layabouts and winos are unmistakably Japanese. If they ask for money they do so very politely, and if you peer into a cardboard house, the owner is likely to be absorbed in a copy of a literary magazine that he fished out of the trash.
For decades after the end of the Second World War, Japanese looked up to the United States as the superior power that had defeated them in the Pacific. They had an almost servile admiration for things American. Not anymore. Many Japanese realize that, in many respects, they have a better country than we do. They envy us our continent-sized country and our raw materials, but they no longer see us as a model for much of anything.
When Japanese who live in the United States get together, talk often turns to horror stories about life among the natives: the dealer that couldn’t fix the brand-new Chevrolet, the perpetually broken sidewalk in front of the office, the slovenly habits of American employees, the child who was beaten up for lunch money, and endless stories of bad service. It sounds like the complaints I heard years ago from whites living in West Africa—the inevitable comparisons people from countries with high standards make when they live in a country with low standards.
Japanese are not blind to the fact that non-whites are a big part of the problem. They have not been brainwashed since childhood about racial equality, and know very well that not all groups are the same. Back in 1994, when The Bell Curve had just appeared, I was reading it during breaks while working with some Japanese clients. They had heard of the book, and asked me to tell them about it. I spent several minutes giving them the gist: that IQ is real, is heritable, and correlates strongly with social success—that there are substantial racial differences in average IQ, which are almost certainly partly genetic. When I was finished my three or four clients looked at each other quizzically, and one asked, “Doesn’t everyone know that?”
I have never met a Japanese who is shocked at the idea of racial differences in IQ, or who thinks blacks and Hispanics are good for America. In an extended conversation about race and immigration, they may at first suggest that high-IQ Asian immigrants are good for the country, but quickly see why whites would want to keep the country white. They understand racial loyalty and the benefits of homogeneity, and often ask why everyone in America doesn’t think as I do.
Perhaps it is because so few Americans visit Japan. On my most recent trip, I went with clients who had never been to Japan before. They marveled at the safety, the cleanliness, the efficiency, the cheerful service. After two weeks, I asked them if they missed black people. They looked at each other sheepishly; no, they didn’t miss black people at all. How about Mexicans? No they didn’t miss them, either. I asked why they thought anyone would ever claim “diversity” is America’s greatest strength. This completely stumped them.
It is because Japanese instinctively understand the dangers of diversity that there is essentially no immigration to Japan, despite an average lifetime fertility rate of 1.23 that is so low the Japanese population has begun to shrink. There are a few prominent people who talk as if waves of Pakistanis and Indonesians will solve the population problem, but most Japanese know better. Even if they haven’t seen for themselves what Third-World immigration has done to the United States, they know what it would do to Japan. They want Japan to stay Japanese, even if it means a shrinking population and high labor costs.
That is one reason Japan invests so heavily in mechanization and robotics; machines are cheaper than people. Japanese are already one of the oldest populations in the world, and will only get older. Who will run the retirement homes? Some already have special robots that lift people in and out of wheelchairs and baths. Japanese would rather pay for machinery than depend on foreigners. This is another reason for vending machines: they free people for other jobs.
This is not to say that there are no illegal immigrants. Men work on construction sites and women in the prostitution/entertainment business. Labor is too tight for even the Japanese to keep out everyone who wants to come, but the problem is nothing like that in the United States, and shows little sign of getting worse.
The Japanese government is also trying to persuade people to have more children, though not with much success. Every tiny uptick in birthrates gets enthusiastic press coverage, but Japan’s young people want to have fun, not babies. This leads to high wages for young workers, delayed retirements, and attractive salaries for older people who return to work. Shrinking school districts are consolidating, and rural villages that can no longer support their own government services are merging. Universities compete for students in surprising ways. Fukuoka University in southern Japan advertises the spa-like baths and karaoke rooms in its dormitories.
I have never met a Japanese who is shocked at the idea of racial differences in IQ, or who thinks blacks and Hispanics are good for America.
No nation has yet learned how to revive flagging birthrates, so for the foreseeable future Japan’s population may be destined to shrink, but if any nation can figure out how to decline gracefully, it will be the Japanese. Black humorists like to calculate how many centuries it will take before Japan’s declining population will drop to zero—when the Japanese people finally go extinct—but Japan is determined to stay Japanese as long as it possibly can.
I recently stumbled onto a one-man show of lacquer products made for the tea ceremony. The artist was there, and we fell into conversation. There was a corner of the gallery set aside for making the bitter, frothy, bright green tea for the ceremony, and he called for two servings. We turned the bowls the ritual three times in our hands to admire the workmanship—my host had made them, after all—and drank our tea. A smile played across the man’s face. “When I drink tea like this,” he said, “I can’t help but think how lucky I am to have been born Japanese.”
It has probably never occurred to this man to wonder whether his great-grandchildren will be anything but pure-bred Japanese. I’m sure he is confident that whatever happens, his descendants—and his country—will be unmistakably his. He has every reason to be confident that many generations from now, his people will taste that bitter green tea and feel lucky they were born Japanese.

This article must be one of the powerful refutations of multiculturalism and the need for Third World immigration I have read. What I am interested in is how the Japanese have managed to avoid having succumbed to the disease? If we knew that then perhaps we would have another weapon against the disease that is destroying our countries. Perhaps white people are simply genetically prone to self destruction, but I do not find that a convincing argument.

Feminism is the cause of declining birthrates.
Reverse that, and you reverse the problem.

“are viibly indistinguishable from the majority…”
We not be able to tell a Japanese from a Korean but I`m just betting that at least the Japanese can.

Great article Jared. It however makes me quite sad at the fact that America will never have what Japan does, with the exception of future white enclaves. What I do find interesting is the seeming fascination the Japanese have with black “culture”? You can always find Japanese tourists at the Apollo in Harlem or at black baptist church services and hip hop clubs. I can also tell you I have had arguments with Japanese who act much like white limousine liberals. That is until I ask them if they would like to have 5% of our black population emigrate to Japan. That is when they usually change the subject.

My favorite part of this story is the part about how Japanese politics are truly about politics, not about which race rules over which race on behalf of which race. If the USA were homogeneously white, these Presidential elections in 2008 would be ones where cutting edge political issues are: (1) Should the marginal income tax rate on high incomes be 34% or 35%? (2) How deep should the pavement be on interstate highways? 11 inches, or 12 inches? (3) Should the fine for a radio station owner that uses more than the legally alloted transmitter power be $10,000, or $20,000?
You get the drift.

I always admired Japan for the fact that it’s currently the only 1st world industrialized-high IQ country present in the world that has protected herself from mass immigration of 3rd world uncivilized invaders. As a result, Japan could preserve her culture and ethnical homogenity, and the accompanied positive side effects like safety and morality. I’ve read that racial profiling is not illegal in Japan, which is frequently applied at airports.
But the only thing I fear about Japan is how long can she hold a strong resistance against UN and the human rights commissions which are both run by jihadophile leftist liberals and so called cultural marxists? They will not miss the opportunity to put a tremendous pressure on Japan and to convince her of the benefits of diversity. From some sources, I’ve read that Bangladeshis begin to settle in Japan. Does someone know more about that?
However, I hope there are Japanese readers on this site, who realize how lucky Japan is right now having no Africans/Muslims/Mexicans in their country. Oh, I also think that being an Island state makes it a lot easier for Japan to keep invaders out.
Arigatoo gozaimasu for reading and listening!

What a paradise compared to America and all the other once-White Nations of today……Seems the Japanese really did win the war in the way it really counts, didn’t they?
How can we all just let America go into the abyss without lifting a finger to stop it? Make all 1965 Immigration Law null and void as of today. All who came need to go back to their own lands and build up their own societies and let us do the same. There is no such thing as a multiracial country. It isn’t a country, it is a landfill.

Criminality is part of the genetic make-up of the black. Even very small numbers in Japan cannot behave.
I am jealous of the tea-drinker at the end of the article. He is indeed, very lucky.

Yep, I agree with this article. When I traveled in Japan and Korea, I was shocked at how everyone looked and behaved in the same manner. Then after a while, I got used to it and wished that we were like that here in the US. There are no angry blacks trying to bludgeon money out of others nor illiterate peasant hispanics trying to serve me with a bad attitude. This would be paradise but I doubt it will ever happen here.

It looks like the Japanese sense of homogeneity is beginning to break down.

The part about finding cuisine and culture from all over the world in a homogenous society brings back a memory.
I thought I’d show an Asian friend something new and took her to Little Italy to an Italian restaurant thinking that she’d enjoy trying a new type of food. When we got there she knew more than I about Italian food.
That diversity was overrated wasn’t a surprise, but I’d always thought it at least added to cuisine.

Dear God, I am as envious of Japan and the Japanese society as when I first read this riveting contribution from Jared. It makes the unending treason by our “elites” to this nation and our Western European brethren all that much more palpable.
Like so much else, I wish I had the power to make this required reading for every White American. This compelling homogeneous Japanese reality is a nuclear weapon against the diversity fanatics and their LIES.
Owing to the fact that the Japanese weren’t duped into allowing mass immigration from other ethnicities (including those responsible for our own mass third-world immigration) is a testiment to their superior intelligence.
This article made me think of a simple, but powerful post by someone on a story about “How Much Will You Pay To Live Near People Like You?” some time back which I would love to repost if AmRen will oblige:
“I would rather work as a dishwasher and be working class in a healthy white nation than be wealthy in a country in which whites are a minority. However, if I did live in a country in which whites are a minority, I would prefer to be filthy rich. This would be the only way to avoid the dangers of diversity. I would give up my investment banking job in a heartbeat, to wash dishes in a healthy white nation.

“Many Japanese realize that, in many respects, they have a better country than we do. They envy us our continent-sized country and our raw materials, but they no longer see us as a model for much of anything.”
Interestingly, given the high rates of suicide in Japan, they have never embraced our example of national suicide? Well, they have a lot to learn and atone for there; how dare they indulge in their “Japanese privileged,” so wantonly? Do they not grasp, that collective national suicide with altruistic sanctimony for parasitical Third World “wonders” is far more superior, than the selfish individualized kind?
Maybe, we need to destroy Hiroshima and Nagasaki again, so that they really learn how to be “responsible” citizens of the world this time, and not an ethnocentric and xenophobic bastion of intolerance?
Did they learn nothing from their “racist” follies in World War II?

Interesting, Japan has many good things, one thing it does not, however have, is Japanese girls that want to have babies with Japanese men.
It has been estimated that in 2050, over 40% of Japan’s population will be senior citizens. That means no one to perform hundreds of thousands of jobs, or, pay into the tax base. Japan as we know it will either allow immigration or die slowly. One value of the dark-skinned hordes is that they encourage the local girls to have sex, and half-caste Japanese are better than none at all.
The Japanese (as well as Korean and Chinese) girls that I have known are underwhelmed by their males almost to the point of revoltion.
It seems as though first world societies must pick their poison; allow immigration and have it’s problems cause the death of society, or do not allow it and face the same.

Koreans, Chinese and Japanese are not indistinguishable, they are not as different as blacks and whites, yet, probaly close to Slavs, French, and Spaniards. Koreans are the most attractive Northern Asians (to a Korean eye) by far, Japanese would generally not be considered attractive to most whites. The recent picture M. Butterfly was a good example of this, as the American producers caused a huge uproar by casting all Chinese in the female parts that were written for Japanese. Korean males are also much taller.

“In an extended conversation about race and immigration, they may at first suggest that high-IQ Asian immigrants are good for the country, but quickly see why whites would want to keep the country white. They understand racial loyalty and the benefits of homogeneity, and often ask why everyone in America doesn’t think as I do.”
Frankly, having read a considerable amount of Mr. Taylor’s writings, I personally find this to be one of the best articles he has ever written. Only “The Racial Revolution” in the May 1999 issue of AR, surpasses it in: wit, logic, and pertinence. In some respects, it might even be viewed as better, since it is asking us to look at our collective dogmatic stupidity and weakness as a race through the eyes of others, who refuse to accept madness as sanctifying. Moreover, the achievements and social stability of a Japan for the Japanese only, when contrasted to a chaotic and declining USA “enriched” by global “migrants” and “refugees,” is more than enough to give one a case of retrospective reproach regarding the 1960s through only yesterday.
It suffices to say, that we cannot change what happened yesterday, let alone the decades between it and the 1960s. However, we can learn from those mistakes made and not repeat them; we may not be the country that was 89% white back then, but there is nothing stopping us from preserving our 65% majority and increasing it back to 89% or greater in the future. That is the beauty of this article’s subtle message, that a nation we utterly defeated in a war, now has something to teach us. It is a lesson we shouldn’t have to learn, but we do; ironically, given the nature of our war with Japan and its Axis allies in which we were preserving our way of life against the predatory and violent, it becomes all the more an incongruous student and teacher exercise.
What would Commodore Perry or even General MacArthur, have to say about that? I don’t know; however, reminding them like Brutus, that it is not the stars but ourselves where the fault lies, might mollify any of their harsher rebukes?
That, or a trip to first Tokyo and then Detroit?
As always, God help us all!

Northeast Asians incapable of being creative? All their kids do is excel in physics, engineering, and math at school and grow up to be uncreative people?
This is the one gripe from us Americans that irks me to no end. We think the Northeast Asians are incapable of creativity. We Americans think the Northeast Asians are just ‘copycat drones’ who can’t invent and aren’t creative.
Do we ever travel? Do we ever see what Jared has already seen by simply visiting a Northeast Asian country?
We can sit on our hands and close our eyes and repeat our little mantra about how uncreative the Northeast Asians are and how they are just copycats while the Japanese just leave us in the dust as they go on innovating into the future from things like robot suits to credit card cell phones.
They’re years ahead of America as far as technology is concerned and they got that way by being ridiculously advanced innovators in every field from medicine to robotics; and as far as a superior general population, is there any question which country’s at the top when the United States of America may possibly get an AFRICAN man to become its president?
An AFRICAN president of the USA?
What’s that sound?
Oh, it’s nothing. It’s just the muffled, discreet laughter from our Japanese neighbors across the ocean.

“…of all the foreign groups living in Japan, Africans are the most crime prone…”
One of the worst things the U.S. has done to Japan (as elsewhere) is maintain a military presence there, thereby bringing with it a large black presence, with horrific consequences for the native peoples: As a typical example, remember the three black servicemen who kidnapped that 12 year old Japanese school girl as she walked to school and gang raped her? The media will never say but the main factor behind mass protests against U.S. military presence in Japan and elsewhere (Korea, Philipians, etc.) has been the crime and violence and sexual predation by the black U.S. servicemen. For this reason alone we should WITHDRAW OUR TROOPS FROM AROUND THE WORLD.

This article is a masterpiece.
Maybe Japan is the “shining city on a hill” rather than the USA. I hope they can survive some of their in house weaknesses; low birth rate, tendency not to question authority, monetary corruption. And they must be ever vigilant in staving off the disease of marxism. I’d love to inject a bit of libertarianism into that culture.
On another note, when Mr. Taylor wrote, “Black humorists like to calculate”, I assume this was metaphorically and not literally.

I agree with you 100%. Japan is one of the richest and most advanced nations on earth. With the almost two-decades old collapse of the USSR, there is no reason why the Japanese cannot look after themselves. TIME INDEED TO BRING THE TROOPS HOME. Ditto with South Korea. We should also tell Taiwan that we regard its quarrel with China as a foreign affair and we have no intention of doing anything to interfere. This “in your face” China policy (Military SpyPlanes flying over Hainan island, carrier battle groups sailing through the Taiwan straits) will only lead to disaster. How would Americans like it if Chinese warplanes were flying 13 miles off the coast of Oregon? How would Americans like it if Chinese aircraft carriers were sailing between Florida and Cuba? How would Americans like it if Iran had invaded Mexico (supposedly because of Mexican weapons of mass destruction but really to grab that country’s oil) and had it’s aircraft and warships operating just off the coast of Texas where the refineries are? And then had the Chutzpah to accuse America of being an ‘axis of evil’ country and guilty of “provocation” against Iran? How would Americans like it if Serbian warplanes bombed their cities and towns and killed them for 78 days just like the U.S. did to Serbia, a country that was no threat to America in any possible way? Sometimes I think America learned absolutely nothing from the tragedy of the Vietnam war. We have another Chickenhawk Texan for president who lied us into an agrressive war not in our national interests. How many young Americans have to die before America abandons it’s foolish interventionist foreign policies and returns to being the republic the Founding Fathers intended it to be? How many? Most Americans tend to be unilingual, self-absorbed and don’t travel overseas much and thus have no real idea how despised they are around the world.

The only hope America has to return to it’s greatness is to STOP COMPLETLY the bleeding of masses of Third World populations onto our shores and borders. This would mean a repeal of the distincted anti-white, Teddy Kennedy-backed Immigration Act of 1965. Despite his reassurances to the contrary, it DID INDEED change (and is continuing to change internally, due to their much higher differential birthrate) our demographics. He knew that when he lied to the American people. He recently proposed such liberal immigration policies as the amnesty he wanted for our now resident illegal alien population. (It now numbers well over 20 million.) The White House phone system was shut down (electronically disenabled) due to the swamping of anti-amnesty callers on the day the bill was be voted.
An Obama presidency would change this country so drastically in 4 years that it would possibly take at least three conservative presidencies to recover. With our present ever-darkening demographic - who overwhemly vote Democratic - sadly, this may be an impossibility and ultimately be the beginning of the unraveling of our powerful White-built and engineered country.

I backpacked through Asia and Europe in the early 1990s. I can confirm Jared’s observation that Japan is probably one of the cleanest, politest countries in the world.
I remember staying in a capsule room in Tokyo. It was used by men who were obviously blue collar workers. However I could not believe how clean and tidy they kept the place; the toilets and bathing areas were immaculate and the workers were fastidious in their attention to personal hygiene. There was no bad body odor and no bad attitude. I once left my bag with passport and cash behind in a busy Tokyo bar. I returned several hours later and it had been left untouched. Tokyo has great restaurants - the food fantastic, the service top-notch and not a sign of grime anywhere.
People were friendly and would always be willing to provide directions when asked, and in many cases go out of their way to guide you to your destination.
Even the countryside in Japan has a sheen to it. Not many people realize that a crowded island like Japan still has many unspoilt natural areas. Hokkaido in the winter was especially beautiful.
I did see some slack-jawed middle-eastern looking types hanging around some of Tokyo’s public parks. But these were few in a country overwhelmingly Japanese. I cannot say anything that Jared has not already said but truly - the advantages of homogeneity over diversity are simply so staggering that anyone who believes otherwise surely does need to be escorted to the ‘nut hatch.’

Very good article. I’ve lived in Japan for two years and never had any fear for my safety at any hour day or night. I did find THEIR culture to be somewhat stifling and restrictive, but everything is relative, just as blacks find OUR culture to be too strict and subsequently end up in our prisons. People of various races, even white races need to segregate to keep the peace. And within those societies that are segregated from other races, provisions should be made for autonomy from society ie.fair and decent property rights (good fences make good neighbors). This is not atomisation but respect for true diversity which is the individual at the basic level, moving up to family and then race/country. Societies with that type of organisation, will be fair, just, and above all harmonious.

Aside from the obvious, there’s another negative about getting old here in the 21st Century.
In this case it involves those of us born in the 50’s and 40’s. The problem is that we can easily recall an American wonderland when Western virtues were practiced and honored, and White values were the mainstream.
At the risk of becoming too schmaltzy for our younger readers, it was a heckuva great time and place to grow up. Even though there was ethnic heterogeneity, only one way of life was acceptable in the public forum (school, social activities and norms, media) and at home.
We were raised to melt into the culture and not to make the culture fit our selfish ways. It made us better than we might have wanted to be.
How parents of the future will reclaim those grand days of yore I simply don’t know. The horses got out of the barn in the late 60’s and 70’s and have been galloping to their own ceadences ever since.
Ask anyone in his late 50’s or older what they see for the future and it ain’t pretty. We take grim solace in the fact that we won’t be here to witness even more degradation.
I’d like to have the sunny optimism that Ronald Reagan always had but one bad omen is that there doesn’t seem to be any Reagans in the immediate political future. God help us.

Ha-ha, ha-ha, ha-no.
Look up “Nanjing anti-African protests, Decemeber 1988 - January 1989”:
*As well as resentment about the larger stipends given to African students, hostility from Chinese students towards Africans also flared up when there was contact between African men and Chinese women. In an incident in Shanghai in 1979, African students were attacked after playing loud music and consorting with Chinese women. These clashes became more common during the 1980s and sometimes led to arrests and deportations of African students. Cultural differences in dating habits added to the tensions - whereas Chinese students were expected to know each other for some time before dating, African students often asked strangers to date.* - Wikipedia.
The blacks also found this out when, a year (I believe) ago the son of an African ambassador, along with several other Africans, was arrested in an anti-crime raid - yes, the “racist!” card was well-played as well.

A great article - but could the more prosaic motivator for the zero immigration policy simply be the fact that Japan is heavily overcrowded?
Also does the Japanese attitude to immigration escape attack from charges of racism simply because it is not? After all racially indistinguishable Chinese and Koreans are no more welcome than blacks or whites.
A nation is what you inherit from your forebears. A Chinese may be racially similar to a Japanese and could even ultimately be assimilable into Japanese culture- but his ancestors did not create Japanese civilization. So you are Japanese by descent - not by racial affinity. Similar to the way you inherit wealth from your parents - extremely discriminatory - but nothing to do with race.

It’s one thing to say such a Japanese like homogeneity would be preferable for a given country, however, in regards to the United States, does anyone believe this country is entitled to such homogeneity given its history?
The United States is not Japan. European slave traders brought enslaved blacks here, and here their progeny remain today. There is also the matter of the indigenous people that were removed and or killed. I am guessing they weren’t huge fans of diversity either, given the pathogens and all.
Can someone address this. I am all ears.

” … in regards to the United States, does anyone believe this country is entitled to such homogeneity given its history?”
Though I suspect this will be hard for you to understand, there is no such thing as an “entitlement” to anything. In what is still sometimes supposed to be a “free country,” citizens and their elected officials are in theory free to enact or revoke any immigration policy whatsoever, and until 1965 every such policy was explicitly designed to maintain a European population in the United States. Why you think anyone needs a little lecture on slavery is beyond me, but we are no more obliged to any view on “diversity” by virtue of their having been slaves in the United States than any other nation is obliged to consider its practice of slavery in forming its policies. Brazil took in six times as many slaves as the US; does this fact oblige Brazil to some particular view of things? Are the Arab nations of the middle east obliged to encourage “diversity” because they were in fact the originators of the African slave trade?
The real question is why “diversity” ought to be a goal or ideal for the United States. What good is “diversity” of the racial variety? Why are Americans better off now that their neighborhoods, towns and states are becoming filthy, squalid, crime-ridden colonies of the third world?
Posted by Cassiodorus at 11:24 AM on January 20
Actually it has everything to do with race. You inherit wealth from your parents because you share the most genes in common with them. Genes - microscopic. Racial phenotype - the macroscopic expression of those genes. You need to repeat Biology 101.
You are missing the point. Your parents do not bequeath their wealth to you because you are the same race as them. You inherit your parents wealth simply because you are descended from them. You could be of mixed-race and thus differ in race from both your parents, but they would still probably favor you in their will. Race does not come into it.
So just as no one could ever say, or indeed does say, that discriminating in favor of one’s children when writing a will is racism, similarly it can be said that the Japanese do not racially discriminate in terms of immigration policy. If they did Chinese and Koreans would be welcome.
Posted by at 11:29 AM on January 20
The United States is not Japan. European slave traders brought enslaved blacks here, and here their progeny remain today. There is also the matter of the indigenous people that were removed and or killed.
Japan also had indigenous people - the Ainu. There fate was almost identical to that of our Amerinds - defeated in battle, killed off and miscegenated almost to the point of extinction. Ainu are probably about the same percentage of the Japanese population as Amerinds are of ours (not counting Mestizos of course).
In the case of blacks you have a point. But regardless of how blacks got here, the problem we are faced with right now is that it is quite obvious that we just cannot get along. So we need to find solutions. It could be a return to segregation, geographical separation, whatever. Finding solutions to the current problem should not be trammeled by constantly deferring to what happened in the past. And most of all we should not be adding to the diversity we already have.
Posted by at 11:58 AM on January 20
Jason, in my opinion: yes, the United States is absolutely so entitled, precisely because of it’s history.
Because of national sovereignty as well: the U.S. is entitled to determine what is best for it, and who (if anybody at all) is welcome to immigrate or visit. As is any nation.
The culture-displacing volume of non-white immigrants are primarily recent arrivals
(since 1965), not the descendants of black slaves. For a hundred years after the end of the period of slavery in America, the country remained very predominantly white. Even my hometown, Detroit, was still 90% white during many of those post-civil war decades.
It is certainly arguable that Japanese-like homogeneity may not be the best thing for the U.S. Centuries of strict isolationism deprived Japan of many advances enjoyed by other people in the world, and interaction with the U.S. has been vital to bringing Japan into the modern world.
(That was a much whiter America than that of today, by the way.)
Indeed, if the vaunted Japanese economy is likened to a ship, that ship sails on the immensely larger ocean that is the American economy. However, the Japanese do not plague themselves with the same sorts of problems that Americans do, and that is noteworthy.
What I wonder is, what about the racially homogeneous horror stories that are Haiti & Zimbabwe (and this week, Kenya …)?
Another good question is, what about the immensely different societies built by the Indians and the Pakistanis- a genetically single group (haplogroup R2, genetic marker M124) ?
The former prosperity of Rhodesia suggests that a small number of racially different citizens may indeed be a benefit to a country.
It remains, however, that although never so homogeneous as Japan, it was a very white America that grew from a few colonies on the east coast into a continent-spanning superpower capable of putting men on the moon.
Given this history of success, why should the progeny of those who built America be compelled to hand her over to the populations of the third world?

“Why are Americans better off now that their neighborhoods, towns and states are becoming filthy, squalid, crime-ridden colonies of the third world?”
So in other words, these squalid areas approximate the condition of what must be your mind? What the heck…
There are plenty of reasons to be against this colonization: friction, special interest groups, the racism they always direct at whites, environmental degradation, even that you don’t want them taking your women… but simply, more or less, calling immigrants names isn’t going to accomplish too much. After all, the establishments position is that all this squalor, dirt and crime can simply be cleaned up with enough affirmative action programs and understanding. Isn’t your name calling display simply proof ‘they are right’? If you need to write an extra sentence pointing out the disproportionate amount of crime being committed against whites, please do. If you must call them names, call them hate-filled or ignorant or, racists. That’s exactly what their behavior is based on and what they are encouraged to be every second of the day.
I must say, you’ve always been one of my favorite AmRen posters Cassiodorius, in the past anyway but not this time. When I was finished my three or four clients looked at each other quizzically, and one asked, “Doesn’t everyone know that?”
A funny — and telling — anecdote; in yet another superb shot across the bow from Mr. Taylor. Sir, ideology aside, you are becoming one of my favorite writers. Always a pleasure to read!
In a saner, healthier America than this one, “Doesn’t everyone know that?” would be the standard response here, too. The reason everyone knows that — even if they won’t say so in public — is that it’s COMMON SENSE!
Common sense is something the Japanese have held onto while we’ve frittered ours away on PC, AA, various large-scale feel-good schemes, and other unwise, unpopular, and (most important) UNSUCCESSFUL attempts at cooking the racial books.
Although the Japanese enjoy American movies and music, I can’t blame them at all for not wanting to buy our (multiculti) way of life wholesale. The article is right: they have nothing to learn from us. We, however, could learn a great deal from them. ————————————————————————————————
With regards to homogeneity, and whether or not the U.S. is “entitled” to it, you are essentially confusing and conflating two entirely different issues. Even if something is considered impossible, or “unfair”, politically, does not mean that it is 1) morally or factually wrong, and/or 2) undesirable.
Aside from the fact that some people simply want to live among people who look like them (and it would be wrong on some level to deny them this “right”, wouldn’t you agree?), there is plenty of evidence to suggest that societies with a high level of homogeneity do not suffer from some of the problems that afflict societies with greater diversity. When you throw groups with average lower IQ’s into the mix, social problems such as crime, poverty, and population disunity become exponentially greater and more complex. If Japan had sizeable Black and Hispanic populations, it would see some of the same patterns of crime and poverty that America experiences.
Be careful when you refer to certain historical groups or personages as being or not being “fans of diversity.” In its particular incarnation as we know it, it is a modern concept and you should not impose this manner of moral evaluation on past peoples and societies. Don’t think we’ve arrived at the end point of history, and and that, through the doctrines of diversity and multi-culturalism, we finally rightly understand how society works and what is right and wrong (in fact, to take such a view would be contradictory, as those ideologies are relativistic by nature). It is likely that hundreds of years from now people will laugh at the doctrines of multi-culturalism and diversity as unbelievably stupid, illogical, self-refuting, and destructive. They will find it hard to believe that “smart people” held such views.
Yes, yes, slavery was a terrible idea. Those who engaged in it gave no consideration to what impact it might have on future generations. The founders DID give consideration to it, but by then it was an instituation firmly entrenched in the social fabric of the colonies. They knew it was immoral and unfair, but they also knew that to unleash tens of thousands of black slaves into society would be devastating. Clearly, in their case, practical concerns for society as a whole trumped arguments for liberty.
But, back to the point. Whether or not it’s possible, likely, practical, or fair, for America to ever have the degree of homogeneity that Japan does is irrelevant. America will rise or sink in direct proportion to its degree (quantity) of diversity — and more specifically, the kind (quality) of diversity that it allows.

Jared Taylor says he and all other white people should not be held responsible for white slave ownership of blacks in the South before the Civil War and that reparations to blacks for slavery is simply absurd. After all, punishing the individual for the sins of his tribe doesn’t quite work.
Point taken.
What about good blacks? What about decent, intelligent, law-abiding, articulate, model-citizen blacks? They exist, you know. Colin Powell, Condoleeza, Barack,… etc.
If whites aren’t to be blamed for the sins of their tribe (slavery), are good blacks to be blamed for the sins of theirs (ghetto culture, high crime and violence, degredation of society)?
And Jared seems to think the Japanese are a model for America as far as racial homogeneity. He contends that racially homogenous societies are polite, law-abiding, and pleasant societies.
I ask, are we in America not free to move about whenever we feel like? Since when were we hampered by laws and regulation to have to stay in one neighborhood, one city, or even one state?
If a safe, racially homogenous community is what one desires, then simply move into one of those communities! Last I checked, Small Town, North Dakota (or South Dakota, or Montana, or Idaho, or …etc.) was still majority white.
Jared believes in freedom of association. Presto-Change-o. It’s already here, Jared. We’re free to get the heck outta Dodge if Dodge gets too dark.
(Now, securing the borders against the unlimited influx of brown hordes and making sure that there still is a white bastion to turn to should the spirit ever move one in the future is a completely different story. Fence that up, boys. And afterwards, associate with whom you please. It’s a free country.)

“European slave traders brought enslaved blacks here, and here their progeny remain today.”
Just to clarify: A HANDFUL of European slave traders purchased slaves from BLACK AFRICAN slave traders who captured, forced marched to the coast, and sold into slavery other blacks. And a small HANDFUL of the wealthiest whites in the South purchased them. The black progeny remaining today BENEFITED from the fact that their ancestors were brought here. It is non-blacks today who suffer the consequences, the vast majority of whom are not even descended from any slaveowners.

About one-seventh of blacks in the U.S. today are not descended from the pre-civil war slaves. And that percentage is increasing.

What makes you think we are blaming them? Personally, the main reason I don’t want good blacks around me is that they provide camouflage for the bad blacks.

You make some good points. However, I have some comments.
Your detailing of the problem of how or whether to hold individuals accountable for the sins of the tribe (whatever that may mean in a given context) is a very argument for homogeneity. Without diversity, there would be no dilemma when one encountered highly intelligent, successful, upstanding members of a particular ethnic group which otherwise is a burden on society as a whole: the encounter would never take place. The very fact that you feel the need to highlight the accomplishments of a Colin Powell, a Condoleeza Rice, a Barack Obama, is an implicit acknowledgement that black failure is a glaring reality and that success is the exception to the rule. You might even explicitly acknowledge this, I don’t know. In any case, as I commented on another thread, this isn’t so much about what is fair as what is expedient. The founders knew that slavery was morally wrong, and that it contradicted the principles embodied in the Constitution, but they also realized that to abolish slavery and release hordes of uneducated, low-skilled blacks into society would be devastating for the nation as a whole. Idealism has to be tempered by wisdom, common sense, and experience. But, speaking of individuals, as far as I’m concerned, an individual of any race who is a high achiever and has respect for the dominant race/culture within which he/she is living is to be welcomed, and in response to your comment, there is nothing to hold them accountable for. I’m not sure what you meant by that statement. If you mean government-sponsored discrimination of any kind, then no, I believe that is wrong and I think that is exactly what’s at the root of our problems as a society. If there was no official government ideology (i.e. the diversity gospel) and no laws on the books enforcing integration and attempting to artificially alter what nature has accomplished over the course of thousands of years (i.e. trying to achieve an egalitarian society via legislation), then I believe we’d largely solve these matters of homogeneity and diversity on our own, at the local level. On this point, yes, you’re correct — one can move to a place more suited to his or her tastes. But this ignores the larger issue of a heavy-handed federal government that has jurisdiction over the entire United States and that seems determined to alter the fabric of what was once a “White nation”. Therefore, it’s not really helpful or realistic to suggest that the *only* legitimate solution is to move to a new location if your current one becomes “too dark.” Running away from problems won’t make them go away, and the ethnic policies of the United States government *will* eventually impact those “white enclaves” you suggest whites flee to.

Yes, we can move if we WANT to, but a lot of us don’t want to leave our neighborhoods and hometowns.. Why should we HAVE to?

Right. And they’re free to pursue you whever you go. They want the government benefits, good schools, clean neighborhoods, jobs, etc. that they can’t provide for themselves. Presto-Change-O, your nice neighborhood in “New Dodge City” will soon be getting dark again.

If you go back in time to the mid-160s, the with out a doubt, the USA was seen as the technological future of mankind - and most people predicted that the USA alone of any other nation would develop the first hi-tech, space-age utopia on Earth, a civilized, science fiction type society in which most of the World’s evils were banished and life would be unimaginably sophisticated and pleasant.
After all, this was the age of the Apollo moon-shots, the rapis development of nuclear power, computing and medical advance.
But the USA stood on a cusp, and the consensus from the political class (hard-left marxists and free-market right wingers) was that the mass importation of a third world peasantry rather than the nuturing of a high-tech, high productivity economy was the way to go.
Japan chose the opposite course.
Just look at where both countries are today.

I Lived in japan for several years and concur with everything
Jared says….I have in my possesssion a book Jared wrote about Japan over years ago called `Shadows 0f the Rising Sun`
which foresaw the slowing down of the Japanese economic juggernaut.
I will say having travelled around the USA in 1987 and meeting some extremely rude white and black people (and fortunately also a few good people along the way) I found Japan to be such a contrast,…especially feeling safe to walk around at any
time anywhere and people generally being exceedingly polite
even if a bit reserved….none of the inner city tensions in the states .
That is why I believe growing numbers of educated travellers
are foresaking the USA and heading to Asia to travel, work
and live.
as an Aussie I probably had a lot more in common linguistically
and culturally with the US but as Jared has pointed out in his
excellent article there is indeed a lot we can learn from Japan and not just from a high tech point of view.

Blacks following you to Small Town, South Dakota? Please. They feel as out of place there as you or I would feel in East Oakland. We’d never venture forth into East Oakland and they’d never follow you to a nice all white town on their own (unless they themselves were good, law-abiding, upstanding blacks; and even then they’d still feel much too out of place).
BUT, the government does seem to go out of its way to help them along into places where they probably would never go on their own (Hurricane Katrina’s aftermath of black relocation all around the US, section 8 housing tickets into neighborhoods blacks would rarely be able to afford).
But for the most part, aren’t we overreacting to all of this? I mean, America is still, after all, 65% white. And yes, there are a few issues that need to be taken care of (such as staunching Mexican hemorrhaging in our southwestern states, checking and double checking border security in general).
Wait, hold the phone. As I’m writing, I’m projecting into the future. Even if we hold our borders and disallow futher ‘brownskins’ from entering, we still have a high number of Mexican/black peoples already here. Can we successfully govern them without them grasping and retaining a middling education and electing themselves to office and thereby promoting nonwhite ends? They’re already governing themselves and promoting their ends, not original white american ends. And their current populations are by all indications to increase in the future thereby further displacing the racial percentage mix of the country. I’m thinking, malignant cancer…
I started out wanting to decry the alarmists, but now I’m not so sure. They may be onto something here.

The problems of the United States can’t be blamed on black people. They were bought and shipped over against their will.
The problems of the United States can’t be blamed on Mexicans and latinos. We purposely left our borders open and undefended.
The problems of the United States CAN ONLY be blamed on one group of people: WHITE PEOPLE.
I call it, the great ‘White Weakness’.
White Weakness in a nutshell is the boundless ability in white people to see the world as we wish it would be and not as it really is.
In terms of invention and creativity, this design-oriented idealist thinking creates patents and technological revolutions (we see objects as we would like them to be, we shape according to what we envision).
In terms of human beings, this idealism creates affirmative action, no border protection from Mexico, a Martin Luther King Jr. holiday, and a plethora of other ‘all peoples are all the same’ type laws and regulations (we see non-white people as we wish they would be-all nice and wonderful and law abiding and respectful just like any other white person).
Whites created America. The inherent fatal flaw in white people, White Weakness, is now ending America.

Imagine if Japan were blessed with the benefits of diversity in the form of 12.8 million Africans. This would equate to approximately 10% of Japans population. Imagine the consequences. Could any sane person honestly think the experience would be in any way beneficial to the Japanese people?

As I read this article I kept saying to myself: common sense, common sense, common sense: the Japanese have it.
What is surreal is that common sense has been marginalized, or worse, rendered verboten in America. Horrific.

Re: Scandinavian roads.
I’ve been to Scandinavia and what you say about the streets in Japan applies there as well. They are immaculate. I was also surprised at the cleanliness of the cities. Helsinki, Finland was wonderful. They can drink openly in parks there and do so with little or no problems. Not the case in North America.
Stockholm and Gothenburg Sweden showcased the beauty of it’s past but sadly I noticed there were a number of Muslims and Africans that have creeped into that country.
Keep up the good work!

Cassiodorus, I think you misunderstood me.
You wrote:
“Though I suspect this will be hard for you to understand, there is no such thing as an ‘entitlement’ to anything.”
Well Cassiodorus, your little jab aside, I posed the idea of entitlement as a question. I asked this because the tone of Taylor’s article implies The United States is ENTITLED to such racial homogeneity. Perhaps your idea regarding the non-existence of entitlement should be addressed to him.
You also said:
“why you think anyone needs a little lecture on slavery is beyond me”
I certainly wasn’t trying to lecture anyone. I was merely demonstrating how a past institution created a present reality.
You also wrote:
“Brazil took in six times as many slaves as the US; does this fact oblige Brazil to some particular view of things? Are the Arab nations of the middle east obliged to encourage “diversity” because they were in fact the originators of the African slave trade?”
This is where your misunderstanding comes in. I never suggested or implied the United States should “encourage diversity” because of its past. I wasn’t referring to any influx of immigrants today and the policies regarding it. I was talking about the 6th, 5th and 4th generation Black Americans who are the progeny of the enslaved.
Since you put the Brazil question out there I will address it. You say Brazil took in six times as many slaves as the United States. No, this does not oblige them towards anything today. However, if some Brazilian intellectual or politician went around advocating a white racial homogeneity for Brazil, and implied Brazil was entitled to it, wouldn’t we have to inquire into Brazil’s racial history to judge whether or not they had a sound moral posture?
To Voir Dire
Thank you for the link. It’s an interesting book and history. However, it has nothing to do with my question. I wasn’t suggesting whites invented, developed or were exclusive to the practice of slavery. I was only talking about it in regards to the United States and its racial makeup.
Thank You W.D for actually addressing my question. I am here for the discourse, debate and exchange of ideas, whether I agree with people or not.

Crime rates in Japan and in particular its cities are at rates so low that Americans could only dream of.
Posted by at 11:59 PM on January 21
The post-WWII political left had an agenda they couldn’t achieve through persuasion so they imported voters instead. They are the number one enemy. The immigrants are just a tool they foolishly believe they will still be able to control once the white populations of the western nations are turned into a minority.
The only “white weakness” imo is a sense of fairness and the subsequent guilt over slavery that has been expertly exploited by the marxist left to get their way. I think the holocaust magnified that feeling post-war. It would be ironic if the actions of Hitler ended up being key in what is effectively the ongoing suicide of the western world.

“Crime rates in Japan and in particular its cities are at rates so low that Americans could only dream of.”
Yes, but who do we have to blame that on? The Whites decided in the 1950s that having Blacks around was a good thing. They actually believed their own fantasies, until it came to their own neighborhoods. Parts of South Shore in Chicago, where people like James Watson went to school, Suze Orman, Sherry Lansing, et al. lived, were WHITE for a long time, Unfortuately, by the time 1960 rolled around, the poor Black invasion force from South of the Mason-Dixie line had already begun. By the time President Lyndon Johnson started his “War on Poverty,” the Black inundation was in full swing. Welfare meant that Blacks could push out child after child at the expense of Whitey. The rest is history.

“Well Cassiodorus, your little jab aside, I posed the idea of entitlement as a question. I asked this because the tone of Taylor’s article implies The United States is ENTITLED to such racial homogeneity.”
I don’t especially care about what “tone” you think you detect in the article. You mentioned “entitlement” explicitly, and asked why the US is “entitled” to racial homogeneity. It is therefore your question, not Taylor’s. The obvious response is that there is no such thing as entitlement and that the American people are supposed to be able to decide for themselves whether a policy is desirable or not. “Diversity” is a demonstrably bad idea, consequently it ought to be rejected.
“I wasn’t referring to any influx of immigrants today and the policies regarding it. I was talking about the 6th, 5th and 4th generation Black Americans who are the progeny of the enslaved.”
Clearly. But so what? There presence in the US is a sad, unfortunate fact, but how their existence ought to affect the question at hand is not at all clear. If anything, the ongoing failure of policies aimed at their acculuration into white American civilization ought to be considered a cautionary tale.
“However, if some Brazilian intellectual or politician went around advocating a white racial homogeneity for Brazil, and implied Brazil was entitled to it, wouldn’t we have to inquire into Brazil’s racial history to judge whether or not they had a sound moral posture?”
See earlier remark on “entitlement.” In addition, it is one thing to acknowledge the historical presence of blacks in America or Brazil, quite another to claim that this presence exercises some sort of veto power over any sovereign nation’s immigration policies. “Sound moral posture” is merely another version of “entitlement.” If fact the phrase verges on meaninglessness; if flooding one’s country with unassimilable aliens is a bad idea, which it clearly is, what “sound moral posture,” exactly, ought to be required before one can point to the undesirability of creeping third-worldism? If all you’re concerned with is pointing out that non-white people have lived for several generations in the US, no one here will have any quarrel with you. However, your very plain implication is that the presence of slaves in the US has some bearing on how we treat questions of race and related matters today. This I absolutely deny. No hard feelings.

“…the tone of Taylor’s article implies The United States is ENTITLED to such racial homogeneity.”
-Jason Everich, New York City
Jason, go back and take a close look at Jared Taylor’s article on Japan. What specifically leads you to conclude that Taylor is implying that America is “entitled” to homogeneity? This is not the thrust of the article at all. His argument is that homogeneity is a strength, and diversity is a weakness (and wouldn’t you agree the evidence he presents is pretty convincing? At the very least, in the case of Japan, it is true; therefore, there is at least ONE instance in the world where the claims of diversity have been shown to be false). From that, one might rightly conclude, then, that it would be *better* if America was a homogeneous White nation, rather than what it is.
But “entitled”? You’ve erected a straw man. Taylor nowhere makes the claim that because Japan is a homogeneous nation and successful, America should be a homogeneous nation.
With that distinction drawn, however, don’t you think it’s foolish to ignore the plight of all for the sake of a few? If Taylor’s conclusions about diversity are correct, shouldn’t we look at making adjustments? Entitled or not, it would seem the utilitarian thing to do to take heed of such evidence as Taylor presents and rethink some of the underlying assumptions of the age.
This seems to be, fundamentally, a clash of two points of view, each of which accuses the other of unrealistic idealism. But who’s truly the idealist, here? The person who promotes diversity and thinks everyone is essentially the same and therefore society should structure itself according to those ideological assumptions; or the person who takes a cold, hard look at the mountains of evidence which suggest otherwise, and suggest there may be a better way to structure society, which runs counter to the current method?

The above poster going on and on about Japanese creativity has got it wrong. I applaud the Japanese for many things but sitting here and beating up on our own race and claiming they are better than us in every way is suicidal and naive. Unfortunately many people on this website like to do this. The same qualities that brought white people multiculturalism also brought us modern science. It is our individualism and creativity that sets us apart from East Asians (among other things). We have good qualities that they lack and visa versa. Why don’t people on this website acknowledge this? It is ridiculous to claim that the Japanese are more innovative than us. They are good at improving our inventions but they haven’t surpassed us in innovation yet. A few months ago some people were on here making a big deal about their plasma screen TVs but even those were invented by whites.
Posted by Courtney at 11:57 PM on January 22
Improving on an invention isn’t being creative?
So turning the Ford Model-T over time into a Ferrari didn’t involve creativeness?
Turning the Wright Brothers’ first plane into a stealth bomber over the decades didn’t involve inventiveness?
Are the original inventors the only people who can be labeled ‘creative’ with regards to their invention?
So all that work by scientists through the years who turned the black and white televisions into high definition plasma televisions, all those people, are they worthy of being called ‘creative’? Or is it only the original inventor of the black and white television who can be called ‘creative’?
Are the Japanese worthy of the description ‘creative’ when they take American technology such as bionics and artificial intelligence and dramatically improve on them?
Incidentally, here are two youtube video showing commercials on what the Japanese are doing in the area of robotics.

Whites to date have definitely been the most innovative race. No doubt about that. But that does not mean that we can just sit on our laurels and assume that this will continue to be the case.
Obviously all technology is built on the scientific concepts that whites came up with, but that does not mean that right now there is more innovation in the West than the East.

Hitler had nothing to do with it; things would be no different today had he never existed. If anything, Hitler probably was presciently aware of white people’s weaknesses. Massive third world immigration and multicultualism is the inevitable outcome of the genetically imprinted psychology of white people; this is the result of evolution - something you cant alter overnight. Key powerful, manipulative alien groups within their populations exploited this psychological weakness and blind spot of whites, resulting in a cascade of self-destructive policies in the West that become more irreversible as time goes on.

“Turning the Wright Brothers’ first plane into a stealth bomber over the decades didn’t involve inventiveness?”
But Asians weren’t responsible for even a noticeable fraction of those changes.
“So turning the Ford Model-T over time into a Ferrari didn’t involve creativeness?”
See my above comment.
How can you compare what is going on in Japan now to the examples you give above?
“Whites to date have definitely been the most innovative race. No doubt about that. But that does not mean that we can just sit on our laurels and assume that this will continue to be the case.”
If this has always been the case then wouldn’t you say it is genetic? How could this just be a coincidence? Sure the Asians will surpass us if we keep dumbing ourselves down by trying to meet the standards of hispanics and blacks. But what is that supposed to mean? I am not saying it is okay to do that by the way. I agree with you on that part.
“Obviously all technology is built on the scientific concepts that whites came up with, but that does not mean that right now there is more innovation in the West than the East.”
I haven’t seen any evidence that the East is more innovative yet. Think of everything new that has come out recently. Even the cell phone, the internet, the plasma screened TV, the latest satellites and the most environmentaly friendly cars have all been developed FIRST (that is the keyword) by whites.

Interesting discussion.
Adolf Hitler is of course the embodiment of evil in the modern imagination. You can’t turn on the History Channel without seeing images of Hitler and goose-stepping Nazis cut to ominous minor-chord music. The message is clear: they were the greatest threat to civilization ever to be unleashed upon the world, and they had to be destroyed else civilization would have perished.
We have to realize this image is largely popular myth. Regardless of the evil that may have occurred under the Nazi banner, if we look at Hitler’s positions, consider how the world has evolved since his time, we see that he was indeed very aware of the real problems that threatened Western civilization and have to give him at least some credit for his insight. These are the very problems that we are faced with today, that we here on Amren constantly raise our voices about.
Let’s not forget that he offered peace to England. It appears that he really believed that England would eventually side with him, that Germany’s “racial brothers” across the channel would understand the need for racial solidarity against the coming onslaught of Communism. That’s right — long before the Cold War, Hitler realized that Communism was a threat to the very survival of the West and waged a war against the Soviet Union in a sort of preemptive strike. It’s clear now that the Soviets intended to engage in their own war of conquest in Europe, and were preparing to do so on the eve of the German 1941 invasion of Russia; subsequent events after WWII prove that the Soviets indeed had designs on Europe (and the rest of the world). In any case, as we know, America and Britain sided with the Soviets, against the “greater threat” represented by the Nazis, and this powerful alliance eventually brought about the ruin of Germany. The defeat of Nazi Germany meant the discrediting of racialism as a legitimate worldview, and in its place economics (embodied both in “capitalism for the sake of capitalism”, and communism) was enshrined as the acceptable underlying motif guiding civilization. That’s where we find ourselves today.
Either Hegel was right, or those who studied Hegel made sure he was right: thesis + antithesis = synthesis. The defeat of Germany equaled the elimination of racialism as a legitimate worldview (the logic being that Nazism represented the “logical outcome” of racialist thinking, and therefore could not be tolerated). You then had democracy/capitalism left to compete with totalitarianism/communism, and the merging of the two is exactly what we see today. A kind of “soft” economic socialism combined with a rigid multi-cultural doctrine that comes straight from the old Soviet Union. An orthodoxy that hails the minority but most of all trumpets the economic dimension of society as the “ultimate purpose”.

That’s just it. This hasn’t ALWAYS been the case. Northeast Asians were the world power from 3000 B.C.E up till 1500 A.D. Four thousand five hundred years of being the world’s first in civilization and innovation isn’t something to scoff at, especially with a white track record of a mere five hundred years.
If it were definitely without a doubt in the genes, then why didn’t white people dominate the world scene and come up with the inventions the Chinese did for four thousand five hundred years? Why only in the last five hundred have white people started ‘winning’?
In the time span of five thousand years, for whites to have dominated five hundred of those years, and for Northeast Asians to have dominated for four thousand five hundred of those years, is it fair for us whites to say our dominance has ‘always been the case’? Especially now when Northeast Asians are our heaviest competition?

White track record of 500 years? Wow, you REALLY need to brush up on your history. Ancient Greece produced some of the most brilliant minds in all of recorded human history, as documented extensively by Murray in his book on individual excellence. Even during some of the most “dark” ages in European history, there is hardly ever a dearth of creative expression. Or, even if there briefly is for a short moment, there is always evidence that it is trying to “eek out” in the face of dominant social taboo’s. I think you’re really exaggerating the situat
