Migrants Defy Security in Ciudad Juarez and Rush to El Paso Border

Hundreds of migrants continue to make their way to the El Paso border sector despite increased security in Ciudad Juarez.
CBS4 got a hold of dramatic images of migrants rushing past authorities and making their way to American soil along the Rio Grande river bank.
Video shows migrants cheering, whistling, and celebrating that they could see their end goal in sight: the El Paso border sector.

Francisco Garduño is a part of the Migration Delegate on the Mexican side of the border and he said migrants making their way to the southern border will always be an issue if the United States continues to allow their open border policy.
“As long as the United States continues to open the doors of its border and exceptionally allow passage to some groups, families, minors, vulnerable people, it is a call for more migrants to come,” Garduño said.
Over the last couple of weeks, migrants had been seen riding on top of freight trains from central to northern Mexico as they made their way to the U.S. southern border.
