Poll: ‘Islam Does Not Belong in Austria’

The Local, February 9, 2015

A new survey on how Islam is viewed in Austria suggests that anti-Muslim sentiment has risen sharply in the wake of the Paris shootings, with 69 percent of those polled saying they did not believe that Islam belongs in Austria.

The survey, carried out by Unique Research for the Heute tabloid paper, polled 500 people. Only seven percent strongly agreed with the statement “Islam is part of Austria”, with 42 percent responding “definitely not”.

Around three quarters of those polled said that they believed Austrian citizens who travelled abroad to fight with Islamic State militants should have their citizenship withdrawn. Only five percent rejected this idea categorically.

Forty percent said that they felt Islam was a threat for Austria.

However, on Sunday a march in Linz organised by the anti-Islamization movement Pegida drew just 150 supporters and was dwarfed by a counter-demo of some 2,000 people.

Only 69%? At least the numbers are going in the right direction.

Our battle is against liberalism — the latest form of satanism.

      • Michigan Patriot

        100 % correct !

    • Nevsky

how many of those polled were non-whites?

      • Michigan Patriot

        31 %; those damn parasitic aliens !

  • MartelsGhost

I’m willing to bet that the 31% of Austrians who replied in the negative were themselves islamic immigrants……………….

islam has no place at all in the entire world.

islam certainly has no reason to be in Austria.

    • Katherine McChesney

Islam shouldn’t be allowed to exist.

      • Alexandra1973

Can’t really do anything about that except send missionaries who are willing to risk their necks and keep Muhammad’s disciples in their own nations.

    • Charles Martel

More likely afraid of appearing “Islamaphobic” to the pollster.

      • MartelsGhost

I’ve been thinking a lot about that term lately. In an effort to use their own words against them I think that we need to acknowledge that they are right……..we do need to rid the world of any reason to fear muslims…………………..you don’t need to be afraid at all………………..they don’t scare anybody with their 7th century ignorance and blustering……………they couldn’t scare a little old grandma and they certainly don’t scare me………………………………………………..silly goatrapers………..”you’re nothing but a pack of cards”…………………………Semper Fi.

Islam has no places inside the gates of the Western world.

    • Especially not inside the Gates of Vienna.

The powers that be have people in Germany thinking that if they show up at Pegida marches they could wind up being victims of terrorist attacks. This is because of ‘threats’ that were made. Those threats more likely came from the people who give most Western leaders their marching orders rather than radical muslims.

As for 69% of Austrians being against the muslim (and lets face it, non-white immigration, period), you can bet that if the MSM is admitting to that high a percentage, the actual number of those against more aliens is likely closer to 90% if not higher.

  • MekongDelta69

“69 percent of those polled saying they did not believe that Islam belongs in Austria.”

JUST 69%?!? This poll is a little ‘skewed’ if you ‘axe’ me.

  • Lawrence Murray

Well clearly the answer is more Muslims need to immigrate to Austria; a likely policy recommendation from Brussels.

    • Raydonn

More likely recommended from Tel Aviv…………….

The Heute is a free paper that is handed out by homeless people in the subway and train stations in Vienna, and only Vienna.

As far as I know, no one actually subscribes to this paper so the polling must have been conducted in person. Sixty-nine percent is a step in the right direction when you consider that the average person will lie when confronted with race and culture issues in person (Keep in mind that said homeless are mostly African and some Arab).

Vienna is a beautiful and historic city, but like many others it is starting to succumb to the third-world undertow. Vienna is to Austria as what Atlanta is to the state of Georgia. I don’t think this poll comes close to how the rest of Austria feels.

    I hope I’m correct.

No, Heute is not the one handed out by homeless people, you have it confused with “Augustin”.
Nevertheless, Heute is a free paper that can be taken away at subway stations. It is however mostly funded by government ads, so this politically incorrect result did surprise me.

      • Red

You are correct. It in the Augustin that is handed out by the homeless. Totally my mistake and thanks for pointing it out.

I have edited my original post.

    • TheLastAngel

She is nothing more than an opportunist communist scumbag.

  • newscomments70

That number is promising, but when will action be taken to reverse immigration?

  • Michigan Patriot

69 % ? Any logical, fair minded people should have expected a vote of 99.99 % for self-preservation; the .01 % for Islam are the insane, self dsetructive loonies !

  • corvinus

Only seven percent strongly agreed with the statement “Islam is part of Austria”, with 42 percent responding “definitely not”.

Heh… the seven percent must be the Muslim population.

Here in UK in the last two weeks we have had:
A gang of 20 Pakistani men prosecuted for raping and abusing white girls in Newcastle.
A gang of 25 Pakistani men prosecuted in Halifax for the same offence.
A gang of 4 Pakistani youths prosecuted in Newcastle for an unprovoked attack on a elderly Jewish man.
A Pakistani school in receipt of public funds prosecuted for stealing £1 million and sending it to Pakistan.
A gang of Pakistani men jailed for stealing £ thousands in an ATM scam.
The list goes on daily but there are never any ‘Good News’ stories involving these people.
We have about 3 million of them in UK -more than half living on welfare.
There is no up-side to them.

    • Cid Campeador

Form vigilante brigades and start taking these criminals out. Get your Right to Defend yourself with firearms back.

  • Alexandra1973

Seems to me that they don’t care about how the people feel, they just tell themselves “we’ve got work to do.”

  • Beowald

“However, on Sunday a march in Linz organised by the anti-Islamization movement Pegida drew just 150 supporters and was dwarfed by a counter-demo of some 2,000 people.”

Wonder if the counter-demo was arranged by a community organizer?

They remember the last time peaceful muslims came, back in 1683.

  • shmo123

I feel nothing but contempt for Islam and its founder, and believe that Islam is incompatible with the Christian West. If it were up to me, I’d permanently close the door on all Muslim immigration tomorrow, pursue the illegals among them aggressively, and make sure all who were allowed in on a short tourist visas were monitored and made sure they left when they were suppose to. Having said that, I don’t want war with them, and don’t care how they live in their respective countries. They can put their asses in the air and bang their heads on the floor five times a day to Allah, dress their ugly women in black bed sheets and treat them like chattel and it affects me not in the least. We can still trade; we’ll buy their oil and pistachios and whatever else they sell (which isn’t much, cause they don’t produce anything) and we’ll sell them whatever they want for hard currency. No sense in being foolish about it, and whatever we can make back for all the trillions we’ve spent on oil, all the better.
We don’t have to like each other, but we can live in peace, if we live apart.

  • Steve_in_Vermont

The fact that so few people attended the “anti” march tells us nothing. Neither does the larger turnout for the “pro” faction. A turnout of a few hundred in a large population is meaningless. The vast majority of people in any society don’t like rallies, or marches, or any form of demonstrations. The surveys, however, are a much better indicator.

  • Preparation HBomb

Good for the Austrians!!! I don’t believe Islam has any place in the USA, either. But it will probably take a tragedy here at home on the order of a 9/11 to jerk the opinions of the mostly stupid public around to where they see the truth of the Austrian position.

  • AndrewInterrupted

“…69 percent of Austrians say so…”

And the other 31% would also agree if they weren’t scared s**tless.

  • Cid Campeador

Islam belongs nowhere other than in the Third World Hell Hole from whence it came into existence. The Scandinavians have let them have their way for too long and it’s time for them and the rest of the West to begin the “removal” by any means necessary, of these savage, murdering, raping, child molesting, mutilating disciples of Satan AKA Allah and his acolyte, Mohammed.

  • Cid Campeador

IT’s not the race, its the so called “Religion’ that makes them evil.
