Elected last November, Cannon previously served on the Charlotte City Council. After an almost four-year investigation, U.S. prosecutors said Cannon accepted bribes from the strip club owner and two undercover agents in exchange for helping circumvent zoning regulations.

Cannon was also accused of soliciting up to $1 million in bribes, reports the Associated Press.

Cannon faces up to 20 years in prison and $250,000 in fines.

Sad Negro is sad. Not because he did wrong, but because he was caught. TNB.

This has got to be the “feel good” story of the month.

You know what, there seems to be a common thread to all these stories about big city Democratic mayors getting caught up in bribery scandals but I just can’t put my finger on what it is….

    • Rhialto

Another common thread is the FedGov becoming involved in what used to be state and local crime involving state and local governments.

      • Lots of things are instantly federal if they want it, even though these crimes are not interstate or international. Kidnapping is federal – if they want it – even when it does not cross state lines. So is any felony committed on an Indian reservation. Political corruption is another.

I suspect federal jurisdiction over political corruption was an answer to the decades of corrupt, big-city political machines like Tammany Hall, when local and state prosecutors were unable and/or unwilling to do anything about the problem.

There is a problem in Houston, TX. where the city council voted to make all public rest rooms open to all sexes, the people responded with a referendum that passed to cancel the councils vote. Not only did they ignore the peoples outrage about this but are trying to get the Christian church pastors to hand over all sermons and notes dealing with homosexuality and lesbianism etc. The pastors should first petition the state AG to step in and if that don’t work file a complaint with the federal AG’s office. This is one of the few times that I would like to see the federal gov. get involved with anything in the states.

          • Earl P. Holt III

I wonder where all those outraged citizens were when that queer woman was running for Mayor of Houston?

Our apathy will be our undoing, and it won’t take much longer…!

          • Check out the demographics of Houston.

Last night I heard it was the lesbian mayor of Houston that was calling for this. Stomp out any opposition so to speak.

          • archer

You are right, I forgot to add she is a lesbian.

They all LOVE MONEY, but HATE CAPITALISM…?

      (Is that it?)

This thug only got 44 months, and his crimes go further than what’s reported here. They knew he was rotten to the core the whole time he was running for Mayor, but allowed him to continue. Go figure.

    • Earl P. Holt III

The spooks would elect the Devil, itself, if the Devil promised them free stuff…!

  • Twenty years is the statutory max. He’ll get guidelines instead, which means he’ll probably be in a 60 month sentencing range. On 60 months, he’ll do 54 with good behavior, and he’s camp-eligible.

    Sweets to the sweet, Patrick!

    • me

Patrick the sad Negro isn’t sweet. He’s a racist POS. More like….

      • The “s” to the “s” I was thinking of wasn’t “sweet”, but I didn’t want to get moderated.

        • me

I get what you were trying to say, without being ban hammered. That Negro needs a good tar and feathering, as do most of our politicians.

  • Fed Up

Now why, when reading the story headline, did I immediately take it for granted, that the crooked mayor was a Black?

Poor man. He was merely trying to keep up with those other bad examples by Berry, Ragin, Jefferson and those other Black thieves.

    • thegodsofeden

Yeah but Berry was keepin’ it real by smokin’ crack! Just taking a bribe is acting “White”.

  • Fed Up

I am driven to ask this question:

Is there now, or has there EVER been a Black politician who is truly and totally HONEST?

    • Marion Barry, former mayor of D.C., was honest and clean as the driven snow until that damn ‘crack-ho’ set him up and forced him to smoke crack! It totally ruined his career . . . until the darlings of ‘diversity’ voted him in again and again as their mayor.

    • Katherine McChesney

Or a black pastor??? (with the exception of Manning.)

    • Alexandra1973

I was on the phone with my mom, who still lives in the Detroit area, and she said that mayor there is getting things done, and he’s the first White mayor in over 40 years.

I said “well there ya go!”

    • me

Nah. He aspirin’ ta be da next prezziden’.

  • I’m hoping he’ll pull a Jimmy Swaggart and cry out, “Lord, I have sinned!” – but he won’t. The only real evil people in the world are those damn racist ‘crackas’ at amren!

    • jayvbellis

Charlie Rangel was much better than Marion Barry. Charlie Rangel would never be caught smoking crack cocaine in some low rent motel with a low life prostitute.

      • Luca

Congratulations to Charlie Rangel for never getting caught….yet. He’s a little smarter than Barry, what with all that White DNA and all. Unfortunately his black DNA has been troublesome and he has racked up quite a few ethics violations.

  • 4321realist

Well, look at the bright side. When he gets to the slammer he will have a terrific family reunion.

  • dd121

Damn! And he thought he’d hit the jackpot.

  • MBlanc46

Black politicians seem to think that public office is about “getting theirs”.

    • benvad

Nepotism & corruption are what’s owed to them.

Mixed race females are much better political leaders in places like Charlotte NC and my Chicago. My alderwoman is mixed race and county board chairwoman is mixed race – they are honest and do a good job. Always avoid the big, Black man leader who’s down with THE PEOPLE

    • Thats like saying a single punctured lung is so much better than a punctured lung + a sprained ankle … technically? Sure, one is worse, but really, they both kind of suck…

“mixed race – they are honest and do a good job.” I have to assume that this is some kind of joke?

  • Capt. Bryant

Used to have a lot of family members living in Charlotte. They all moved. You can guess why.

    • My mother’s parents retired to Clearwater, but moved to Charlotte after they tired of Florida. They passed on 25 years ago, in what this article suggests was a mercy.

  • Robbie Cheney

I recall a writer on Stormfraud exposing the local marxists who confronted Mr. Taylor and was promptly banned. Cannon is a ‘product’ of public housing (the hood) and a protege of the current NC governor Pat McCrory.

  • scutum

Mayor Cannon’s behavior is neither wrong nor right, it is simply Negro behavior. To expect anything other than this from Mayor Cannon is unrealistic. You get what you vote for.
