Police were seeking suspects on Sunday in what appeared to be the unrelated shootings of two police officers in and near the Missouri city of Ferguson, which remains on edge after a black teenager was shot to death by a white police officer last month.

The Saturday night shooting of an officer in the St. Louis suburb of Ferguson did not seem linked to peaceful protests occurring elsewhere in the city, police said, nor was it connected to a separate shooting involving an off-duty police officer in St. Louis early Sunday.

Neither officer received life-threatening injuries, according to the St. Louis County Police Department.

In the first incident, the officer had seen a man in the rear of the Ferguson Community Center at about 9 p.m. on Saturday. The man ran away and then turned and shot the officer in the arm during a foot chase, Schellman said.

The officer, who was treated at a local hospital, returned fire but apparently did not hit the suspect, who disappeared into a nearby wooded area, Schellman said.

Three hours later, an off-duty St. Louis City police officer driving his personal vehicle on Interstate 70 was shot at and suffered a minor arm injury from broken glass, Schellman said.

It was not clear if the officer was targeted or if the shooting was random, Schellman said. The officer, who was wearing his uniform pants but not his uniform shirt, did not return fire, the sergeant said.

  • There’s a part of me that thinks that this was inevitable, given all the anti-white anti-cop invective spewing from certain quarters of this town.

However, these things may have happened anyway even if GENTILIVUS GIANTIVS wasn’t made to take a dirt nap last month. Because, Bell Curve City and typical black behavior.

I tell ya, the Gentle Giant sure wasn’t a mental giant…

  • Evidently, shooting cops is now a form of “protest”, along with rioting, looting and arson. Meanwhile, the mainstream media pretends not to understand why the newspapers are dying off.

    • propagandaoftruth

Gee. No risk of PTSD in the policing business, eh?

      “Let Freedom Reighn”
too bad black’s define freedom as savagery.

The Ferguson PD should all walk off the job for a day. Let the world see the chimpout that occurs when law and order isn’t around to keep these innocent youths and rowdy teens under control.

Better yet, all in the Ferguson PD should take a medical retirement for stress….might as well make this pay off.

You can bet the minority replacements will do the same thing…..

Or better yet crack down like they are in the case of the Canadensis, Pennsylvania state trooper shot by a sniper, they have locked people out of their houses shut down the streets.

Even if Ferguson PD called off — it would have little impact other than financial for the city. They have had officers from other forces working with them nearly every single day since the Mike Brown stuff kicked off, and county police would just take over to fill the gap along with a few fill ins from other jurisdictions…

Now if all of the majority black municipalities police officers took off — say North County wide and just left it to the county police — that might be interesting.
Though I think it might solve some things too that are general annoyances of living in North County. All of the little jurisdictions have far too much time to and incentive to try to pick the pockets of anyone foolish enough to live, walk, have to drive through the maze of small jurisdictions that would be unable to pay for themselves without their implementation of the road tax (both walking, and driving forms of it).

When will the black Ferguson police chief apologize to the shooters b/c his White officers didn’t stand still enough so they could kill them?

[He’s apologized for everything else under the sun…]

  • dd121

And all this racist killing of cops gets a tacit nod from the leftists.

  • Bon, From the Land of Babble

Police Chief Jon Belmar said he did not think the officer’s shooting was related to two separate protests about Michael Brown’s shooting

Nope. Couldn’t possibly be connected to the justified Thug Brown shooting.

Just like the incident in Oklahoma was “workplace violence.”

They are now banned from wearing those on duty.

  • IstvanIN

It was not clear if the officer was targeted or if the shooting was random, Schellman said Yeah, right.

I read about the one officer getting shot in the Wall Street Journal this morning. They managed to neglect mentioning race when talking about the police officer being shot (although I’m sure just about everyone could assume), yet one sentence later, they mentioned how recently in Ferguson a White officer shot an unarmed Black teen. All the sympathy was given to the poor Blacks, even though the news was supposed to be about a White officer being shot. Its almost as if they were implying that the honky cop deserved it.

    • There is no “almost.” We are at war.

  • 1stworlder

This is why leftists wanted all the Ferguson cops to have the names easier to read on the badges.

  • Albert

How can they assert that the shooting were not related to the unrest (“peaceful protests” my arse) in Ferguson when they have no clue as to the intent of either shooter? The media cannot make baseless assumptions.

    • R L Buds

Because they know that this is just how they live there lives. The blacks don’t know or care about mike brown, they see there fellow blacks going wild so they follow along.

“…given all the anti-white anti-cop invective spewing from certain quarters of this town.”

I do believe the anti-cop invective goes well beyond Fergeson but all of the way to the DOJ and the White House.

    • Christorchaos

..and all the way to certain segments of the right wing libertarians, as well, to be honest.

  • Christorchaos

“Neither officer received life-threatening injuries, ” … Oh, so now I am not worried.
