HHS: 60K Unaccompanied Illegal Alien Children Will Be Caught in ’14

Terence P. Jeffrey, CNS News, March 5, 2014

The Department of Health and Human Services is estimating in its new budget proposal that the number of unaccompanied alien children who will be caught having illegally entered the United States will rise to 60,000 in fiscal 2014.

That is up about 815 percent from the 6,560 unaccompanied alien children (UAC) who were apprehended in the U.S. only three years ago in fiscal 2011.

“Since FY 2011, the annual number of arriving UAC has increased from 6,560 to an estimated 60,000 for FY 2014,” says HHS’s “Budget in Brief.”

A fact sheet published by HHS’s Administration for Children and Families (ACF), whose Office of Refugee Resettlement is responsible for dealing with minors illegally entering the United States without their parents or a legal guardian, indicates that beginning in FY 2012, and continuing in FY 2013, the number of these children skyrocketed.

“On average between 7,000 and 8,000 children are served annually in this program,” says the fact sheet. “In Fiscal Year 2012 (October 1, 2011–September 30, 2012), this number jumped dramatically, with a total of 13,625 children served by ORR that year. In FY2013, this overall increase continued, resulting in 24,668 UAC referrals from DHS for the 12-month reporting period.”

According to HHS, the vast majority of the unaccompanied alien children arriving in the U.S. come from Central America—not Mexico.

“Most are over 14 and approximately three quarters of them are boys,” says the ACF fact sheet.  “In FY 2013, origin of youth in this program was as follows: Guatemala (37%); El Salvador (26%); Honduras (30%); Mexico (3%); Ecuador (2%); and Other (3%). Over the years, the breakdown per country of origin has remained relatively constant.”

“Most children are placed into care because they were apprehended by immigration authorities while trying to cross the border; others are referred after coming to the attention of immigration authorities at some point after crossing the border,” says ACF. “The average length of stay in the program is currently near 35 days. Of the children served, some 85% are reunified with their families.”

  • They were caught.

    Then what?

    Sent home?

    No way.

    Because…dreamers.

    • AndrewInterrupted

That’s right. This is all about the anchor baby
redemption scheme that Chicago is planning.
That will be in the fine print of some backroom
immigration deal, when we’re all sleeping.

  • Jesse James

I think there is a difference in Hispanic and US definitions of childhood. These unaccompanied young people are obviously coming up here to work at something. We could probably reduce the numbers entering our country illegally if we set up teen work camps. The government could make sure they had three hots and a cot and offset the cost by hiring them out to farmers.

  • 2eRep

    Put them in labor camps.

  • Alexandra1973

Send them back with sus familias.

    • AndrewInterrupted

It’s quite likely they are announcing this to prep the foundation to deal with ‘anchor babies’. I doubt it is what it seems. It’s always a stunt with these Chicago scammers.

As far as I can tell, NONE of these child illegals are deported. The “85% reunited with their families” means reunited with their legal (or illegal) relatives (or people who claim to be relatives) already here. In other words, 60,000 more invaders who are caught but allowed to stay. I hope I’m wrong – if so please let me know – it will lower my blood pressure.

    • DonReynolds

You are not wrong. They were not deported. Those that rode the bus to the border, came back the next morning prepared to answer the question “correctly”.

  • Male teens in the thousands from violent Central American countries. My crystal ball sees a crime wave in the near future as these miscreants come “out of the shadows.” It really is going to take vigilante action, secession, or a revolution to straighten out this now godforsaken, once great country.

    • Einsatzgrenadier

Hondurans and Salvadorans have the highest murder rates on the planet. Just wait until the turd world savages start breeding like flies on US territory. It’s extremely obvious at this point that the US government is absolutely determined to wipe out its white majority population.

I call this “death by mestizo”.

      • I’m going to steal your phrase, “Death by Mestizo” if you don’t mind. It’ll make a good title for something I’m writing.

        • Bossman

Mestizos will save America. I’ve all kinds of reasons for saying that. I can enumerate them for you if you so wish.

        • 1stworlder

Almost as good as Latino Littering

      • Bossman

Mestizos made it possible for Europe to extend itself into the Americas. If the early European explorers and adventurers were not able to breed with native women, there would’ve been no America. Mestizos can assimilate Blacks better than whites.

    • The MS-13 gang comes quickly to mind.

  • JohnEngelman

This article mentions illegal immigrant children being “served.” There is no mention of them being deported.

    • gemjunior

LMAO. I caught that too. I bet they were “served” better than ever. Here Juan, can I give you some cash to get started?”

    • PvtCharlieSlate

      Soylent Green …

  • mobilebay

What happened to “family values.” Why would a parent send an unaccompanied child to another country alone?

  • DonReynolds

What a really crummy article. Yes, 85 percent of the children are re-united with their supposed parent…..because they are not returned to the border! They are provided with free transportation and accomodations to where their “parent” lives, EVEN IF THE PARENT IS IN THE USA ILLEGALLY. Completely insane and the illegals all know it now. So now anyone trying to smuggle in some more minor children need only coach them to say……they have a “parent” living in NJ….or NC…..or Chicago….or Nashville. Then they will be carried in the arms of ICE angels to be re-united with their “family”. Lying bastards and a pox on ICE for being such a sucker.

    • Reverend Bacon

Yes. I suggest we implement a “random” deportation scheme. The illegal has to draw two numbers at random: a latitude and a longitude. That’s where they are deported to. If they get “lucky” and get somewhere in the US, they spin again. If they get unlucky and get the middle of the ocean, they can choose the needle right there, and save the pain of death by drowning.

      • DonReynolds

        A cute game, Bacon.
In the end each illegal will make up his own mind when to depart, if they are not apprehended in the meantime.
        .
I propose they be allowed to self-deport for a time…..3 to 9 months, or even a year. During that time, they are free to leave with all they have stolen and accumulated. If they do not leave by the deadline date, then they will forfeit ALL of their personal property and they will get a bus ride and a box lunch instead…..arriving in Mexico with only the clothes on their backs. The vast majority would elect to leave in a U-Haul, towing whatever they could pull. The loot is what is important to them.

        • Reverend Bacon

Yes, and if they come back, we have an inventory of what they took the first time. We bill their country for this, plus interest.

You know, when the government declares a tax amnesty, or the library declares an overdue fines amnesty, it’s usually just that all the punitive penalties are waived. It’s not like you don’t have to pay the taxes or return the books. Your amnesty sounds more like that. The amnesty being discussed in Congress is more like an invitation to break the law.

          • DonReynolds

Yes, the Amnesty discussion all seems to revolve over HOW MUCH to reward the law breakers!
My version of Amnesty is very simple. If you self deport and leave this country willingly and soon enough, the USA will grant you amnesty……more specifically, we will not pursue you into Mexico (or anywhere else) and demand you be extradited to stand trial in the USA for violating the immigration laws.
What the Leftist Liberals want to do is create a REWARD for those who enter the country illegally…..which is as nutty as chasing down a bank robber to give him MORE of the bank money.

  • Who Me?

The only way to stop them is to shoot them on sight. I don’t think anyone on here, including myself, is cold enough to advocate outright slaughter of thousands of innocent civilian children.

    • 1stworlder

I have known some that might go out to the desert and awl punch holes in the water supplies leftists set up for them. Mostly to piss off the leftist traitors.

    • They are not “innocent”; they are criminal invaders.

    • DonReynolds

You are correct, of course. None of us are seriously considering genocide.
We are willing to use whatever force proves to be necessary to remove criminal invaders from our country. Those who use violence to resist removal, we would have no problem shooting. Those who ignore a generous window to self deport peacefully and with safe conduct to the border, could end up walking at bayonet point or ridding on a bus with armed guards and chains. They can leave the easy way or the hard way. It is their choice.

  • Spartacus

“Most are over 14 and approximately three quarters of them are boys,”

    ———————————————————————————————————————

And this doesn’t strike anyone as strange…

    • 1stworlder

That explains why Barney Frank is going on a fact finding mission along the border.

      • gemjunior

Yes, he can save a trip to the Dominican Republic or the Philippines, or wherever they’re going these days..

    • These are Central American illegal invaders not Mexicans so I have two theories for contributing factors for why three-quarters of them are male by the time they get up here: 1, It’s a risky behavior and so males should be more likely to try it, though that might only apply to invaders without children in tow; and 2, some percentage of the girls who started out in Central America probably got turned into prostitutes in Mexico on the way up here.

      • Men colonize, and later on, if the colony is successful, they send for the women.

  • Bossman

The same thing that happened in Spanish America, happened in all the Americas—from Canada to Argentina. Later on certain parts were flooded with European immigrants. But they all had the same beginnings.

  • Kristin Morgan

We need to stop hating on the immigrants and start hating on those responsible for allowing all of this to happen – namely, businesses that hire them- including the wealthy homes that hire illegal housekeepers, landscapers and subcontractors.
