Ole Miss Frat Suspended Due to Members’ Suspected Involvement Placing Noose on Statue

Huffington Post, February 22, 2014

A fraternity chapter at the University of Mississippi was indefinitely suspended Friday by its national organization and three of its freshman members were kicked out because of their suspected involvement in hanging a noose on a statue of James Meredith, the first black student to enroll in the then all-white college.

In a statement, Sigma Phi Epsilon said it suspended the Alpha Chapter at the university and the chapter voted to expel all three men and turn over their identities to investigators.

Police on Sunday found a noose tied around the neck of the statue, along with an old Georgia flag with a Confederate battle emblem in its design, which has since been updated to exclude the emblem.

When Meredith tried to enter Ole Miss in fall 1962, Mississippi’s governor tried to stop him. That led to violence on the Oxford campus.

U.S. Attorney General Robert Kennedy sent 500 U.S. marshals to take control and days later, Meredith was allowed in the school. Though he faced harassment, he graduated with a degree in political science.

The FBI said Friday it planned to expand the vandalism investigation for potential violations of federal law.

“It is embarrassing that these men had previously identified with our fraternity,” said Brian C. Warren Jr., CEO of Sigma Phi Epsilon. “SigEp as a national fraternity has championed racial equality and issues on diversity since 1959 when it became the first national fraternity to invite members of all races, creeds and religions to join its membership.”

Warren said the fraternity will conduct a review to ensure that members’ values align with those espoused by the organization. “We won’t allow the actions of a few men to undermine the more than five decades of leadership this fraternity has demonstrated in the fight for racial equality and diversity on our college campuses,” he said.

The Ole Miss Alumni Association is offering at $25,000 reward for information leading to an arrest. University Police Department Chief Calvin Sellers said the reward offer gave police some good leads in the case.

District Attorney Ben Creekmore did not immediately respond to a message left Friday by The Associated Press. However, he told WMC-TV in Memphis that criminal charges would be difficult.

Creekmore said investigators and prosecutors have looked into several misdemeanors, but he said criminal charges were unlikely by his office because the statue was not physically damaged, and the suspects did not appear to be trespassing.

He said federal investigators could opt to bring charges if they saw fit. {snip}

Ole Miss will move forward “as soon as possible” with discipline through the university’s student judicial process. That panel, which consists of both faculty and students, could choose sanctions including dismissal and barring the three from campus, Blanton said.

Get the word out to all of these white punks that stupid stunts like this is what “those people” do. Once it is established that 100% of all burning crosses, nooses, swastikas, and the N word spray painted, are caused by blacks, then The Problem becomes easier to solve.

Throw these white punks out of school, charge them with a felony, ruin their future, and perhaps 10,000 other white boys will get the message.
And, for all of you black democrats, and SPLC types who read AMREN, looking for suspects you’ll never find, we are NOT you, and do not make excuses for bad behavior.

    • Oil Can Harry

      “Charge them with a felony…”

      For littering?

  • MekongDelta69

I have no idea if this in just another hoax or not – and frankly, I don’t care.

The leftist HuffPo can get back to me when they address the incredible amount of black on white racism which NEVER gets reported.

All of us are up to ‘here’ with the racial double standards…

    • ncpride

I feel exactly the same way. Reading some of the comments on that article could be hypocrisy 101. One racial ‘incident’ out of the past 30 possibly involving a White person, and those nuts go bat**** crazy. For all you weak-kneed, silly twits on that article claiming you are ashamed to be White, believe me, no one is more ashamed you’re White more than we racially aware folk.

      • D.B. Cooper

I know the types. Case in point. I get 0 thumbs up and 3 thumbs down for my statement.

        • ncpride

In other words, die Southerner! No doubt there are many ‘lost ones’ among us, but eventually they will either see the light with the continued browning of America, or they will lay down and die at the hands of their pets. Up to them.

          • AndrewInterrupted

Mass secession, maybe 100s, seem inevitable now. I find half the people in this country intolerable. We don’t honor the same flag.

          • ncpride

I believe so as well. However, it really saddens me to no end knowing our race is the least unified on all things racial. Every other group are loyal to their own and their interests. This will have to change, and in a major way. The cracks are showing in small ways though….

          • AndrewInterrupted

I sense things are changing toward the positive.
This knucklehead, O’Bummer is really doing the work for us.

          • bilderbuster

Obama is definitely the best firearms salesman in the US.

          • Petronius

Nothing can stop the decline once the will-to-live is gone.

And unfortunately most of our people seem to have swallowed the Liberal Death Wish –– hook, line, and sinker.

It’s not in human nature to engage in self-hatred or hatred of one’s own race. We could not have survived as a species with that kind of mindset. And this attitude has taken root only since the 1950s; this kind of thinking would have been impossible before then. Yet today perhaps hundreds of millions of white Westerners are obsessed with race guilt. Why?! Where did this come from?

I think the answer is that this attitude has been taught to our impressionable young people. The James Meredith statue is one instrumentality for such teaching; it exists to remind the white students of their alleged collective racial guilt. And when the lesson is repudiated –– as in the case of these three freshmen –– the full weight of the Federal government must be brought to drive that lesson home.

It is also curious that Liberal race guilt is highly selective –– it exists only on behalf of certain brown races. There is very little if any guilt, for example, toward the Jewish race or the Southern people, who may be the populations most deserving of some expression of Western guilt.

          • Jesse James

Yes exactly, this self abasement is taught in the government schools. I remember when a young cousin of mine announced at the table that this country was stolen from the Native Americans and built on the backs of the slaves and so we have no legitimate claim to it or any of the fruits of our nation and morally we should give it back. The 1980s Australian band, Midnight Oil, had a song, “Beds are Burning” that illustrates this mindset completely.

            “The time has come
            To say fairs fair
            To pay the rent
            To pay our share

            The time has come
            A facts a fact
            It belongs to them
            Let’s give it back”

Of course they are singing about Australia and the aborigines but it illustrates the emotional falsehood at the base of the Progressive myth of the noble savage that is used to undermine the achievements of western civilization and make our young people ashamed of their heritage and so ready to cede the moral high ground.

          • Jesse James

I don’t know when it started but I can’t stand the old flag anymore. It makes me sick because it reminds me of how much we have lost and it reminds me of how those Washington jackals like Obama and Boehner always seem to have the flag in the background of their photo ops. The flag now reminds me of our negro filled civil service and how the only use the government seems to have for young white men anymore is if they want some foreigners killed right. Yet when we get back home we are shoved to the back of the line for promotions, government jobs, educational assistance, government contracts, basically any good the government could do for us is offered first to everyone else but us. When I see that flag it just reminds me that my country was defeated and occupied by enemies sworn to our destruction – twice now.

          • dd121

More proof that homogeneous societies function a whole lot better than multicultural ones.

        • DaveMed

At least he outed himself with his juvenile vulgarity.

        • LHathaway

          I’ve never heard ‘hoosker’ before.

  • I thought it was a hoax, but then I said I wish it wasn’t, that I wish it was fed up white people.

Looks like I got my wish.

    • LACountyRedneck

Should be an annual thing. 10,000 ropes. What are they gonna do?

  • There is absolutely no reason to have a statue of James Meredith on campus, any more than there is a reason to have the famous statue of an illegal immigrant on the University of Texas at San Antonio campus. These statues make a POLITICAL statement, and the noose makes one back. There is also no good reason to ruin the lives of three white young males who did nothing illegal. If you don’t want a noose on it, put a fence around around it!!

    • Katherine McChesney

I’m for taking that statue down as it was only erected because his skin was black. It’s an Affirmative Action statue.

      • Pro_Whitey

Dang, I thought black guys did it because Meredith eventually went to work for Jesse Helms, if I recall right.

        • bilderbuster

Didn’t Meredith endorse David Duke also?

      • Nathanwartooth

In America, the first black to do anything “first” that whites have been doing for a long time gets a statue, a medal and a cash reward.

  • Pelagian

College boys do really, REALLY stupid stuff. This is NEWS?

    • What was stupid about it? They answered one political statement (the existence of the statue) with another. In a sane world we would universally accept their right to do this.

      • Pelagian

Well, I’ll agree with you that no co-ed was raped and 4 boys didnt drive off US-6 and kill themselves at 3 am. So, as stupid stuff goes, you’d *much* rather have your kid doing this. But it is not helpful. If you think the statue should be removed, go the Great White Way: a-r-t-i-c-u-l-a-t-e.

    • AndrewInterrupted

Maybe they were showing solidarity with Ted Nugent. Another nit-wit who doesn’t help the cause. Libs are foaming at the mouth for any hot words they can shake in the faces of their sheeple. Thanks Ted.

  • So CAL Snowman

Meanwhile the mostly WHITE student body will continue to support the ghetto thugs and rapists that play for the football team. I’m sure there is this kind of rage and hand wringing when a black football player rapes a White co-ed or assaults a White computer science student right?

    • D.B. Cooper

What really irritates the H-LL out of me is when I read this article, there was a picture of the crowd protesting it. One of them was this goofy, blond headed fool without a clue.

  • connorhus

So even if this isn’t a hoax and instead is more like the Cotton Ball Incident that took place at the University of Missouri a few years back can anyone tell me exactly what these boys did that was illegal?

There was no damage, perhaps you could get them for hateful littering?

And this takes an FBI investigation?

A couple of other questions. Where is the statue of the first student? I mean shouldn’t there be one so every student can celebrate equally?

Where is the disparate impact suit since not having a first White Student statue effects the Whites far more than other racial groups?

    • AndrewInterrupted

There are actually hangman’s noose laws on the books.
You legally can’t make a traditional noose.
Maybe others no more about it. I think it’s federal. Not sure.

      • connorhus

That wouldn’t surprise me at all. Doesn’t change the fact though that by true and rightful Law they did nothing wrong. No property damage or even a mess to clean up really.

        • AndrewInterrupted

I was Googling around. It’s at the state level. I noticed CT and NY had some laws pertaining to it. I guess there isn’t a federal one. They are trying to incorporate it into the federal cross-burning laws.

      • A Freespeechzone

There are laws that are supposed to prevent convicted criminals from having guns—yet from what I see, they are rarely enforced, or the National Guard would be disarming thug gangs.

The govt and liberals would rather go after the so-called law abiding, who, at some point, are told that free speech and certain activities protected by the Constitution are now illegal–and that laws that are on the books to protect us from invaders (illegals) are never going to be enforced.

There will be a time when the majority will take the same stance of adhering to laws when they feel like it…..we still outnumber them..

        • AndrewInterrupted

Our last chances to return America to Americans happens during 2014 & 2016.

If we continue to be cats that refuse to be herded, we are doomed.

        • Romulus

Your familiar with ayn rand’s quote that pertains to an authority that implements so many laws, that the people they govern have no alternative but to break them.
All will be outlaws to be” corrrrected” (like the bald guy did to his kids in the shining)

          • AndrewInterrupted

Yes, but I rely on people quoting Ayn Rand. I don’t have the attention span to read 1,200 pages (Atlas Shrugged).

Dr. Helen Smith quotes Rand often in her book: Men On Strike. She compares modern day American men as having ‘…Gone (John) Galt…’

  • Nathanwartooth

    But why?

I’m guessing it was a joke or prank with no racial malice.

I would be shocked if they were “real” racists.

    • bilderbuster

I believe it was a work of art. Andres Serrano the half Honduran half Black Cuban urinated in a jar with a crucifix in it & received a government grant for it.
They are artists expressing themselves & next time they should bring jars of their urine & pour it on the statue in order to purify it.

  • DaveMed

  • shawnmer

Stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid move. This stuff does nothing to further our cause and gives oxygen to the enemy.

And as for the national frat’s need to “conduct a review to ensure that members’ values align with those espoused by the organization,” I hope no other fraternity brother has perused Amren, Vdare, or other race realist sites on school computers.

No unauthorized thinking will be allowed.

  • Reverend Bacon

Yes, they failed to realize the environment in which we live. I wish they hadn’t done it, because as one poster aptly said, it gives oxygen to the enemy.

But think about it: the guy who was the first black guy at the school, and they put a noose around his neck. It’s pretty creative, and pretty funny. Frankly, it might have been funny if they had put a black power medallion on him, or sagging pants, or a hoodie, or — my favorite– a bag of skittles and a watermelon drink.

Years ago, college students everywhere were putting up “shanty towns” in the middle of their campuses, in supposed solidarity with South Africa. The shanties were simple lean-tos, which some of the kids were sleeping in. At one campus, someone had written some graffiti on one of the shanties. It read, “if you lived here, you’d be home now.”

Guess what? No one called the FBI.

We have lost our way, and jokes really aren’t appreciated anymore.

  • University of Texas at San Antonio has seen students protesting the “Border Crossing” statue of an illegal immigrant. There’s no reason to honor illegals and there’s no reason to honor James Meredith. If my wishes were fulfilled, both statues would be run down by a bulldozer.

    • AndrewInterrupted

They have a border crossing statue? Good grief.

    • jeffaral

Someone should destroy this monstrosity with a sledgehammer

    • Spartacus

Someone needs to knock that thing down . Now .

      • AndrewInterrupted

Make sure there are plenty of cameras running so the historic moment can be immortalized in the new America as tantamount to a Saddam Hussein or Vladimir Lenin statue coming down.

        • Katherine McChesney

          Or the Berlin Wall.

    • IstvanIN

There is a difference between James Meredith, a citizen regardless of anyone’s opinion of his accomplishment (perhaps the armed guards who let him on campus should be homered?) and an illegal alien who, by deffinintion , shouldn’t be here and is at best a criminal and at worst an invader. The only people who would put up a statue of an criminal invader would be the conquerors.

  • Einsatzgrenadier

If they believe that NWO tool James Meredith deserved a noose around his neck, then they should have every right to express these sentiments in public. The right to free speech should always come before the feelings of diversity. We can do without diversity, but we do need our right to freedom of speech.

  • OhWow

    Witch hunt.

Nothing is worse than being “racist”. The mainstream media thinks it’s worse than death.

  • Spartacus

All this just for being “suspected” ? What happened to their “right of due process”, “innocent until proven guilty”, and all the other rayciss cracka notions?

The fact that this is a big deal to begin with speaks volumes….

  • LACountyRedneck

They hung a rope. So what. No harm done. The brainwashing White guilt education continues. Hanging a rope harms nobody.

  • Garrett Brown

They suspended them BEFORE they could prove they did it? Modern definition of justice eh?

  • Truth Teller

D.B. Cooper did you read the article? The DA could find nothing with which to charge them.
We need to defend our own, much as the blacks defend murders like O.J. and blacks who rape, murder and disable Whites.
I’ve read another article about this. Apparently other members of Sigma Phi snitched when the alumni association offered the reward. No arrest can be made because no crime was committed they will not get the reward.
The entire fraternity has been suspended by the national organization. They will undergo massive amounts of brainwashing or the rest of the school year. The snitches will have to undergo the brainwashing ha ha ha
D.B.Cooper I am ashamed of you.

  • Truth Teller

The DA, Creekmore, spend a lot of time looking for something, anything with which to charge them He found nothing.
I applaud these boys, they stood up for Whites, unlike the White students who ignore rape of White students by black animals. Anyone who thinks those boys should be charged with a (nonexistent) felony and have their lives ruined is just another traitor. I only hope 10,000 other White boys follow their lead.

  • Truth Teller

    Jesse James
I totally agree with you about the flag. It hangs in front of my post office and library which are right next to each other. Post office all black, library mostly black.
I’ve said it before, if I ever buy a farm, I’ll paint a flag on the bed of the manure spreader.

    • AndrewInterrupted

I noticed the Black Supremacist, Eric Holder, doesn’t like the ‘Don’t tread on me’ flag much. He had the Navy SEALs remove that symbol from their uniforms. Any flag that Holder doesn’t like is the flag for me.

  • Chris Granzow XI

All this for hanging a noose on a statue? It seems like overkill to me. When someone does something extremely racist against whites they don’t even get so much as a slap on the wrist.

    • Ograf

It is ridiculous the knockout game isn’t racist when it is black on white, but heaven forbid you mess with a statue. Raciss whites.

  • Harvey42

This doesn’t warrant any concern or attention. Did it take thirty seconds to remove the rope and flag?

  • negrolocaust

BACK!! TO!! AFRICA!! NOW!! i am sick of these subhuman mongrels

  • chuck_2012

To me it sounds like some good ole boys playing a harmless prank. After all there was on one swinging from the noose? Besides it reinforces among blacks to mind their manners and be good.

  • LHathaway

You can claim them as ours. Personally, I don’t. Whether they are just angry white men, or more likely, trying to make some kind of point about ‘oppression’ – all the better, hope they are severely punished. It’s reached the point where leftists suffer under leftists. Stupid ones, anyway. And ones all the more dangerous to us. Would be interesting to see how this affects the rest of their lives.
