To commemorate and celebrate the contributions to our nation made by people of African descent, American historian Carter G. Woodson established Black History Week. The first celebration occurred on Feb. 12, 1926. For many years, the second week of February was set aside for this celebration to coincide with the birthdays of abolitionist/editor Frederick Douglass and Abraham Lincoln. In 1976, as part of the nation’s bicentennial, the week was expanded into Black History Month. Each year, U.S. presidents proclaim February as National African-American History Month.

Note: The reference to the black population in this publication is to single-race blacks (“black alone”) except in the first section on “Population.” In that section the reference is to black alone or in combination with other races; a reference to respondents who said they were one race (black) or more than one race (black plus other races).

Oh geez – is it THAT time of year again?

Should I lift a ‘foty’ in honor of “National African-American History Month”?

I’d like to make my own list of ‘contributions’ made by the ‘perpetually oppressed and discrimated against’ crowd:
Were you REALLY waiting for a list?

    • NeanderthalDNA

I always go to KFC for MLK day. Honoring the man, honoring the race.

I’ll get the white meat, though it costs more. Blacks get it, it seems.

  • Puggg

I’m glad that they picked the shortest month to be black history month.

Then I realized that black history month lasts all the way from Kwanzaa to Juneteenth.

  • “77.4m blacks in 2060”

Just what I’ll want as an 83rd birthday present.

    “2.4m black veterans”

I didn’t know the Armed Services needed that many janitors and cooks.

“Blacks in New York, Cook County Illinois, Houston, Holmes County, Miss., etc.”

Thanks for the convenient list of places to avoid.

    “83.2% of blacks 25+ have HS/GED”

Is high school that easy these days?

And if you think that’s something, feh. 97% of all Detroit residents hold kindergarten degrees.

“Blacks with college degrees or graduate degrees”

Again, is undergrad or grad school that easy these days?

    “3.7m blacks in college”

Really big benches on the football or basketball teams.

    “17.8m blacks voted in 2012”

George Washington turning over in his grave.

“Blacks voted in 2012 higher than in 2008, only group to do so”

That has mostly been demolished as a myth. The only sub-groups of blacks to vote in higher percentages in 2012 over 2008, and in fact, the only demographics period to do so, were black women 45-64 and black women 65+, especially the latter.

    “$33,321 median black household income”

I didn’t know welfare paid that well.

    “27.2% black poverty rate”

    Po’ folks.

    “81% health insurance coverage rate.”

You’re welcome, so saith a taxpayer.

    “9.8m black families”

Get the Ebonics right, bigot. It’s “famblies.”

    “45.7% married couples”

What, does this mean no sex with anyone else?

“1.3m black grandparents raising their U18 grandchildren”

While mama trolls the nightclubs for the father of her next one she’ll dump on grandma.

“28.1% of blacks work in management, business, science, arts”

    EEOC bureaucrats.

    • bilderbuster

All I can say is you’re too kind.

      • If you really mean that, then that proves that you’re not one of my ex g/fs.

If you’re being sarcastic, then you sound just like almost all of my ex g/fs.

        • bilderbuster

I’m not a female but that was good sarcasm as in : That was funny & they should be grateful you weren’t much harsher on them when you easily could have been. LOL!

  • LACounty

We need a Black Criminal History Month.

    • DudeWheresMyCountry?

You will need at least a 31 day month. Perhaps a season.

      • LACounty

        There’s no rush.

      • Alexandra1973

        It’s all year!

    • Non Humans

Thats every month of every year thats anywhere near nonhumans. On a sidenote, mention and recognition of their plentiful criminal acts is the only way that they should be memorialized.

    • Black Criminal History Month is 12 months per year. We can always ask Channon Christian.

    • DNA Explains It All

That is already the other 11 months, hell even FEB.

  • Druid

Here’s a fact for black history month. After the “Rumble in the jungle” fight in Zaire in 1974 between Muhammad Ali and George Foreman, Ali was asked by a reporter how he liked Africa? Ali responded, “Thank God my granddaddy made it on that boat (slave ship).”

    • bilderbuster

He isn’t a fan of interracial couples either.

  • GeneticsareDestiny

I’m surprised their average annual income is $33,321. That’s much higher than I expected. I would have guessed something like $25,000 per year.

I wonder if the number in the article counts welfare or not.

    • Non Humans

That number is probably inflated by 40%+/- to compensate for their drug dealing and robbery supplements.

  • Trevor Pilsbury

The black race continues to be the most violent race while at the same time the most helpless race, completely dependant on the white race for any decent standard of living. “Alpha males?” RIGHT!

    • bilderbuster

      A child’s brain in an adult’s body.

    • Karolina

And don’t forget the most obnoxious, arrogant, proud (wtf do they have to be proud about???), and childish!

  • DudeWheresMyCountry?

So what are we supposed to celebrate? That Black people exist? If anything Black history month reminds the witty and the weak that there is nothing significant to celebrate… unless we have stooped so low that their mere existence outside if their natural Stone Age place is something to recognize and lament, regardless of the immense consequences. Really?? National embarrassment month would be much more accurate.

    • Non Humans

National Useless Bipedal Ape Month. Lets celebrate their crime, displacement of productive peoples, and otherwise drain and burden upon civilization.

      • NeanderthalDNA

Can we go on a bloody crime spree to celebrate?

        • Non Humans

          It would be my pleasure!

          • NeanderthalDNA

That guy’s hair in your avatar is a crime against humanity.

          • That is a badger.

          • Non Humans

I dont remember where I picked up the pick. I do remember laughing so hard it gave me hiccups though.

    • MBlanc46

You’re obviously forgetting about the traffic signal and peanut butter.

      • DudeWheresMyCountry?

        And saggy pants.

      • bilderbuster

They couldn’t even invent the wheel in Africa.
A Stone Age people that will always have a Stone Age mentality & will always hate us because even we can’t help them change that.

        • Gibb2

Africa is beyond salvation, and the Africans like it that way.

      • Thomas_More

If we accept anthropological theory, Homo Erectus originated in Africa and after great environmental stress (damn, no SUVs to blame for the climate change) begin streaming out of Africa 1.5 million years ago. Obviously the intellectually gifted more innovative members hit the road and populated Europe and Asia.

        • MBlanc46

And encountered winter, which required some real adaptation.

    • Druid

Interestingly, it was just confirmed to me that my letter to the editor would be placed in the weekly local paper tomorrow. I was surprisd they are going to run it. I speak of “black history month,” but from our point of view, brining up the obvious, black separate groups within all spheres of society and end up saying it seems the black people have rejected MLK’s dream. Let’s see what comes of this.

      • Alexandra1973

If there’s an online version, post a link!

  • Spartacus

They forgot a few things, like the murder rate, rape rate, and so forth .

African Americans are the racial/ethnic group most affected by HIV.

African Americans accounted for an estimated 44% of all new HIV infections among adults and adolescents (aged 13 years or older) in 2010, despite representing only 12% to14% of the US population.

In 2010, black men accounted for 70% (14,700) of the estimated 20,900 new HIV infections among all adult and adolescent blacks. The estimated rate of new HIV infection for black men (103.6/100,000 population) was seven times as high as that of white men, twice as high as that of Latino men, and nearly three times as high as among black women.

In 2010, black gay, bisexual, and other men who have sex with men (MSM) represented an estimated 72% (10,600) of new infections among all black men and 36% of an estimated 29,800 new HIV infections among all MSM. More new HIV infections (4,800) occurred among young black MSM (aged 13-24) than any other age or racial group of MSM.

In 2010, black women accounted for 6,100 (29%) of the estimated new HIV infections among all adult and adolescent blacks. This number represents a decrease of 21% since 2008. Most HIV infections among black women (87%; 5,300) are attributed to heterosexual sex. The estimated rate of new HIV infections for black women (38.1/100,000 population) was 20 times as high as the rate for white women, and almost five times as high as that of Latinas.

    • bilderbuster

HIV better get those numbers up if it ever wants to become “The Great White Hope”.

    • Homo_Occidentalis

      HIV: the fruit of miscegenation.

      • paul marchand

        ONE of the fruits.

    • paul marchand

Black IDU rates of HIV are, per capita, about 10x that of whites.
Extrapolate: the black usage of intravenous drugs ( esp heroin) are going to be right in that area as well.

  • Bartek

If their was a White history month Whites could celebrate their ‘responsibility’ and self indulgent life styles and pat themselves on the back for reducing their percentage of the USA population.
In 1960 Whites made up 88.8% of the USA population. But after thorough indoctrination and extension of childhood (known in mass media as ‘higher education’) by 2060 it is projected Whites will make up 61.3%.
    How ‘progressive’.

    • Homo_Occidentalis

Whites will be MUCH less than 61.3%. I think you possibly meant 41.3%.

    • saxonsun

We’d certainly need a lot longer than a mere month to celebrate white greatness.

  • bigone4u

In the spirit of goodwill (sarc), I went to the NAACP website for some more useful info that the schools promoting black history month can use. ALL you libtards, keep these stats in mind:

African Americans now constitute nearly 1 million of the total 2.3 million incarcerated population
African Americans are incarcerated at nearly six times the rate of whites
Together, African American and Hispanics comprised 58% of all prisoners in 2008, even though African Americans and Hispanics make up approximately one quarter of the US population
According to Unlocking America, if African American and Hispanics were incarcerated at the same rates of whites, today’s prison and jail populations would decline by approximately 50%
One in six black men had been incarcerated as of 2001. If current trends continue, one in three black males born today can expect to spend time in prison during his lifetime
1 in 100 African American women are in prison
Nationwide, African-Americans represent 26% of juvenile arrests, 44% of youth who are detained, 46% of the youth who are judicially waived to criminal court, and 58% of the youth admitted to state prisons (Center on Juvenile and Criminal Justice).

Credit where it is genuinely deserved, but in Britain our “Black History” is glaringly threadbare. There are a miniscule number of mixed-race characters of genuine merit, like Walter Tull (footballer and war hero) and Samuel Colderidge-Taylor (musician), but the lost has to be swollen with entertainment or sporting personalities, or people like Mary Seacole whi ran a wartime cafe for army officers and has been falsely presented, even in school lessons, as equal to or better than Florence Nightingale. Of course, “Slavery” is getting publicity, if not quite on the “Holocaust” scale. But blacks and whites would both be better off without this mutually embarrassing encumbrance.

    • IstvanIN

The UK shouldn’t have black history, unless you are referring to the Empire.

      • David Ashton

Tell our Government, the BBC and the schools, not me.

  • Grant3131

I GUARANTEE if these stats are self reported THEN THE…
    (1) ‘blacks in college’
    (2) ‘blacks with a HS diploma’
    (3) ‘blacks that voted’
    ARE PROBABLY 10-20% lower

  • Non Humans

Thats not intimidating or worrisome in the least. As Paul Kersey puts it, the Day that the EBT runs out is the first of the last of days for the vast majority of nonhumans. Their very vices that we speak of everyday, will be what most efficiently thins their numbers. Calling stuff wayciss is only effective bc the libtards are receptive to their childish complaints.
When the economy implodes, the libtards wont have the abilty or the influence to care. When it happens, no one will be able to afford to be libtarded.
The day that the ebt runs out will come well before 2060.

    • Hitting your target.

All these future projections of a vastly higher black population, both in BRA-Amurrika and in Africa itself and worldwide is making some audacious assumptions, the most crucial of which is that white societies will continue to be as prosperous as they are or more, in order to fund domestic and global welfare checks.

  • Aaron997

You know what I’m talking about…

  • Einsatzgrenadier

The whole purpose of black history month is to make up for a total lack of black achievement by feeding them a series of outright historical fabrications in order to stroke black egos. Everyone knows that blacks never accomplished anything of significance in America, even when they were just farm equipment under the whip of the southern planters.

A more accurate name for black history month is mulatto history month. The vast majority of prominent black figures in America are seldom full-blooded Afreakan negroes.

    • paul marchand

Au contrare: they HAVE accomplished ONE major thing: having the US federal government revolve around them.
As whites run for the nearest ( or farthest ) niche to insulate themselves, the federal govt is accelerating it all. “Diverse housing” coming to a town near you.

  • haroldcrews

There is an intellectual disconnect with Black History Month. But that is hardly the only disconnect in those celebrating diversity. They simultaneously celebrate black accomplishments that are supposedly significant enough to have a societal impact and proclaim that blacks were systematically excluded from any sort of influence. It is possible of course that a few blacks were able to get through the systemic discrimination and achieve greatness. But that lessens the alleged all pervasive persecution on the verge of genocide meme that is also pushed. Either the oppression was all pervasive and complete or there was some liberty and room for achievement by blacks in a white dominated society.

  • paul marchand

As whites fade, why do we * pay ? * have to furnish the jobs ? *
Why the affirmative action, quotas? For “minorities” ? Can’t they start their own businesses?

    • paul marchand

If now is not the time to simply quit paying taxes to the monster, when is?
