Michelle Obama’s Princeton Classmate Is Executive at Company That Built Obamacare Website

Patrick Howley, Daily Caller, October 25, 2013

First Lady Michelle Obama’s Princeton classmate is a top executive at the company that earned the contract to build the failed Obamacare website.

Toni Townes-Whitley, Princeton class of ’85, is senior vice president at CGI Federal, which earned the no-bid contract to build the $678 million Obamacare enrollment website at Healthcare.gov. CGI Federal is the U.S. arm of a Canadian company.

Townes-Whitley and her Princeton classmate Michelle Obama are both members of the Association of Black Princeton Alumni.

Toni Townes ’85 is a onetime policy analyst with the General Accounting Office and previously served in the Peace Corps in Gabon, West Africa. Her decision to return to work, as an African-American woman, after six years of raising kids was applauded by a Princeton alumni publication in 1998

As reported by the Washington Examiner in early October, the Department of Health and Human Services reviewed only CGI’s bid for the Obamacare account. CGI was one of 16 companies qualified under the Bush administration to provide certain tech services to the federal government. A senior vice president for the company testified this week before The House Committee on Energy and Commerce that four companies submitted bids, but did not name those companies or explain why only CGI’s bid was considered.

Whites are also guilty of crony capitalism also but the difference is whites know that they at least have to make whatever they are selling work. Blacks understand corruption but they just don’t do as well with competence. Usually it isn’t that big of a deal because they are normally doing something useless to begin with like designing and operating a community outreach or AA program. You really don’t want them to run a subway system or design and build an airplane. Anyway why in heck are we using a Canadian Company anyway? I mean America’s economy is struggling and many skilled people are out of work and so Obama’s team lets the contract out of country? In a sane world that decision alone would put a stake in his lame duck presidency even if the system worked.

    • Puggg

The difference is that we tend to know that it’s wrong on some level, and if we do do it, to get while the gettin’s good. For blacks, what we call “crony capitalism” is just a way of life, not to be given a second thought much less made unacceptable or deviant.

    • So CAL Snowman

Hey they only spent $394 million “building” a website that doesn’t work and can’t even handle 60k users! I mean it’s not like they wasted $500 million building an addition to the Smithsonian celebrating African-American history and culture right?

      • Bon, From the Land of Babble

Because they used Commodore 64s to build the site.

        • MekongDelta69

Are you SURE it wasn’t an Atari Pong game?!

  • Whitetrashgang

AH AH AH Here is the future kids. Who said being functionally illiterate was a bad thing? I wonder if both the Obamas or this woman can even read or write above a grade 5 level and look where they are .Assc of black Princeton alumni building Americas future one failure at a time.

    • libertarian1234

“I wonder if both the Obamas or this woman can even read or write above a grade 5 level.

I think Obama could be a low average college grad, but not Moochelle. Her college thesis sounded like she was a high school student, and she had help on it to boot.

And the only subject she could write about was race….and it was constant whining about racism from her peers.

      • Erasmus

Affirmative Action[reverse discrimination] is a hidden tax on everyone.

BTW, is there anything beside race (and basketball) blacks can publicly comment on? When’s the last time you heard a newsbabe solicit the opinion of a black on foreign policy, the economy or a scientific discovery?

  • Spartacus

    That thing is a woman ? Ewww…

  • libertarian1234

My first thought when the online Obamacare site kept crashing and/or going haywire was that a bunch of blacks had been hired to do the work.

I have to check into it a bit more, but I’m pretty sure the evidence will show that there are….at the very least….. too many unqualified blacks involved in the project at all levels.

This is a black run government that thinks that blacks running everything would be no different than whites running everything up till now.

We’re morphing into a version of Haiti, Zimbabwe and South Africa. The whole world is laughing.

    • Spartacus

The world’s not laughing, it’s following in your foot-steps…

Coincidence. (sarcasm) Also a coincidence the classmate is black. (sarcasm)

By what reasoning was this 680 million contract a “no bid” contract? The usual reason they give is that only one company can do the job. Not so in this case. There are many companies who can do this work. If an RFP (Request for Proposal) had been issued I suspect the bid would have come in under 50 million and the work would have been accomplished and we wouldn’t be having this conversation. By the way, this is not an example of “crony capitalism”. It is old fashioned graft and corruption.

    • Jesse James

Graft and corruption is just an older term which basically means the same thing, though graft is a more precise term. “Graft is defined as using public stature to gain illegal benefit.” Wiki describes “crony capitalism” as:

“Crony capitalism is a term describing an economy in which
success in business depends on close relationships between business
people and government officials. It may be exhibited by favoritism in
the distribution of legal permits, government grants, special tax breaks, or other forms of dirigisme.[1] Crony capitalism is believed to arise when political cronyism spills over into the business world; self-serving
friendships and family ties between businessmen and the government
influence the economy and society to the extent that it corrupts public-serving economic and political ideals.”

I do think this isn’t a bad description of the entire process of writing the ACA legislation with much of the act being directly written by lobbyist, the granting of favored parties exclusion from requirements of the law, and in this case the letting of a 600 million contract to a foreign firm with no bid.

      • dd121

I don’t disagree and won’t split hairs. What they are doing is using their position to award millions in overpriced contracts to their political friends. It’s wrong, it’s illegal and the checks that used to be in place are either gone or don’t work. These democrats are shamelessly running our government like a third world operation. And our guardians of democracy, the press, cheer them.

        • Jesse James

          Agreed.

  • Bon, From the Land of Babble

First Lady Michelle Obama’s Princeton classmate is a top executive at the company that earned the contract to build the failed Obamacare website

This contract had AA, cronyism, nepotism, graft and corruption written all over it. Reminds me of a Third World dictator that siphons of billions of dollars for himself and friends to cache directly into Swiss bank accounts.

Republicans are all over this, right? Issa will be on it, right?

A no-bid contract going out to blacks — who then used an obsolete system to build a disastrous failure?

No further explanation needed as to why the obamacare website does not work.

    Bon

    • Erasmus

This contract had AA, cronyism, nepotism, graft and corruption written all over it.
      _______________________________________________________________
EVERYTHING the Obamas have their hands on has AA, cronyism, nepotism, graft and corruption written all over it. As I’ve said before, the Obamas are doing for the country what they helped do to Chicongo.

  • Chris Granzow XI

Doesn’t surprise me. This is today’s “old boys network,” except the people aren’t white and they don’t actually get the job done right. This sort of thing exists in a lot of public school systems and public offices.

    • Erasmus

I’m sure this is exactly how they did it back in the old country, where Barack’s daddy hailed from.

      • Katherine McChesney

His ‘daddy’ was Frank Marshal Davis. Barry looks nothing like barack senior.

    • Sick of it

Said network is filling our government with even more incompetent black workers.

  • MekongDelta69

Does Princeton have an Association of White Princeton Alumni?
    (Just ‘axin’)

    • dd121

Yep, they meet right after the Congressional White Caucus.

      • Erasmus

and before the National Association for the Advancement of White People (NAAWP) meeting.

  • Michelle Obama’s lesbian lover?

    • Slappy McGee

      From all indications, yes.

  • Rhialto

You racist people are so so wrong, Dr. Townes-Whitley was the brains behind the the computer system that powers the NSA eavesdropping network that has been spying on America’s “allies”. The collapse and prolapse of the Obamanian website could not have been her fault, but in spite of her Herculean mental efforts.

  • odious liberal

    Afro engineering at its best.

  • MBlanc46

Thank you, Princeton, for all your affirmative action “graduates”.

  • Luca

A $678 million NO BID contract. As if this is the only company on planet earth that can build a website.

This leaves room to hire $28 million dollars worth of Asian-American whizz kids to build it and $650 million in kick backs, paybacks and funny money for the Obama’s upcoming retirement, all compliments of the US taxpayer.

I saw the exact same thing happen in City government to the tune of $10 million and when the investigation got started the files mysteriously disappeared. My best guess is behind closed doors the black purchasing agent was told he could either leave the building with retirement papers or handcuffs. I am sure he laughed all the way to the bank.

  • IanJMacDonald

I knew it! The moment that I first heard that Barry Soetoro’s website has FUBAR, I knew right away that they had awarded the contract to an affirmative action company.

  • fuzzypook

What a shock. The bantu led company creates a disaster. Remember the EBT mess about a week ago? Check out Xerox (that caused the mess) CEO Ursula Burns and it will make more sense.

    • I used to mess around at work when I had down time and thought it would be very profitable to create to create a “Short Diversity Index”, short as in short stock. They are going to crash the companies they run, might as well profit off it.

      • Chris Granzow XI

Brilliant. A while ago I figured the same applies to investing in countries, too. Back when there was all this fuss about the “Brics” nations, I knew the only countries who would really deliver were China and Russia (to a lesser extent).

        • Sick of it

What are your thoughts regarding the Russian search engine Yandex?

          • Chris Granzow XI

As an investment /stock? Or just if I like using it lol?

          • Sick of it

            Both actually.

          • Chris Granzow XI

Yea its basically the russian equivalent of google; search engine, browser etc. They even copied the streetview from google (they call it ‘panorama’ though). It’s pretty decent especially if you’re looking for content in russian straight from russia, as it has a large domestic market share. Same thing with vkontakte being their equivalent of facebook.

  • A Freespeechzone

Give her time; it’s only a matter of time before it’s alleged that a group of White Conservatives sabotaged this website….

Like Obama, this woman and her ilk will NEVER admit their failures and inability to actually create a product of value that works….

Watch, more money will be given to them to ‘fix’ the website….

  • Biff_Maliboo

“Her decision to return to work, as an African-American woman, after six
years of raising kids was applauded by a Princeton alumni publication
    in 1998.”

So what was she before she was an ‘African American woman?’

    • Six letters.

    • Major

Well…for any black that’s an unusual accomplishment…takin’ care of the chillin.

  • robinbishop34

And they tell us the technical and management staff for companies like Apple and Microsoft need to be more diverse?

    • Which one do you think she will be working for next?

  • Sick of it

$678 million dollars…no bid contract…affirmative action software company…what could go wrong?

  • Formerly_Known_as_Whiteplight

I already commented on the CNN website that the general reason government “doesn’t work” is because of decades of AA hiring and “The Peter Principle,” but this revelation is beyond it, or at least AAX10 (squared)!

I recall the stories from Zimbabwe and SA about how blacks would routinely replaced whites at facilities such as hydroelectric plants at dams. The result was breakdown of equipment and loss of service. They actually believed that magic made the things run! We have a bit of that now at our highest levels. While I am sure the website problems will be fixed (remember that Microsoft is famous for this too), the cost of it to the taxpayers and the guaranteed mismanagement this illustrates will not be fixed. This is another reason why I always say that we are heading for a complete, and thorough collapse of “the civilized world” as we know it. Just remember that being white won’t automatically save you (nor will your religion).

  • Katherine McChesney

It’s rich, isn’t it, that they claim to have built the pyramids, yet they are unqualified to build the homes in their own neighborhoods? Nor do they keep them in repair. Take a ride through a black neighborhood and see the abundance of fine and expensive automobiles parked in front of shacks.

    • I don’t think the pyramids were built by blacks. I thought the ruling classes of Egypt in the mid 3rd millenium BC were white?

  • Major

Yea…all true…but graft and bling bling know no limitations or boundaries. Besides…they’re “owed” these reparations cause they were so mistreated by the White Panther Party at Princeton.

And like the majority of blacks in power positions, elected or not…..they’ll steal openly from the cookie jar, for their “brothers and sista’s” of course.

  • Just plagerized now directly from Fox News:

Taxpayers shell out $52,000 a year to maintain the home of Black
History Month founder Carter Woodson. Yet the tiny, dilapidated row
house in northwest Washington D.C., with a “No Trespassing” sign and
iron bars blocking the front door and windows hasn’t seen a visitor in
the seven years since the National Park Service bought it for $2.1
million and designated it a National Historic Site.

This appeared under the topic that national parks are falling into disrepair while their 2.6 B$ budget is being wasted on PC necessary items.

I guess ‘they’ feel that money has no value and they can always get it for free from working rich white folks. I wonder how long this can be sustained?

  • An analysis appearing somewhere into the issue of “wealth disparities among racial groups” found that blacks are less likely than white to invest.

Thus the ill-gotten gains will be invested in bling, ultra-thin wheel rims, and status symbols. It will not last them beyond 1 more generation e.g. their kids will be able to cash in some of the bling but their grandchildren will have to start from scratch.
