Horror as Rapper Is Shot on Stage in Front of 3,000 Fans in Brazil

Felix Allen, The Sun, July 9, 2013

This is the shocking moment a rapper was shot dead while performing on stage.

Mobile phone footage shows MC Daleste suddenly collapsing after he takes a bullet in the abdomen.

The video shows the rapper—real name Daniel Pellegrine—suddenly recoil then slump to the ground. {snip}

The 20-year-old Brazilian star died in hospital shortly after he was shot during a free gig for 3,000 fans in Campinas, 50 miles north of Sao Paulo, on Saturday.

New York-based DJ Béco, who is from Sao Paulo, said: “This is one more sad event in a long history of urban violence in Brazil.

“Music should be the peaceful medium that connects us all for good times and for change.”

[Editor’s Note: Just this week, a soccer referee was beheaded in Brazil.]

  • Was it the Sopranos, where some musician was failing to sell, so he was killed in order to increase sales?

    • Nathanwartooth

What happened was the rapper wanted to get shot to up his “street cred” so he hires Bobby to shoot him in the leg. But Bobby misses and shoots him in the butt.

      • MBlanc46

I’d be happy to enhance the “street cred” of all of them.

    • sbuffalonative

I’m not sure about the Sopranos but SNL did a similar skit in the ’90’s.

      • The__Bobster

And George Costanza was frustrated when his dying artist managed to pull through.

  • Between soccer beheadings and rap concert assassinations, who would be crazy enough to want to hold major international events in Brazil? Oh yeah, FIFA and the IOC.

New York-based DJ Béco, who is from Sao Paulo, said: “This is one more sad event in a long history of urban violence in Brazil.

Urban violence which would be coming soon to New York, except that New York already has enough of its own violent domestic non-whites.

    • The__Bobster

The Brazilian police are brutal. I expect them to sweep the streets of each and every malefactor.

  • Spartacus

And now all the other brain-dead thugs are gonna see this, and think : “He shoot him in front of 3000 people? I’m gonna shoot someone in front of 5000, that’ll show them I’m fo’ real ! “

    • Oil Can Harry

Somewhere William Hung is watching this video and gasping “Wow, and I thought I died on stage!”

  • jambi19

Remember this happens all the time with white people too. Read the comments on the original article as they infer this circumstance is just as likely to occur in Utah or Vermont as it is in Brazil.

    • Sick of it

People don’t usually get shot in Los Estados Unidos when giving a FREE concert. If it’s that bad, you just leave…it’s not like you lost anything by attending. Apparently even free entertainment has to be top notch in Brasil…OR ELSE.

      • Jefferson

Actually you are 100% wrong. People have been stabbed, beaten, and shot in rap concerts in The United States.

Like for example at The Hip Hop Source Awards. Just because Black Americans live in a 1st world country , it does not mean they behave like how people in a 1st world country are suppose to behave.

        • Sick of it

You can tell I don’t attend many rap concerts…

        • Gislia Jackson

They need to hire the Hell’s Angel’s for security, like the Stones did at Altamont. They sure as hell kept the audience, as well as the brain dead hippy bands, in line. All for the cost of all the free beer the Angels could drink.

          • Hell’s Angels have too much self-respect to work security at a (c)rap concert.

          • Gislia Jackson

I was making a joke (I’m sure you understood that) but you make a good point. Still, the mental image of Sonny and the rest of the Oakland Angels throwing full cans of beer at rap “artists” onstage instead of the hippies in the Altamont audience makes me smile. Your point, however, is well taken. There was a point, way back in the day, when it would have been nearly as dangerous for a black to ride a Harley in Angel territory as to be seen after dark in a “sundown” town.

        • Erasmus

Look who/what attends rap concerts. Rap concerts are dangerous for the same reason inner city skoo’s and wherever youfs gather are.

    • Erasmus

Yes, concert pianists are shot to death all the time in front of audiences.

      Celebrate diversity!

  • vladdy1

“Music”? Got a definition problem there.

  • sbuffalonative

For years, they have been telling us that Brazil is a multiracial nation and that this is our future.

    They may be right.

    • The__Bobster

Yeah, a country where the rich Whites have to live behind walls and have bodyguards at their sides when they go out in public.

      • Sick of it

Don’t shed any tears for them. We regular folks are gonna be up a creek without a paddle.

        • The__Bobster

          Oh yeah, we’re screwed.

      • MBlanc46

        It ain’t easy being rich.

  • anarchyst

. . . another piece of human garbage bites the dust . . . GOOD!!!

  • No beheading or dismemberment. I’m disappointed.

    • Aditya Vivek Barot

Yes. The indolence is quite disappointing. One goes to a rap “concert” expecting a real show, some real effort. They need to step up.

    • Aditya Vivek Barot

Is this our fate in another generation?

  • WR_the_realist

In Brazil they keep it real.

  • So CAL Snowman

    Fun facts about Brazil :

    – Brazil has a population of approximately 190 million people, 48% of whom identify as White, 43% of whom identify as brown (multiracial) and 7% whom identify as black

    – Brazil averages over 40,000 homicides a year compared to 15,000 for the United States

Even with 120 million fewer people Brazil still manages to have almost 3x more homicides than the US! What amazes me is the incredibly high numbers of Pardos (mixed race) individuals and how that related to the incredibly high numbers of homicides. It seems that the natural tendency towards violence found in the african genes is not held in check by any amount of European DNA.

This is the future for America that is so eagerly anticipated by Tim Wise and his fellow diversity mongers.

Pat Buchanan has said that if immigration isn’t stopped, we will become the Brazil of North America.

Tim JACOB Wise, to be exact. He is someone who thinks like this guy:

And Zuckerberg, AND Goldman Sachs…hmmm. any common denominator amongst them?

        • MarcusTrajanus

No, he’s called Israel a fascist country.

Brownzil would be the best country ever if 48 % of its population were really White.

    • FalkoBaumgartner

Unlike America in Brazil, race is not defined on ancestry but on looks. Siblings could be qualified one as brown and one as white, depending on their individual skin pigmentation.

  • IstvanIN

Rap doesn’t sound any better in Brazilian Portuguese than it does in Ebonics.

    • jambi19

      PORCHuguese Ebonics.

And once again – more ‘Hispandex’ family values.’

The only good rapper is a dead rapper.

Can you believe the violence coming from this third-world, multiracial, multicultural, cesspool? If this keeps up they’ll turn into another Chicago.

  • A long time ago whites took a look around the world & decided that slavery was bad and got rid of it. The time is coming when whites will look around the world & come to the inevitable conclusion that blacks are bad. Can you say rule 308?

  • Spartacus

Still, Brazil has nothing on South Africa in terms of diversity and vibrancy :

  • Romulus

To reiterate: If crap kills crap, I don’t care one iota!

  • MawellAxel

This must be Simon Cowell’s secret fantasy.

  • KenelmDigby

If I had my way, every rapper would be shot on sight, let alone whilst ‘performing’ on stage.
In my opinion ‘rap’ is a crime against humanity or at least music and the auditory sense.

  • “All of Brazil’s current problems, but without the corresponding fun”.

I once read Washington DC described as being a combination of Southern efficiency and Northern manners.

  • WR_the_realist

I may be mistaken but I believe it to be the case that never in the history of the world has a pianist been murdered in a solo piano concert. It must be the white privilege that Tim Wise is always squawking about.

  • MBlanc46

That’s the model for the future all right. White elites in their gated communities and armored limousines while Third World people of color do the work. Non-elite whites? Good luck to you.

  • Spartacus

Learn how to fight, learn how to shoot a gun, stay fit, live away from “diversity”, and tell your family and friends to do the same. That’s the best advice I have.

  • Snow

What kind of a peaceful medium contains constant profanity, meaningless rhymes, occasional violence and “money is the best thing on earth” messages? Roughly 80% of all hip hop music videos have scenes where the rapper is holding money and surrounded by black women in bikinis

  • Robert Lindsay

This rapper appears to be more or less a White man, which makes this even more odd and tragic.

  • Marthinus Potgieter

I always tell my children that hip hop and rap is for dunderheaded imbeciles – this looks like evidence?
