Six Spanish Tourists Raped by Gunmen in Mexico, Authorities Say

Tracy Wilkinson, Los Angeles Times, February 5, 2013

Six Spanish tourists on vacation in Acapulco were raped by masked gunmen who burst into their lodgings in the middle of the night, roughed up their companions and made off with cash, laptops and other valuables, authorities said.

The attack early Monday on what was in Mexico a long holiday weekend came as the one-time tourist mecca struggles to salvage its reputation. Acapulco, faded gem of Mexico’s Pacific coast, has become one of the deadliest cities in the country as rival drug traffickers fight for control.

Most of the violence has been limited to dicier parts of the city not frequented by tourists. But this attack took place near the beach about six miles south of the so-called Diamond Zone, Acapulco’s newest and most luxurious enclave.

Acapulco’s city government press office said the tourists had rented a bungalow on Enchanted Beach south of the city, alongside small four-star hotels that advertise themselves as places for meditation, relaxation and yoga.

Walton said at least five gunmen entered the rooms where the tourists were sleeping, beat and tied up six men and raped six Spanish women. A seventh woman, a Mexican national, was unharmed, he said. The nationalities of the male tourists were not disclosed.

Walton added that the women were raped despite what he described as “excellent security” beefed up in Acapulco for the holiday weekend. Federal police and the army patrol parts of the city.

I wonder what her Spanish companions think of their Mexican friend and her “Tonto” moment now…

  • The__Bobster

Meanwhile, the Mexican tourist bureau says, “come on down, everything’s fine.”

    • Meanwhile, the tourist bureau of Spain says, “No se preocupe, todo está bien. Por favor visite México.”
(Do not worry, everything is fine. Please visit Mexico.)

  • Triarius

Sad, just sad. I hope no one has to go through this ever. All the more reason for a whites-only nation, this would happen significantly less.

Notice the local girl was loyal to her Raza. I wonder how these guys got past security? $100 she was in on it.

    • NYB

Or maybe the naïve Spaniards bought drugs, thereby alerting the local thugs as to their cash and valuables. Because they were in a ‘fellow Spanish-speaking country’, they may have let down their guard.

      • Triarius

Regardless, it is still beyond terrible. Everyone’s life in that room is ruined, even the men’s.

Unlike the US government, the Canadian government regularly issues warnings about vacationing in Mexico.

    • Katherine McChesney

Colleges have been warning students not to visit Mexico for holidays.

    • Joseph

Yeah, and they probably also issue warnings about visiting the US.

Think about it – the debt-ridden gringos head down with their money, and Mexico prospers from the wealth transfer.
Spain is currently suffering through record unemployment and a debt crisis. That these Spaniards would spend their money away from home in a tourist trap like Acapulco seems like they care not enough for their own kin and country.

    • Xerxes22

They are probably from Spain’s upper or upper middle class. Most of these types don’t care if their countrymen are suffering. They just want to have a good time. Our own affluent are the same way.

  • Lygeia

Call me cynical.I am convinced the “Mexican national” who was unharmed was part of the gang that raped these women. She was like a getaway driver in a robbery, except all she had to do was open the gate and let these men in to attack these Spanish women. I am convinced she provided the gang members with access to the villa and that was why she was let go and left unharmed.

When those same rapists cross into this country illegally to be amnestied, we will be told they are only seeking ‘a better life.’

    • mobilebay

Jay11 – Speaking of those awaiting amnesty, wonder how long it will take to check each invader’s real name and all the other information needed? How long before they learn English, pay their fines and whatever bogus hoops Obama will supposedly have them jump through? I’d say years for each one. Now mulitply that by the millions here. Just think of all the time they’ll have for “being boys.”

How dare you criticize these DREAMers!

They’re the future of America and after all they’re only doing the home invasions that lazy native-born Americans won’t do.

    • Cheri Rodriguez

All tourists entering Mexico should be issued sunscreen, bottled water and a 10mm Glock w/100 rounds of ammo.

      Q. Do you know what you have to do to grow weeds in your garden?

      A. Nothing.

  • Katherine McChesney

Not a place I’d want to visit. Too crowded. Had my fill of Baja California. Enjoyed resorts north of Progreso, Yucatan.

I used to go there almost every year. i stopped in 2003 and I’ll never go again. Since 2003 I have advocated a “Boycott Mexico” campaign to anyone who would listen. I won’t drink their beer and I won’t buy any of their products, especially food products from Mexico. I chastise any friends or relatives who even think of going down there. It is not safe anywhere down there. Why would you go to a country where the police shake you down more than the merchants? Like I said “Boycott Mexico.” It’s a cesspool of a country.

    • Michael_C_Scott

I buy Mexican products because I prefer buying things made by Mexicans in Mexico to buying things by Mexicans in the United States. So long as they are driving drunk down their own roads and raping and beating women there, rather than here, it matters a little less.

Sorry to get off the subject, but I remember when Germany was warning their citizens not to visit Miami Beach, Fl because so many idiot German tourists were being murdered by blacks. I say “idiot” because most are so liberal and naive. They were driving with the top down while “exploring” Miami. They believe that they were immune from violence because they were not “racist Americans”. Germany retracted the tourist warning. They just couldn’t maintain this “racist” warning, even though their own citizens were being brutally murdered. Miami is a perfectly safe, wonderful place for a German vacation.

This is more richness of diversity we can look forward to when Mexico finally succeeds in banning guns in America with the help of Obama and Holder.

A few years ago an exchange student from Madrid lived with our family for several months. She absolutely loathed Mexicans. She spoke perfect English and refused to speak Spanish with anyone because she claimed that the “Spanish” spoken in America was badly pronounced Mexican slang and nowhere near her native Castillian. She even walked out of a Spanish language mass at church because she claimed Mexican men kept staring at her crotch and when she got home took a shower for so long that it used up all the water from our two water heaters.

    • Michael_C_Scott

One of my college girlfriends, Maria was Spanish and hated Mexican’ts.

  • bigone4u

Ahhh, Mexican men, the Latin Lover that all women desire. Judging from my experience, the rapists went the local cantina and bragged, “We went to get their money, but the women wanted it so we had to do our duty.” At which point, much laughter will break out and the banditos will buy another round for the house.

  • KenelmDigby

“The Spanish women were raped, the Mexican woman was left unharmed.”
    Just about says it all.

  • freddy_hills

I may not always break into hotel rooms and gangrape the gringas. But when I do I drink Dos Equis.

    ***

Boycott Dos Equis and anything else Mexican. I’ve met plenty of very nice Mexicans. But there’s plenty of bigotry there, too. Hit them in the pocket book and they’ll change.

  • WASP Insurgent

Quite right June, there is alot of dislike between Mexicans and Spanish purebloods.

    • June

Over the years I have met a number of people from Latin American countries such as Chile, Argentina, and Brazil (in fact I have some Brazilian Confederado cousins). Most of them are descendants of settlers from Germany, Italy, Portugal, Russia and the American South. All are professional people who would make positive contributions to any country. They all share one common trait, they have low regard for Mexican Mestizos.

  • NortherTempest

Latinos raping each others in South America? Mestizos didn’t pop out of nowhere… this has been going on for almost five hundred years, so what else is new?

  • George

I live in California. Driving without a license? No problemo! Here without authorization? Also no problemo! Want a CCW to protect your family from a flood of illegal alien criminals? No way !!!
