Portugal for the Portuguese!

I have just returned from Porto, Portugal, where I was invited to speak at the very inspiring third “Congresso” of the Reconquista movement. Headed by a dynamic young man named Afonso Gonçalves, Reconquista is only three years old, but is rapidly gaining members and national attention by promoting an uncompromising policy of remigration. Its first congress attracted 90 people, the next year, 200, and this year, more than 400.

With success comes enemies. The venue was not announced until just before the event, but the owners canceled under political and media pressure. After a desperate search, Reconquista found this indoor soccer field.

As is always the case, the suspense of uncertainty made the meeting a triumph from the moment it began. The program began with original songs by an accomplished patriot musician, José Campos e Sousa. One song was a poem dedicated to all of us in the audience, and another was in memory of the Portuguese men who fought for their homeland overseas. He is a very good singer, and the acoustics were excellent.

Many of the speeches were in Portuguese, with simultaneous interpretation by headset for foreigners. Several were on specifically local issues, and I will not summarize them.

Manuel Morgado, a political analyst and commentator who has moved on from libertarianism, gave a fine, militant speech. Our goal as the identarian vanguard, he said, is to revive a pure, national consciousness. We are being replaced and face extinction. A nation is a family based on a shared cultural and genetic heritage, rooted in blood and soil. “I reject civic nationalism,” he said, adding that “true nationality is inherited only through blood.” Society is a racial construction. “Conservatives,” he said, conserve nothing because they are afraid of a single word: “racism.” By accepting the language of our enemies, by accepting racial nationalism for everyone but Europeans, conservatives guarantee the victory of our enemies.

“How do we win?” he asked. We embrace our Europeans identity and demand remigration. First, we close our borders to invaders and then we expel those who are here: “Millions will have to leave.” We must also end the crime of abortion, which is the slaughter of millions of Europeans in their mothers’ wombs. We must legalize the possession of firearms by Portuguese people so we can protect ourselves against foreigners.

We must also recognize that our identity and freedom are more important than democracy. As soon as we can, we must use the powers of the state against those who have permitted the replacement of our people, because they have not hesitated to use state power against us. Those who have permitted legal and even illegal immigration must be held accountable.

For now, we work primarily in metapolitics because this is how we create the conditions for political power. We have a decisive choice to make, and our choice is easy. It is not too late to ensure our future.

The Austrian Martin Sellner has done more than anyone to promote remigration. He strode to the podium to a pounding recording of “Ausländer Raus,” as 400 patriots leapt to their feet and joined in the chorus. His first words were of congratulation to the leaders of Reconquista for defying their enemies and holding a wonderful meeting in the face of opposition. “I am proud to he hated by them,” he said. “They hate us because they fear us and because they believe that only by silencing us can they defeat us.”

Mr. Sellner reminded the audience that DNA studies show that all Europeans are descended from the Bronze Age Yamnaya people who spread west from the Pontic-Caspian steppe. With some variations in admixture, we are all the unbroken descendants of the Yamnaya culture. Today, replacement threatens this ancient and distinguished bloodline with extinction. In Vienna, the majority of school children are already Muslims. The population of Germany is 83 million but only 11 million are German women of child-bearing age, and their fertility is approximately 1.0 — only half replacement rate. The only substantial majorities in Germany and Austria are the boomers, who cannot have children.

“We have only 20 years to save our heritage of 6,500 years,” Mr. Sellner warned. We have won countless battles in our proud history, but every victory will amount to nothing if we lose this battle. Remigration is the tool we must use to save our people. Remigration is like cut-and-paste: We cut from Europe and paste in Africa, and this will be a neo-Reconquista. We have succeeded in getting our ideas into the mainstream, but real solutions require action.

“Sooner or later, a so-called far-right party will win,” he said, whether it is AfD in Germany, National Rally in France, or Freedom Party in Austria. “But will they start remigration?” “Conservatives” have repeatedly broken their promises, and very few politicians put principles first. “So, what will you do to hold them to their promises, to make them begin remigration? Are you afraid of losing your job? You are losing your country!” No cost is too great to ensure the continuation of our history of 6,500 years.

“We will win,” concluded Mr. Sellner, “and our revenge will be the laughter of our children.”

In my talk, I described my centuries of roots in the United States, but I got enthusiastic applause when I asked the audience to grant me the honor of letting me call myself a European. We are all part of the world brotherhood of Europeans — one people of many nations, bound by ties of heritage and blood. Everywhere, we face the same challenges, fight the same enemies, and seek the same solutions.

The fight for European survival is the greatest struggle in human history. I told the young people that on their efforts rides the fate of everything our ancestors fought for and of everything we love. I told them I might not live to see the survival of our race ensured and fortified against all threats, but I am confident that they will.

Hilaire Bouyé, president of Génération Z (Zemmour) in France, began by stating that Europe is not just a continent but also a civilization. Our rulers worship diversity, but our generation is rising up with the courage that stems from the love of our people. We must fight the Great Replacement, which is not just a theory but a reality forced on us by elites. Remigration is therefore not just a solution but simple justice.

France must be French, just as Portugal must be Portuguese, and Europe European. We must bring Christianity back to Europe to restore our souls. All this can be accomplished only if young people are willing to be servants of their nations. Mr. Bouyé’s conclusion: “We refuse to be the generation of surrender.”

Reconquista activist Afonso Carvalho introduced the president of Reconquista, Afonso Gonçalves. (Both men are named after Afonso I, the first king, who established Portugal as an independent nation in 1139.) “He is the most dedicated person I know,” said Mr. Carvalho. “He wakes up every morning thinking about Portugal, and he inspires and motivates our people in this great battle.”

Mr. Gonçalves spoke with such passion and conviction that his interpreter could hardly keep up, but his message was clear:

When we first began our work, the Left laughed. It’s not laughing now. We know we are right and that our time has come. Nothing can stop a movement that stops for nothing, and I will never stop until Portugal is for the Portuguese people.

We can feel the fear of our enemies because they know their time is coming to an end. They fear us because they see we have the youth on our side. They censor us because we are right, and their only argument is to call us names. They have tried in every way to stop us, but we cannot be stopped.

It is not just the Left that wants to destroy us. Part of the Right wants to destroy us, too. I say to those in Chega (the prominent “far-right” Portuguese party): “If you will not stand with us for remigration, get out of our way.” They say we are radical? Of course we are radical, because that is the only way to achieve radical results.

We started from nothing and now we are the only authentic voice in Portugal because we listen only to the Portuguese people. To the gate keepers, we say: “We are in charge of the door.” We will soon be everywhere in this country, and God will guide us to victory. In the name of our nation and of our people, we will fight, fight, fight! He was met with a roaring ovation and sustained shouts of Por-tu-gal, Por-tu-gal!

The entire congress was electric with energy, but, to me perhaps the most moving moment was the finale: a thunderous chorus of 400 ecstatic voices singing the national anthem, “The Portuguese.” The words, written in 1890, could have been composed for this very congress.

Heroes of the sea, noble people,
Valiant and immortal nation,
Now raise once more
The splendor of Portugal!

Amid the mists of memory,
Oh Fatherland, one feels the voice
Of your illustrious forefathers,
That shall lead you to victory!

To arms, to arms!
Over land, over sea,
To arms, to arms!
For the Fatherland, fight!
March on against the cannons!

Just as with patriotic events I have attended this year in Finland, Britain, Italy, and Slovenia, the audience was an impressive group of determined young people. They give me hope. They give me more than hope. They give me confidence that Europe, like the words of the anthem, “valiant and immortal” and in the name of its “illustrious forefathers,” will march to victory.
