What I don’t understand is why we ever had to make HI a state; we should have just left it as a Pacific Ocean territory like Guam. HI as a state is politically like DC — 4 guaranteed electoral votes for Democrats (DC has 3), and 2 guaranteed U.S. Senators (DC has none, thankfully)

This sort of Diversity adds great strength to our Nation. All ethnic, language and religious groups should negotiate to have their own geographic areas, mini societies, governments, languages, culture, etc. Just think how much better we will all get along versus if we were just a single boring, homogeneous people.
We can greatly speed this process of balkanization, if we can just maintain the current massive importation of numerous diverse ethnic and religious groups into our country.
Who knew that America (the most successful nation the world has ever seen) would exist as a viable, unified nation for only 200 years. Good-bye my beautiful America — your light shone brightly for but a flicker of time.

The article cited some control of natural resources. What “natural resources” does Hawaii possess, aside from exceptionally fertile soil and a quasi-Yugoslavian collection of varied ethnic groups who loathe each other?

I think we should cut Hawaii loose. Back in the day, we needed it for a Pacific naval outpost. With today’s satellite technology, we know what’s in the ocean without actually having to be there. Hawaii is more Asian than anything else and only serves as an expensive vacation spot for the well-to-do. With this precedent, we could look forward to other states seceding and forming a traditional Euro-American state, minus the liberals and third-worlders. Secession is the only way I can see we can save Euro-American western culture before the elites and left wingers completely sell us out.

It would help though, if Hawaii would review its overall pricing policies as everything is so expensive there. I’m sure natives and tourists would spend more if it did.

Several have mentioned the idea that Hawaii should secede and that the US should welcome this. I quite agree. If you look at the list of senators from Hawaii, you will see that with one exception they are Japanese-surnamed. Do you really think these guys can completely ignore their tribal links to Japan?
Of course, we would say that we are giving it back to the native Hawaiians…really it would be to the Asians. Like most third-worlders, the Hawaiians would bonk severely in commercial and political competition w the Japanese.
While we are looking at cutting loose some costly dependencies, why not offer the same deal to Puerto Rico, the US Verigin Islands, etc. What a deal!

The bill would give the 200,000,000 people nationwide of European ancestry the right to form a governing entity that could negotiate with the state and federal governments over such issues as control of natural resources, lands and assets.
That’s too bad, because our state and federal governments do not represent us in any way and we need a governing entity that can oppose them.

I think the only reason Hawaii was made a state was because of the attack on Pearl Harbor.It was done to honor the men who died and still rest there.No island should ever be made a state,esp.Puerto Rico.

I have no problem with liberal democrats giving up their own money and resources to others- if they are this delusional, then perhaps they need a lesson in living in poverty to snap out of it.
But they have no right to give everyone else’s money and resources away. The government is supposed to function solely FOR the people, not FOR the interests of the flavor of the month (or the flavor for the last half century as the case may be).

We need to hang onto Hawaii. I can see some sort of reservation status, in lieu of Statehood, racial priviledges for aboriginal Hawaiians even. The first thing they’d do is kick out the Chinese and Japanese, which doesn’t really bother me. I don’t care if they want to cut down the pineapple plantations and fill the resorts with Primo warriors either. As long as the Navy and Air Force have their bases, I’m happy. What we don’t want for Hawaii is independence. They’ll be looking for a new teat in no time, and we’ll have the Chinese or Japanese navies making themselves at home in Pearl Harbor.

I don’t know about reports but two books that cover this are “The Real Lincoln”, which is a real eye opener, and “The South Was Right” by the Kennedy brothers (not THOSE Kennedy brothers!).

Let them declare independence. Good riddance. I never feel like I’m in the US when I visit Hawaii anyway. We should simply keep a military presence ad infinitum somewhere in the island chain and let the rest go. If they secede, it will set off a chain reaction. I’m all for it.

Having lived on the Big Island of Hawaii for seven long years, I attest to the fact that Hawaii (or PC style, “Hawai’i nei”) is a foreign country, a third world one in many repects. It is at its core hostile to Whites and I do hope it is accorded complete independence. China, not Japan, will seize it politically by stealth in a number of years but the “fat, dumb and happy” natives, Locals that is, won’t care as long as they can maintain their hedonistic lifestyle. I approve of Balkanization as our version of the Roman Empire has run its course. My Homeland is “Alba” in the Northwest USA.

If Native Hawiians get to be seperate, what could the US government say when or if Boers form the Boer state in South Africa do like wise?
btw, does anyone know why Boers didn’t push for a Praetoria are state when they repealed Apartheid ? They had control of alot of the South African Army, political clout and more than enough small Arms. So, what happened ?

Here are two books that discuss the constitutional aspects of the civil war and conclude that the constitution provided for peaceful secession.
1. The South Was Right! by James Ronald Kennedy and Walter Donald Kennedy (Hardcover - Mar 1994)
5. Was Jefferson Davis Right? by James Ronald Kennedy and Walter Donald Kennedy (Paperback - May 1998)
President Buchanan had the Justice department, Judges and legal scholars look into the question throughly during his term just prior to Lincoln’s election and the outbreak of the civil war. All these experts concluded at the time that the south did indeed have the right to secede, and that the President did not have the authority to force states to stay in the Union.
Lincoln was elected on the platform that the south did not have the right to secede.
Of course one has to consider various influences on the southern secessionists, namely the European banks and their agent, Judah Banjamin who arranged the financing of the south by the European banks and ran right back to England as soon as the south surrendered.
These European bankers made their fortune in the 1770’s by embezzling the funds borowed from the Landgrave of Hesse by the government of France to lend to the American revolutionaries during the war of independence from England.
From 1820 on these European bankers did their best to foment secession and regional differences in the hopes of making another fortune from an American war. They finally got their wish with the Civil War. But it was a disaster for the European bankers, because all their holdings in Confederate bonds became worthless.
Personally, I think the treason was not so much seccession as succumbing to propaganda and bribery by the European banks and their agent, Confederate treasury secretary Judah Benjamin.

Marie is in agreement with a buddy of mine, apparently. He told me that Hawaiians, especially the men, hate white guys and Americans in general. Whether true or not I don’t know, but he said that the women even prefer black men over others. Hey, no accounting for taste. However, I have to say that I think that if Hawaiians want to be cut free, let them go. The Japanese own large parts of the Island, anyway, and they are for harder task masters than whites ever were. Nothing like learning through experience.
