Tulsa Teen Accused Of Murder, Sexual Assault

Emory Bryan, News on 6, October 2, 2017

Police say a 16-year-old boy went on a crime spree that included the murder of a Broken Arrow teacher who died fighting to protect his family, and the sexual assault of an 81-year-old woman.

Officers took Deonte Green into custody near 71st and Memorial after 12 hours of intense police work.

Green is the 16-year-old boy who police say carried out four armed robberies, a sexual assault and a murder – in one day. He was an off and on student in Union Public Schools.

“He was a menace, basically, wherever he went,” said Homicide Sergeant Dave Walker, Tulsa Police.

Walker said Green is now the suspect in a wave of home invasions, robberies and car thefts within a mile of the murder.

School teacher Shane Anderson, 44, was killed in front of his wife and two daughters.

“He comes out of his bedroom and sees a stranger with a gun, and he does not hesitate,” Walker said. “He gets in a struggle with Green, and Green shoots. He continues to struggle with Green until he collapsed.”

“He forced the elderly woman back to a bedroom where he sexually assaulted her, then forced the couple at gunpoint to drive him to an ATM to withdraw money,” said Corporal Darrin Ehrenrich, Tulsa Police Sex Crimes Unit.
