Hispanic Business Group Endorses Clinton

Harper Neidig, The Hill, July 20, 2016

The U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce announced its support for presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton on Wednesday in its first-ever presidential endorsement.

Javier Palomarez, the group’s president and CEO, revealed the endorsement in an interview with NBC New Latino in Cleveland at the Republican National Convention–the site where Clinton’s Republican opponent was just formally nominated.

“We are at the Republican convention to announce that we proudly endorse Hillary Clinton for president of the United States,” he said. “We believe she’s the best person for the job. She’s got experience. She’s got the temperament and track record.”

Palomarez said the group decided against remaining neutral this year because “these are extraordinary times.”
